"Gavi, it'll be okay." I say as I close my car door and we go up the steps towards Isabelle's apartment. "Jude was just being an idiot when he said that, she'd never do that, and you know it." I add as he nods, knocking on the door.
"I know, it's just one of those things. Like you knew Pedri wasn't cheating but part of you was still probably saying what if." He shrugs as we wait for any sign that someone is coming to the door.
"Okay yeah that's fair. But don't like think about it that much, there's an explanation." I say as I knock on the door this time.
I pull out my phone and begin calling her as he begins looking through the window, trying to see anything. "You know, Jude getting a girlfriend made me think he'd act a little less irrationally. But he's just as much a menace as before." He scoffs as he goes to the next window.
"Yeah I don't think there's any helping him with that aspect. That's just his fantastic personality." I say sarcastically as I put the phone in my pocket, sighing. "Voicemail again." I mumble as I cross my arms.
He steps back from the windows and he goes over to the door, pulling on the doorknob. "Locked." He mutters as he puts his hands behind his head, walking down to my car as I look at the door one more time before sighing.
I go back to my car and get in as Gavi puts his head in his hands and I rub his back as moves away slightly. "Don't touch me."
"Look I know it effects you, but it effects all of us too, so don't get snippy with me." I say as he crosses his arms, staring out the window.
A 10 minute drive has never felt longer, and I don't think it ever will. No words were said, he didn't even look in my direction. He stayed faced away from me, arms crossed and staring out the window. What a little bitch.
Actually that's not fair. He's upset, but he's acting like a little bitch. Much better.
He immediately gets out of the car before I'm fully parked and I blow out a breath as I park, getting out and going inside just as Gavi is slamming his door shut. "What a joy." Pablo says from the couch as I raise my eyebrows.
"What happened? That's definitely not just about Isabelle, he's moody too." Pedri says as I sit on one of the stools.
"He was getting all pissy when I was trying to be nice to him about it. She's still not answering too which probably adds to it." I say as Pedri shrugs.
"I mean we should just leave him alone at this point." Ale says as I nod.
"Yeah and what about the match tomorrow?" Ansu asks.
"What about it?" Pedri questions.
"We all know how it's going to go. If he already fouls everyone as it is, how's this going to be taken? You need to give Xavi an actual warning about him or something." I say as Pedri sighs.
"Oh shit you're right." He says as he stands up. "I should talk to him."
"Pedri, I really wouldn't." Pablo says as he's frantically shaking his head no. Pedri just holds his hand up as he walks down the hallway. "I give him 30 seconds."
"He won't even make it 10." Ale counters as they give each other a look before shaking hands.
Ansu pulls out his phone and starts the stopwatch as soon as Gavi's door opens. I stare down the hallway as Pedri walks in, before immediately turning back around, holding up his middle finger on the way out. "Ale you win." Ansu says as Pablo rolls his eyes.
"Pay up big boy." Ale smiles as Pablo crosses his arms.
"We never actually bet money." He counters as Ale shrugs.
"Fine, make me dinner then." Ale says as Pablo mumbles something under his breath before getting off the couch, going into the kitchen.
I look down the hallway once again and Pedri nudges his head before going in my room. I get up and follow him, seeing him already in my bed. "That went good, no?" I joke as he raises his eyebrows slightly.
"Immediately told me to get out and pointed at the door. What an asshole." He mumbles as I go get in bed.
"He just needs time to pout. I am worried about her though, so I get it." I say as he brushes a strand of hair behind my ear.
"She's okay, it'll be fine." He whispers as I nod my head, taking a deep breath as I close my eyes. "Yeah, just get some sleep." He adds as he scoots forward, wrapping his arms around me.
A few hours passed and I slept for maybe a few minutes, but I had a pounding headache and my thoughts were running wild. "Pedri, let go. I need to go get Advil." I whisper as he releases his grip on me.
"Hurry back." He says in his sleepy voice as I hold my head, walking out to the kitchen. The lights were all off but that wasn't much of a surprise considering it was already 10pm, so all of the guys were probably all done for the night a couple hours ago.
I go to where the medicine is kept and I grab the Advil, and then a cup of water. I lean against the counter as I take it and immediately after I set the glass in the sink, I stop what I'm doing, sliding down against the island so im sitting down, back against it. I begin taking deep breaths as I pull out my phone, looking at the countless texts I've sent, with not one single reply.
I put my head in my hands as I feel tears well my eyes and I lean my head back, trying to take controlled breaths. Moments pass where I feel like I can't breathe and Pedri suddenly is at my side, rubbing my back. "You're okay, it's okay." He consoles.
"What if she's not okay? It's been a whole day." I begin sobbing as he shakes his head.
"Don't try to talk, just breathe." He says as he moves so he's in front of me and he cups my face. "Breathe, just breathe."
"Pedri." I try to say as he shakes his head.
"Focus on breathing." He says quietly as he begins taking deep breaths and i match it as he nods slowly. "I know you're worry about her, but you need to take care of you right now, okay?" He asks as I nod slightly.
"Okay, just breathe deep. That's all you need to focus on." He says as one of his hands begins playing with my fingers, keeping me distracted, as his other hand is resting against my cheek, his thumb rubbing back and forth as I'm just looking at him. "There we go. You're doing good." He says proudly as I regain control over my breathing and he stands up slowly, taking my hands and helping me up.
We go back to my room in silence and he gets in bed, immediately taking my hand and pulling me so that I'm lying on top of him and his hands go underneath my shirt, rubbing my back slowly. "Thank you." I say quietly as he nods, looking at me.
"Anything for you, mi amor. And I mean that."
