(Makarov's POV)
Makarov is seen staring at an envelope in his office deep in thought
Makarov: 'A mission sent directly from the magic council can't mean anything good, I only wish that it's nothing to serious, that it would put any of my children in danger' Makarov thinks with great concern

(Flashback)
Makarov is seen drinking alcohol at the bar whilst watching his guild members fighting like every other day in the Fairy Tail guild when the doors of the guild are suddenly opened by a subordinate of the magic council
Makarov: 'WILL YOU FOOLS STOP FIGHTING ALREADY'
Everyone in the guild freezes instantly after hearing the bellowing voice of their guild master
Makarov: 'What is a member of the magic council doing here? Usually you don't hand deliver any complaints about the guild causing destruction somewhere' he says whilst standing up from the bar and sobering up instantly
Magic council member (MCM): 'I have been sent to deliver a job request to the guild master, the magic council expects the person who will be taking the mission to arrive at Era tomorrow at midday' he says whilst making his way towards Makarov and handing him an envelope with the request inside
Makarov: 'They only need one person?' he says with an eyebrow rising in curiosity
MCM: 'Only one from this guild, other guilds have also been contacted and are sending one member from their guilds to take on the mission as well. With that said I will be taking my leave' he says as he turns around and walks out of the guild hall
Makarov: 'A mission from the magic council, it must be serious to send someone to hand deliver the quest to the guilds chosen to partake'
(Flashback over)

Makarov starts to open the envelope that the council member deliver and read the mission inside it
Makarov: '"Dear Master Makarov of Fairy Tail, we are contacting you in regard to a mission that is of the utmost importance. We request that you send a member of your guild to join those picked by the other guilds to complete this quest, the member chosen must arrive at Era tomorrow midday and not a second late.
The mission that the wizard you have chosen will be to slay the black dragon of the apocalypse Acnologia, this is a result of resent sightings of the aforementioned dragon.

This is far worse than I imagined, I refuse to send one of my children to unavoidable death'
A look of terror on the old man's face suddenly morphs into sadness
Makarov: 'It appears that this will be my final services to the guild, I refuse to send any of my children. So the only option is to go myself, now the only question is who will replace me as guild master and become the 4th master of Fairy Tail?' A puzzled look over coming the man's face 'Gildarts would of been possibly the best choice out of everyone in the guild, he is strong, caring and is capable of keeping the others in check, however he isn't one to remain in one place for any extended period of time. Then there's Laxus, in resent years he has become difficult to work with, furthermore he isn't very connected to the majority of the guild being a main cause of conflict between members. There is also Mystogan but he is far to disconnect to the other members to be able to lead them. Erza would be a good choice, she keeps many of the members in check and is strong just like the others, however she can be very hard headed at times which will cause lots of problems when a complaint comes in from the council about some destruction regarding a village'
Makarov: 'There really is nobody that is truly capable of being the next master of this guild at the current time' he says looking out the window when a picture of him and two boys catches his eye 'Y/n. He could be a good replacement, he is strong enough to protect the guild from harm, he is intelligent enough to solve problems that occur and also kind, caring and excepting enough to show love and care to all who walk through those doors. Really the only problem is his age, he's only 15 far to young to run a guild but, he is definitely the best overall candidate in the guild'

