It made himremembered one of those times on their recents dates that she mentioned about tasting a chocolate cake on one of malls they passed through during shopping

"Someone's calling for you.." her voice was weak and whispery after their long lavishing moments of passion, only the tension cutted out when a sudden phone call buzzed through the room, thus breaking the mood and stopping their tender showered kisses
But the one eyed man insisted to continue, frowning at the sound of the buzz
"It'll stop eventually.." he replied, turning his attention back at the raven haired haired woman comfortably plopped down on the pillows as she too was convinced by his words

They groaned, finally breaking the entire mood, Kubo had no other choice but to crawl in complaint as he grabbed his phone
"Hello?" He answered with a little bit of patience of his voice
Agatha watched him from her own spot as she fixed her messy hair and loosen nightgown on her arms, as much as she had wanted the moment not get ruined, curiosity got the best through her as she noticed the sudden shift of surprise and confusion on Kubo's face

"No, no..you can't have treats anymore Bubzie.." the redhead chuckled as their pug whimpered towards the targeted donut on his owner's hand, until his other owner just in time he got out from the room, chuckled at the sight
"Don't listen to Neil, Bubzie..take it.." he laughed, causing the other to frown at him
"You're a bad influence, Norman.."
"Says the one that gives Bubzie five treats a day when it was supposed to be just three.." Norman reasoned, sitting down besides the redhead and quickly took a bit of the donut
"Oi! You tricked us!" Neil exclaimed as he the pug also wail at his owner

"Sir, did you know what you did is stealing from someone else's property?" Neil raised his brow in a playful manner

"hey Jonesy, are you sure this facial cream thay you happened to also put on my face would take an effect on me?" He chuckled on how ridiculous they looked at the mirror, especially that night had playing tricks on their eyes, he could almost picture of them as some green lake monster

Coraline chuckled at their homestyle spa treatment that she started that even the cat and the three fostered kittens had also given the luxury to feel relaxed by placing a cucumber on top of their sleeping eyelids
Although he hadittle idea on how these creams works or applied on, she was glad of having someome as open minded as what her partner was and willingly take this simple treatment from her
And plus points that he manage to do her nail and was slowly getting better at it
"And we are finally at the hardest stage, picking the right color..." Wybie chuckled as he pulled a box of colored manicures that Coraline had bought for herself
And he was right though

She paused and thought for a moment
"Huh, I wonder color should I pick"
"How bout you just add all the colors.." Wybie laughed at his suggestion
"Hey, I don't want to be a unicorn.." Coraline cackled "But seriously though, I can't pick a color today, probably my brain just went on a blackout.." she sighed "eh, how bout you Wybie, what do you think suits best for me?"
Wybie blinked a few times from that question, obviously trying to form out his prefetence at this type of matter, the young mechanic focuse himself to find an answer
"Hmmmm well...any color suits you though..but I think personally I think you look suited for Navy blue cause with a little bit of white line at the edge tip for just a small design.." he answered with a proud smile as Coraline looked at him, quite impressed
"Oh wow, I didn't expect that for an answer but I am intruige of what are you planning, alright Mr. Lovat, just do your magic.."
"Yes, Ma'am.." With a small salute, Wybie quickly grabbed the manicures inside and begun to do his process
And just as the mood was about to increase, another buzz startled them
Coraline quickly grabbed Wybie's phone in oder not for him to get distracted in which Wybie was grateful about it
"Hello? Who's this?" She asked and a loud enthusiastic voice of Eggs can be heard
"OH HI CORALINE! It's me Eggs! Is bud Wybs over there with ya? I wanna talk with you for a sec!"
"Woah, that's a sprightly line, who's that?" Wybie asked as soon as he heard the voice
"It's Eggs.." Coraline chuckled "He's here Eggboy, he's just polishing my nails...hold on! I'll just gonna speaker on so that you guys could talk too.."
To Coraline's Assistance, she turned on the speaker and place the phone on the bed, as usual, Wybie teased as he asked from the line about the concern
Without waisting any time, Eggs went straight to the point

"I wanna bake some Chocolate cake for Winnie..." he finished, Lucky enough that he didn't stay on her bedroom for tonight or else his plans would be spoiled
"Aw, how wonderful.." Coraline replied with a sly smile as she looked back at Wybie
Eggs sighed, and buried his face on his pillows as he remembered something troubling again
"But I really don't know how to bake one..so I asked help with the others, I was hoping that you guys could help me too, you could use my kitchen, don't worry about the mess!"
"Are you serious?" Wybie frantically panicked on his lines "what if Winifred could barge in and saw all of us there, we'll get caught.."
"You know what? We could use my kitchen here, perfect timing that Jonesy and I were gonna have some cooking tomorrow, we could do it all at the same time!"
With an incredible offer, Eggs sighed in relief, not only for that fact his plans had a high chance to surprise Winifred but to also make things easier
"You guys should go early to get some groceries.." Coraline mentioned "So I think around 9 am is the best time that some of us could buy some ingredients for the cake while we prepare the kitchen, sounds good eh?"
"Don't forget to tell the others!" Wybie reminded
"Got it guys, thanks for the help, you're still our big Sis, Cora" Eggs smiled, turning off his phone as they bid farewells, He could feel himself greatful at everything that had happened today
Laying down on his back as his eyes stared at the ceiling
A small sigh of relief released from his chest and with that, he could be able to make this surprise even better

And as what Coraline had instructed, the gang woke up at the assigned time to assemble at the grocerry store, upon to Eggs excitement the young inventor got early first, messaging Winifred that he might be busy today in order for her not to think any suspuscious, prepping himself as he fixed his hair, came rushing downstairs as he grabbed his coat with his mechanical bicycle outside, in a matter of minutes only took for him to arrived at his destination

