you stare at the small box that you held, jimin the tag read. you look back at mina, hoping she would tell you what to do with the gift
it was the day after christmas, and as you were opening presents you had found a small box from jimin
"so?" mina raised an eyebrow, "open it!"
"i'm worried" you sighed, "why did he even give this to me? i'm not seeing him in a week, and what if he asks about it?"
"uh, say you opened it?" she gave you a look
"but what if i don't like it?"
"well open it so you can see if you like it or not" mina suggested, she was more curious than you to see what was inside the box
you huffed, tugging on one of the ends of the ribbon which was tied onto the box. the small ribbon falls onto your bed. you lift the top, revealing a silver bracelet with a heart shape pendant in the middle
"aw he got you a promise bracelet" mina admire the bracelet jimin had given you
your eyes gleamed, "its really sweet of him.." you eyed the bracelet, admiring each detail
"he gave you this because he trusts you" mina shook you, making sure you were understanding what the give meant
"i understand that, but the thing is that i don't trust him" you confessed, "he gave me this since he loves me, but i can't accept since i don't feel the same"
"y/n" mina pressed her lips together before speaking, "trust me, he loves you and i know deep down you do. once you fall in love with him, you can accept it"
"i was being foolish for liking him" you admit, "i need some time to re gain his trust"
"trust me" mina let out a sigh, "i can't even trust yoongi, that's why i cut him off"
"you aren't upset?" you questioned, knowing she was heart broken last time
"i'm seeing jungkook anyway" mina smiled, but deep down she had a weird gut feeling
it seemed odd mina wasn't seeing yoongi anymore but the boy yoongi despite. mina felt like when she told him they were done, it was her way to get a break from each other. but clearly yoongi didn't think in that way
"jungkook?" you said in shock
"yeah, he invited me to the arcade" mina looked at her phone, "i should be going soon"
"before you go, what do i do with the bracelet?"
"you can wear it" mina eyes traced the bracelet, "or wear it when you finally like him"
"i feel bad if i don't wear it" you played with the heart pendant that dangle from the bracelet's wrist brand
mina gave you a look, "wear it to the news years party, and if he asks, show him. then explain why you can't accept it"
"and break his heart?" you raised an eyebrow
"he's broken enough hearts himself" mina played with her hair, making sure it looked good, "i should be going"
"see you" you smiled, watching mina run out of your room

"you made it" jungkook laughed in delighted, noticing mina from a far
"i didn't have anything plan today" she smiled
"my parents are going crazy over boxing day" jungkook let out a snort, reminding himself of how chaotic his parents were on discounts
"i always forget that happens today" mina spoke
jungkook pressed his lips together, "come on, we didn't come to the arcade to just stand here"
jungkook grabbed mina by the wrist, running off with her to the arcade games
"jungkook let go!" mina shouted
"i won't" he snickered, "wanna play basketball?" jungkook held a basketball in his hand
"i suck" mina sighed as jungkook threw her a ball
the two began playing the arcade's version of basketball. as the two made shots, mina froze
yoongi is all she thought about. him and her would go onto the court and play, since yoongi devolved a passion for ball in freshman year, but quit the team in junior year since he had to due do his grades. this was their thing, and now she was playing it with someone else
"beat yah" jungkook nudge mina in the shoulder
"i was processing something!"
"like how you're paying for dinner tonight?" jungkook pointed out
"best out of three pays okay?" mina crossed her arms
"does this round count?" jungkook raised an eyebrow
"no!"

"guess you won" jungkook handed a twenty dollar bill to the cashier at the front, soon grabbing a tray with both of your guys food
mina lowered her eyes, "come, that table is free"
jungkook and mina had decide to go to a local burger place, which were know for their freshly made potato wedges
mina tapped her nails against the table, she had been her before with yoongi. yoongi had brought her here after a game back in tenth grade. she loved going to this place with him since they had a special order. but now the man in front of her wasn't the dirty blonde, but a more muscular, black haired male
"you've been here?" jungkook noticed how quiet mina was
"i had been here with someone..." mina rubbed her hands together, "but that person isn't important anymore, only you"
"i'm so happy we can finally be—" jungkook placed his hand onto hers, "—alone" Mina's checks had a pink tint, hearing him say that
"also sorry for walking out on you at karaoke" mina rubbed her neck, her body was a tense
"forget about it" jungkook took a bite of his potato wedge, "trust me, i left right after as well. i was going to call you, but i didn't want to bother you"
mina opened her coke bottle, "you wouldn't have been" she smiled
jungkook took a bite of his burger, "also, are you coming saturday?"
"for what?" mina questioned him, forgetting about new years
"the news year party? at my place?"
"oh yeah, i think my friend and i will come" mina grabbed a wedge, before taking a bite
"sounds good" a smirk was present on his lips
"i should get going" mina noticed the the time on the wall
"don't be in a rush" jungkook noticed mina's facial expression
"it's getting late" she pointed out, noticing it already had turned eleven
"well let me walk you to your car" jungkook got up from his spot
the two made their way outside, leaving their meals in the restaurant
"it was nice to talk" she smiled, unlocking her car
"yeah it was" jungkook met eyes with mina, her eyes soften. mina never made eye contact with yoongi ever this way, it felt special
"i'll talk to you soon" mina opened her car door, driving away into the streets
"i want her"
