My head was pounding, it's 2am and I was drunk off my ass.
I maneuvered my intoxicated self to the bar and sat down on the empty bar stool.
'Hey buddy, great win last night. Drinks on me.' said the bartender who grinned happily at me.
I wanted to just say yes but my drunk self had to blab my sob story him, 'Bartender, can I tell you something? I'm- I'm a fucking idiot. I gave up the best thing that's ever happened to me f-for my career.'
'Well, why'd you do it, kid?'
'Sometimes you give up a few things- or in this case person, for your dreams.'
'Was it worth it?'
'I hope it was. I lost somebody along the way of reaching it.'
'Kid, if you love that person as much as you think you do then go after 'er.'
