"Mornin…" Cedric had walked down with a large yawn. Mrs. Diggory laughed gently as Rose smiled, "Ced, you got some mail." Cedric nodded in a sleepy stupor before opening some letters and eating a biscuit. He muttered something about quidditch tactics and gaining courage as he put away each slowly. Mr. Diggory came down stairs excited and with a loud whoop, "Time for you two to go enjoy some time in Diagon! Ced, bring us that Quidditch trophy this year!" Cedric had a strained smile before he nodded, "Right Dad. I'm going to get dressed." Rose frowned as Cedric walked upstairs, "Excuse me." Rose looked concerned before she turned to Mr. Diggory, who now gave her the focus of his attention. He smiled at her brightly, "And you, keep up the excelent scores. You're bound to be head girl in your actions." Rose smiled brightly towards him, "Thank you Mr. Diggory." Merlin flew into the room, his massive black wings casting a shadow interrupting the conversation with a note in his beak. She thanked him before noticing it was a letter, apparently taken from an owl. She began to give plenty of love to her clingy owl, who was thoroughly enjoying every moment. Merlin hooted as he closed his eyes, she had began to rub under his beak when Cedric bounded down the stairs ready to go.

"Into the car kids, let's go." Rose smiled as she watched Cedric's mom and dad cast charms on their trunks. Rose called for Merlin, who flew over Cedric's head, who shouted in shock. Merlin hooted as he nuzzled in her arms, Rose laughing at Cedric who was laughing softly trying to pretend to be mad. They crossed the grass as their trunks were placed in the magically extended trunk, their brooms going in as well. Rose held Merlin in the car, excitedly talking to Cedric. Cedric listed all the things they needed to buy while Rose explained she needed to drop off some more money in her gringots vault. Cedric tilted his head as she said, "My parents deposit money into my account every year. Kinda like a nest egg." She smiled kinda embarrassed, "I'm the only child so they want to make sure I have a well off life. We just didn't expect for me to be… well you know." Cedric laughed softly as he put his hand on her shoulder, "Well, You spot me for when we go to Honey dukes." Rose smiled warmly, thankful that Cedric didn't care. Rose began to explain muggle money to Cedric who was fascinated, "What a weird shape." Cedric's mother smiled sweetly as she looked at the muggle city.

"We made it, Children." Rose was thrilled as they unloaded their trunks in front of a shabby looking inn. Rose was thrilled as she watched the muggles pass them, Cedric was helping his father get out the owl cages. Amos gifted her a warm handshake while his wife knelt and handed her a small package, "For being a young woman." Rose turned pink as Cedric made a gross face before they headed inside. Rose entered the cool inn, refreshed as wizards and witches walked around. Some were discussing their purchases, others were discussing puzzles and types of potions. Cedric was speaking to his parents as Rose checked in, a roar of fire from the fireplace near her scared her. Alice came walking out and dusting off as she squealed, "Rose!!" Rose was in shock, "H-How? Fire? What- Santa?" Alice started to laugh loudly as her parents alco came out after seeming to twirl around. They greeted her cheerfully as Alice explained, "It's called Floo powder. There is a network that connects wizard and witch chimneys, so we took the floo network." Rose groaned before Tom the innkeeper came back, "I have three rooms open Miss. But one is on a higher floor, is this alright?" Rose nodded, "Of course, I'll take the higher floor, Alice and Cedric can take the lower ones." Rose turned to Alice, "I can just come down and spend time in your room." I'm more used to walking a lot more than them, Rose thought as she wished Alice's parents farewell. She followed with Cedric and Alice to their rooms, Cedric yawning as Alice muttered about waking up early. Rose turned to them, "if you want we can all meet up around lunch time? I'm well rested and need to go to Gringotts anyway. Plus Merlin needs a checkup." Alice hugged her before saying they would all meet up after a nap, "Besides, Cedric could use a bit of beauty rest." Cedric shoved Alice in her room as Rose snickered, "Shut it git. See you soon."

Rose followed Tom up the stairs as she entered her room, it was across from another, where there was a hoot. She put down her trunk, calling for Merlin. When they exited the room Rose heard a familiar voice, "Rose?" Rose turned holding Merlin before smiling brightly, "Harry!" Merlin oohed towards Harry with a threatening glare. Harry seemed to recoil back as Rose fussed at Merlin, "Be nice. You know Harry. Remember, he's Hedwig's friend." Merlin seemed to pause in his action before continuing to glare. Rose sighed, as she held Merlin close and offered Harry an apologetic expression. Harry only smiled as he motioned down the hall to the stairs, "Are you headed to Diagon alley?" Rose smiled and nodded, "Yes, I was going to give Merlin a check up. I need to go to Gringotts and deposit some money as well as exchange it too. They are always so nice to me." Harry looked as if he didn't believe Rose, for in his experience the Goblins were not very friendly. He remembered all too well how nervous he felt as he was stared down by the teller his first time in the Wizarding bank.

