Brinley pealed her eyes open with a groan, the last thing she remembered was sitting by the pool with Hayley and then everything goes blank.
The ground is moving underneath her jolting her back and forth, the rumble of an engine is heard and the distinct smell of gasoline gives away the knowledge that she is in the truck of a car. Her wrists are bound behind her back, bent at a weird angle making the girl groan in discomfort.
"Brinley?" Hayley asked from beside her making the girl jump in surprise, not realizing she was here too.
"Hayley! Where are we? What's happening?" Brinley asked looking over her shoulder as far as she can to see the other girl
"I don't know. I'll get us out of here, don't worry." Hayley assured her and Brinley nodded
The pregnant girl sighed stressfully, working against her restraints Hayley rolled onto her back and tried kicking out the back window Brinley joining her but suddenly the car came to a stop.
"Shit." Brinley mumbled hearing one of the doors open and footsteps approaching the trunk
The door flies open and both Hayley and Brinley start kicking at the hands grabbing them. Brinley's foot makes contact with their captors face making them groan in pain.
"Seriously?" Their captor asked annoyed, when Brinley looked up she saw it was Tyler Lockwood one of the hybrids from Mystic Falls that Hayley befriended
"Tyler?" Hayley asked in shock and betrayal
"You don't want to fight me Hayley. Neither of you do, you can't beat a hybrid." Tyler smirked cockily making Brinley want to knock the look off his face
Tyler pulled out a pair of zip ties and grabbed Brinley's foot pulling her towards him making her yelp in surprise, the hybrid bound her feet together ignoring the girls protests.
"Ow! That fucking hurts!" Brinley exclaimed feeling the zip ties cut into the skin on her ankles
"Shut up!" Tyler exclaimed pulling Brinley out of the trunk shoving her to the ground
"Don't touch her! Leave her alone you backstabbing half-breed piece of shi--" Hayley exclaimed before Tyler slammed her head down against the floor of the trunk, affectively knocking her unconscious
"Hayley!" Brinley exclaimed watching her friend's unconscious form
"Let's go." Tyler said grabbing Brinley by the arm and throwing her over his shoulder
"Put me down! Put me down!" Brinley screamed wiggling in his arms
"Stop moving!" Tyler exclaimed tightening his hold on the girl making her wince in discomfort
"No! Let me go! Help! Help!" Brinley exclaimed as Tyler carried her off further into the Bayou, the truck and Hayley disappearing from her view
The slight flutter in her stomach is what makes Brinley quit struggling, no matter what she has to protect her unborn children and if that means cooperating until Klaus can get to her then that's what's she will do.

The humidity of the bayou is the first thing Brinley notices when she wakes up, the sticky sweaty feeling of her skin itchy from mosquito bites. Sometime during their journey the girl must have fallen asleep because now she's laying on the wooden floor of an old shack zip tied to the leg of an old stove.
Groaning in discomfort Brinley pushing herself up to lean against the wall behind her, looking to her left she sees Hayley laying unconscious in a similar position.
"Hayley! Hales!" Brinley whisper yelled trying to wake the girl, having no luck Brinley sighed and started pulling at the zip ties
Hayley groans making Brinley's head snap over in her direction.
"Hayley?" Brinley asked as Hayley's eyes fluttered open
"Brinley? Are you ok? Where are we?" Hayley asked groaning as she pushed herself up
"I'm fine, I think. I'm not sure, somewhere in the middle of the bayou." Brinley said as Hayley sat up against the wall
"Where's Tyler?" Hayley asked looking around cautiously
"I don't know. When I woke up he was gone." Brinley said and Hayley nodded
Before anything else could be said the door opens and Tyler steps into the room with a man behind him.
"You're both awake, good." Tyler said pulling out a knife before walking over and crouching down in front of Brinley
"What are you doing with that?" Brinley asked gulping, wishing more than anything that she could cross her arms over her stomach protectively
"Depends on you two." Tyler said reaching forward and cutting the zip ties from her ankles before moving over to do the same to Hayley
"On us? You've got to be kidding me." Brinley shook her head
"You're the one who attacked us! In our own backyard by the way!" Hayley exclaimed in anger
"It's not your backyard, it's Klaus'! You're shacked up in that mansion with that psycho. A long way from the girl I've met in the Appalachians, helping other werewolves." Tyler told Hayley making the girl shake her head
"I'm not staying there for my own gain, I'm only there for Brinley. A lot has changed from the last time we saw you." Hayley explained and Tyler rolled his eyes
"Oh I know all about the changes." Tyler said before turning to Brinley. "I know that you're pregnant with Klaus's hybrid twins."
