It's been almost 2 weeks since you've joined the ever so unpopular Class E. It's not that you didn't like the class. It was just... Weird. Who would've thought the worst capable class would be chosen to assassinate such a powerful yet obnoxious... Octopus. It was no doubt that the teacher Koro-sensei was an extremely good teacher, but it was hard to get over the fact he wasn't exactly human. What was he?
It was 3rd period, which was of those subjects that you weren't good at, but weren't bad at, either: Chemistry. Your lab partner, a rather tomboyish girl, Nagisa, who had a rather interesting light blue hair tied in pigtails, said that she wasn't so good in science, including chemistry. Nonetheless, she was nice, but had many boyish qualities, such as wearing a male school uniform and hanging out with most of the boys in the class. Not to mention you swear you saw her enter the boy's bathroom once.
You'd think that Nagisa would be an easy person to talk to, but whenever you try to make conversation, you get strangely nervous. She's just another girlfriend, so it should be no sweat. If she was a boy, then that'd be a different story, but Nagisa was 100% female. In the middle of the period, Nagisa stood up, saying she was going to use the restroom.
"Oh, I'll go with you!" You stand up as well, realizing that you hadn't gone since yesterday. Not that you were going to tell her that. Nagisa gives you a strange a look, as if it was abnormal for you to use the bathroom.
"But... You can't..." She says to you in a very confused way.
"...why not?" You ask in the same confused tone.
"Well, we can't go in the same bathroom together... We're different genders."
"We are?!" You stumble back at her... his statement. Thinking about it, it actually made a lot of sense, but at the same time it didn't. It was hard to process.
"Uh... Yeah... I'm a boy. And you're a girl... Right?" Nagisa started to overcomplicate everything.
"Um... I think?" You reply in an uncertain tone. This whole situation was making you question your own gender as well.
Everything just got really complicated, embarrassing, and confusing all at the same time. For a whole two weeks, you thought that the girl who sat next to you in class and handed you beakers everyday was, well... A girl. After Nagisa left for the bathroom, you just stand there, dumbfounded, ignoring Koro-sensei's lecture on amino acids. One of your classmates, a red-headed boy named Karma walks up to you with a devilish smile.
"That's an interesting face you've got there." He teased you, "Did something happen with Nagisa?" You remember that Nagisa was good friends with this Karma kid. You've also heard how good he was at assassination, and the rumors were proven correct just by looking into his eyes. What bloodlust. Shaking that off, you immediately shower Karma with frantic questions.
"Is Nagisa really a boy? Why does she... he wear pigtails then? Is he transgender? Or bisexual?" You found these questions to be rather insulting to Nagisa, but you weren't thinking about it at the time. It just slipped out. Karma gave a mischievous chuckle.
"To be honest, I don't even know anymore myself." He shrugged nonchalantly, "You should probably ask Nagisa those questions." He winks at you before cocking his head towards the doorway. There, you see Nagisa reentering the room. "Good luck." Karma holds up a peace sign and strolls off to the other side of the classroom.
"B-but..!!" You try to protest, but Karma is already leaving and Nagisa was already coming. You bite your lip and mutter to yourself, "It's embarrassing..." You feel the heat in your cheeks rise up.
"Did you say something?" Nagisa asks as he walks up to you. He acted as if the whole gender mishap didn't happen. All you can do is shake your head frantically. Nagisa suspiciously cocks his head, and gets closer you. The red in your cheeks deepens. Now that you knew Nagisa was a boy, it was hard to stay calm with him around. "You're all red. Do you have a fever?" Nagisa leans in and puts his hand on your forehead, which only enhanced the redness and heat in your face.
"I-I'm fine!" You find the strength to push Nagisa away, only to hear a loud crashing sound. When you look up, you find that you had pushed Nagisa into a shelf of empty beakers, causing him to bleed a bit from the broken glass. You let out a little gasp and rushed over to the poor boy. "I'm so sorry...!! It was just a reflex..." You sputter uncontrollably. It was then when Koro-sensei finally turned around.
"Oh! Nagisa, are you alright?" He started to pick him up with ease using those rather strange tentacles. You found it weird that it was just now that the octopus noticed the commotion. Did he not hear you yelling when you found out Nagisa's true gender? But there was no time for that, you tell yourself, as you try to wipe the blood off of him with part of your uniform shirt.
"Why don't you take him to the infirmary while we clean up here. I don't know what happened, but I'm sure you kids will solve it together." Koro-sensei tells you, patting your head with a wiggly tentacle.
"Wait, we have an infirmary?" One of the students asks as if it was the strangest, most bizarre thing ever. "Do we even have a nurse?" Another student added in.
You shudder at the feeling of Koro-sensei petting you in such a way, but nod in response.