(Y/n's POV)
Y/n is seen sitting around a table with a pink haired boy, a black haired boy, a red haired girl, a brown haired girl as well as a white haired boy and girl
Y/n: 'I wonder what the quest the magic council sent gramps is. It must be pretty important if they sent someone to deliver it to him'
Pink haired boy: 'Whatever it is I bet I could handle it with my eyes closed'
Black haired boy: 'Well I could handle it with my eyes closed and my arms tied behind my back'
Pink haired boy: 'Oh yeah ice princess, well I could handle it without even using my magic'
Suddenly the pink haired boy and the black haired boy start butting heads and arguing between themselves
Red haired girl: 'Stop it the two of you' she says whilst pushing the two away from each other possibly breaking their necks
Y/n: 'Seriously Natsu, Gray I doubt the mission will be anything non S-class wizards could handle'
Natsu+Gray: 'WHATS THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN'
Brown haired girl: 'He's saying the two of you are way over your heads thinking a mission from the magic council would be anything less than an S-class quest'
Red haired girl: 'Y/n is right tho, if the mission was anything simple they wouldn't personally deliver it to the guild. This mission must be minimum an S-class quest, most likely it will be far more difficult then any other quest that comes through the guild doors, I believe it is mostly likely at least an SS-class quest'
Y/n: 'Erza's probably right, the magic council never send people to deliver messages to people unless it is of the utmost importance, with that in mind the mission won't be like anything any of us have done before'
???: 'So the random quest from the council has you lot confused as well'
The group turn to see two older wizards standing next to the table, one with slicked back purple hair and the other with a brown pompadour and a cigarette in his mouth
Gray: 'Yeah, it just doesn't make sense what the council could be so concerned about to deliver the quest personally. You two got any ideas Macao, Wakaba?'
Wakaba: 'Nah, this has never happened in the whole time I have been at the guild, and I have been here since before any of you were even born'
Macao: 'Cana have you tried using your fortune telling magic to try and predict what the quest might be?' he says whilst turning his attention towards the brown haired girl
Cana: 'Yeah but no luck, all I see is the master in tears then it gets increasingly unclear what is happening to the point all I could make out is a forest consumed by fire and blood staining all the life that hadn't been destroyed or burned'
Wakaba: 'It's clear then that what ever happens on the mission could be linked to the crying image of the master you saw prior to the vision becoming unclear'
White haired girl: 'Let's not think about that right now, the master is reading over the mission as we speak it's best we just wait until he comes out of his office. With that said would anyone like a drink?' she says followed by a beautiful smile which everyone could tell was hiding her concern
Erza: 'No thank you Mira but I appreciate the other'
Mira: 'Is that a no for everyone, you usually jump at the chance for some alcohol Cana, Wakaba, Macao, Elfman you usually take up the other as well. I told you all that u til the master comes out with his decision we must behave like normal, we can't have the master getting worried about us especially if what Cana saw is true'
Y/n: 'We know Mira, but knowing gramps might start sheafing tears for whatever reason doesn't put my mind at ease enough to have a drink of any kind'
Suddenly the sound of a door opening attracts the attention of everyone in the guild towards the master's office
Natsu: 'Seems he's made his decision'
Master Makarov starts walking down the stairs towards the ground floor where he starts making his way towards the basement before stoping before the stairs
Makarov: 'Y/n, come we have much to discuss' he said with a somber tone in his voice before heading down the stairs to the basement
Y/n: 'I'll see you all in a bit' he said as he makes his way towards the basement stairs and follows his grandfather down towards the basement of the guild
Macao: 'It seems the master has chosen Y/n for the mission, which is slightly surprising. Even if Y/n is an S-class wizard he is still only 15'

Y/n: 'Gramps why are we down in the basement of the guild, I assume you have chosen me to take on the quest given by the magic council, couldn't we have discussed the details of the mission in your office?'
Makarov: 'You are wrong my boy, I haven't chosen you to be the one to take on the quest'
Y/n: 'Then why did you need to speak to me?' he says whilst following his grandfather past the basement and down a secret passage
Makarov: 'Because I needed to show you something, what I show you, you must never speak of to anyone. A secret of the guild passed on from one guild master to the next, just like Master Precht passed the secret onto me when I became the 3rd guild master I will pass it on to you' he finished as they arrived in front of a door in a room with the Fairy Tail mark on the floor
Y/n: 'Hold on gramps, a secret passed on from one guild master to the next. Why would you show me something like that?'
Makarov: 'I have decided I will take on the quest sent by the magic council, the fact is I know I won't return from this quest. So I need to a point a 4th guild master before I leave, I have decided you are the one that will become the new guild master my boy, you have everything that is needed to be one' he says whilst smiling at his grandson with tears threatening to leave his eyes
Y/n: 'I refuse'
Makarov: 'Y/n, this isn't time for this'
Y/n: 'I refuse to let you leave for this mission gramps, I can't allow you to go on a quest that you know you won't return from.'
Makarov: 'Enough Y/n, now for you to see Fairy Tail's ultimate secret' he face shifting into one of seriousness
Makarov starts waving his right hand in front of him, whilst performing hand signs, almost like he was creating a magic circle. When he suddenly stops the door slowly starts to open inwards as an overwhelming amount of magic energy leaks out from the room the door opened into
Y/n: 'What the hell is this?'
Makarov: 'Fairy Tail's ultimate secret and it's most powerful weapon............ Lumen Historia'
