katana had just woken up from a nap when she heard her phone going off, she picked it up expecting it to be from jah but weirdly enough it wasn't him. it was her mom who was calling
she answered it still confused "ma? wassup? did sum happen?" she asked concerned and her mother shook her head "damn, so now some shit gotta happen for me to call my daughter? that's crazy" her mom replied sarcastically which made katana laugh
"nah it's not like that, it's just been a minute ma. but what's new up there? hows my cat?" tana asked and her mom laughed "i knew you was gone ask bout that damn cat, but she's good. she misses her mom, i guess grandma not good enough" her mom replied while rolling her eyes at the last part and tana chuckled
then mink decided to walk across the screen and make her presence known which made both women laugh, as mink was showing off
tana had been on the phone with her mom for a good 30 minutes when jah came back in the room
"ma, they didn't have the hot fries you wanted so i just got you hot cheetos-" jah started saying until he looked up and saw tana's eyes go wide as she quickly muted herself
"who the fuck you being sneaky the phone with vruh" he asked agitated and she sighed "nigga this my mother" she replied before rolling her eyes and he scoffed
"so? if it's just your mother then why you feel the need to mute yourself when i came in? what your mom can't know you with me or some shit like that?" he asked sarcastically and she flipped him off
"it's not like that, i just don't want no questions n shi from her bruh" she told him as she got up and went to bathroom, closing and locking the door behind her before unmuting
"my bad mama, something came up but i'm back" she said and her mother raised her eyebrow "girl ion know why you muting like i don't already know you at his house, you're in florida so i expected you to be there. i'm not mad or nothing either, tana you're grown and can do what you want. ion care as long as my only daughter is safe, and it seems like he keeps you safe so i have no issues" her mother told her and tana smiled at her
"yea i am safe right now, but lemme go apologize to him cus he think i'm being sneaky right now. so love you mama, see you saturday" she said to her mother who smiled at her "i love you too moomies" her mom replied before they hung up and kat unlocked the door before walking out
she saw jah's closet door was open so she walked in and walked up behing him, wrapping her arms around his waist "i'm sorry for acting like i was doing some shit papa, i just don't want my mom to worry bout what i'm doing or who i'm with" she tried to reassure him and he just shrugged
"tana why it feel like everytime our relationship takes a step forward, our trust in each other takes 2 steps backwards? i want to trust you and vice versa, but how can i when you're literally being sneaky about being on the phone with your mom?" he questioned her seriously and she sighed "i gotta work on my shit, and i know that. i'm bouta get my shit right i promise, for us" she told him and he nodded believing her
"i believe you baby, and imma be there with and for you just be honest with me that's all i ask" he said honestly and she nodded "i will, i'm tryna work on that so mind as well start in my own relationship" she replied before unwrapping her arms from him and he turned around to look at her
"you wanna be watch that mario movie? danny ass found a website to bootleg the shit off of" he asked and she nodded excitedly before taking his hand and practically dragging him out of the closet and to to the bed
they both got in and tana laid down on jah's chest as he put the website into the smart tv and pulled up the movie
this would be how the two would spend the next couple hours, cuddled up watching a childrens movie
