...
"do you think this dress looks okay?" yuna turns to face mingi, the dress pressed against her body to give him an idea of how it fit.
"i would say yes but, i haven't seen you wear that one and i don't want you to get mad at me for not telling you it was bad so, i don't know." he answers, watching her reaction.
she hums in response and he immediately assumes he's done something wrong but when she pouts in concentration he realises she wasn't even listening to him. the rapper lets out a sigh of relief as he looks through his shirts.
"hey!" yuna exclaims, scaring mingi a little, "you wanna match? look! we have basically the same coat!" she giggles excitedly as she pulls out a long black coat and holds it up beside mingi's own, smiling happily at the man.
"yeah? you'd do that?" he was a little surprised considering she'd seen matching couple-outfits as the biggest issue in the world as long as he'd known her.
"of course!" she chirps, "i mean, normally i'd throw up but for you... i'll make exceptions."
a slight blush creeps onto her cheeks as he simply grins at her, enthralled by the way flirting with him made her shy. sometimes she was all seduction and confidence when she flirted but most of the time, when she was being serious about it, she could barely get the words out without giggling and when she could, her face would immediately begin to burn a vibrant red.
"okay," he chuckles as she puffs out her cheeks, trying to calm the burning sensation, "we can match."
they decide on their outfits rather quickly after choosing the coats to build upon. yuna went with a pair of black, straight-leg trousers, her panda dunks and a white turtleneck sweater. mingi chose clothes that matched her perfectly, exactly the same shoes, similar pants and basically the same top. she smiles as she looks at their reflections in the full-length mirror by her bedroom door before they snap a few quick pictures and head out the door.
they hop into the uber and make their way to the restaurant seonghwa had chosen.
it was a nice place, not too busy. it was small and secluded, nestled between two stores in an opening at the end of an alley. the lights, both interior and exterior, were soft and gave a yellowish tint to their surroundings, various plants hung from the walls, again both inside and out. soft r&b music played throughout the establishment and in the outdoor seating area.
it was easy enough for the couple to find despite neither of them having been there before. apparently, no one but seonghwa had ever been there or had even heard it so, when he they all expressed how nice it was, a proud grin grew on his lips, as though he were the owner and they were all gordon ramsay telling him that the place had potential.
aside from the aesthetics of the restaurant, the food had to be good too. which it was, in everyone's opinion. not a single crumb was left on their plates as they finished up, leaning back to stretch their full stomachs.
"holy shit! i don't think i've ever had food that good." yuna exclaims, groaning as she pulls her tight pants away from her stomach, allowing herself a little more room to breathe.
"i mean," yunho starts, stretching as far as he can, "it's not yuna's cooking but, it's almost as good. almost."
"well, i'm glad everyone enjoyed dinner," seonghwa chirps, taking a sip of his beer, "there's one other thing though. it should be starting soon."
they all look to him in confusion as he glances at a large black curtain on one side of the room. a few minutes later, the music stops playing and the curtains open, a few small spotlights flicking on to illuminate a short stage. one microphone stand is positioned front and centre, along with a chair and a screen.
yuna claps in delight, already having figured out what it was for. the others look at seonghwa in confusion as he simply smiles at yuna's happiness.
"alright, ladies and gentlemen!" a man steps onto the stage, grabbing and mic and smiling at the guests, "let our weekly karaoke night, begin!"
a few cheers and claps sound from around the room as people clearly try to usher their companions onto the stage.
"yuna, why don't you have a go?" yeosang suggests, poking her elbow softly.
"me? alone?" they all look to her expectantly as she shakes her head, "no. no way, i can't do that alone." she laughs, waving them all off.
"come on, i'll go with you." yunho offers, standing from his seat and walking around the table to pull his sister's out for her.
"no, yunho, i can't-"
"bitch, i swear if you give me some 'i can't sing' bullshit, i will physically fight you, right here and right now." wooyoung stands, pulling yuna out of her seat.
after a minute of her struggling against yunho and wooyoung's pushes, and everyone else's 'encouraging' words, she's on the stage, watching as yunho happily flicks through the list of songs.
"oh, what about this one? you love this one!" he points to an older song that she would play constantly in high school, always dancing around to it and humming along.
"okay, sure! do you know it though?"
"i once sat through it on repeat for a full forty-eight hours, i think i know the words." he chuckles, selecting the song and handing over a second mic, given to him by the announcer from earlier.
the songs begins and yuna is immediately sent back to her high school days, singing the same tune when no one was home, dancing around the house as though she were in a music video. she starts singing and the melody flows from her chest so effortlessly, some people began to wonder whether she was actually singing or just lip-syncing.
as the song continues, her hips start to sway subconsciously, remembering the choreography that went along with the music. as she begins to get more into the song and dance, yunho joins in, surprising not only yuna but also himself. neither of them had any clue he knew the dance, let alone the words.
they sing and dance simply together, grabbing the attention of every eye and ear in the room. as the song comes to an end, the guests and staff erupt into cheers, the siblings taking a proud bow together before hopping off the stage.
they head back to the table, mingi standing with open arms for yuna, only her hug is intercepted at the last moment by yunho, wrapping his arms around the rapper and trying his hardest to lift him off his feet. the girl can only laugh at the two as she slaps her brother's back lightly and he lets go, mingi immediately wrapping his arms around the girl.
"that was so good!" he laughs as she giggles into his neck.
"just good? personally, i thought i was fucking magical."
they stick around for about two more hours, getting a little more tipsy with every song that played. they even decided to do a few little performances of their own, some of them in threes, fours, duets and solos.
and the noise that left san's throat when he caught a glimpse of 'star 1117' flickering over the screen as wooyoung searched for songs. they all joined in for that, even yuna had a go at singing jongho's part.
they all had a great time and by the time they decided to leave, the restaurant was closing for the night. as planned, mingi and yuna order an uber to take them home and it arrives not long after they'd said their goodbyes to the rest of the group.
they make it home by eleven o'clock, stumbling through the door as quietly as they can. hyunwoo emerges from the bathroom, ready to leave but not before mingi can shove a few hundred dollars in his hand as a thank you for all of his help.
they take a quick shower together, during which nothing but absolutely blissful silence occurred, before they wriggle under the covers, snuggling in close to one another.
yuna hums softly as mingi begins massaging her hip with his thumb, placing a light kiss to his chin.
"i missed you, min." she mumbles into his chest, earning a grin from the man.
"did you?" she hums in response, the vibration of her lips tickling his throat and he chuckles, "not even half as much as i missed you, i reckon."
she shrugs lightly and he kisses the top of her head.
"not even close."