"Then you should know exactly what will happen to you if you harm me or them." Brinley said
"I'm not scared of Klaus." Tyler shook his head before looking to Hayley. "You know what I also learned?" Tyler walked over to Hayley and pulled down the back of her sweater showing her birthmark. "This crescent birthmark means you come from a big-shot family. Some kind of royalty for the werewolves of this region. And right here this is all that's left of them. You're family they're in the woods, hiding, because they were persecuted for decades by vampires."
Hayley just looked down at the ground making Brinley frown, she knows how important finding her family is to the girl.
"There's been a wolf watching me lately. Protecting me, like it instinctively knows that I'm part of it's pack. You're a hybrid, you can turn into a wolf whenever you want... Was it you?" Hayley asked Tyler who furrowed his brows
"No, but you're right-- only hybrids can control when they change. And I'm the only one left, besides Klaus. Which is why we're here." Tyler said turning back towards Brinley
"If you hurt me it's not just Klaus you'll have to worry about Tyler. There's Elijah and Rebekah and no matter how much they fight between each other they all seem to greatly care about me and my babies and I them. They will kill you slowly and painfully." Brinley said knowing her words were true
"What makes you think I'm afraid to die?" Tyler asked with a chuckle making Brinley gulp, a man with nothing to lose and no fear of death is a whole new monster. Tyler looked over at the man who followed him into the shack. "This here is Dwayne. You ready for this?"
"Let's do it." Dwayne nodded with a grin as he approached Brinley
"Hey! Hey! Leave her alone! Tyler don't!" Hayley exclaimed as Dwayne held Brinley down on the ground
"Get off me! I will kick your ass!" Brinley exclaimed wiggling in his hold
Tyler reached into a bag and pulled out two large syringes before walking towards Brinley, despite both hers and Hayley's protests Tyler knelt down and jammed both syringes into Brinley's stomach extracting her blood.
"Klaus destroyed everything good in my life! So, I'm gonna take away the things he wants most!" Tyler exclaimed as Brinley yelled and squirmed in pain before Tyler removed the syringes
Brinley gasped in relief and slumped back down against the floor breathing heavily, sweat glistening on her brow.
"Brinley!" Hayley said in worry
"I'm ok." Brinley gulped
The girls looked up just in time to see Tyler take one of the syringes and jam it into Dwayne's neck before snapping it making them yell in surprise as Dwayne crumbled to the ground.
"Oh my god." Brinley gasped with wide eyes
"What the hell did you do?" Hayley asked in shock
"You'll see soon enough." Tyler said before walking over to Hayley
"Tyler? Tyler!" Hayley exclaimed in terror before screaming as Tyler jammed the remaining syringe into Hayley's neck before snapping it killing her instantly
"No! Hayley!" Brinley exclaimed tears clouding her eyes as she looked at her friends dead body. "Why are you doing this?"
"To test a theory." Tyler shrugged before dragging Dwayne's dead body across the room
"You killed them to test a stupid theory?!" Brinley exclaimed
"Don't get all judgy. Dwayne knew what he was getting into. He volunteered!" Tyler defended himself
"But Hayley didn't! She didn't deserve this you whiny son of a bitch!" Brinley yelled in anger
"Both Hayley and Dwayne are werewolf's who died with your blood in his system. The same blood you share with your hybrid babies." Tyler said ignoring Brinley's comment
"You're trying to turn them into hybrids? That's impossible!" Brinley realized with wide eyes
"I've been running with wolf packs all over the country. One of them was tight with a witch. She had nightmare visions about your babies and how Klaus could use their blood to make an army of hybrid slaves." Tyler exclaimed making Brinley clench her jaw in frustration
"I'm sick and fucking tired of fucking witches and their premonitions about my babies! They are just babies! Little harmless babies!" Brinley exclaimed and Tyler shrugged
"Maybe. Maybe not. That's where Dwayne comes in. You see, he was happy to be the test case. If you haven't noticed, these people don't have much to live for. They'd all welcome the chance to become the superior species. And as far as I'm concerned I did Hayley a favor, she doesn't need to worry about her family now that she's strong enough on her own. Trouble is, all hybrids are sired to Klaus. They follow his every move. No way I let that happen." Tyler said grabbing the knife from earlier and sitting it on the table
"Klaus doesn't know what the babies blood might do. You are going crazy over nothing." Brinley shook her head
"Klaus Mikaelson, killer of men, women and puppies, all of a sudden wants to be a daddy? Or, he's got an ulterior motive. Hybrids can walk in the sun. Their bite is lethal to vampires. They'll take over New Orleans by the end of the week. And you know what's going to stop Klaus then? Nothing." Tyler said and Brinley shook her head
"You're wrong." Brinley shook her head, she knows he's wrong
Everytime anything happens with the babies Klaus is there, when she's hungry he's the first to run and get her whatever she's craving, when her hormones are out of wack he's her shoulder to cry on, and when her bump first started showing she saw the gleam of excitement in his eyes and feels him gently caressing and whispering to her bump when he thinks she's asleep at night.
