Hi Readers: I want to apologize for how short that chapter ended up being. I wanted to try and write it, but I just had a blank when it came to what to write for the bath when I started to bring up the other topic that they're going to talk about now. So, that's why I decided to cut the chapter short. I hope you guys understand, and just accept this as my apology. Now, let's get to this chapter.
XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

She just knew that this would look good on her, the lingerie that she bought for this romantic getaway that she was currently on with Matt; and let's just say that it truly was perfect, especially due to the fact that it fit her like a glove. The lingerie was quite tight, but it was just something special that she just knew Matt was going to enjoy running his hands all over both tonight and tomorrow; that's how long she plans on wearing the lingerie, for at least 36 hours. So, all night tonight; and then all day tomorrow, and then all night tomorrow night. She doesn't want sex, she just wants her husband to hold her in his arms and make her happy; which is definitely something that he does on a daily basis. Just the way that Matt looks at her sometimes makes her heart skip a bit, and that's exactly what Matt wants to happen each and every day. He wants her heart to feel full of joy, and like it wants to skip a beat when he looks at her; after all, he truly believes that she's the most beautiful woman (and mother) in the entire world, and nobody will ever be able to change his mind that it's the case for her. Gabby is too beautiful not to be the most beautiful mother (and wife) in the entire world.

And that was definitely something that was currently on the husband (and father)'s mind as he walked into the bathroom (again) this evening, this time clad in nothing but the tight boxers that his wife loves after putting some cologne on; the husband wanting to make sure that he smells good for his wife, especially when they're going to be relaxing in bed with each other. But now, it's time for Matt to do his other job that he has to do right now. That job? Well, that would be to do up t his sexy lingerie that his wife was currently clad in for him. She looks truly stunning in this garment, and he's glad that this is what she decided to wear for him; and even better, it looks better on her while she's wearing it than when it was just sitting on the counter while waiting for her to put it on. And Matt was prepared to tell his beautiful wife just how beautiful she looks, as soon as he's standing behind her and has his hands on her body. Moving to walk up behind her at the sink, Matt smiled as he put his hands on her hips; an action that led to Gabby realizing that she was no longer alone in the washroom, but instead was also in the presence of the man she loves more than anything. Her husband.

Moving her body back against his chest, Matt smiled as he bent down and kissed his wife's neck; after which, he went to kiss her shoulder and sucked on it as a way to tease her this evening. "Oh, now that feels nice." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that it feels good. "I had a feeling that you were going to enjoy the feeling of my lips sucking on your shoulder, because I loved the feeling of it too." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, glad that was how he was feeling. She then proceeded to put her hand on his and just smiled due to the fact that the man she loves more than anything just so happens to be her hunk of a husband. "I swear, I truly am not worthy of you." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before moving to turn her around in his arms; he then stepped close to her, before bringing her against his chest. Putting her hands on Matt's chest, Gabby smiled as she looked up into his eyes. At the same time, Matt moved his hand to Gabby's neck while stroking her cheek with his thumb. "It's the other way around in fact my dear. I have treated you like crap so many times in the past..." Gabby took a breath when she heard Matt tell her that, clearly able to see it.

The guilt that Matt still has in his eyes from that day, where he said those horrible things to her; the things that Matt thought was going to end their marriage. Moving her hand to Matt's face, Gabby leaned up and proceeded to kiss him softly. "We have a lot to talk about tonight, don't we?" Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby ask him whether they have a lot to talk about tonight. "I wish we didn't." Gabby shook her head when she heard Matt say that, as she'd rather talk then just leave it in the past. She knows how they have to fix things now, and she's not going to make the same mistakes. "It's okay baby, I promise. We can talk all you want." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife when she told him that, happy that was the case. "We're still going to talk about the thing that you said first." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was going to be the case. Feeling him grab her hand, Gabby smiled as she decided to intertwine their fingers and hold her loving husband close to her. Cuddling up to him, Gabby smiled at her man.

At the same time, Matt pressed his lips to her forehead and just smiled due to the fact that this truly was his dream life; and he's really happy that he and Gabby are still married, and have plans to be married for the rest of their lives. And someday, they'll have more children. "Listen, how about we go to bed and relax? We still need to have that other conversation first." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, feeling him get close first while wrapping his arms around her and putting his hands on her butt. "But first, I want to make something clear. You are amazing mother, and I don't ever want to hear that you think otherwise again...okay?" Wrapping her arms around Matt's back, Gabby smiled as she leaned up and just went to kiss him slowly; and let's just say that Matt was really happy that he just kissed him that way. Gabby truly is the love of his life, and he's very happy to have her as his wife. "Listen, how about me and you head to bed now? A place where we're going to be staying for a good 36 hours." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, liking the idea of them spending a day in bed tomorrow. "I like the idea of a day in bed tomorrow." Matt agreed with Gabby.

