There Billy stood, at the doorstep of the love of his life that he let go of, as much as it hurt him, it was the right decision for the both of them at the time because they needed to heal for themselves, and for each other. And now, after 20 years, here he is, about to be face to face with Daisy Jones.

Now, Billy wasn't sure what to expect once Daisy opened the door, but he was relieved to see her smiling widely at him and he was reassured that she really did miss him as much as he had missed her, even after all these years.

"It's you." Daisy said happily as she continued to smile widely at him. "It's me." Billy said, smiling back at her.

Then, Daisy jumped into his arms, hugging him. It caught him off guard for a second, but then his instinct kicked in and he wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly. He didn't want to let go of her again. He was seriously enjoying this moment, but then, Daisy pulled away from him.

"I'm sorry.... I-I shouldn't have done that..." Daisy apologized, looking down, a tad embarrassed.

"Daisy, it's fine. Come here." Billy said, giving her a small smile. He then opened his arms back up for her and she looked up at him and smiled at him again before leaping back into his arms and Billy held onto her like his life depended on it. They both said in unison "I missed you." as they held each other in their arms.

They stood there for what felt like hours, wrapped in their warm embrace, Daisy didn't want to remove her head from lying on his shoulder, and Billy still didn't want to let go of her. But finally, he gently and carefully set her down, but he still had his arms wrapped around her and hers were still wrapped around him.

"It's really great to see you." Daisy said, lifting her head from his shoulder and looking up at him. "It's really great to see you, too." Billy said, smiling as he took his hand and gently brushed a strand of Daisy's hair from her face and she couldn't help but blush a little.

"So, uh... do you want to come in?" Daisy asked. "Yeah, I'd like that very much." Billy said as he continued to smile at her, she smiled back at him. "Come on in." Daisy said, smiling widely at him as she stepped out of the doorway and then Billy followed her inside to her living room.

"Can I get you anything? Water... tea... coffee...?" Daisy asked him. "I'm alright, Daisy. But thank you." Billy said as he sat down on the couch. "Of course." Daisy said as she gave him a small smile and he smiled softly at her. "So... I was wondering how long it'd be until I heard from you. Daisy said as she sat down next to him and picked her tea mug up from the coffee table, she then took a sip before setting it back down. "Yeah, well... I... I wanted to reach out to you sooner, I just... I could never quite figure out the right time..." Billy said as he looked down at the floor. "Yeah, me too..." Daisy said and then Billy lifted his head back up, smiling softly at her. "But then I got the push I needed. Jules asked about you, again. And then we talked about you for a while.
She could tell that I had you on my mind." Billy said. "Our little matchmaker." Daisy said, smiling. "Yeah, except she's not so little anymore. Which I still find myself trying to wrap my head around that sometimes." Billy said. "You did a great job with her, Billy." Daisy said. "Well thank you." Billy said, smiling softly at her. "She talked to me, too." Daisy said, breaking into a smile again. "About me..?" Billy asked, Daisy nodded. "Well, of course. After the main part of my interview with her. She started questioning me about my love life. I told her that with you... it was different." She said, her lips formed a smile again and then she continued. "Then, Jules asked me if I would ever want to do it again. You know... us." She told him. "And what did you tell her...?" Billy asked. "I told her that I didn't know how Camila would have felt about that, and she said that she did. Then she showed me the video that she recorded of her. Daisy said. "Yeah.... She showed me the video, too. Which I'm sure you already knew that.... " Billy said. "Yeah." Daisy said. "You know, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't surprised that Jules had a little help from Camila..." Billy said as he looked down at the floor.

"Billy... I'm so sorry... I-I wanted to be there, I really did. I just ended up thinking that maybe it wasn't appropriate, and that maybe you wouldn't want to see me, especially not there. You know, wrong place, wrong time." Daisy said, Billy shook his head. "There is nothing for you to apologize for, Daisy. You absolutely could have come. It would've been so good to see you. But, I am glad that we're having this conversation now." He said before looking back up at her, and he couldn't help but smile softly at her again, she smiled too. "Yeah, this was the right time. I do have a question for you." Daisy said. "Yeah...?" Billy asked. "Total honesty." Daisy said. "Total honesty. I promise." Billy said. "Alright. How many times have you listened to my songs on the radio?" Daisy asked him, Billy couldn't help but laugh softly. Gosh he missed how well she knew him. "Wow. You really don't waste any time, do you?" He said, Daisy shook her head, smiling softly. "No, and you know that. Now answer the question." She said, and he could tell by the sparkle in her eye that she already knew what he was about to say.