"Well I'm headed down there as well, I'll walk you if you'd like." Rose smiled at him before nodding and happy to walk down the stairs with Harry. They began to talk about random things, "I think there was a Hag not that long ago. They ordered some sort of liver." Rose grimace muttering about how liver sounded kinda gross. Harry smiled as he asked about the time at Cedric's before Merlin grew restless. "Merlin, I'll meet up with you later. Go meet some fellow owls. Meet me near the ice cream parlor." Merlin ooohed before graciously flying out of her arms. Harry tapped the bricks causing Rose to giggle, "What was that for?" Rose smiled at him before saying, "I just thought of Cedric being doused in vingar. He made a mistake on the entrance of Hufflepuff and was caught." Harry smiled with a laugh as the duo strolled down the loud and ever busy Diagon Alley. The two were in a joyous mood. Harry pointing out different places, he seemed to know Diagon alley very well. Rose would nod and smile before explaining her excitement for classes, Harry sharing them as the strolled up the steps of Gringotts. It was a massive white building, marbled and elagant. Many witches and wizards alike were flowing through the large ornate doors. Rose was laughing as they waited in line, some witches looking with a smile while others seemed irritated at the noise the two had been making. Harry was getting ready to talk when he saw the goblin teller. They had large teeth, long claw-like fingers and pointy ears, the goblin glared towards Harry. Harry felt his stomach clench unpleasantly looking at the goblin. The goblin was starting to speak until it turned to the noise Rose made.

"Good morning Mr. Griphook! How are you doing? And how is Balguen?" The glare disappears the moment it sets eyes on Rose, their teeth shining in a horrifyingly friendly smile, "Ms. Park, how wonderful to see you again. Has it become a year already?" Rose giggled as she nodded, "Already Dear sir. Do you know anything interesting so far? Last I remember you were about to check for thieves in a door." The goblin's eyes gleamed as he nodded, "Why yes, there were three." He paused for Rose's intrigued gasp as she handed him her key. "And then we made sure to check the waterfall again. Always works." Rose smiled happily, "That's wonderful to hear. I have this amount to deposit in my account, as I know it will be the safest in your capable hands." Rose was beaming towards the goblin, who took a massive envelope before nodding, "Anything else?" Rose nodded before explaining, "I need to make a withdrawal as well. If that's alright." She earned a chuckle from Griphook and the nearby tellers, "For you Ms. Park? That's quite alright." Harry couldn't seem to understand the things occurring until Rose giggled and grabbed his arm. They entered into the carts, Harry rather liked the carts. It was like a roller coaster, at least that's what he imagined, for he never went on one. He vaguely listened to the conversation over the roar of wind and looking around. Rose was discussing things and apparently being quizzed by the coin exchange. She laughed as she explained the coins of wizard money, "17 sickles to a galleon, 29 Knuts in a sickle, and 493 knuts to a galleon." Griphook nodded before Rose held up her hands laughing loudly down the carts. Harry and herself thoroughly enjoy the ride, their cheers echoing off the caverns.

The cart stopped rather suddenly as Rose leaped out on almost unsteady feet in front of a large vault. Harry was unsurprised as he noticed the massive door to the little key Rose must have given to Griphook. Griphook opened the door and motioned for Rose to enter, she then entered with her coin purse and scooped up generous amounts of each sorted pile. Harry was rather surprised at the amount she had before Rose noticed, she turned pink saying she was lucky with her family. Harry nodded in understanding before he followed her out, their ride encouraged more cheers from the two magical teenagers. Once they made it back to the blinding sun and after she had thanked both goblins who helped her the two took off towards the ice cream parlor. Rose was humming to herself as the duo enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Diagon Alley. Rose heard from Harry about seeing Neville and his grandmother, Rose was sad she missed her friend.

"So how did you do on Snape's essay?" Rose smiled as she muttered, "I went at least one piece of parchment over. But there are so many different styles and ideas. Plus when you think about the ingredents and meanings…" Rose rambled off muttering about things such as nettles and how a god used them to make fishing nets. Harry couldn't help but smile at her as she approached her owl, Merlin who was looking as if he wanted to fly away. Rose held her large owl and cooed over him, Harry followed as they walked towards the large owl emporium. Merlin had began to shift uncomfortably, Rose whispered towards Merlin who still looked uneasy but a little less stiff. Rose smiled as she entered the shop, the same man stood there looking over, "Ah! You've come to return him? As I figured. He was never a nice bird. Especially for a lady like you-" Rose's eyes narrowed into slits as she held Merlin, "Excuse me?" The person apparently didn't seem to notice the change in her attitude but Harry watched about to grab her. The person reached grab to the poor Bird who snapped at him nipping his finger, "Ouch! Damn bird." Rose handed Merlin to a stunned Harry, her eyes becoming dangerous. Merlin looked shocked like Harry as she prowled towards the clerk.

