Consequences
"Hey there, beautiful."

Amidst the chaotic events that had transpired, you found yourself lying on a bed of lush green grass, next to Jean, in a vast expanse of fields that stretched out as far as the eye could see.

The starry night sky above was a breathtaking sight, with countless glittering stars twinkling like diamonds, casting a soft glow on the entire landscape. The tranquil peace of the night was only interrupted by the gentle sound of your breathing, as you lay next to Jean, lost in thought, reliving the fond memories of the old times.

As you gazed up at the glittering stars that adorned the night sky, you felt a sense of calmness wash over you as you enjoyed Jean's presence. Despite the rough start to the evening, any lingering chaos had dispersed, leaving behind a serene atmosphere that allowed you to relax and enjoy the moment. Your heart beat steadily as you processed your thoughts.

After a few moments of silence, a gentle sensation grazed against your hand. You remained still, feeling Jean's warm hand enclose your own. Your heart raced as you welcomed his touch, and a wave of shivers ran up your arm, causing you to grip his hand tightly.

_______

A few hours before.

———

Once you finished your work for the day, you made your way to the hospital to visit Marco. As you entered his room, you exchanged pleasantries and asked how he was feeling. Your conversation mostly revolved around work-related matters, but you couldn't help but feel the need to confide in him about a personal issue. After some contemplation, you decided to share your concerns about Jean and seek his advice on the matter.

Marco's gaze rested on you as you sat in a chair pulled up beside the bed. "I don't think Jean would be that intimate with you if he didn't mean it," he said reassuringly. But despite his words, worry gnawed at you, making it difficult to relax. "Yeah, I guess," you replied, your voice soft. "I'm just scared of what the relationship will become. What if it goes wrong? The last thing I want to do is jeopardize the group." You sighed, feeling the weight of your concerns pressing down on you. "Look, I shouldn't tell you this but Jean had been thinking about breaking up with Pieck for a while." he stopped for a moment before speaking, "He wanted to break up with her because he wanted you. Plus, he had been unhappy for a while but whenever he was with you." Marco smiled softly at you, his words of honesty lingered in the air. Your heart felt like it twisted around, shivers were sent up your spine and your mind's conflict eased. "Well, I guess I shouldn't doubt it then..." you said with a soft smile. Marco nodded and settled more comfortably into the bed. "Exactly, no need to worry. Now, go enjoy yourself tonight," he reassured you, his eyes drooping with fatigue, his voice smooth as silk. "Alright, I'll catch you later," you said as you stood up, giving Marco a small wave before exiting, to which he responded with a nod and a wave of his own.

You exited the hospital and saw a text from Connie.

Cornetto
yooo, I saw on snap maps you're at the hospital and I'm passing by. Want me to pick you up so you don't have to pay for a cab?

You
aw thanks con, i would appreciate that

Cornetto
alright, I'll be 5 mins

As you stood outside the hospital, you anxiously waited for Connie's arrival. Moments later, you spotted his car approaching and pulled up in front of you. Despite knowing that parking there was against the rules, Connie had stopped just for you. With a sense of urgency, you quickly jumped into the front passenger seat of his car, eager to get going. "Yo," he grinned at you, clearly happy to see you. "Connie, you're not supposed to be parked here so I would speed off now." You laughed. Connie's eyes widened as he realised. "Shit-" he quickly put his car into drive and speeded off. You laughed as he gripped onto the seatbelt that you managed to just about click in, "Christ, Connie."
He laughed with you, changing gear as he pulled up to stop at the traffic lights. "Sorry, Y/N."

"It's okay, thank you for picking me up." You smiled at him. "It's no problem, anytime for you." He winked, and you giggled in response. Connie couldn't help but snicker as he saw the smile on your face drop to a shocked one. "So, I heard through the grapevine that Jean and you are getting all hot with each other," he said with a sly grin.

The room suddenly felt uncomfortably hot, and you couldn't believe what you were hearing. "Oh my god. Don't tell me he told everyone," you said, blinking harshly as you tried to process the situation. "No, no. He just told me. We're best friends, believe it or not, we do tell each other things."

As you let out a deep breath, you felt a sense of relief wash over you. You were thankful that Jean had kept quiet about the situation and had not gone around telling everyone. However, you couldn't help but wonder if it would have been better if he had told Eren instead of Connie. After all, Connie had a reputation for being a bit of a gossip, while Eren was more trustworthy and discreet. As much as you loved Connie and would trust him with your life, you wouldn't trust him not telling everyone your juicy secrets.
"Oh really?" you snickered at his proud demeanour. "Yes. Jean and I have been best friends since college, he tells me everything."

You turn to Connie with a sarcastic tone and say, "Wow, he trusts you that much. No way?" Your friend chuckles and looks at you, "Damn, Y/N? You don't trust me?" The light turns green and he starts driving again. You try to lighten the mood and joke, "I'm terrified sitting in the car with you."
He responded with the same level of sarcasm as you did and said, "I am going to intentionally crash now." You might have found his response amusing as he seemed to have taken your sarcastic comment in stride and replied with a witty retort, "Sounds great." You laughed.