"Okay, you want the truth, and I promised. Here it is. Well, honestly I don't know if I could tell you the exact number of times. I'll just admit that there was a lot. And yes, I mean also extra times aside from Julia always playing your songs." Billy then laughed softly before continuing.

"Times when it was just me, alone. I would just sit there and think about you... and us. Especially after I had been pleasantly surprised that you officially released "It Was Always You". And I would listen to it and just think about where we could have been if things had gone differently."
Billy said as he gave her a small smile.

"So... You couldn't stay away, could you?" Daisy said. "No, not entirely. I Tried to keep tabs on you as much as I could, of course there wasn't much I was able to find in the news, which I understand why you wanted to keep a low profile from the tabloids." Billy said and she nodded. "Yeah... I did the same... wondering about you. I would listen to the album, a lot and just think about you, us, and how great things were for us on tour, aside from you know, the not so great stuff that happened. And you know that you were the greatest part about that time in my life. And, I'm sure you probably figured this out, but a lot of my songs from my solo albums, were about you." Daisy said as she picked her tea mug up and she took a sip before setting it back down on the coffee table.

"Yeah, I did. You know, that's something else I've been wanting to say to you. I couldn't be more proud of you, Daisy." Billy said as he smiled softly at her. "Well thank you. That means a lot coming from you." Daisy said, smiling softly at him. "I know." Billy said as he smiled at her and Daisy playfully rolled her eyes, but she still smiled back at him.

"You know I still work with Warren." Daisy said. "I do, he told me. Also, Karen would tell me little things, just to assure me that you were doing alright. She could tell when I was trying to hide my curiosity about you." Billy said. "I would talk to her about you, too. I couldn't really hide it from her. She could tell that I never lost my feelings for you. She would give me little updates from time to time, and when I asked about you." Daisy said. "Wow, I guess we really are bad liars, huh? Everyone could tell we never stopped thinking about each other." Billy said. "Yeah, we definitely are, more specifically you though. I mean, you were completely in deep denial even 20 years ago." Daisy said and then they both busted out laughing so hard and neither of them could stop, not that they wanted to.

Eventually, both of them were able to get their laughing under control and they just sat there, smiling at each other.

"Wait a second, I need to write something down." Daisy said before picking her journal off the coffee table and then she picked up her pencil and she started to write something down and he couldn't help but smile softly as he watched her scribble down in her journal. "Was this it?" Billy asked her, Daisy looked up at him curiously. "What?" She asked as she looked up at him curiously.

"That vision that you said you saw of us 20 years ago. Was this it?" Billy asked her and she immediately felt tears in her eyes at the fact that he had actually remembered that from 20 years ago.

"Well, let me see. Just us, laughing and being silly. Yeah, I think this is it." Daisy said, smiling softly at him and Billy smiled back at her. "Was it as perfect as you imagined it 20 years ago?" He asked her. "Even better." Daisy said, smiling at him and he smiled back at her.

"Okay, now it's time for the real reason I came here. Although after all of that, do I even need to say it?" Billy said as he smirked softly at her. "Well I wanna hear you say it." Daisy said, smiling as she smirked back at him. "Yeah, I totally didn't think you were going to say that." Billy said sarcastically and Daisy laughed. "Just say it, please?" She said, pleading him with her eyes, and of course he wasn't about to deny her request. This moment has been a long time coming for both of them, and he wasn't about to screw it up. This is finally their chance to be turkey together and truly happy and this moment has to be perfect, and he's going to give her exactly what she wants. He smiled widely at her.

"It was always you." Billy said as he cupped Daisy's face in his hands before he kissed her passionately and Daisy immediately kissed him back, she smiled into the kiss before she deepened it and then they wrapped their arms around each other and they had a little make out session on the couch.

Once they had to reluctantly pull apart from each other for air, they rested their foreheads against each other's as they continued to hold on to each other for dear life.
