It was five in the morning. You woke up due to the annoying sound of your alarm. You wanted to sleep more but you needed to prepare breakfast for Taehyung and then you yourself needed to go to the office for work. Unfortunately the maid needed to take a day off due to some personal reason. You groaned and got up the bed walking towards the bathroom to do your morning routine. After a while you came out of your room and went to the kitchen.
You and Taehyung were arranged for marriage. You guys went on a few dates arranged by your parents but those dates were really uncomfortable. There would always be an awkward silence. Taehyung didn't talk that much about himself or anything. You guys would usually walk down the streets or parks in silence.
You didn't believe in love so you weren't against it. The marriage was for both the companies profit to be exact. After marriage both of your fathers handed their companies to the two of you. The alliance between the two biggest companies in Korea and the hard work both of you put in it made it to the top.
Although he was cold, he never treated you badly. He would always respect your choice. He gave you a different room to stay in because you were uncomfortable staying in the same room as him. You knew the reason behind his cold behaviour. His mother already told you about it. There was a girl whom he loved with all his heart but that girl used him for money. The day Taehyung found out about her being a gold digger he made a wall around his heart so that nobody could hurt him again. You went to your room and got into the shower to get ready for work. You were having a headache from the morning but you couldn't ignore your work. You took a painkiller and went downstairs to eat your breakfast.
You saw Taehyung already eating his food. "Good morning." You greeted him. "Good morning." You opened your laptop and started looking at the presentation for today's meeting while eating your food. A few minutes passed and you heard Taehyung's voice. "Martha, please bring the strawberry milkshake." "She is on leave today Tae. I didn't know you would want more. You can have mine." You said and passed your glass. "Who cooked all this food then?" Taehyung asked you. "I did." You said still concentrating on the presentation if everything was right. But what you didn't notice was a pair of eyes admiring you. "No wonder it tastes different compared to other days." He mumbled. "Did you say anything Tae?" "No nothing."
Finally when you moved your eyes from the screen you saw most of the food was finished. You looked at Taehyung who was now drinking your strawberry milkshake. He didn't usually eat this much food. He would eat less. Taehyung caught you staring at him. "The food was delicious today." His face held a faded blush. "Thank you." You smiled at him. "Okay i will be leaving first. We also have a meeting at your company." He nodded. You got up and walked towards the car where the chauffeur was ready.
Taehyung's pov
Today the food tasted different than before. Even the milkshake was sweeter. The milkshake touching my bud was really refreshing. Today the start was good. I hope Martha would cook like this everyday. When I asked Martha to bring more of it y/n told me she was on leave and that she made breakfast today. I didn't know she could cook. Once I heard her mother saying that she hated going to the kitchen because she couldn't tolerate the heat. That was why I appointed a cook. What can this woman not do? From keeping the company on the top to maintaining the house and cooking she was an all rounder. She even changed the decoration of the house after marriage and to be honest it looked much more beautiful than before. I was really lucky to have her.

Now you were heading to Taehyung's office for the meeting. "Mam would you like to postpone the meeting or tell Sir to do the meeting instead of you? You are sick, you should take rest." Yeonjun, your secretary said. You knew he was right and that Taehyung wouldn't mind doing the presentation in your place but you didn't want to bother him and on top of that you liked to do your work on your own for self satisfaction. "Thank you for your concern Yeonjun but I will be fine. You know this meeting is really important for both the companies." You smiled at him.
Entering the meeting room you already saw Taehyung present there. After a while when all the people were present you started the meeting. You and Taehyung decided to expand your business and if you could seal the deal with this company it would really help a lot in the business world.
Taehyung's pov
I came to the meeting room earlier so that I could see her. I really adored her. She is nothing like my past. She was really different and this type of girl was really hard to find. When she entered the room she looked a little pale. I didn't have to look at the presentation because I knew everything would be perfect. She was a perfectionist. But I was worried about her health.