Before anything else could be said Dwayne wakes up with a gasp making Brinley jump and then Hayley wakes up panicking with wide eyes.
"What did you do to me?" Hayley asked holding her head
"You're both gonna have to feed on her." Tyler said picking up the knife and walking over to Brinley, cutting both sides of her neck making the girl yell out in pain
"No! Get off me!" Brinley yelled trying to wiggle away from them
"Do it. Now!" Tyler exclaimed
Dwayne walked over to Brinley and sunk his fangs into her neck despite her cries of pain and terror before pulling away and falling to the floor in pain screaming in agony. Tyler grabs Dwayne and shoves him outside leaving Hayley and Brinley alone
"Hayley. You have to feed from me." Brinley gulped and immediately Hayley started shaking her head
"I can't. I'll hurt you Brin, I won't be able to control it." Hayley cried pushing her hair out of her face
"You have to. If my blood made you a hybrid then you have to drink or you'll die. I know you don't want to but you have to." Brinley explained making Hayley sigh
Hayley looked around before grabbing a wooden chair leg and handing it to Brinley before snapping the zip ties around her wrists.
"If I don't stop you have to kill me okay?" Hayley asked and Brinley shook her head. "You have to."
Hayley sighed before feeding on the other side of her neck, Brinley winced at the feeling of her fangs penetrating her skin before Hayley jerked back falling to the ground in pain much like Dwayne.
"Hayley!" Brinley exclaimed as the girl writhed around on the ground in pain
Brinley watched in shock as Hayley laid still before looking up at her with yellow veiny eyes and fangs.
"It worked." Tyler said as he came back into the shack looking down at Hayley who shakily stood to her feet. "If Klaus gets a hold of you, if he gets those kids? He wins."
Tyler walked over and picked the knife up from the ground making Brinley shoot backwards away from him, hiding the leg behind her back.
"I won't let you hurt them." Brinley shook her head
"You don't have a choice." Tyler shook his head stepping forward before Hayley stood in front of him
"Don't! Just, what if I help her hide the babies away from him? I can help her run, Klaus will never get to them." Hayley said and Brinley shook her head
"No! I won't run! Klaus is not like this! He wants them just as much as I do! You are just pissed that he killed your mother and you want to take something that you know he loves away from him. Don't try to act all righteous because you are only doing this for your own selfish reasons." Brinley shook her head seeing Tyler grow angry
"I don't want him to make anymore hybrid monsters. Slaves who do everything he says." Tyler said stepping around Hayley and walking closer to Brinley
"You're fucking crazy." Brinley shook her head before jumping forward and stabbing Tyler in the stomach with the broken chair leg making him scream in pain before ripping it out
"That was stupid!" Tyler exclaimed before stalking back towards Brinley who was now to her feet and protectively cradling her stomach
Suddenly, Hayley rushed up to Brinley and stood protectively in front of her and Dwayne rushed into the room.
"Get away from her!" Dwayne exclaimed shoving Tyler back making Brinley look at him in confusion
"What do you care?" Tyler asked
"I said get away!" Dwayne exclaimed again
"You got what you wanted, now get lost!" Tyler exclaimed annoyed
"Dwayne! He's going to kill me and then he'll kill you and Hayley too. He said all hybrids are too dangerous to live. You have to stop him." Brinley said realizing that Dwayne wanted to protect her, he was sired to her
"Shut up!" Tyler exclaimed before Dwayne suddenly leaped forward and started attacking him causing him to drop the knife
Brinley jumped forward and grabbed the knife before Hayley pulled her out of the shack and they both started running as fast as they could into the woods. Still holding the knife in her hand Brinley rushed forward pushing tree branches out of her way, glancing over her shoulder she saw that Hayley was gone making her curse.
"Not again." Brinley gasped out of breath leaning against a tree
She tipped her head back and tried to control her breathing all while gripping the knife with one hand and cradling her bump with the other. Flash backs of the last time she was lost in the bayou by herself flashing in her mind.
The snap of a twig made Brinley stand up straight her grip on the knife tightening, taking a deep breath Brinley pushed herself off the tree and pulled the knife back before her wrist was caught. Looking up she saw a familiar pair of dark blue-green eyes.
