"Lani get up you need to start gettin ready for yo appointment." My mama said pullin my covers off
I groaned
"Just a little more time ma."
"Girl get yo ass up!" She yelled walkin out
I rolled my eyes standing up
I walked into my connected bathroom grabbin my toothbrush and started brushin them
"Lani you got my shirt?" Niyah asked
I turned around
"what shirt?" It was muffled since I had toothpaste in my mouth
She mugged
"Girl ew." She said diggin in my dresser
I spit the toothpaste out rinsin my mouth
"What shirt are you talkin bout." I said walkin out the bathroom
"The black one with the ruffled sides." She said
"Girl where the fuck you goin early this morning anyways?" I asked puttin my grey leggings on
"Lani it's one o'clock in the afternoon.." she said lowly
"Damn really." I said throwing my black hoodie and my Nike socks on
"I found it." She smiled
"But I'm goin over dd's while you at your appointment."
"Oh okay cool." I grabbed my black Ugg's throwing them on
"Lani let's go!" My mama yelled
"I'm comin!" I grabbed my phone and wallet
"Well Ill see you later." I told Aniyah
"Alright." She walked back off into her room
"Niyah make sure you lock dis door on your way out!" Our mama yelled at her
"Yes ma'am!" She yelled back
Closin the door behind us I walked to the passenger side of the door
"Did you tell ddot we on the way to get him?" She said
"Ah let me do that right now."
I pulled my phone out texting him that we was on the way
We literally lived 5 minutes apart so it wasn't gonna take no time
He immediately texted back okay
"Alright he's ready." I said puttin my seatbelt on
"Okay." She said reversin out the driveway
"You ready?"
I looked at her
"Uh yeah a little nervous I'm still sorry about all of this mama." I mumbled
"It's okay Baby I know." She said pullin up to ddot house
She honked the horn
Seconds later ddot came out he was dressed in gray sweatpants and a white tee
"Hey." He said gettin into the car
"Do you know how cold it is boy. Where yo coat at?" My mama asked lookin over her shoulder at him
"I'm not that cold." He chuckled
"Mhm." She turned back around startin the car up

"Alright yall let's go."
I unbuckled my seatbelt openin the car door steppin out
"Come on it's cold." My mama shivered
Me and ddot sped walked in
"I have an appointment for Nalani Brown." She said to the lady at the front desk
"Alright just have a seat and they will be right with you."
The three of us sat down and waited for the doctor
"Nalani Brown!" Somebody yelled
"Come on." My mama said walkin behind the doctor
"Alright so we here for an ultrasound?" She asked us
"Yes." I said sittin on the table
ddot and my mama sat on the two chairs that were there
"Okay imma need you to lift your shirt and the gel is gonna be a little cold."
I lifted up my hoodie
She squeezed the gel on my stomach
"Alright let's see here." She moved the thing around until she found a small dot
"That right there is your baby." She said pointin at the screen
I looked over in awe
"Ain't nothin there." ddot said
"It takes time to fully see a change but babies start off as a small little dot." She laughed
I shook my head at ddot cluelessness
"Do you guys have any questions?" She asked takin off her gloves
"Um when will the sickness stop?" I asked sittin up from my laying position
She chuckled
"You're gonna get sick the whole way I'm sorry to break it to you."
I smacked my lips
"Now Lani." My mama side eyed me
"Sorry but the sickness be killin me." I groaned
"Yeah it happens but I will see you for your next appointment in about a month okay?"
I nodded my head
"Thank you." My mama smiled
"Let's go y'all."
Me and ddot stood up walkin back to the car with her
"You didn't say much." I said lookin over at him
"Uh yeah just still in shock you know?" He said
I nodded my head in agreement
"Y'all hungry?" She asked puttin her Seatbelt on
"I know you is Lani."
"Yeah I want some McDonald's."
"That's okay with you Darrian?"
"Yeah dats cool."
She nodded her head
"How are y'all feeling?"
"I feel better now just worried about school and stuff." I said
"I'm still tryna get use to it." ddot said
"Yeah It's gonna take some time."
"I'm just glad your here for her."
"Yeah I always will be."
