Kakashi had spent two years in The Land of Sun. He had adapted to life as a samurai well. He thought the transition would be difficult. Dropping jutsu for different Kenjutsu styles he learned that true Samurai masters were on the level of a Kage or Sanin.
Using his Sharingan he learned the different styles from different divisions and masters. Many samurai based a style of an element of chakra but didn't commit to actually generating the element. The Lieutenant that he had fought when he first arrived was one said warrior. His element being water. He emulated the flow of water to make his moves in ending and adaptable.
The crazy part of that, was his ability to adjust his chakra in different ways through his body. Whether it was speed or strength.
Kishima and Kakashi had become close friends since he arrived. His new friend was reserved and straight forward. Rarely did he allow emotion to take over. "Kakashi, I heard you started learning laido?"
Looking away from Naruto who was trying to force a cat to friend him, "Hai. I would like to be proficient enough to teach Naruto if he wishes."
Looking out at the boy he nodded, "He has a great burden. Even if he decides to not be a warrior he will be threatened." Looking at his ex-shinobi friend he saw a hint of saddnes in his eye. "I understand why Minato sensei did what he did. I just wish I could garentee his safety."
Tenya who had been listening decided to make his presence known, "Nobody can garentee safety or peace. We can only stay prepared for what we can. You are a good brother to him young Hatake."
"I hope so." Kakashi let out a sigh and leaned against the tree he was sitting in front of. Kishima gave a small smile. "Well you have prepared all the children training to be samurai how to fight a Anbu level ninja. Increasing their situational awareness to levels in heard of before."
"He is right. My boys both have improved vastly since your arrival." Nito and Hiro both viewed the blond Uzumaki as a baby brother. Even forgoing training to spend time with him. "They have been great for Naruto."
Tenya could tell the teenage warrior was blushing under that mask, "Maybe, but you have lived your life alone. Perhaps you have found what you lost?"
Before he could respond a messenger appeared, "Sorry Lord Uzumaki!" Bowing he held out a scroll. "Kishima, Kakashi you are to head to the General Ookuricara immediately. I and Kyoto will watch Naruto."
Making their way to the General's main building of the Defense division they entered to see several of the commanders and Lieutenants standing by. Bowing, "You called for us General." Kishima bowed, "Yes, Land of Wave has several ships that are about to land on the island with around twelve hundred Shinobi."
The commander was a mountain of a man. He had a katana but his his primary weapon was a Naganata. He had short black hair. Green eyes and fair skin. His armor was red with images of different floral. Instead of having kode plates on both shoulders he had one only on his left side.
That had gotten Kakashi's attention, "That is why you have me here as well?" Kakashi looked at his commanding officer who nodded back at the ex-shinobi. "I know I have not been kind to your...... assignment to my legions but, I believe you are the best man for this job."
Kakashi nodded, "Hai. I will do what I can." Everyone immediately started talking Preparation of the enemy troops. How they passed by their own fleets without being seen. Though this island was small, many of their trades went through thier ports. Losing here could decimate their trade with foreign powers.
Looking at the terrain Kakashi had an idea, "Excuse me. But I may have an idea."
Gesturing to the map Kakashi stood up, "Just send Kishima's Platoon." Everyone looked at him like he was crazy, "You want to send six hundred men against a force of over twelve hundred."
Kakashi nodded, "Yes, a force of four hundred will take on the main force head on. Send a hundred to the left and right onto these ridges. Archers can rain hell on them until we push. Lastly give me five skilled samurai."
Kakashi pulled a small marker, "I will take an elite team and we will wait until they are over us. After four volleys of arrow charge. That's when we will launch our attack in the center of their formations." Ookuricara looked at the map and contemplated, "What if you lose?" Kakashi smiled, "You keep a larger force in reserve for a counter attack."
He saw the man smiled, "Maybe we will get along better then I thought. I want five samurai sent to the Uzumaki compound to meet Kakashi."
With meeting ending Kishima and Kakashi headed back to the compound, "You did good Kakashi. Maybe even impress him enough to get you a specialist squad." Kakashi hummed in response. He honestly wasn't to sure what to think. It was not a secret that the Leaf had potitioned to have him returned for trial. Even threatening war.
Tenzō had to of filled in the Hokage, however he is sure that the council branded him a traitor. Maybe one day he will return home. Even bring Naruto with him.
Kyoto and the three boys were outside. Nito and Hiro were sparing while Kyoto was watching and examining their form. "Good now time for some chain training."
Both boys nodded before unleashing their chains on targets. Naruto bounced in excitement watching them, "Big Brother!" Naruto yelled once he noticed Kakashi return. Naruto charged and jumped into his arms, "I'm so excited your back!"
"Were you good for Tenya and Kyoto?" Naruto nodded, "Good boy. Now go play and leave the boys to they're training."
Meeting with Tenya, the two samurai filled him in on their meeting. Looking at Kakashi, "So when will this take place?"