But well, friends will be friends, they'll make fun of anything just to embarass yourself

But in the end, they manange to have them all

As what Coraline and Wybie had promised, the kitchen was all set and ready to get busy, the only thing that was missing is the ingredients and the people
Newly purchased ingredients was immediately arrange neatly on the counter, Eggs being the center to recive instructions as the rest stood from behind
"Alright, alright everybody! It's time to put on the aprons and get the job done.." Kubo cleared his throat to get serious and start the baking mission
"Wait, where's Agatha? You'rr not with her?" Eggs asked as he noticed the missing prescence besides Winifred
"Well, Agatha decided to stall time in order for Winnie not get us caught here.." Kubo replied
In which, it was a very wise move for her
"I gues that'll keep us enough time..." Norman nodded
"Well? Let's move then!" Kubo demanded as he begun to open all the first ingredients in a haste
"Ah, ah wait, let Neil do it first, he's good at it.." Norman
"You really don't have to point that out.." Neil chuckled trying to refuse the offer however the group had already pushed him towards Eggs as the young inventor had alread set up his eyes and ears for his instruction

When it comes to pastry and such, most of the majority decided to let Neil instruct do the whole baking procedure to Eggs
The whole gang laughed at how even at the start of mixing the ingredients, Eggs was already messing things up, lucky enough that the redhead had the patience to take it all up and still willingly guide and give corrections of Eggs' procedure, Norman chuckled at the sight seeing his partner teaching his friend like a kid
Eggs never knew how hard cooking is, not until he witnessed the many process on how to just baking the chiffon, icing, the flavor and the right temperature and measurements

They can't say if his work was a success, or a good start, afterall, baking a dessert for the first time without proper guidance might end up a big failure

And being grown up rascals, the wouldn't end without pestering Coraline, being supportive for their mission, she assisted out the group by pouring the chocolate cream on at the top of the cake and lapped over the chiffon as she kept scolding the three from refrain of any distractions
"Nah! This brand of chestnut chocolate is better.." Kubo reasoned at the thick brows as they had been in quite a fit arguing over which brand of chocolate fits better on the chiffon
Of course the young Forensic does not approve on the demigod's opinion and begun to disagree
"No, I think almond chocolate fits the whole cake..." he replied back placing his hands on his waist
"Dude, we rarely use that flavor on our desserts!"
"We don't even heard that kind of flavor!"
"It sucks"

"HEY!" Coraline yelled, causing the two to stop from going even further, as her glaring eyes darted back at them, holding the knife as she silently chopped the chocolates
"Is this your cooking? Let Eggs choose what he wants!" Her voice raged in irritance somewhere it was no longer even the same as what she usually use to threat them back in the day
This kind version of Coraline was much more terrfying
Who knew the random burst of her anger out of nowhere is making them feel weak to the knees
The two mean apologized in regret, as Coraline quickly shifted her face back into soft on Eggs once again, smilimg to i docate that all the ruckus is done
Wybi smiled as he watched her hanging around with the boys again, just like the old times they used to, it felt like she was the oldest sister amongst the four of them
And yet, ended up getting in trouble as well

After a few hours, afternoon had passed.
They finally did it
The boys stared down at the final product, as much to Eggs efforts..the cake was somehow looks edible, the brown color of the dessert was visible but quite under if it was because of the chocolate or the chiffon was actually burnt from all the cooking
"Erm...it looks, okay Eggs, great job!" Neil cheered him up but his eyes of doubt were visible
"It doesn't feel like it.." Eggs stared down at the sloppy cake in front of him. A small pat he felt on his shoulder
"Oh hush, maybe the cake tastes good though..." Wybie supported, giving Eggs a hopeful smile as the young mechanic slowly took a small portiom of the other cake
But after the dessert had landed on his mouth
Wybie never spoke a word and let the fork stayed on his mouth for a few minutes
Agitated at the very concerning silence, Coralined stepped in to check on him
"Uh...Bie? We're here just waiting for any signs of your response, I hope you're not getting any poison or something.."
"Eyyy, my cake wasn't THAT Bad!" Eggs pondered, eventhough he hoped that it truly wasn't
A hard gulp they heard
"It tastes erm e- GOOD!" Wybie told them, a stur of unease he felt inside his stomach as he tried not himself to vomit in front of the group
"you don't look so good..." Kubo implied with a frown knowing that the dessert is not a good outcome
The mechanic quickly moved away from the counter and opened the fridge, drinking tons of water in the process
Eggs sighed, looking down unpleasantly at the cake he made
"Oh well, atleast I tried.." he considered
Neil smiled, giving him a small pat on the shoulder "don't feel down Eggs, it's still the first one! We could still make a lot of it, it'll just take a lot of practice and you'll get there!"
The words of assurance made the inventors feelings slightly lightened at that hope
Collecting all the ingredients on the counter, Eggs confidently placed them on the basket as he cleaned the counter
"Wait, were done?" Kubo asked in wonder as he noticed that Eggs was already packing all the things
"Well I figured...since you guys helped me alot on how to bake a cake, I wanna do it on my own kitched later.."
"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Coraline worriedly asked as eveyrone also churned in from their concerns
But somehow, after the drastic fail of baking
Eggs could felt a small hope
He nodded in silent with a smile

The two couple sighed at the weird day they had before walking back inside the house once again

And as evening arrived, Kubo and the rest was alarmed at a message on their private group, only to be greeted with a small thank you from their friend Eggs as a picture of him and Winifred were smiling happily at the camera
And a piece of chocolate cake on the table
The group smiled as they realized that Eggs had tried to bake the dessert all by himself all evening and eventually, it was a successful one
Seems like all their efforts didn't go to waste afterall..