The man really liked our presentation and told us that he would work with us. It was a great joyous moment. I saw y/n excused herself and went somewhere. I walked towards Yeonjun while he greeted me. "What happened to y/n?" "Sir, Mam has been sick since morning. I asked her if it was possible for you to do the presentation but she insisted on doing it on her own." I nodded and walked towards my office while I told my secretary to search where y/n was.
Entering my office I saw her on the couch closing her eyes. I put my hand on her forehead and she was burning. She didn't move a bit. She was already asleep. I took her to my personal room in my office. I have a separate bedroom and bathroom in my office. After covering her with a warm duvet I called my doctor to check on her just in case she was sick for some other reason. After the doctor came and checked on her he confirmed that she overworked which led her health to deteriorate.
After the doctor checked on her I quickly got a bowl of water and damped a cloth in it before placing it on y/n's forehead. I repeated the process for an hour until her temperature reduced a little.
I informed my secretary to not allow anyone in my office today and not to disturb me. I saw y/n shift uncomfortably. I guess her dress was not that comfy. I went towards her and took off her blazer. I laid by her side while admiring her facial features. Suddenly she turned towards me snuggling into my chest wrapping a hand around my waist. I froze. It was the first time she was so close to me. My heart started beating like crazy. A blush crept on my cheeks feeling her so close. She looked so peaceful. I ran my hand through her soft, fluffy hair.
Author's pov
You woke up feeling yourself on a soft mattress. You turned around and saw Taehyung already looking at you. "Did you have a good sleep?" You nodded your head. "Get up, you need to eat the food I made for you." You turned around and hid yourself under the duvet. "Y/n wake up you can sleep after eating." You shook your head not wanting to get up. He pulled the duvet. "Tae please let me sleep. I will eat later." "Y/n please you are sick you need to take your medicine after eating."
You got up and leaned on the headboard. He came towards you with a bowl of hot soup. You made a weird face scrunching your nose. "What?" He questioned. "I don't want to have this bland food. It doesn't look like it tastes good." "Just have this once. I promise I won't make you eat this anymore." "Can we have a spicy fried chicken on our way home?" He nodded. 'Is she always this moody when she is sick?' Taehyung thought in his head.
"How does it taste?" He asked curiously. "Bland." Taehyung looked at you with a 'are you serious look'. "Tae?" You called him while he looked at you. "Yes?" "Do you always have to be so cold towards me? I mean you have a reason for being cold but not everybody is the same. You know I don't believe in love and all but I don't like your cold behaviour. Can we be friends? You don't need to change your behaviour, just be a little more free with me. If you know what I mean." He just nodded his head.
After finishing your food he handed you the medicine. "Let's go now. We have to go before all the take outs are closed." You said wearing your heels and taking your blazer.
"So what do you want to eat?" Taehyung said, stopping in front of a fast food restaurant. "Spicy fried chicken, a large pizza and two burgers." You smiled at him innocently. "Are you sure you are going to eat all of these?" "Yah I'm sick. You should fulfil all my wishes now." You pouted. "Don't pout, I'm gonna go and buy everything."
Entering the house you went to your room, took a warm shower and changed into something comfy. You went to the theatre room where you told Taehyung to join you. You were quite surprised that he came. He also placed all the food on the table. "Y/n don't you think you should sleep? We can watch the movie tomorrow." "Why do you always have to go around telling what to do and what not to. We are going to see a movie tonight, that's final." You sat next to him picking a movie.
"You could have at least dried your hair properly before coming here. You are sick, remember." He said, taking a towel, he dried your wet hair. You didn't respond to him and started watching the movie while he sighed. You started eating your pizza while you handed Taehyung a burger. He tried to refuse you but you forced him to eat.
Taehyung's pov
While I was watching the movie I felt a weight on my left shoulder. When I turned to my left I saw y/n sleeping soundly with a pout. Like a baby. I chuckled at her. She turned into a baby while she was sick. I wiped the sauce on the corner of her lips and looked at the mess in front of me. She did eat all the food. I carried her to my room and carefully tugged her under the duvet. "From today I promise I will be your best friend and make you believe in love." I kissed her forehead and went to sleep with her in my arms.
