Grace stood in the bathroom. She was hiding from doc who had turned feral. She stood with her back against the door as she heard bella who was fighting with the dog
"God, holy, ow. I said down, back...Grace Incoming!" Bella said as grace opened the door as bella came running in. Grace looked to her and smirked
She handed bella the coffee cup and smiled
"That dog is evil. Why did you bring it here" Bella asked
"Your brother is evil he played with my heart and brought his wife here beside it was also Meredith. She's upset over James and their breakup. I don't see why they broke up because of me and derek"
"He's addies brother it's complicated" Bella said as she took a sip of the coffee as she sat on the toilet lid as grace leant against the door and frowned as she heard Meredith who was petting fox and frowned as she opened the bathroom door so that both grace and Bella were looking at her
Meredith giving the dog compliments and the barking has stopped. Bella and grace open the door tentatively and peek out as George and izzie come out from hiding in George's bedroom
"What a good dog? Who's mommy's good boy?" Meredith said as They see Meredith patting and shaking the dog's paw
"Silly. Yes, I know. You're a good boy. You're such a good boy." Meredith said as They look absolutely amazed by this
"What are you guys doing in there? We're going to be late." Meredith said
"We need to talk about the dog" george said
"That's not a dog. It's a hyena, escaped from the zoo dressed in dog clothing" izzie said
"I hate to agree with Barbie but I agree" Bella said
"Whatever! I don't chew up his clothes. I don't urinate on his bed. I don't try to mount him from behind!" George said
"People, he's our dog. We love our dog. He loves us" meredith said as She continues patting and leaves. Doc turns and growls at the others and then lets out a bark
"He tries to mount you from behind?" Grace asked as she looked at George
"Tries to." George said as Doc barks loudly

Grace got to the hospital as she walked down the hallway with Bella "so I heard things are bad with derek and Addison. I told you he'd regret not choosing you"
"What do you mean by bad" grace asked. She didn't want it to seem as if she was still hung up on derek even if it was seeming that way
"He loves the trailer we know that as like doc derek has mounted you in all sort of positions there. Addie doesn't and they were fighting over trout in the trailer I am telling you it isn't going to last"
"Derek and I ended months ago bella"
"So, I still have hope and you should too. Look I love Addie but what she did with mark broke me. What she did to derek ruined things he's trying to be honourable but he's not as he is in love with you still. They aren't going to last" Bella said as grace smiled
Grace knew that complicated wasn't the word when it came to her and derek. All that she was it was tense and despite ending a few months back she was still finding herself getting caught up on him

Richard is standing up on some stairs talking to a crowd of interns and doctors that are standing at the base of the stairs. Grace and Bella walks up to the crowd and stands next to Alex who is also standing there
"Listen up people. New Year, new rules or should I say New Year and we will be enforcing the rules mandated by the residency review committee. There were too many mistakes made last year. Fatigue played too big a role. Exceeding 80 hours per week will not be tolerated" Webber said
"Does that mean we actually get to have a life?" Bella asked
"I think so." Alex said
"Sullivan, you were on-call for 28 hours, leave when you hit 30. Grey and grey you were here to 2am last night, see you at noon" Webber aid as grace looked to Meredith and frowned
" I get to go? Free time?" Grace asked
"Run before he changes his mind" Alex said
"Take me with you" Bella called

Derek is standing in an elevator, reading a paper with two other nurses. The doors open and reveal Grace standing outside dressed to go home. She walks in and the two nurses leave.Grace and derek hold on look. They know the history when it comes to elevators
"Hi" Grace said as Derek looked to her putting his papers away
"Hi. You leaving?" Derek asked
"80 hour limit. You?" Grace asked
" Surgery was postponed." He said It looks like he's checking her out. He can't stop smiling and looking at her. Grace looks over at him as they make eye contact
" I have a dog. Although he's quite feral"
"You have a dog"
"My point is I have a dog"
" You have a dog. Oh you know what? I love dogs."
"I've moved on so don't give me that look" Grace said as He moves from his position against the wall and stands up close to her. Grace can almost feel his breathe on her neck
"What look?"
"That look. Our look. I'm over you." Grace said
"I'm over you too. "
" You are?" Grace asked shocked
"No."
" Oh, well I am. Over you" grace said. She didn't know who she was trying to convince. Derek or herself
"I'm over you too."
" You just said ...Shut up." Grace said as he raised his eyebrows and smirked at her
The doors open and they are both smiling at each other until they see who is standing in front of the doors. Addison. Who is by the way not looking very happy. Grace suddenly feels awkward
"Hi." Derek said
"Bye." Grace said to derek as she walks out of the elevator. Derek resumes his original position of leaning against the wall and Addison walks in. She has a very ill look on her face but doesn't say anything
" There is a land called 'passive-agressiva' and you are their queen." Derek said to addison
"I am fine."
" Except when you shriek about trout."
" I was not shrieking about trout."
" Right, you weren't. You were shrieking about Gracie.... Grace" derek said using his nickname for her without realising
"No, I was shrieking about the trailer. I hate the trailer"
" Oh okay, so the past three weeks have been about the trailer?"
":Yes."
" Not about the fact that I said I love Grace" derek said knowing how it was still true .
"Loved."
" What?"
"You said you loved her. Past tense."
"Right yes past tense" derek said. He knew his feelings were far from in the past
" Well then I have been shrieking about the trailer."
"Mmm." Derek said as The doors ding open and Addison leaves. Derek just shakes his head