"How dare you." The clerk looked up from his bleeding finger only to see the once sweet girl alter, "M-Ma'am?" She stalked towards him almost as if she would pounce, "How dare you, put your hands on my owl? How dare you accuse me of giving up a living creature." She stood in front of him no longer looking like the oposite of a brooding merlin, but as if she was ready to attack. She snarled towards him, "You pathetic man. You wonder why animals don't like you when you treat them like they are dirt." She pointed her finger at him, lifting herself up as if she was royalty, "If I so much as hear one more word about you… if you even breath in Merlin's direction-I will destroy you. You won't have to worry about He-who-must-not-be-named." She glared at him as he cowered as she turned towards Harry, "Come on Harry. Let's go to a store where they care about animals. Merlin?" Merlin looked at her before hooting loudly and flying in her arms, she lost her terrifying attitude and began to laugh cheerfully holding her beloved owl. Merlin nuzzled her cheek with his beak as Harry smiled at the two before following her. Rose turned to Harry, "I'm sorry about that. I was hoping to talk to you." Harry waved his hand, "No not at all. What's up?" She smiled as she explained her time at Cedric's. She walked into a new animal home, with tons of animals squeaking, croaking, meowing through the area. She observed the lady who motioned gently towards Merlin who seemed more comfortable. As he was checked Rose was praised for his excellent health, Rose beamed as Merlin was praised as well, merlin was pleased as he was given a few treats. Harry looked at the sign outside as Rose thanked the lady and bought some new things for Merlin.

"So, What's it like being in the Leaky cauldron?" Harry smiled as he began to explain his adventures in Diagon alley, from doing his homework, which Rose offered to go over his potions papers for him, to the getting of his books and new robes. "I saw Nevile not that long ago. He lost his school list." Rose smiled softly as she giggled, "He has always forgotten things. But I feel like that's rather endearing." Harry smiled slightly at her before asking about who she was in contact with. Rose smiled as she sat in front of Harry, they had made their way to the Leaky cauldron. Rose looked around, "Well Cedric, Alice, yourself, Nevile, Ginny, Blaise, Vincent and Greggory too. Colin did send a letter but apparently Merlin got upset when he returned one and refused to go back." Rose shrugged as Merlin made a noise and flew away, Harry looked confused, "Blaise, Vincent and Greggory? Isn't that Malfoy's friends?" Rose frowned as she seemed slightly stiff at the mention of Draco, "Yes. But they were still nice to me. I know you don't like them-" Harry shrugged, "I mean I'm not too upset. Blaise I haven't really met. I'm just glad you're not talking to Malfoy. After what he did?" Rose very hardly said, "I know what he did. I don't need to be reminded." Harry apologized before they sat silently but Rose began to talk to him about Hogsmeed.

"Are you going?" Harry sighed as he shook his head, "They didn't sign my form." Rose looked upset before she reached out and touched his arm, "I understand. If you'd like, I can spend some time with you on trips." Harry smiled at her as he shook his head, "It's okay, you should go have fun." Rose looked at him before saying, "I'm glad I can be your friend Harry. Don't be nervous to talk to me." Rose sighed as she stood up, "Well… You know I'm always willing to help Harry. I better go up, Cedric and Alice might be trying to kill each other again." She laughed softly before gently squeezing his shoulder and walking away, Harry smiling as she left. She walked up stairs hearing her best friends bickering. "She's not even here yet! Why are you waking me up?" Alice was whisper yelling as Cedric snorted, "Believe me I would let you get all the beauty rest in the world. You need it more than me." Alice sounded like she smacked him before Rose turned the corner, "If anyone needs beauty sleep… it's both of you because I'm perfect." Alice and Cedric both started laughing as the trio walked down the stairs. Alice was talking all about her trip, explaining the new things she learned while complaining about all the homework.