"Hello little warrior." Klaus smiled softly quickly glancing her body for any signs of injury zeroing in on the dried blood on both sides of her neck
"You found me. I knew you'd find me." Brinley sighed in relief dropping the knife to the ground before crashing into his arms
Klaus wrapped his arms around the girls waist and held her tightly to his chest placing a kiss to the top of her head.
"Are you ok?" Klaus asked and Brinley nodded
"I am now." Brinley sighed closing her eyes in content as she rested her head against his chest. "There's something you should know."
"I already took care of Tyler, he won't be coming back here again." Klaus said and Brinley shook her head
"He took us because he had a theory. A theory that my blood, our babies blood could create hybrids. He was right. He turned Hayley and another wolf." Brinley said and Klaus looked at her in shock
"What?" Klaus asked with wide eyes
"He tried to say that you knew and the only reason why you took me in is because you want to use them to create another army. One that won't betray you." Brinley said and her heart cracked when she took in the look on Klaus's face
"And you believe him?" Klaus asked hurt etched onto his face
"No. No I didn't. I know you Klaus, we have a connection that I can't ignore and I know you love our babies. I don't care what anyone thinks or says, I know that you didn't know and even if you did you would never use our children like that because you are nothing like your parents." Brinley said reaching up to cup his face
Klaus looked down at her scanning her face for any signs of a lie, finding none he gently ran his hands up and down Brinley's back before reaching up to cup her jaw.
"You're right. I love our babies and as much as I wish I could ignore it I love you too." Klaus said making Brinley smile softly
"I love you Klaus." Brinley said leaning up to place a kiss on the corner of his lips
"Let's get you out of here." Klaus said holding onto end hand
"What about Hayley?" Brinley asked
"Elijah's here. I'm sure they found each other. Come on, I'll make you some chicken and potatoes when we get home." Klaus said wrapping his arm around her waist and leading her out of the bayou

When they got back to the mansion Brinley immediately went to her bathroom to take a nice hot shower, her muscles instantly feeling less tense. Luckily the bite wounds on her neck had healed thanks to the babies along with any cuts she received from running through the woods.
On their way back to Klaus's car they ran into Elijah and Hayley who basically accused Klaus of planning to use the twins for his own personal gain. Brinley was hurt by their accusations but no one was more hurt then Klaus. He had bit Elijah and left him and Hayley in the bayou, as much as she cares about them both Brinley couldn't find it in herself to feel sorry for either of them.
Once she was done in the shower Brinley walked downstairs to the kitchen and saw Klaus leaning against the counter.
"You ok?" Brinley asked coming to stand next to him
"Rebekah was just here. She said she would call you later. I'm afraid I'm losing her too. Elijah's always been a sucker for a pretty face so I'm not surprised he took Hayley's side in all of this and I'm sure he'll be tending to Hayley's new hybrid self when he's not hallucinating and in agonizing pain. Rebekah's been sneaking off to Marcel behind my back. I suppose you and those little ones are the only ones I can rely on." Klaus sighed
"You've lived for a thousand years together, Klaus. It is no question that you will have your disagreements and fights but at the end of the day you are siblings and you love each other. Don't take this as a true act of betrayal because when it really comes down to it you are always there for each other." Brinley said gently squeezing his bicep
"Enough about me and my problems. How are you feeling? How are the babies?" Klaus asked gently resting his hand on Brinley's bump
"We're all fine. That shower did a world of good. Now we're just hungry." Brinley said making Klaus chuckle and reach over to grab the plate he made her
"Chicken and potatoes. You still have some strawberry lemonade in the fridge if you want some." Klaus said and Brinley nodded immediately digging into her food
Klaus poured her a glass of lemonade and sat it down in front of her before moving to get his own glass of whiskey.
They were quiet, Brinley focusing on her food and Klaus lost in his thoughts. Once she was done, Brinley washed her plate and glass before moving over and plucking the glass from Klaus's hand.
"That's your fourth glass in half an hour. I'd rather not have to deal with a drunk Klaus." Brinley said when she noticed the look he was giving her
"Thanks for the concern love. But I can handle my liquor." Klaus said and Brinley nodded
"Oh I'm sure you can. But I don't really feel like being alone tonight, I've had a shitty past few days and I would rather you not be hammered." Brinley said before holding her hand out towards Klaus. "You coming?"
Klaus just smiled softly and grabbed her hand allowing her to lead him up the stairs and into her room. Brinley flopped down onto her bed and got comfortable under the covers while Klaus turned on her fan and turned the lights off before kicking his shoes off and sliding into bed next to her.
Brinley instantly moved towards him and cuddled up to his chest, Klaus kissed her forehead and wrapped his arm around her settling it on her stomach.
"Thank you for saving me. Us." Brinley mumbled
"I'll always save you." Klaus responded