Grace stood in the house and sighed. She looked to doc and smiled as she stroked the top of his head and smiled
"Your not so bad are you I mean your feral but your not to bad" grace said as Meredith walked into her room as she started to fold up laundry
"Leave him alone. He's our dog" Meredith said as grace looked to her
"Have you talked to James yet. I know why you...why we got doc. I'm depressed over derek and your upset over James but you and James can make it work it's not as if he is married either" grace said as Meredith looked to her and sighed
"I wish it was that easy" Meredith said as grace looked to her and rolled her eyes
"It can be if you want it to be" grace said

Grace decided to go and see ellis. She decided to visit ellis. Grace is walking through the nursing home when Nurse Linda calls out to her
"Grace! Hi"
Grace looked to her and smiled as Grace walks up to her
"Hi. I had the morning off so I thought I would come and see how my mother's doing." Grace said
"Oh, she's fine. She's in the sitting room." Nurse Linda said
"Thanks"
"She's in good spirits. Visitors really cheer her up" nurse Linda said as she walked off
"Visitors?" Grace said to herself. She looks over and sees Derek walking up and making himself a cup of coffee. Grace looked to him and frowned
"What are you doing here?" Grace asked. She was angry
"There is a clinical trial to study the progression of early onset Alzheimer's" grace said
"Okay me you can screw with. My mother, no. Not acceptable. Leave my mom out if it" grace said she was annoyed
"Well there has been some really promising results from similar studies in Europe. Your mother is a prime candidate" derek said as grace looked to him
"My mother is very sick and has very few good days. And I don't want her being poked and prodded for some experimental program. She doesn't even remember me on her best days" grace said
"I'm just trying to help" derek said as she looked to him and sighed
"Well see this, what you're doing, being Dreamy. It doesn't help. It hurts me. It messes with my head" grace said. She knew how she had enough if her head being messed with lately
"I know the feeling" derek said
"I don't doubt that but you have a wife to go home to and I'm guessing she has no idea where you are right now." Grace said
"No, she doesn't" derek said as grace nodded
"Yeah that's what I thought" Grace said as the two of them held a look

Grace sat in the gallery in her own clothes. She couldn't seem to stay away from the hospital only to find herself back at the hospital
Grace sat next to Bella who looked ti her and frowned
"Are you mad? You have a day off and you find your way back here" Bella asked as grace nodded as she handed bella a coffee and took a sip
"It seems that way, that and I needed to talk to you" Grace said as Bella looked to her and frowned
"What's up"
"Your brother is what's up" grace said as Bella took a sip of her coffee and sighed
"What has he done now" Bella asked
"Turned up at my mothers home. Claiming to want to out my mother in a trail for Alzheimer's. Me..he can screwed with and he hasn't"
"Yeah in how many different positions" Bella said as grace shot her a look
"Not helpful" grace said as Bella shrugged as she looked to her
"That...and every time I try and move on. He seems to hook me in. I am trying to act as if I am okay and I'm not. I don't know how much longer I can act as if I am okay as I think I am going to fall apart and it scares me" grace said
Bella looked to her and frowned. Grace was worried. She was worried over seeing how down that grace was and she hated it
Bella wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into a hug and smiled
"I'm sorry but it will be okay" Bella said. She knew how worried that she was over grace and the effect that her brother seemed to have on her, she knew how her brother seemed to want both grace and addison and he couldn't get away with it

Grace stood at the nurses station as she stood filing out paper work as Richard walked over and stood next to her
"This program Derek looked into was a favor to me." Richard said as grace looked to him and rolled her eyes.
"Nice try." Grace said
"Sometimes grace, a favor is just a favor. This treatment won't cure your mother. It won't give her a new lease on life but it may give her more good days. I urge you to consider" Richard said
Meredith walked over where grace was and smiled "so you couldn't stay away either" grace asked as Meredith smiled
"Something like that. Are you okay"
"Why do you ask"
"Because your my little sister, and I love you and mom is in a home and all we have is each other and I see how shepherd has treated with you and he has hurt you in so many ways the last few months and I am worried. You don't smoke anymore and your down and you did sleep with Alex so I have to ask are you okay" Meredith asked as grace looked to her and sighed
"I...I'm getting there" grace said

Grace is waiting against a wall on the hallway for Derek who comes out an elevator and stops in front of her when she calls out his name
"Derek." Grace said as he turned to face her and smiled
"Hi"
" Tell me about the program." Grace said as he nodded
"Walk with me we'll talk" he said as she nodded.,They walked down the hall talking.
Grace had no idea just how badly her mental health was going to be impacted and it would all lead down to derek shepherd and all he had done
