Backstory:
Marinette has been raised by the monks of Nanda Parbat since she was 2 years old. Her biological mother died giving birth to her while her biological father had been in a coma for over a year. One of the monks found Marinette and took her in.
Some of the monks here work with the League of Assassins (or League of Shadows). When Ra's Al Ghul came to visit the monks, he saw Marinette. Somehow, Marinette wasn't afraid of Ra when he spoke to the monks about taking her to his base. His grandson is destined to take over the league, and he'll need a bride. Marinette was willing to go with him and do the right thing, even if she was meant to be a bride.
Everything changed on that day.

/Damian & Marinette are 8 years old/
Pains... Screaming... The voices of her parents... Marinette has been having nightmares of her parents for the past two years. She'd wake up screaming and shivering in her room. Her nightgown was sweat-stained from her nightmare. Trembling in fear, she got up and crept out of her chamber into the one next to hers. Damian's doors were locked. But the girl had more than one way in. She hid a bobby pin in her hair for emergencies. She grabbed and picked up the lock. She entered the room and then whispered his name then, finally, the Ice Prince awakened.
"Should've guessed you'd pick the lock. We need a door for our shared wall. What brings you here trembling at this hour, Marinette?"
The poor girl pushed Damian aside and dragged him to his bed. "May I sleep in your room tonight?"
Damian saw the look in her bluebells eyes, a pleading look. Since she came here, Damian has been getting a strange feeling from her. They've been seeing each other with Ra as he was preparing the ancient ritual to bond them together. That'll happen when they are eight. His beloved, he couldn't say that he hated the thought, but he also couldn't say that he liked it. Marinette would be put in harm's way if she truly became his betrothed. He can't have that.
He gave her an awkward smile. "Very well, you may stay."
Marinette's eyes light up. This was worth it.
/They're 9 years old/
Marinette was training with Tom and Sabine Dupain-Cheng. They're a nice couple, plus they treat her as one of their own. Sometimes, she and Damian would compete against each other for fun. Marinette was sketching in her journal when Damian did a sneak attack on her. Thankfully, she saw him. "Did you think it would be that easy?" she said to Damian.
Marinette flipped Damian onto his back and grabbed his katana. "Not bad for a girl," Damian smirked.
"And you weren't bad yourself. For someone who's on their back. One point for me." Marinette smirked back.
Damian flipped forward and tried to grab his katana back from Marinette, but she ran off. She likes doing that to Damian. It's like a game of cat and mouse.
/They're 10 years old/
The time came for Damian and Marinette's ritual. Damian wore his league uniform (from Son of Batman) and waited for Marinette. Marinette was wearing a red dress, her hair was down her back, and a ladybug pendant for luck. The monks summoned her for the ritual and walked her down the hall.
Marinette stood by the door, waiting until Talia escorted her to the altar where Damian was. One of the monks started to chant and create the serum for them to be forever bound. The monk handed them each bowl with the serum as the Assassins and monks cheered. They both drank the liquid without hesitation.
They were now bonded to each other. Forevermore.

The monks had to flee to another temple except for Marinette. She was assigned to go with Tom and Sabine Dupain-Cheng to Paris as their daughter. The two swore to Talia that they would protect her son's betrothed with their lives.
Talia gave them her approval to take care of Marinette so she could give Damian to his father. Damian has never met his father before, so now, this is the only chance he might have. They were about to leave when Marinette rushed over to Damian. "Can you give us a minute to say goodbye?" She asked.
Talia nodded and told Damian to come to the boat when he was ready. Marinette gave him her ladybug pendant for good luck. "You'll always be my lucky charm. No matter where you are." Damian said to her.
Marinette and Damian had no contact anymore, and both had a hard time changing their attitude.
/They're 13 years old/
Marinette was in her undercover mode for the past years in Paris. Everyone in her class thought that she was a sweet, innocent, clumsy girl who couldn't hurt a fly even if she wanted to. She became a superhero named Ladybug with the ladybug earrings or miraculous. Her kwaai's name is Tikki she is like Marinette, nice, bubbly, and brave. Marinette's partner was Cat Noir, who loves to flirt with her even though her heart belongs to someone else.
She got friends for the first time in her life through this charade. Marinette even slowly developed a small crush on Adrien Agreste during her time in Paris. But she lost it when he only saw her as a friend and she didn't mind. Though she can't help but wonder where Damian was for the past years.
Damian had learned to be a hero. He was Robin now, and it didn't bother him anymore to not kill. He had gotten used to living with his father and his older brothers in Gotham City. He's even on the Titan's team in Jump City. Though it was kind of hard to hide the ladybug pendant from them since this was the last thing he had of his beloved. Superman's son Jon Kent is Damian's best friend and the only one who knows about Marinette.
/They're 18 years old/
Marinette's life took a turn for the worse at school. Lila Rossi came to school after her "Around the World trip" when she lied about it. Lila started telling wild stories about herself being famous for knowing so many famous people. She even tried to get Marinette expelled from school for hurting her and stealing her necklace. Lila stole Marinette's friends from her or so, she thought.
Marinette was tired of the lies. Luka, Kagami, Nino, Adrien, and Alya were the first ones to see the truth about Lila and have stuck by Marinette's side ever since. Next was Chloe, she became Marinette's friend after she was the only one who forgave Chloe about the Miracle Queen incident. Max and Nathaniel joined the group after Nathaniel and Max found out that Marinette was Ladybug. They promise Marinette that they will keep her secret. Alix and Kim joined the group, too, after figuring out that Marinette was also MDC.
Marinette is also the "honorary niece" of Jagged Stone and Laura Nightingale. She even started her website to start up her fashion career. She goes by MDC on her website, and no one has even figured out that was her at least until Alix and Kim summed it up.
Marinette has been designing new outfits based on the heroes and villains of Gotham City. They're for the contest for a trip to Gotham for two weeks. Adrien and Alya offered to come to help Marinette with the contest. The tricky part of the contest is that you must be wearing to design to photograph them. Alya and Adrien decided to help Marinette with the photo. Alya can use the camera while Adrien gives Marinette some pointers for the poses.

Marinette started with Nightwings' then Red Hoods', then Red Robin, and finally Robins. Alya snapped the pictures, and then she had Marinette send them to Mr. Wayne. "According to the contest, Bruce Wayne will call the lucky winner within a day. So you only have to wait till tomorrow." Adrien explained.
Little did Marinette know that this trip would change her life for the better.