Connie pulled into the apartment complex's parking lot. "Let Sasha know I've arrived. I'll wait for you both to get ready and then we can head to my place."

You nodded, "Sure thing. I'll be quick."

"Perfect," Connie said with a chuckle, unlocking the car for you to exit. "See you soon," you replied, a smile spreading across your face, eager for the evening ahead.

You made your way to your apartment and unlocked the door, you shouted down the hallway to Sasha letting her know you were home and that Connie was downstairs. "Okay!" She cheerfully shouted back. You walk into your room and open your closet to find an outfit. You chose a relaxed yet stylish outfit for the game night. Swapping out your work attire, you slipped into a pair of straight-legged baggy jeans that hugged your hips just right. On top, you wore a soft grey crop top that complemented the jeans perfectly. Slipping your feet into your classic-old Converse high-tops, you added a touch of sparkle with delicate jewellery around your neck and on your fingers. You took your hair out of its confined ponytail and brushed it out, you grabbed your hair curlers and turned them on. You placed them carefully down onto your heat-proof matt and peeked your head out of your door to call for Sasha. She swiftly made her way out of her room towards you, she couldn't help but admire her cute outfit. She wore a tight long-sleeved dark-green top, completing it with a pair of low-waist boot-cut jeans with a pair of cowboy boots. "You look pretty," you smiled at her, and she returned the same smile. "So do you, babycakes," She returned the compliment.
You giggled at her nickname, walking over to your vanity, and sitting down in the chair for Sasha to curl your hair.

Sasha had a playful grin on her face as she picked up the hair curler. "So, are you excited to see Jean?" she asked, her eyes twinkling mischievously. The mere mention of his name caused a faint blush to spread across your cheeks as you replied, "I'm very excited." Sasha chuckled, then began to expertly curl your hair. As she worked, she couldn't resist teasing you a little. "So, how was it the other night?" she asked, winking at you in the mirror. You bit your lip, your mind drifting back to the memories of what had happened that night. "It was nice," you replied softly, a faint smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. "It was just nice? Come on, Y/N. You've got to tell me more than that." She continued to tease you, curious to know the juicy details of your night.

"Let's just say he certainly knows how to use his fingers," you said with a cheeky grin, catching Sasha's eye through the reflection in the mirror. Sasha let out a surprised gasp before bursting into laughter, "No way!"
"Absolutely," you chuckled, enjoying the playful moment. "So, have you two discussed what this all means?"
"Not yet, but I'm planning to bring it up soon," you replied, feeling a blend of excitement and nervous anticipation about the conversation ahead. "It'll be okay," she smiled reassuringly, finishing off the curls in your hair. "I know," you returned the smile. "Now come on, let's meet Connie. He's probably bored out of his mind," she laughed happily.

————

As soon as Sasha and you approached Connie's car, he welcomed Sasha with a friendly embrace. You both then hopped into the car and settled in for the ride to his place, eagerly anticipating what was to come next. You all conversed about all sorts, you were all excited.

Before, getting to Connie's house, you all went shopping in Walmart for food and drinks.

As soon as you arrived at Connie's house, you took all the items you had bought from the store and carried them into the kitchen. The moment you looked around, you couldn't help but feel amazed. Compared to Eren's house, which you had previously thought was quite spacious, Connie's place was massive. The sheer size of it was impressive, and you found yourself taking a moment to appreciate the grandeur of the space. You carefully opened the bags and removed the drinks, placing them on the counter. All the while, you couldn't help but marvel at the vastness of the house.
"I know right? The place is pretty sick." Connie grinned, proud of his home. "Yeah, it is." You flashed a grin in return as the man spoke. Just then, Sasha appeared from behind him, setting down a tray of delicious-looking snacks on the kitchen counter, "If you think that's impressive, you should see what Jean's place, it's a lot nicer," he affirmed as he grabbed some bowls and glasses out of the cupboards. "Damn, really?" You asked, intrigued. "You haven't been over yet?" Sasha raised a brow, "No." You let out a soft chuckle. "Don't worry, I'm sure he'll invite you over soon," Connie winked and grabbed snacks for the living room, nudging you with a smile that sent shivers down your spine as you thought about Jean.

————

Before long, the rest of your friends had arrived, and you all gathered in the cosy living room, sitting cross-legged on the floor in a circle. You couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves as you eagerly anticipated the arrival of Jean. You heard the doorbell ring and you quickly said that you would open the door, as you left you heard Sasha and Connie giggle. You approached the door and opened it, revealing Jean's tall figure, you instantly smiled as you met his gaze. He was wearing a dark green hoodie and black jeans with a pair of Converse. You analysed the silver rings that were wrapped around his long fingers, it appeared he had a few new ones added. "Hey there, beautiful," he smiled at you.