"How am I supposed to write about the different potions if I have to learn it?!" Rose laughed at her friend as the trio strolled past Harry, who was hiding in the paper he had found. Cedric muttered about his OWLs he would have to take, "How am I supposed to study for them and be ready for Quidditch?" Rose shrugged as they entered Diagon alley, Cedric and Rose admired the stunning broom, The Firebolt in quality quidditch supplies. Alice had to push them both, "Come on! We need to get robes and stuff." Rose and Cedric both complained as she dragged and shoved them away from the marvelously polished handle before they strolled into Madam Malkins. Rose entered first causing the wonderful owner to smile at her. "Hello dear! It's wonderful to see you again!" Rose smiled back as she greeted her, Alice and Cedric pleased at the happy atmosphere. The trio discussed the different ideas they had for the year, Cedric discussed activities they could do at Hogsmeade, "The shrieking shack is always a good place to go. It's the most haunted place in england." Rose paused as she frowned looking at Cedric, "Really?" Alice scrunched up her nose as she complained, "I'd rather go to the Three Broomsticks, they have butterbeer, and delicious snacks." Cedric nodded before he looked at her and said, "But the best place is-'' In unison they said "Honeydukes." Rose looked surprised at their agreement, "Well it must be the best if you two are agreeing." The trio laughed as the owner and her helpers smiled at the joyful attitude. The trio exited together with their robes and headed to the apothecary, but Rose shared a smile with Cedric, I've already stocked with Halmonee.

They entered the shop as Alice grumbled about the different items, Rose managed to stop her from buying some off-smelling mint sprigs. Cedric grossed Alice out by waving a puffer fish eye at her causing her to turn rather green. Rose fussed at him lightly for messing with ingredients he wasn't buying. Soon the trio wandered to the bookshop, Alice and Rose strolled around gathering their standard books, Cedric got a study guide for OWLs. Rose and Alice walked to the back before Rose paused at a book. There was a large black dog on the cover of one of the books, she tilted her head before Alice handed her her book. "It's just something people to say to spook people." Rose couldn't help but notice her shift in tone as she rushed out of the room. Rose smiled as she agreed, "Yeah. There are all kinds of stories like that. Besides, we all know that this is just a class to share, right?" Alice smiled, seeming to be comforted as Cedric was seen chatting to the owner of the shop. The owner looked devastated as Cedric said something and then waved towards the two. Rose smiled cheerfully as she raced over, "Did you find your books, Ced?" Cedric smiled at her and nodded, "Yeah, did you get your garbage divination books?" Alice rolled her eyes but said nothing before turning to the owner, "Can we get three Monster Book of Monsters books?" The owner seemed to sob causing Rose to feel horrible as she offered to help. The owner said no before grabbing three books and binding them as they bought the books. Rose paused as she thought about something, "I'll be right back. There is a book I wanted." She raced up the stairs before pausing ever so slightly at the balcony. Rose observed the space between books on the balcony before turning to the bookshelf. Easily finding the book she had Draco read to her, she nodded before strolling down stairs ignoring the pang.

"Alright, now that we have all our books what else do we need?" Alice looked at her list as she hummed, "I don't really know. We got our potions ingredients, robes, books… are you guys good on your ink?" Rose nodded as Cedric nodded too. The trio smiled as they walked back to the room, Rose joined Cedric and Alice in Cedric's room. The trio took out their books, Cedric groaning as he grabbed the Monster Book of Monsters. "These things were tearing each other apart when I asked for one." Alice tried to open her book before shrieking as it lunged at her face. The book snarled and growled, flapping at her feet as she dodged it, Rose and Cedric both gasped as they tried to maneuver out of the way. Cedric stood on a chair as Rose and Alice stood on the bed as it scurried away underneath. Rose tried to think of what to do as Alice cried out, "WHO THOUGHT OF A BOOK WHO WOULD EAT YOU?!" Rose grabbed the binding Alice had undone before smiling. "Floor is lava. So…" she looked around before stepping on the nightstand, and maneuvering onto the windowsill. Alice and Cedric looked confused, "Floor is what?" Cedric shook his head, "If you fall and get hit by the book dad'll kill me." Rose looked to the next spot, the dresser as she stretched to it, the book growled as if watching her. She stood on the dresser before smiling, "Come get me you waste of parchment." The book rushed towards her at the insult, Cedric shouting and Alice screaming, she waited till the book was close enough to grab it, quickly binding it while placing her weight on the book. She grunted as it nicked her finger but smiled after.

"Got it!" Cedric muttered about her being crazy as Alice squealed and hugged her. "My hero!!!" Rose laughed as she hugged her back before grabbing her own book and looked at it. It was a vivid green book, with sharp teeth. Cedric began to talk about the trip to hogsmeed before he smirked, "You might be asked out to hogsmeed." He looked at Alice who looked thrilled while Rose snorted, "Yeah, and you'll be a lizard." Cedric laughed as Alice shook her head, "Cmon Rose, at least think about it. It is a posibility." Rose shrugged before she sat down holding the book up towards her, but it still binded shut. She could admit she thought about it, but she wasn't sure still, "I mean, sure. But how likely is it someone will ask us to Hogsmeed when they haven't even gone yet?"
