"Sending someone a care package?" Sam asks making Dean turn to the twins.

"How'd you find me?" Dean asks.

"You're going to kill yourself, right? It's not too hard to figure out the stops on the farewell tour. How's Lisa doing, anyways?" Sam asks.

"I'm not going to kill myself." Dean argues.

"Dean, you're giving yourself up to Michael. That's basically suicide." Natalie says.

"What the hell, man? This is how it ends? You just... walk out?" Sam asks.

"Yeah, I guess." Dean says.

"How could you do that?" Sam asks.

"How could I? All you've ever done is run away." Dean says.

"Dean..." Natalie mumbles.

"And I was wrong. Every single time I did." Sam says. "Just... please. Not now. Bobby is working on something."

"Oh, really? What?" Dean asks. The twins only glance at each other. "You got nothing and you know it."

"You know we have to stop you." Sam says.

"Yeah, well, you can try. Just remember -- you're not all hopped up on demon blood this time." Dean says.

"Yeah, I know. But we brought help." Sam says.

Dean turns around and finds Cas who knocks him out with two fingers to the forehead.

+++

"Yeah, no, this is good. Really. You know, eight months of turned pages and screwed pooches, but tonight, tonight's when the magic happens." Dean sarcastically remarks as he paces in Bobby's living room.

"You ain't helpin'." Bobby comments.

"Yeah, well, why don't you let me get out of your hair, then?" Dean asks.

"Would you stop being an annoying piece of shit for, like, five minutes?" Natalie asks.

"That's rude." Libby frowns.

"Well, it's true." Natalie remarks.

"Okay, snappy comments away from the child, please." Sam says.

"Sorry." Natalie mutters.

"What the hell happened to you?" Bobby asks Dean.

"Reality happened. Nuclear's the only option we have left. Michael can ice the devil, save a boatload of people." Dean says.

"But not all of them. We gotta think of something else." Bobby says.

"Yeah, well, that's easy for you to say. But if Lucifer burns this motherfucker down, and I could've done something about it, guess what? That's on me." Dean says.

"You can't give up, son." Bobby says.

"You're not my father. And you ain't in my shoes." Dean states.

"Dean." Natalie hisses.

Bobby pulls a gun out of his desk, setting it down. He then pulls a pocket out of his shirt pocket.

"What is that?" Dean asks.

"That's the round that I mean to put through my skull." Bobby says. He puts the bullet on the desk. "Every morning, I look at it. I think, "Maybe today's the day I flip the lights out." But I don't do it. I never do it. You wanna know why?" He asks.

"Because I promised you I wouldn't give up!" Bobby shouts at Dean.

The group are in silence for a few moments before Cas groans in pain and holds his head.

"Cas, you okay?" Sam asks.

"No." Cas answers.

"What's wrong?" Sam asks.

"Something's happening." Cas states.

"Where?" Dean asks, but Cas just disappears.

"God, I hate when he does that." Natalie grumbles.

"Once again -- buy a bell." Ophelia insists.

~ ~ ~

Most of them are still researching and Sam and Dean are in the kitchen. They hear wind and it blows papers around and Natalie turns to see Cas with some guy who is covered in dirt and mud.

"Help." Cas says.

"Boys!" Bobby yells out as Jacob and Larissa quickly get up, helping Cas get the boy to the cot. "Who is it?"

"Holy shit." Natalie mutters, recognizing the boy.

"That's our brother." Sam states.

"Wait a minute. Your brother? Adam?" Bobby asks.

"Cas, what the hell?" Dean asks.

"Angels." Cas states.

"Angels? Why?" Sam asks.

"I know one thing for sure. We need to hide him now." Cas says. He puts his hand on Adam's chest and brands his ribs with the Enochian symbols and Adam wakes up.

"Where am I?" Adam asks.

"It's okay. Just relax, you're safe." Sam says.

"Who the hell are you?" Adam asks.

"You're going to find this a little-- a lot crazy, but we're actually your siblings." Dean says. "Well, us three." He points between him and the twins.

"It's the truth. John Winchester was our father, too. See, I'm Sam--"

"Yeah, and I'm sure that's Dean and Natalie. I know who you are." Adam says.

"How?" Natalie asks.

"They warned me about you." Adam says.

"Who did?" Dean asks.

"The angels. Now, where the hell is Zachariah?" Adam asks.

~ ~ ~

"So why don't you just tell us everything? Start from the beginning." Dean tells Adam who took a shower and is in clean clothes.

"Well, I was dead and in Heaven. Except it-it, uh, kinda looked like my prom and I was making out with this girl. Her name was Kristin McGee--"

"Yeah, that sounds like Heaven. Did you get to third base?" Dean asks. Sam clears his throat, giving his brother a look.