"I had a feeling that you would." Gabby just nodded as she heard Matt tell her that he thought that she'd enjoy the idea, as she does.

Crawling into bed ahead of Matt this evening, Gabby smirked as she made sure to do it fast; that way, Matt wouldn't be able to slap her butt (which she knew that he was going to try and do). And lucky for her, she was right. Just getting in bed, Gabby smirked as she looked at the man she loves more than anything. "Oh, is daddy sad that he didn't get a chance to slap my ass?" Matt shook his head when he heard Gabby say that, shocked that she even knew that he was thinking of doing that. "How in the world did you know that I was thinking of..." Gabby just looked at her husband, who then proceeded to put his hands up; just deciding to concede that she was right, because she was. "I mean, you're pretty sexy baby. What man wouldn't want to slap that ass if he got a chance to do it?" Gabby smiled as she heard Matt tell her that, before watching as he came to join her in bed tonight; the bed that they plan on holding each other close in for a while, which is definitely something that they both want to do. I mean, it's why they're on their yacht together; so that they can take it easy and just relax with each other without their kids, and they are loving how they are alone right now.

Getting close to Gabby once he was in bed, Matt smiled as he closed the covers on top of him and then went to slip his arm under her head; his arm having become a second pillow to his wife, not that he's complaining. Rather, he was completely okay with his arm having become another pillow for his beautiful wife, as it means that he gets a chance to hold her close more often; which is something that he does each and every night. Getting close to Matt in the center of their bed shortly after he got comfortable, Gabby smiled as she slipped her arm under his head too; it being her way to tell him that she's comfortable, and that she's ready for him to tug the covers up on top of the both of them. And while normally, she would be even closer and wrapping her arms around his torso; that wasn't her plan right now, as she just wanted to talk to him and hold his hand instead as she got a chance to stare into his eyes. "I think you're still a bit too far away Gabby." Gabby shook her head when she heard Matt tell her that he thinks that she's still too far for him to close the covers, as she isn't for what she wants to do. "Not yet. You said that you want to talk, so I want to look in your eyes."

Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, before tugging the covers up on top of the both of them just like Gabby wants; after which, Gabby grabbed his hand and stroked it with his thumb while they both held each other close. However, Matt couldn't resist a chance to kiss his wife first; so, he put his hand on her hip and brought her close to him as he kissed her. Putting her hand on Matt's neck, Gabby smiled as she kissed him softly and just took things slow with her loving husband. "Okay, now I definitely liked that." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby tell him that, as he was well aware that would be the case. "Me too. Now listen, about what you said in the bath." Gabby took a breath, and just decided to listen to Matt. "Gabby, how can you even think that you aren't a good mom? We both know that you're an amazing mother, and I am so proud to call you the mother of my children." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, smiling as she was happy that was the case. "And I'm glad that you're going to be the future mother of my children, regardless of whether or not you carry them; I know that we already made up our minds, but I think that we're doing it prematurely."

Gabby was confused as she heard Matt say that they were making their minds up prematurely. "Why would you say that baby?" Matt sighed as he looked at his wife, before grabbing her hand. "Gabby, the boys are only six weeks old." Gabby then thought about it, and just laughed a bit. "And I gave birth maybe a month earlier than expected, even for twins." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, taking a breath. "Yeah, I think you were maybe 33 weeks." Gabby then thought about it and realized something. "Oh god. That means that..." Matt nodded. "We calculated it, and you got pregnant when you came home in September for that quick visit; the visit that led to you coming home permanently." Gabby took a breath, agreeing with Matt when he said that. "Gabby, I'm still not okay with that. I'm still dealing with that, and the worry that comes with it. I know we want a lot of kids, and I want that for us too. But I don't want you pregnant for a while. I want to wait until the boys are AT LEAST a year old before we even broach the subject of starting to try for another baby. That way, you can heal, and we can take it easy. And even better, we can wrap our heads around everything."

Matt then took a breath. "The truth is, there was another reason why I wanted to get away." Gabby just looked at her husband when he told her that, a bit confused as to what he was talking about. "Is everything okay baby?" Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby ask him whether everything was okay, which it was; at least, when it comes to them and their marriage. But the truth is, he just hasn't feel like things have slowed down for a while; and that's what he needs right now. Especially when he's trying to figure things out. This is their first real day where they have been truly alone in almost a year, and he's not ready to give this up; nor is he ready to add more to his stress, stress that he wants to talk about. "Uhm, there are really things that we need to talk about; things that I wanted to wait until you were healed to talk about, as I didn't want to stress you out more. Between your dad, the recovery, the boys. It's just...I guess I put my emotions and stuff to the side, so that I could concentrate my attention on you; and I've just realized now, that I've also been burying myself in work and..." Matt then started to tear up, scared to say what he was thinking the entire time.

