Finally my exams are over and Im back with a new chapter. Its been so long since we met through this book so hope you are all doing fine. Now lets proceed to the story
Kashmir, Evening
Kartik is so excited to go home. He is humming to a happy song as he is packing his stuff. Taran is helping him arrange the stuff. After so many packing and unpacking finally everything gets over and Kartik is ready to leave for the airport. Dragging his baggage he walked to his car and loaded it.
Taran: Have a happy journey sir
Kartik: You aren't coming?
Taran: No sir...your flight is to Udaipur aur mujhe Mumbai jaana hai
Kartik: I totally forgot that Taran...tu pahunch ke call karna...Take care..Bubye
Taran: Bye sir
Kartik grins widely waving bye to Taran as the car leaves for the airport. He takes his mobile and calls Naira
Naira is seated in the dining area and sees her mobile ringing. She tries to reach it but feels breathless while doing so. The mild back pain she has since morning hit her sharply. She forwns in pain and leans back into the chair. Keerthi sees this and takes the mobile and gives it to her
Kartik (excitedly):Jaan...
Naira: Mendak....
Kartik: Im coming home
Naira: Jaldi aajao na mendak
Kartik: What happened Jaan...? You sound stressed
Naira: Kuch nahi...from morning Im feeling so weird...using the restroom for 17 times since the morning and now I cant even get my phone off the table..even that effort makes me tired...I just want you near me
Kartik: 17 times is a new record right...dont worry sherni..Ill be there in few hours..tum meri beti se keh dena ki papa ki aane tak intzaar karegi woh
Naira: Tumhari beti hai tumhi kehdo
She places the mobile on her baby bump
Kartik: Princess...its papa here...bacha papa is on his way home...aap tab tak mumma ko pareshan mat karna..aur haan tab tak mumma ki tummy mein hi rehna...jab papa aayenge tab hi aap bahar aana ...papa ka chotu sherni unki baath manegi na?
Naira feels a movement in her tummy and grows excited
Naira: Kya kaha apni beti se?
Kartik: Thats a papa beti secret...I would not tell
Naira: Tum yahan aao toh sahi uske baat dek lungi tum dono ko
Kartik: Bas ...ab airport pahunch gaya hoon..just few more hours Ill be back home
Naira: Have a safe journey mendak
Kartik: Haan and you take care...Love you
Naira: Love you too
She places the mobile down and sips the juice thats in front of her
Swarna: Naira..kuch aur chahiye?
Naira: Nahi maa phirse bathroom nahi jaana hai mujhe
Dadi: Waise Swarna the doctor gave a date in this week na?
Swarna: Haan maaji
Dadi: Keerthi beta you have packed the things to he taken to the hospital right?
Keerthi: Haan dadi its ready since a week
Naira: Matlab..Dadi....
Dadi: Beta..we are just being ready...if doctor gives a date baby may not come exactly on that date but may come in that week
Hearing this Naira gets panicked
Naira: Dadi....Maa....zyada pain hoga kya?
Dadi: Pain toh hoga beta...
This makes her freak out. Tears rush down her cheeks in fear
Naira: Kitna pain hoga? Will I be able to bear?
Surekha: Naira...you can bear it beta dont worry
Swarna: Haan beta...har time nahi hoga...intermittently hoga so sehen paogi tum
Naira: Im scared....
Swarna: Nahi beta....please dont stress yourself like this ...we can face it when it happens...calm down
She pats Naira on her back
Dadi: Beta you just take a nap now...Keerthi take her to her room
Keerthi helps Naira and takes her to the room. Naira lies down and Keerthi sits near her trying to calm her down.

Kartik rushes out soon as the flight landed. Grabbing the luggage he rushes to the car. Hopping in he dials Naira. Naira is woken up by his call
Kartik: Naira...I have landed
Naira: Finally...jaldi aao na menadak....Aaahhhhh (she screams)
Kartik: Nairaaaa......
Naira tries to get up and finds herself wet down the bottom and even the bed was wet. The mild back pain she has since morning grew worse. It was radiating all over her body and Naira isn't able to stand she slumps down
Kartik is panicked by her shouts and the silence that ensued
Kartik: Naira...tum teek ho na? Naira?...
Naira: Kartikkkkkkkkkkkk
Hearing her screams Swarna, Keerthi and Gayu rush there followed by Dadi and Surekha. The sight of Naira reveals everything to them
Dadi: Manish...Akhil...jaldi aao....jaldi....Samarth...ghaadi nikhalo....
Manish and Akhil rush there by the time Swarna and Surekha help Naira get up
Dadi: She is on labour...hospital jaana hai...hurry up
Keerthi grabs the mobile and says: Kartik....
Kartik: Keerthi...what happened? Naira...Naira
Keerthi: Kartik...Naira is on labour...tum kahan ho
Kartik: Labour? My baby is coming ? Im coming Keerthi...on the way home
Keerthi: Dadi Kartik is coming here
Dadi: Tell him to come to the hospital....we will leave now
Keerthi: Kartik...Tum hospital aajao ....we are taking Naira there
Saying so Keerthi disconnects the call. The Goenka house turns frantic. Manish and Akhil take Naira to the car. Keerthi collects all the baggages along with Swarna and Surekha and rushes out. Dadi collects her baal krishna statue and Bhagvad Gita book with her. Gayu calls and informs the Singhanias as she gets into the car
Hearing the news Singhania household grew crazy.
Akshara: Naitik.....Jaldi aayiye....humein jaana hai
Naksh: Muma...here is your luggage if you had to stay for a night
Naitik: Rashmi...lets inform Shagun and Bhallas on the way...chalo...
Dragging Naitik and Rashmi outside Akshara rushed while Naksh locked the doors as he left.

