"All students will report for their volunteer jobs at 10:00 am sharp, followed by a community lunch at 1:00" Weems announced, Elvira groaned causing The twins, Yoko and Ajax to laugh, after multiple apologies from them and Elvira telling them she wasn't angry just tired they all went back to the way they whereas it was slightly awkward the next few days after she was 'kidnapped'
"As you know this year's Outreach Day culminates in a very special event, the dedication of a new memorial statue in the town square which will also include performances by Nevermore students" Weems continued
Divina and Elvira bumped shoulders with a smile as Elvira was supposed to be dancing with Ajax "Excited" Elvira heard Kent ask "Yea it's gonna be so fun" She heard Ajax respond "As representatives of our school I trust you will all put your best face forward" Weems finished "Yes" "Yeah" the kids murmured as they moved around to talk to their friends "Thanks" The group said as Coach gave them their assignments
"What'd you get" Divina questioned looking over Elvira's shoulder, she tilted it so Divina could see it better "Pilgrim World what about you" She asked looking at the short haired girls "Nice same thing" Elvira nodded "How bout you Yoko" Elvira asks "Same as you guys" Yoko smiled "Aw man I got Uriahs Heap" Ajax whined slightly "Aw poor baby" Elvira said patting his cheek with a mocking pout
The group laughed "I got carnival clean up" Kent piped up once they settled down "Nice" Elvira high fives him before all the students get loaded on the bus towards town
"Jax stop it" Elvira mutters slapping his hand away from her paper as he kept blocking it "Please Angel" He begs "No Ajax" She tells him looking at him briefly before looking back at her paper her hand gliding across the page as she sketched before Ajax's hand blocked it again
With a slightly annoyed sigh Elvira shut her sketchbook and put it in her bag before looking towards the boy that unknowingly held her heart, reaching up she squished his cheeks together and narrowed her eyes playfully "You have my attention now Ajax is that what you wanted" She asks him still squishing his cheeks
"Ery uck o" He tried to get out making her laugh "Very much so huh" She asks making him nod before she pulled her hands away from his face and grasped the one that laid in his lap making him smile as he watched her play with his fingers
"Yo come on" Kent called jumping out of the bus with Divina behind him and Yoko a few paces behind her "Come on Jax" Elvira laughed softly grabbing his hands after seeing him look around confused and quickly catching up to the twins before following them at a slower pacer "What the hell is Crackstone doing in that picture with you" Elvira hears making her turn her head to see Xavier and Wednesday speaking
"You know who that is" Wednesday asks "Yea it's Joesph Crackstone he's like Jericho's founding father, he's kind of a big deal around here yeah look" She watches as Xavier points to two works rolling down a sign with a pilgrim on it
Elvira shudders making Ajax pull her under his arm thinking she was cold "Welcome welcome Nevermore Academy" A dark-skinned man announces with a clap and wide smile that could rival Weems "Now on behalf of the entire Jericho community we are so so pleased to have you all here today" He states "He's lying" Yoko and Elvira sync making their friends giggle as they high five
"Your generosity and hard work are truly outreachous" He laughs while they all stare at him blankly making Weems walk up quickly "Okay everyone, we'll see you back here at one o'clock for lunch enjoy" Weems claps clearly dismissing them though they didn't need further incentive as they all quickly pushed their way down the stairs
"Elvira" turning around after waving a worried friend group off Elvira was greeted with the sight of Wednesday holding out her assignment "Switch volunteer assignments with me" the dark-haired teen demands "What why" Elvira asks confused before touching the paper, her eyes switched color
She could see Wednesday working in the fudgery before helping Eugene with some bullies and cleaning him up then she could see Wednesday breaking into an old tall building and looking at a painting with a gray-colored version of her in it, they the scene changes with Wednesday at an abandoned broken house in the woods before she was sent into a vision, she watches as the blank emotioned teen looks frazzled before hearing a growl
"V" "Elvira" "Ria" "V" "El" "Angel" "Ria" "El" "Elvira" "V" "ANGEL what did you do to her" snapping out of it Elvira was greeted with all her friends looking worried and if you looked closely enough Wednesday had a hint of worry in her eyes too "She didn't do anything Jax I'm fine" Elvira whispered her eyes finally focusing
"I'll do it just be careful Wednesday something's out there" She tells the shorter teen before switching assignments and watching her leave after getting a firm nod "Please watch her" Elvira states looking at Divina and Yoko "Something bad is out there and I think Wednesdays in the middle of it" Elvira tell her group making them nod as Ajax rubbed her back soothingly
"I guess I'm with you today Jax" She whispers to him as they stand in front of a weird-looking shop "And I couldn't be happier" He tells her kissing her cheek lightly before they both walk in both immediately weirded out by it
"Are those" Ajax trails off looking in front of him in disbelief and slight horror "Yea they are" Elvira nods not even needing him to finish his sentence as they both gazed at the shelves lined with dead rodents and other animals in different positions some around a dinner table others sweeping or ironing overall just disturbing images and displays
"Do you wanna" Elvira trails off Ajax immediately answers not needing her to finish either "Yes yes please" Ajax nodded rapidly and Elvira took his hand and quickly sped them to the Weathervane where they sat in a corner hiding so no one would see them not doing their assignment