Your face instantly heated up as he exchanged those words, your cheeks adorned with a light shade of pink. You stood there like a deer in headlights, struggling to find your words, you felt extremely flustered. Jean relished in your nervousness, he found it adorable. A grin was plastered on his face as he waited for a response. You inhaled a deep breath before speaking, "Hey there, handsome." You giggled, giving him a wink as you returned the compliment, taking a page from his book. His face blushed red as he kept his smile plastered on his face, he leaned down and whispered in your ear. "Tread lightly, sweetheart."
Your smile slightly dropped as your heart pounded against your chest. "Try me," you whispered back into his. He looked at you with a smirk, "Later at my place. But, be careful you may not be able to walk tomorrow." His tone of voice was low and gravelly, shivers were sent down your spine as you thought about his words. You met eyes with him, a playful grin now on your face, "If you're lucky." You winked at him as you turned and started to walk away into the living room.

After you, he entered the room and gave a warm greeting to all of his friends. You took a seat beside Sasha, while Jean sat on your other side.
Connie handed Jean a beer while also grabbing the box of cards against humanities. He opened the box and distributed 7 cards to everyone, "Okay, Eren you go first." Connie nodded to Eren who was sitting next to him. "Okay," he chuckled, grabbing the first prompt.

Everyone played quite a few rounds and surprisingly you were winning, you luckily had good cards. All of you were laughing and conversing about the previous cards that had been played.

After about an hour or two, you all decided to stop playing and play some drinking games. The alcohol was flowing through you, everyone was having a good time. Connie was blasting music on his phone through the large speaker that was next to his TV.

[Hey Alexa, Play 'On the Floor by Jennifer Lopez]

Everyone raised their glasses high, toasting to friendship and the promising years that lay ahead. The room echoed with laughter and joy, a vibrant celebration of shared memories.

As Connie flicked on the disco lights, casting colourful beams across the living room, it was a clear reminder of his eccentricity and seemingly how much money this man had. The sparkling lights danced in rhythm with the pulsating music, creating an atmosphere of pure exhilaration.

Sasha, Mikasa, and you found yourselves drawn together, your voices merging in harmonious song, filling the air with melodies that echoed the bonds of friendship and the joy of the present moment.

In the centre of it all, Connie showcased his unique talents, executing the worm with impressive agility and flair, drawing cheers and applause from the circle of friends gathered around him. You couldn't help but laugh at the man who enjoyed the attention. Sasha noticed Jean watching you intently, she whispered something to Mikasa and they both came from behind you, shoving you towards him. You looked back at the pair as they giggled, you rolled your eyes and laughed at their attempt to get you close to Jean. "Looks like they really wanted you to dance with me," he laughed, holding out his hand for you to take. "I guess so," you glanced back at the pair that were now singing with Eren and Armin. Connie lying in the middle of the floor, vaping his little elf bar. Despite, the fact that you were all 23 years old, it was nice to feel you were 19 again.

Jean pulled you close and wrapped his arms around your waist as you swayed to the music. You wrapped your arms around his neck, looking at him in the eyes. "You know you're genuinely the most beautiful woman I've ever met," he smiled goofily as his head was spinning from the booze. "You're quite drunk," you chuckled, taking an unintentional step back, nearly losing your balance. Jean quickly steadied you, his grip firm to prevent you from falling backwards. "Looks like we're even," he teased with a playful grin.

You rolled your eyes in mock exasperation, a playful smile tugging at your lips. "Fine," you conceded, enjoying the light-hearted banter between you. He twirled you around in a circle and pulled you back close to him, his lips inches away from yours. "Not here, horseface." You teased with a smirk. "You're no fun," he shook his head at you.

Connie picked up his phone and saw someone was at the door as the Ring doorbell notification popped up. He paused and shouted towards everyone, "I'm GOING TO GET THE DOOR," he yelled as he scurried away.

Jean and you both laughed amongst yourselves, "I love Connie man, but he cannot handle his liquor." He chuckled as you laughed with him. "I'm not surprised."

Connie walked up to the door and opened it to reveal someone he was not expecting to see tonight.

Pieck.

He looked at her with a confused expression, baffled at why she was even here. "Can I help you?"
Pieck scoffed, "Yes. I know Jean is here, I saw his Instagram story. I want to speak to him." She folded her arms tightly across her chest, a scowl creasing her features. "I don't think that's a good idea," he cautioned. Connie's eyes darted towards the living room door, a hint of hesitation in his gaze.

"And why is that?" she pressed, sensing his unease. "I'm guessing that skank is here," she said, her voice tinged with annoyance. "I don't know who you're talking about," Connie tried to play dumb, the last thing he wanted was to cause you any trouble. "You're acting crazy, Pieck. You're not helping yourself. Go home."
Pieck's facial expression changes into an angry one, she doesn't care anymore. She wanted you to feel her pain. "I don't care," she shoved Connie aside and entered the house like she owned the place. She stormed into the living room, turning on the main light so she could see. Her gaze darts to Jean and you dancing together, she lets out a gasp, everyone's attention focusing on her.

Oh shit. It was about to get messy.
