A smile rested on your face as you stared down at the ball of fluff in your hands from a couple days ago. You practically begged Hopper to let you keep it. He went on and on about how much responsibility it would be. Luckily you got him to say yes, due to sharing custody with Eddie.

El was also falling in love with the kitten. Always comes into your room to see it and gets sad every time Eddie comes and takes it over to his house. After finally figuring out the small animal was a boy, your best friend insisted it be named Ozzy.

It took a lot of convincing, but you finally agreed on the name, which made Eddie even happier than he already was. The male never really had a pet; if he did, it usually died or ran away.

You were happy to share the cat with him, but he always took the kitten without knowing. You would spend hours searching the house looking all over for Ozzy, only to find that Eddie snuck him into his leather jacket.

The phone would ring in the male's trailer, signaling that you noticed your kitten was gone. He would laugh the entire time you lectured him about taking 'your precious child.' However, you couldn't stay mad and just let him keep Ozzy for the night.

Today, it was your turn with the little rascal. You've been having a pretty hard week dealing with so much homework. You had gotten sick for a few days due to the cold weather, better and worse outside.

Missing school for a few days wasn't something you wanted to do but had to. So there you sat in your small room with a box of tissues next to you and some medicine sitting on your bedside table. Hopper had just given you before leaving for work.

"You sure you don't want me to stay?" your dad said as he leaned against the door.

You nodded, "I'll be fine."

Hopper wasn't your biological father, but he was your dad. Always had been since he took you in from Wayne. Even though you missed being there, it felt like just the same here. Also, being lucky to have El as a little sister.

You watched the older man get hesitate at first, knowing you would be home alone. He eventually left, leaving you be. There really was nothing he needed to worry about. Even with you being the oldest, you never did anything that most teenagers do.

You didn't smoke, drink or sneak out. You've never even had a first kiss yet. Not even a boyfriend. Maybe that's because your best friend was Eddie. You guys did everything together, always. Not leaving each other's side.

But that didn't seem to stop Nate Carver.

The asshole continued to get your attention any way he could. Throwing paper your way during class, leaving notes in your locker, or just randomly talking to you down the hall.

You would ignore him either way. Nate was getting annoying, and he was completely vile. Always thinking he impressed you when he didn't. You didn't understand why he was trying so hard to get your attention.

Maybe he did like you and wanted to treat you the way you deserved. Wrong. Nate was like most boys; he only wanted one thing and one thing only, sex.

"Hello, sweets," a voice said, making you look back up from the kitten sleeping on your pillow.

A big smile spread across your face seeing Eddie standing there. He had a bag full of stuff along with a cup of tea in his hands.

Eddie had been coming over every day after school to check up on you. He hated that you weren't feeling good and wanted to do everything to help. Making you soup or bringing you medicine.

Today you actually felt better than you did a few days ago. The pain in your throat was finally going away, and you didn't feel like puking every 5 minutes. It was a minor cold. You were glad to finally be able to get out of bed without feeling nauseous.

The male finally made his way over to you after he set all the goodies down on your dresser. Eddie gently handed you the cup, which you greatly took.

"Thank you, Ed's," you said, earning a gentle kiss on your forehead. You felt pink form around your face after the small exchange of affection. It wasn't anything new, but you were melting every time Eddie showed you a tiny bit of what felt like love.

But he was always like that to you. So why would it mean anything to him?

Eddie smiled at you before immediately picking up Ozzy from your pillow. As you press the cup to your lips, you stop mid way noticing Eddie's actions, "excuse you?".

You watched as your best friend looked at you as he held the kitten close. "What?".

"Stop taking my child away from me," you said before setting the cup back down. Eddie tilted his head to the side at your words.

"OUR child, for your information," he said, making you huff out some air.

You shook your head but watched in awe as Ozzy started to claw at Eddie's curly hair. At first, it was an innocent little thing, but suddenly his little paws were stuck.

"shit," Eddie cursed, feeling the pain of the pulling. He gently tried to pull him off, but he wouldn't let go. Just kept on playing with his hair.

A giggle left your lips, and you slowly got up, noticing he needed some help. You quickly walked over to Eddie, starting to untangle the paw from his hair. The small animal meowed, making you hush him before setting him back on the bed.

"See, what would you do without me?" you joked, looking back over at him.

Eddie sighed, staring down at you with a grin that made you want to pass out. The tall male towered over you, making you feel much shorter than you were. Anything he did made you feel like butterflies exploded in your stomach.

Your whole body felt warm as he leaned closer, moving some hair from your face. Something he always did, not knowing why. Eddie continued to push the small pieces away, thinking how pretty is she.

He smiled, "I don't know, but I wouldn't be able to live without you." You tilt your head to the side as he keeps eye contact with you. You couldn't help but think if Eddie was being serious or not.