The day passed by quickly and soon it was time for Nevermore to perform making Yoko, Kent, and Divina excited to see what Ajax and Elvira cooked up "Are you excited" Divina asked jittery making Yoko smile and kiss her head with a nod while Lent let out a whoop making Yoko laugh before they quieted down seeing their friends
"Did you see that" Kent asked his sister and her girlfriend with a smile, the two girls laughed lightly "Everybody saw that Kent" Divina tells him with a big smile as they stared at the duo "They look so good together" Yoko whispered as they all gazed at the hopefully soon to be couple
"You ok Angel" Ajax asks looking down at her breathing heavily, her doing the same trying to catch their breath "I'm ok" She smiles sadly causing him to pull her into a hug and kiss her head "Your ok Angel" He whispers reassuringly, Elvira squeezed him tighter as they hugged, him reassuring her
Pulling away they bowed to the audience before moving back to the bleachers wiping their faces with towels Elvira conjured up "Woah that was so good guys" Yoko states hugging them "It was like so cool" Kent tells them, giving Elvira a high five making her smile at him "Your hard work paid off huh" Divina whispers to Elvira as they hug, the taller girl nodded happily
"I'm proud of you Elvira" Divina tells her Elvira making her eyes water slightly she hugs her friend tighter before pulling back and subconsciously flowing back into Ajax's arms making him kiss her head and smile down at her "Wednesdays next right" Xavier asks coming beside the group "And good job guys you did good" Xavier tells the duo "Thanks man and yea she's on next" Ajax answers with a nod getting one back
"She looks miserable" Yoko muttered as the group watches Wednesday perform with the normie schools band Wednesday's face was blank as always though this time it looks extra tortured and haunted "Isn't that always her face" The twins mumble back in unison before high fiving each other with large and contagious smiles causing Ajax to chuckle while Yoko slaps their heads lightly making Elvira chuckle as well now
"Is she" Xavier pauses looking at Wednesday "Smirking right now" Xavier continues squinting trying to see if what he is seeing is right, the group quickly does the same and with Elvira and Yoko's enhanced eyesight they can see Wednesday smirking which causes them to frown uneasily "Yea she is" Yoko answers "That's not good is it" Kent asks tilting his head slightly as the group shakes their heads
Just then Elvira sneezes and rubs her nose in irritation Yoko doing the same as her before sneezing again "Do you" Elvira sneezes again and again "Smell that" Another sneeze Yoko sneezing as well just then the new statue in dedication to Joseph Crackstone bursts into flames causing all the kids to scream in alarm while Yoko and Elvira sneeze for the last time rubbing their nose
Everyone evacuates off the bleachers and the normie band quickly leaves their chairs while Wednesday stays seated not fazed as she continues to play her violin amidst the chaos, Elvia whispers "Invoco elementum aquae ut ignem inimicum vincat" Twice it was a water spell that didn't work causing her to frown "Potíste edó tin klísi mou kai voithíste na svísei aftí i fotiá" She tried twice in Greek that one didn't work
Furrowing her brows Elvira held out her hands and tried both at the same time first Greek then Latin then Greek then Latin once more frowning heavily as it didn't work Elvira closed her eyes and spoke once more "Yes koch' yem anum Poseydon asttsun ognel ays kraky marel" She repeated this chant three times before the Fire finally went away only leaving the demented looking statue of Joseph Crackstone
Weems was right beside her through the whole thing narrowing her eyes at a smug-looking Wednesday and as the fire stopped Elvira's eyes rolled to the back of her head, Ajax who noticed she wasn't running with them and went back to get her quickly caught her before she hit her head on the cement
Ajax picks her up and jogs to the group who were in a circle at the end of the bus waiting anxiously to get on "Oh gosh what happened" Divina asks worriedly as she sees
the couple "She stopped the fire using her magic but it sounded like she was saying spell after spell and not one continuous like normal" Ajax anxiously answered looking down at her
"Come on let's get her to the dorm" Yoko states worriedly while looking at her friend, the shaken students quickly got on the buses and went back to Nevermore, the group took Elvira to the nurse who didn't have an answer for them as Elvira was two of a kind and not much was known about her
With frowns and distressed faces, the group with Ajax carrying Elvira went to her dorm where he laid her down before he started to pace rapidly "She should have been awake by now" Kent muttered anxiously which was weird to see, he was the joker of the group it just wasn't like him
"Maybe we should call her Uncle" Divina suggests lightly as she bit her thumb looking at her fallen friend who looked as though she was sleeping peacefully which definitely wasn't the case
"Yes yea good idea Divina let's call Kol from what Elvira's told me he's like super knowledgeable about witch things, so that means he has to have an answer to this right because my Angel wouldn't just pass out from using one spell especially if her nose isn't bleeding she told me if her nose was bleeding that means she's over-exerting herself but there wasn't any blood so that's not possible right right so that means Kol just has to have an answer for my Angel did you call him yet Yoko why hasn't he answered oh my god what if he fainted to wait that's not possible right especially not at the same time oh gosh what are we gonna do if Kol's down too who else would we call who else is close to my Angel in her family NO ONE fucking bastards they are who wouldn't like-" Reeling her hand back Yoko sharply slapped Ajax across the face bringing him back from his small mental break down
"I am calling him right now go by her side Ajax just in case she wakes up ok" She tells him gently as said teen holds his cheek mildly shocked before her words proceed and he nodded before moving towards his crush and holding her hand while looking at him worriedly