Gabby then noticed that Matt was getting really emotional, and that what he really needed right now was to be held by her; and he needed the comfort that only she can give to him, in the most intimate way possible. Rubbing his chest, Gabby smiled as she proceeded to kiss his chest softly. "Hey, lay down on your back okay baby? I'll lay down on your chest and just come cuddle up to you." Matt agreed with Gabby, going ahead with rolling over onto his back so that he can hold her in his arms; and so that he can relax.

XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

She was now on his chest, cuddling up to the man she loves as she just bends down and kisses his chest; giving him the comfort and love that he needs to make him relax. That's what Gabby knows Matt needs right now, and she's more than happy to give it to him if he thinks that it will help him relax, and just take it easy. After all, he's the man that she loves; and all she wants is the best for him, and she can now see that this trip isn't just for him to be alone with her (and for them to be romantic with each other). It's also a chance for Matt to take it easy, and really let out some stress that he's been dealing with for a while; stress that he's been scared to talk to her about since she's been dealing with a lot at the same time, and it didn't feel right to dump it all on his wife while she's also going through all of that at the same time. He'd rather be here to support her rather than dump stuff on her. Just taking some deep breaths in order to relax right now, Matt sighed as he hated that this was how he was feeling right now; as he hates feeling weak.

But with Gabby, he feels like he can really let his guard down and just hold her close to him; and he can really talk to her, as she helps him deal with this. Stroking his side, Gabby smiled as she waited for Matt to talk to her; and she was waiting patiently, as she had no intention to force him to talk to her right away. He'll start talking to her when he's ready, that's just how her husband is. Running his hand up and down her back, Matt turned his head and then kissed the side of her head. "Sorry about this." Gabby shook her head when she heard Matt apologize for having to take a minute to just breathe and relax, as that was the last thing that he needed to apologize for. If he needed to take a breather and just relax, then he had every right to do so; after all, she wants him to just take it easy. "It's okay baby, just talk to me and let me know what's going on." Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby say that, before bending down and kissing the top of her head. "Sorry I've been hiding all of this." Gabby shook her head. "Just talk to me."

Matt agreed with Gabby (again) before going ahead with talking to her so that he can let her know how he's doing right now. "I guess, it's just a lot to take in; and a lot to realize that I'm dealing with a lot more now, and it's overwhelming. I have to balance so much. I have to balance being a huge employer, and create a bunch of jobs; while also being a great father, and a husband to you and the boys; but I also have to make sure that I take care of my mental health, which is something that I need to ensure I don't just put to the side and let slip. I don't want to go backwards in all the progress that I made when it comes to my PTSD." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that he didn't want to go backyards when it came to PTSD; because that was the last thing that she wanted to, especially when she's truly seen a difference in him even since he got a proper diagnosis. "The truth is, I have been feeling guilty about that." Matt looked down at Gabby when she said that. "What are you talking about baby?" Gabby sighed.

"I can't help but wonder if I missed some signs in the past, signs of whether you were dealing with PTSD; especially after that first time that you had that injury, the one right before I started at the academy and we got engaged." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, running his hand up and down her back some more. "Yeah, that was scary; all the near death experiences that I've had to deal with." Gabby agreed with Matt, taking a breath. "Can I ask you a question Matt?" Matt nodded. "Always baby." Gabby then took a breath, not sure what his reaction is going to be to the question. "Is your PTSD more related to your dad, or your career?"

Matt's POV:
When Gabby asked me whether my PTSD is more related to my dad, or to my (former) career at the CFD; I took a breath as I wasn't exactly sure to tell you the truth, I hadn't even thought about that as it's all a big part of my PTSD. But now that Gabby actually brought up that topic, it's really making me think about that; and just how much my PTSD truly is related to the job more than my dad. "To tell you the truth, I think you're right that it's more related to the job; but in ways that are so confusing." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, stroking my chest; which was her way that she wants an explanation, which I am more than happy to give her right now. "I think the reason I say that it's more related to my career, is due to the fact that a majority of the events happened related to events I experienced on shift. Andy dying, I was right behind him; Hallie dying, I was on shift and responded to the scene; you having troubles with the baby, it was in a hospital and near my profession; and of course, I was on the job when I almost died in 2017."

Wrapping my arm around Gabby's back, I proceeded to kiss the top of her head as I held my beautiful wife close to me; the woman I love more than anything in the entire world, and the woman who completes me in every sense of the word. Gabby truly is the piece of my heart that completes me, and I don't think that I could ever really get through life without her; she makes me a better man, and I love that about her. She's made me want to become charitable, and give back to so many people. And I'm glad that's the case, because it means that we get to do so much more with my money; and not just spend it. Running my hand up and down my girl's back, I smiled due to the fact that this is everything that I want right now. I want to hold my girl right now. I want to run my hand up and down her back as I cuddle up to her and just hold her close. Kissing the top of her head, I smiled because I was really happy that Gabby asked me that question. And I really mean that, because it's really getting me to think; and it's make me realize a lot more than I knew before.