"Tomorrow night we set the trap." Tenya nodded, "You are skilled, but rely to much on ninja ways. Have you had success with the Kenjutsu style you've been creating?"
Giving the man an eyes smile, Kakashi nodded, "Yes but I have not tested it in actual combat."
He had been taking his Raikiri and applying it to his sword combat. Dispersing the electricity through out his body, increasing his speed and cutting power. The problem before was he need to use the sharingan to complete the jutsu. That process wasn't completely necessary anymore. Now he could slow and speed himself up on a whim. Though the sharingan still assisted greatly in combat.
"Well after seeing you train with it. I'd assume it will be quite effective at combatting shinobi." Kishima spoke as he sat on the ground with his katana across his lap.
As the three talked about the impending invasion. A group of five samurai appeared. Kishima gestured to the new arrivals, "Your squad is here."
Kakashi took each one. The first man was a giant, he was easily towered over the average man. Kakashi thought he could have been part of the Akimichi clan. He was bald and had standard brown eyes, however tattoos formed from his scalp down the back of his neck. Though he had a Katana, his primary weapon in him was a kanabo. His amror was light, leaving his arms a shoulders open for attack.
A man around the size of him or Kishima, was a typical samurai. Except Kakashi noticed the spikey red hair. Being an Uzumaki made him an extremely powerful ally. His armor was Navy blue with different styles of coy fish decorating the plates.
Walking next to him was a woman of muscular build. She had her hair tied into two lon braids. She wore black armor with a orange dragon going down the back. Along with her katana she wielded a naginata.
After her was a boy around fourteen. He was small and as a weapon only carried a wakizashi. He had green armor decorated in flowers. Purple hair and hazel eyes.
Finally the last samurai, she had red armor. Carrying three weapons, a katana, wakizashi, and here main weapon being an odachi. Her black hair was cut short like Kakashi's. All three bowed to Kakashi and Kishima.
"This is your new comanding officer Kakashi Hatake." They all bowed, "Kakashi, these five are all powerful and skilled samurai. Treat them well. I shall prepare the rest of my troops."
"As he told you I'm Kakashi. We are fighting together, so don't worry to much about protocol. Tell me about yourselves."
The youngest of the group jumped up, "Hi! I'm Kiego Ishiko! Your not much older then me, I'm about to turn fourteen. I love fried rice! My dream is to become the fastest samurai alive and become an honor guard to the Daimyo!"
Kakashi gave the boy an eye smile, "Nice to meet you Keigo." 'This kid has a lot of energy.'
"I'm Nemi Kurushen." The large girl spoke next bowing again to Kakashi, "I am twenty-seven. I want to show women can be just as powerful as men in war." Kakashi liked her, she reminded him of Kurenai.
The Uzumaki smiled, "I heard you were a Shinobi of the leaf before here and brought a survivor of the clan! That makes you a clansman to! I'm Yukon Uzumaki. My main skill is healing and chakra replenishment. My dream is the same as any other Uzumaki. To see our clan prosper again."
"I am Viet Yamuna. I am seventeen. I don't have any dreams but I'm excited to fight with you. Kishima told me you are creating your own technique. I am excited to see what you do." She smiled at Kakashi.
Kakashi looked at the last warrior, "I am Uto Karmasuti." His voice was oddly femine for how he looked. "I collect flowers and try to avoid conflict as much possible. I would like to open a tea shop when I retire from being a samurai."
"Well as you heard I was a Shinobi of the leaf. We will be laying a trap for the ninja that are threatening Sun Country. We will be the vanguard that will split their forces for our men."
"Hai!" Kakashi couldn't help but grin. He hadn't been fighting for something other then a memory in years. Now here he is, fighting for a land he never knew he'd love. Looking over at Naruto he knew he needed to succeed.
His team left that night. They hide in a small hatch hidden in a mound off sand and grass. They had an entire day of waiting so they got comfortable. Getting to know each other better.
Uto and Yukon were talking about their favorite tea. Kakashi and Viet were talking about different styles and how to combat Shinobi Ninjutsu. While Keigo and Nemi talked about their families. Nemi being similar to his older brother.
Kakashi woke up mid day to the sound of the Hidden Mist Advancing force. Waking up his team they all quietly put their armor in. Kakashi's armor was dark blue, with white and gold accents. A white wolf painted the front of the armor. Placing his katana on his side they all waited for the battle to begin.
"Only a few hundred samurai came to fight. Arrogant fools. They should know.they can't stand against an army of Shinobi." They heard the other ninja laughing and walking with confidence.
Kishima stood over his troops looking at the army making its way towards him. Showing no emotion he lifted his sword giving the signal. The archers of the first and second companies rained down on the Shinobi.
Kakashi heard arrows hitting dozens of ninja. Others threw up water barriers to stop the onslaught. On the third round they all drew their weapons. Kakashi heard the final volley and counted down. On three he heard the yells of their forces charging. Two he heard different jutsu shooting towards them. On one they burst through the exit.