In the rather crappy infirmary, Nagisa lay in the stiff bed as you carefully bandage him up. There was no nurse, and you barely even called this an infirmary. It was just a dingy room with a cabinet of cheap medical supplies and a stiff cot. It's usually what to expect for Class E.
"I didn't mean to push you that hard... I never wanted to hurt you..." You apologize solemnly. Nagisa turns on his side and gives you a weak smile.
"It's alright. Maybe your strength will come in handy in an assassination attempt. And I promise you, I'm fine." He says. You were surprised on how easily he could talk about assassination when he was in such pain. Your breathing grew heavy with guilt, and you couldn't bare to look at him any longer. Trying to avoid eye contact, you look down and grip the hem of your uniform skirt.
"Hey..." Nagisa gently reaches out and tips your chin up with his hand. He gives you an impish, yet cheerful and sincere smile, "If I can't take on this much, how can I ever expect to kill our teacher?" He asked. You couldn't help but smile back at him. There was the slightest bit of bloodlust in his eyes, but it was hard to tell.
You spend a little more time taking care of Nagisa's injuries when you suddenly start to yawn a bit. You try to brush off your sleepiness and continue but Nagisa grabs your wrist.
"Are you tired?" Nagisa asked, pulling at your hand. He slowly scooted over on the cot to make more room, "Wanna sleep with me?" He asked as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
"W-w-what?! B-but you... And I...." You kept fumbling over your words, feeling your cheeks getting hot again. Nagisa couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.
"If you still thought I was a girl, you'd probably do it." He remarked. You blush even harder. It was actually true. If you still thought Nagisa was a female, it would've been no problem. But since he was a boy, getting into bed with him wasn't as easy.
"B-but you're not a girl!" You protest. Nonetheless, Nagisa didn't let go of your hand. In fact, he pulled on you so hard that you fell right on top of him on the cot. At this unexpected surprise, Nagisa started to blush as well.
"S-sorry... I didn't mean to pull you that hard." He looked away, avoiding eye contact. You quickly get off of him, sitting on the edge of the cot. Nagisa looked towards you finally. "But you might as well sleep with me..." He added in quietly.
As you sit on the uncomfortable-looking cot, it was actually kind of soft. It was then you realized how sleepy you were, and silently nodded. You lay down next to Nagisa, turning on your side so your facing each other. You stare right into his deep blue eyes, and he stares right back. You want to make conversation, but just laying next to the boy made you too anxious to form proper sentences. Then a thought crossed your mind.
"Nagisa?" You call out to him. Nagisa cocks his head and blinks twice in response. "Lab partners are supposed to be of the same gender, right? Why are you mine? Since your a boy and all...." You ask awkwardly, fidgeting with your hands.
"Oh, well, I..." Nagisa seemed to be having trouble with finding the right words. "When you first came into the class, I didn't have a lab partner at the time... Koro sensei didn't want me to partner up with a girl, but I begged him to." He admitted.
"But why?" You question on, seeing if you could push your luck with him a little further.
"Well..." Nagisa averted his gaze before looking at you straight in the eye, "There was something about you... That made me want to be with you... To spend time with you. You just had a certain charm..." He explained.