Naira is placed on the stretcher in the hospital and is rushed inside. Singhanias and Bhallas are there. Though everyone from her family is there in front of her Naira's search for her support system, her mendak Kartik
Naira: Maa...Kartik...Kartik....
Swarna : Kartik kahan hai...
Adi: He just called me he is on the way...will be here soon
Ruhi: Your Kartik will come soon Naira..please stay strong
Naira's pain seemed humongous but his absence was the biggest pain. Doctor rushes to check her
Doctor: Dilation is good...there is 100 percent chance of Normal delivery....take her to the labour ward
Naira: Cant we wait doctor?
Doctor: You are already dilated dear...if we wait then delivery will happen right here...take her in
Naira is made to wear the patient gown and is taken to the labour ward.
Naira: Baby...thoda wait karo..papa ko aane dho....
She keeps repeating to her baby all her way to the labour room. An hour passes by since Naira entered the labour room her pain grows manifold times. Every moment since her childhood till now flashes before her eyes. Her heart pines for support she pictures all those beautiful moments of pregnancy that she spent with Kartik.
Nurse: Mam...take deep breaths your pain will subside...
She follows the instructions and it makes her feel better for a few minutes before another wave of pain strikes her. Unable to bear it she starts crying bitterly.
Naira shouts: Aahhh...Kartikkkkk
Kartik: Aagaya mein Naira....aagaya mein....You are not alone
He hugs her and that one hug takes away all her pain.
Now she knows that he is there with her and that one thought changed everything. She looked at him with moist eyes .
Kartik: Sorry traffic mein phas gaya tha...par dekho I made it as per promise
Naira: Iss baar behosh nahi hoge na?
Kartik looks up at her relieving the hug and : Nope I wont...Promise...
Naira: You better keep it up..warna
Kartik: Warna kya kacha kha jayegi
The nurses being familiar with them as they had been watching them since their first sonogram smiled among themselves . This cute banter indeed was a magic as it made her pain disappear . The doctor checked her again
Doctor: Thats a great progress Naira..the head is almost visible from outside...bas kuch dher aur then your baby will be in your arms
With Naira pushing and Kartik motivating her another hour passes by and the crucial part of labour begins...baby starts coming out making the pain unbearable for Naira. She screams in pain. Seeing his sherni in pain Kartik holds her hand firmly
Kartik: Naira....sheri ho tum...bohot strong ho na.....just dont lose hope my jaan....
With every moment Naira's pain increases. Kartik kisses her hand
to suck out all the pain into himself. Seconds later the doctor smiles as the baby slowly comes out into the world. She takes the baby out and the cry of Kaira's baby is heard
Doctor: Congratulations Mister and Mrs Goenka ...aapko beti hui hai
Teri Ankhon Main Duinya Ke
Sab Taare Shamil Hain
Tu Toh Tukda Nahi Hai
Dil Ka Tu Pura Dil Hai
Hearing this Kartik's eyes get moist
. He turns to see her face glowing with new found happiness
Kartik: You did it jaan
Naira: We did it...
Kartik plants a kiss on Naira's forehead rejoicing the moment they had become parents

They hug each other expressing their happiness and love for each other.
Their love had a symbol now, a pyari si beti...the symbol of Kaira's love

The doctor brings the baby. Naira gestures Kartik to get her. He hesitates for a second on thinking how he will be able to handle her but Naira's assuring look gives him the hope.He gets the baby with so much care. The moment he sees her face he forgets everything . There is complete silence, Only happy tears from his eyes and his widest grin speak everything.

Naira admires her munchkin as if there is no tomorrow. Kartik places a kiss on the forehead of his princess with utmost love and care.