Chakra running through his blade, Kakashi slashed out cutting entirely through two of the Shinobi. "Wh-" before the another could finish his response Uto crushed him with a powerful hit.
His team separated but maintained visual of each other. Keigo looked to see a small group of Shinobi charge at him. One fired water bullets while the other two attempted to use Kenjutsu. Using his insane speed he easily dodged the shots. Appearing behind on of the ninja he stabbed him in the neck.
"Wow! You guys aren't that great!" A smile grew on the boy's face. As one of the blades came down towards side stepping the first one he struck back. Slashing across his chest. Grabbing the falling ninja's katana, in one seamless move he threw the sword into the man's chest. Chuckling he moved on to his next opponents.
Veit took on a two squads of Shinobi. As she moved, one threw up a rock wall blocking the blade of her odachi. Quickly spinning she deflect the Kunai that were thrown at her. Pushing chakra into her balde, she swung. The four Shinobi that had attacked were all sliced in half. Quickly bring her blade back she engaged two more. Blocking and parrying their attacks, using her hilt she hit one of the ninja in the throat. Sliding on her knees she slashed at the konouchi's legs, dropping her down. Pulling her odachi up stabbing the other ninja the chest before he could recover.
Pushing the konouchi onto her back. The samurai looked down mercilessly. Flipping her blade down. Aiming it at the girls skull she dropped her sword. Pulling it back out she looked up to see their three defense groups effectively pushing the ninja back.
Spinning her naginata, Nemi cut through the enemy ninja as if they were paper. Using her chakra she thrust her weapon forward. Concentrated chakra shot through the chests of several ninja. Before she could celebrate a giant water dragon appeared charging towards her. Barely blocking the attack she looked to see a dozen ninja charging to her.
Her armor broken, she stood weakened but not defeated. Moving as fast as she could she stabbed her first victim. Dropping to her knees she used the shaft of the odachi to block one man's attack. Landing a kick strong enough to throw him back. Drawing her Katana she dodged and weaved against the ninja. Not wasting any movement cutting each of them down.
Grabbing a ninja by his neck, Uto picked the poor man up. Squeezing his neck, he crushed the wind pipe before using the man as a projectile. Pulling up his kanabo, he started smashing the ninja as if they were toys. "Oh God!" Bringing down his weapon again, crushinf the Shinobi in front of him.
A Kunai stabbed into the small soft spot between his plates. Swinging up he hit the ninja into the sky. As he turned to face a few more ninja, he was saved by Yukon. Adamantine chains burst through all their chests.
Landing in front of the bigger man, Yukon cut through the ninja in front of him. Blocking another attack he flipped his katana and brought the blade down stabbing next to his neck through his chest.
Dropping him he moved to his new friend, "Uto! Let me look." Before he could heal the man, ninja charged then. Before he could grab his katana, blue lightning appeared. In a matter of seconds, Kakashi killed all of them.
Looking at another two more ninja appeared. Flexing his lightning through his katana. Yukon took this opportunity to heal Uto. "He got your lung. I have to be careful."
One of the Ninja regocnized Kakashi, "That's the copy ninja!" Using his new technique, Kakashi slashed through the ninja. Most were Chunin and a few low level Jonin. One Shinobi managed to perceive the attacks. Attempting to stop the masked ninja, he pulled out a kunai and blocked the blade. Only to be electricuted. Spinning Kakashi stabbed the man through abdomen, turning around in an instant and removing his head.
Watching the remaining ninja retreat, Kakashi sheathed his blade. "You truly are powerful Kakashi Hatake." Nemi leaned on her naginata. Looking at his team that were gathered with him. "Thank you for fighting with me today." They all bowed to him in respect.
Kishima walked up to his friend, grabbing each other arms in a brotherly shake, "Your plan worked most effectively. We are gathering the injured and we lost close to a hundred men and women but that is nothing to the losses taken by the Mist."
"Thank you Kishima." Kakashi couldn't help but smile. His little brothers were safe. That was the most important thing.
Veit decided it was time to chime in, "Well we better go celebrate." She smiled as she walked by Kakashi.
Land of Fire Konoha
Hiruzen was sitting in his office trying to write another letter to Sun Country to get back the Jinchuriki. As much as he wants to obey Minato's wishes, they need the Nine-tails. It had become apparent to the world that they no longer had a Jinchuriki.
Decided it was time to go home he signed his last peice of paperwork. Only he was interrupted by an Anbu, "Lord Hokage."
Letting out a sigh, "Yes what is it Weasel?" The Anbu stood up and pulled out a scroll, "We just got word that Kiri attacked the island of Toriyoko. Not only were they soundly defeated but we're exterminated like vermin."
Hiruzen dropped his pipe, "How is that possible. Samurai can be skilled but a peaceful nation like that?"
"My Lord they were lead by Kakashi Hatake. From our reports he has drastically increased in skill and power."
