MY SIDE OF THE STORY

Main Character

I have been following a script for almost all my life
I have been memorising all the gestures and lines
And have been wearing a mask this whole time
Along with costumes, all colourful and wild
But now, I am extremely tired.
I am tired of always playing a part
I am tired of always having a supporting role
I am tired of always being left to the side
And never get the spotlight.
I want to do more, to be more
Even if people will talk about it behind the scenes
I do not care anymore
Because now I am on the stage, ready to play.
I want to improvise
And if I mess up my own lines
I will try again
And come up with something else.
Now I am my own narrator
I am the main character of my life
And this is my side of the story.