NAGISA'S POV - 2 weeks ago
"Did you her we got another new student?" Isogai asked me as he sat down in his desk. It was the first time I'd heard the news.
"Really?" Kaede asked energetically as she sauntered into the classroom. She looked pretty excited. Something vibrated in my pocket, so I reached in and pulled out my cell phone. On the screen was Ritsu.
"I heard she's transferring from Class D due to poor grades..." The peppy purple-haired digital girl explained. Her image disappeared on my phone screen and reappeared on the screen of the giant black box that stood near the back of the room. "I haven't learned much about her since her data is unavailable to me, but I hope she's quite friendly!" She said enthusiastically.
A student dropping from Class D to E. That's every student's worst nightmare, to end up in the end class. This girl must be so scared, and I don't blame her. Class E is a pretty much the end of the line. All us academic rejects end up here, and it's almost impossible to work your way back up.
But hey, another new student means another valuable asset for assassination.
It wasn't long before this new mysterious student timidly shuffled into the classroom. She had the usual 'new girl' expression: shy, nervous, and she was even blushing a bit. I did notice that she was kinda pretty. Everything about her had a certain charm, and I can't help but feel drawn to her.
That's when I realized when Koro sensei had entered the classroom along with the new student.
"Alright, everyone, take your seats." The octopus started, before using his tentacle to gesture to the new girl, "Today, we have a new student. Make sure you make her feel welcome, and don't forget that you now have another valuable ally for assassination." He said the reminder so casually as if it was the most normal thing in the world, "There's an empty seat next to Nagisa, over there. Go ahead and have a seat."
The new girl shyly nodded and started to walk in my direction. What am I supposed to say? What is she like? Questions just run through my head, and my curiosity increases with every step she takes towards me.
I've never felt like this before.
"Hi..." She mutters to me before shrinking into her seat, as if she didn't really feel like being here. She didn't really look nervous or shy anymore. She actually looked like she was sulking or pouting. I wouldn't blame her. This is the End Class. All I can do is hide my true emotions and curiosity and play it cool.
"Hey." I reply simply. That's all there was to say. She didn't try to make conversation, nor did she look like she wanted to. So there was nothing more to talk about. I just leaned back in my chair and listened to the lecture.
I managed to somehow weasel my way into being her lab partner, and I've learned so much about her. She's charming in a unique way, and I've found myself getting closer to her. I even helped her with her first assassination attempt. Two weeks have rolled by since then, and now I've been having this odd pain in my stomach whenever I look at her, and I start to get hot. What is this feeling? Am I starting to hate her? No, that couldn't be it. I spend a lot of time with her. Then, Karma said something to me that changed everything.
"When are you gonna make a move on her? You're obviously head over heels for that new chick." He had teased me.
He was right. It wasn't hate. It was the exact opposite, in fact. I finally realized what it was all along...

YOUR POV - back to the present
You just stare straight at him as Nagisa told his story. Even his voice drew you in, and you couldn't believe what his voice was saying.
"And now that I've grown closer to you..." He starts. You heart starts to race a bit.
"I think I might be in love with you..."
Your racing heart comes to a halt, stopping and skipping a beat before pumping a million miles an hour. Was this really a confession? Did Nagisa really love you? Your head spun so much, it wouldn't be surprising if you died right here and now.
"W-whaaaaaa?!" Was all you could manage to get out of your mouth. Nagisa shrunk back, looking timid and regretful.
"N-nevermind! Forget I said anything." He said quickly trying to cover it up.
"B-but I can't!" Why was your heart beating so fast? There was a tug on your heart strings. What did all this mean? Then it hits you. You had known it all along. Ever since you discovered Nagisa's true gender (which was barely an hour ago), it had been clear, but you wanted to reject it. Your true feelings.
"I.." You sputter, "I-I!" All that would come out of your mouth was I, until you finally blurt it out.
"I think I'm... In love with you too!"
At that moment, all was silent. Nagisa stared right at you, you stared back. Both laying silently on the cot, facing each other, the two of you were blushing. You thought about leaving the room, embarrassed, but it was Nagisa who made the first move. In one quick movement, his lips were touching yours. You were kissing. Nagisa was kissing. You were kissing each other. You and Nagisa were kissing.
Your mind sort of went blank after that. You became unaware of your surroundings, and just melt in Nagisa's embrace and give in to the touch of his lips.

"M-mmmmmm...." You wake up to the loud school bell ringing from outside. Apparently, school was over for the day, and you had fallen asleep. You try to get up, but something holds you pinned down to the bed. A force pulling you from behind.
Turning over, you see Nagisa's sleeping face in front of you, wrapping his skinny arms around your waist. Even if he was sleeping, and had a weak physique, the boy was strong.
You smile gently as you watch the boy as he slept. He seemed so innocent, so childish , so vulnerable when his slept. You found it the cutest thing ever. There was still a warm sensation on you lips from his intense, emotion-filled kisses. The words he said to you were as clear as day.
"I think I might be in love with you..."
And the words you said back:
"I think I'm... In love with you too!"
It made your heart race, just thinking about it. But the two of you really did confess, and really did kiss.
It doesn't matter now. You were Nagisa's and Nagisa was yours. You reaffirmed that on this very cot. Nagisa made it perfectly clear that they were now officially going to be an item without even having to say it.
He still squeezed you tightly, as if he refused to let you go, but still remained asleep. His precious sleeping face belonged to you now, and no one else.
Even if you did think he was a girl at first.

Well there you have it! The long awaited Nagisa x Reader! I'm pretty sure there could be more to it, so maybe I'll make it into a two-shot! But I'll be constantly editing and revising this one to improve it XD