"Thanks for asking me that question baby." Gabby looked up at me when I said that. "Are you sure that you want to thank me for asking that question?" I nodded, agreeing with Gabby as she asked me whether I really wanted to thank her fore asking me that question; because I most definitely did want to thank her for asking me that question, as it got me to think. It got me to really think about those questions that you just asked me. And I definitely think that you just gave me an idea for something. Something that I may need to call Will and Natalie about tomorrow. See if they can try and figure it out and see what they can do." Gabby laughed. "So, you are going to work on the weekend?" I took a breath when Gabby asked me whether I was going to work on the weekend, before realizing that I wasn't. "You know what, never mind. I can work during the week, not on my romantic getaway with my girl." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling even more as I turned my head and kissed her forehead softly. Which she loves like crazy.

"I like it when you do that, so please keep doing that." I laughed when I heard Gabby tell me that she likes it when I kiss her forehead, because I know that she does. I know that she likes it when I kiss her forehead, because I love kissing her forehead. And even better, it's due to the fact that I have such a gorgeous wife. I love Gabby more than anything in the entire world, and that will always be the case. There's just something about her that makes me really happy, and that makes me want to just hold her close to the rest of my life. I want to show her that I love her, and that this is the life that I want to have with her; the life that I want to have with her and our boys, for the rest of my life. "I hope you know that this is exactly what I want to do for a while." Gabby smiled as I told her that this is exactly what I want to do right now, obviously due to the fact that she feels the same way. "Believe me when I say this Matt, but I want to do the same thing." I smiled when I heard Gabby say that. "That's why I actually want you to always be with me from now on."

Gabby looked up at me when I said that. "What do you mean baby?" Taking a breath as I looked at Gabby when she told me that, before smiling at her. "It's because you're my anchor." Gabby smiled when I told her that she's my anchor. "And I feel like you're the one that's holding our family together. You're the one that makes sure that we balance everything perfectly, and I am so glad that I have you as my wife." Gabby smiled when she heard me tell her that, while also enjoying the feeling of my fingers running up and down her back. At the same time, I left a kiss on her forehead; which is something else that she always enjoys the feeling of, as do I. There's just something about me leaving a kiss on her forehead that really makes me smile, and makes me want to do it each and every day for the rest of my life. "I hope you know that you're the woman of my dreams baby." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that she's the woman of my dreams. "Well, wake up baby; because this isn't a dream, it's our reality." I agreed with Gabby, smiling as she said that while moving my hand to the back of her head and kissing her forehead softly once again. God, I love her so much.

"I swear, I am so glad that this is what we're in the midst of doing; just holding each other close as we relax in bed, and take it easy together." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as she ran her hand down my chest. "And it's what we're going to do tomorrow." I nodded, agreeing with Gabby when she told me that it's what we're going to be doing tomorrow. "I promise, this is exactly what I want to do tomorrow. Now, do we want breakfast in bed?" Gabby smiled when I asked her whether she wanted to have breakfast in bed, and I could see that she was liking the idea as she cuddled up to me some more; at the same time, I rubbed her back while kissing the top of her head. I then peppered some kisses on her forehead as a way to show the woman I love just how much I love her, which is more than anything in the entire world. Gabby truly is the woman of my dreams, and I am so happy that this is our life; and that it will always be the life that we get to share with each other (and our boys of course). "I like the idea of breakfast in bed."

I agreed with Gabby, smiling as she told me that before going to grab the TV remote; however, Gabby stopped me. "Can we just lay down in silence and just cuddle up to each other like this for the rest of the night? I don't remember the last chance that we had to do this." I agreed with Gabby, smiling as I once again kissed the top of her head as I held her close to me. "Of course, we can baby. Are you starting to get tired?" Gabby sighed. "Sorry." I shook my head. "Hey, we did a lot today; and now, we're just going to hold each other as you fall asleep on my chest." Gabby agreed with me as I said that, smiling as she (obviously) loved the idea of falling asleep on my chest. "Oh, now I definitely love that idea." I smiled, agreed with my girl as I kissed the top of her head. "I love you Gabby." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that I love her. Looking up at me, Gabby smiled. "I love you too Matt." Bending down, I smirked as I went ahead and gave her one last kiss for the evening. "Goodnight baby." Gabby smiled as I said that.

Reaching over to my side table, I smiled as I went ahead and shut off my lap before falling asleep with Gabby in my arms for our first night on our yacht.