Being let down was something you heavily experienced due to the constant shit that went on as a child. If Eddie ever stopped talking to you one day, it would break you.

The fear has always been stuck in your head. You were finally a senior, and luckily Eddie was there with you. He got held back for all the wrong reasons. You used to think he did it on purpose to graduate with you, but that was a stupid thought.

Eddie's brown eyes were still intensely staring into yours. The heat you feel starts to rise between your thighs. A constant feeling you hated and loved at the same time. Not knowing what it was and why you felt that way around your best friend.

"Just don't steal Ozzy again," you finally said before going over to the bag of goodies Eddie brought.

The male groaned as you started to fumble through the bag finding some Halloween candy. You suddenly got excited and looked through all the different kinds before finding what you wanted.

"Holy mother of Ozzy, you got lollipops," you said, grabbing one of the many flavors. You quickly unwrapped it before popping it into your mouth.

Turning around, you see Eddie standing there with his mouth parted. For some reason, the boy started to fall in love with you even more. The words left your mouth without even realizing it. "What did you just say?" he said to you as the taste of cherry filled your mouth.

"Lollipops?", You shrug.

The male just closed his mouth, not knowing what to say to you. You never really cursed but would take things Eddie would sometimes say and use them. It was like you were a little mini-me version of him, which you might as well be with all the time you spend with each other.

You pull the red candy out of your mouth as he stands there with a small smile. "Now, will you take me out of this house so we can do something fun?".

Eddie nodded, knowing exactly where he wanted to take you tonight.

Eddie pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling some pain in his arm. He looked over at the tattoo artist, who was steadily moving the needle over his skin. The male has been waiting for a new tattoo for months now.

His favorite thing was showing you each tattoo he had gotten. You loved each one on his body and eventually wanted one yourself. However, the metal head kept telling you how painful it could be. It didn't bother you, but Hopper disagreed with the idea.

"Almost done," the artist said as Eddie sat in the chair.

His eyes looked over at you in the waiting room. You were sitting on your knees, looking through the tattoo book on the table. Eddie gently chewed his lip as he watched your eyes light up at every new page.

Seeing how your face knitted together at the things you didn't like. Each time you would go back to a previous page and look back at the ones you liked the most. He noticed every little thing that you did. It just showed how much he cared for you.

He knew everything you hated and anything that made you uncomfortable. Eddie was careful with you and treated you like the wonderful person you are. But you didn't know how he actually felt about you. It was something Eddie had hidden since you met. He was but a lost boy trying to find his way.

The tattoo artist started to finish up, making Eddie pay and leave the small room. He began to walk towards you seeing how occupied you were at the moment. It was no question he had a soft spot for you and only you.

"hiya, angel," he said softly, making you look up at him in front of you.

You closed the book up before standing up. As you moved around the table, your eyes scanned all around, trying to find the new ink he got. It must've been covered by his shirts sleeve which made you huff.

"Show me the tattoo," you demanded.

This made Eddie quirk an eyebrow at you. The attitude behind your words was there. You had been waiting forever, feeling hungry every minute that passed.

You stood there lightly tapping your foot, making Eddie roll his eyes, "Okay, someone needs a damn nap." He shook his head muttering a small 'what a brat' under his breath, moving his sleeve up. A gasp left your lips as you stared at the freshly made tattoo.

It was a bunch of bats.

Something you've mentioned to him before. It was a couple weeks ago when you were talking about vampires. You said how fun it would be to become one and be able to turn into a bat. The funny thing was you didn't think the male was even paying attention to anything you were saying, but he was.

Your best friend always listened to everything you talked about. No matter how dumb you thought it could be, he always payed attention even when you think he's not.

"Oh, Eddie, I love it," You said with a smile, looking up at him.

The thing about you both is Halloween was your favorite holiday. Everything about it was fun, and spending it together was even better. He was home to you. Always would be.

As you stared down at the ink, you felt happy. It made you smile so much your mouth was hurting. You looked at Eddie, "mind if I get one?".

His face gently softened, knowing you'd always wanted a tattoo. He would do it himself if he wanted to, with a good old stick and poke. Yet he knew Hopper would kill him if a drop of ink even touched his daughter.

"Maybe another time, sweetheart," he said, gently poking your nose.

You let out a dramatic sigh before nodding at his words feeling disappointed. Being able to not do anything was finally getting to you. It was really starting to annoy you.

Almost being eighteen, not having a boyfriend or even a drink before. It was embarrassing. You couldn't help but be pissed off. Maybe letting things just happen might help. Just a quick rip of the bandaid, and it would be all over.

You just hope your decision-making wouldn't get you caught. But Eddie is way too protective of you to let that happen.