"Why don't we stick to the main issue?" Larissa suggests.

"Just, uh, just keep going." Sam tells Adam.

"Well, these... these angels, they popped out of nowhere, and they tell me that I'm chosen." Adam says.

"For what?" Sam asks.

"To save the world." Adam says.

"How you gonna do that?" Dean asks.

"Oh, me and some archangel are going to kill the devil." Adam says.

"What archangel?" Dean asks.

"Michael. I'm his, uh, sword or vessel or something, I don't know."

"That's insane." Dean says.

"Not necessarily." Cas says.

"How do you mean?" Dean asks.

"Maybe they're moving on from you, Dean." Cas says.

"Well, that doesn't make sense." Dean says.

"He is John Winchester's bloodline, Sam's brother. It's not perfect, but it's possible." Cas says.

"Well, you gotta be kidding me." Dean mutters.

"Why would they do this?" Sam asks.

"Maybe they're desperate. Maybe they wrongly assumed Dean would be brave enough to withstand them." Cas says.

"All right, you know what? Blow me, Cas." Dean says.

"Look, no way. After everything that's happened? All that crap about destiny? Suddenly the angels have a plan B? Does that smell right to anybody?" Sam asks.

"You know, this has been a really moving family reunion, but, uh, I got a thing, so--"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, no, no, no." Sam stops him. "Sit down. Just listen, okay? Please."

"It's unbelievable." Adam mumbles.

"Now, Adam... the angels are lying to you. They're full of crap." Sam says.

"Yeah, I don't think so." Adam says.

"Really? Why not?" Sam asks.

"Um, cause they're angels." Adam says like it's obvious.

"They tell you they were gonna roast half the planet?" Sam asks.

"They said the fight might get pretty hairy, but it is the devil, right? So we got to stop him." Adam says.

"Yeah, but there's another way." Sam says.

"Great. What is it?" Adam asks.

"We're working on the power of love." Dean remarks.

"How's that going?" Adam asks.

"Not great." Dean smiles.

"Look, Adam... you don't know me from a hole in the wall, I know. But I'm begging you. Please, just trust me. Give me some time." Sam says.

"Give me one good reason." Adam says.

"Because we're blood." Sam says.

"You've got no right to say that to me." Adam says.

"You're still John's boy." Bobby says.

"No, John Winchester was some guy who took me to a baseball game once a year. I don't have a dad. So, we may be blood, but we are not family. My mom is my family. And if I do my job, I get to see her again. So, no offense, but she's the one I give a rat's ass about, not you."

"Fair enough. But if you have one good memory of dad, just one, then you'll give us a little more time. Please." Sam says.

+++

"Where's Cas?" Bobby asks.

"Blown to Oz." Sam says. "Look, we'll get Dean. He couldn't have gone too far. Just watch Adam."

"How? You may have noticed, he's got a slight height advantage." Bobby says.

"Then cuff him to your chair. I don't know. Just watch him." Sam snaps before he, Jacob, and Natalie leave.

+++

"Bobby, what do you mean Adam is gone?" Sam asks.

"Should I say it in Spanish?" Bobby asks.

"He's gone how? What the hell, guys?!" Sam yells.

"Hey, I was watching your child and niece." Larissa defends.

"Watch your tone, boy. He was right in front of me, and he disappeared into thin air." Bobby says.

"Because the angels took him." They look at Cas who is holding a beaten and bloodied Dean up.

"What the hell happened to him?" Sam asks.

"Me." Cas answers, dropping Dean onto the cot.

"What do you mean, the angels took Adam? You branded his ribs, didn't you?" Bobby asks.

"Yes. Adam must have tipped them." Cas says.

"How?" Bobby asks.

"I don't know. Maybe in a dream." Cas says.

"Well, where would they have taken him?" Sam asks.

+++

"Where the hell are we?" Dean asks.

"Van Nuys, California." Cas states.

"Where's the beautiful room?" Dean asks.

"In there." Cas nods to the building.

"The beautiful room is in an abandoned muffler factory in Van Nuys, California?" Dean asks.

"Where'd you think it was?" Cas asks.

"I-I don't know. Jupiter? A blade of grass? Not Van Nuys." Dean says.

"Tell me again why you don't just grab Adam and shazam the hell out of there." Sam says.

"Because there are at least five angels in there." Cas says.

"So? You're fast." Dean says.

"They're faster." Cas says. He takes his tie off, wrapping it around his hand. "I'll clear them out, you three grab the boy. This is our only chance." He tells the brothers and Larissa. Jacob stayed back with Natalie and the girls.

"Whoa, wait. You're gonna take on five angels?" Dean asks.

"Yes." Cas nods.

"Isn't that suicide?" Dean asks.

"Maybe it is. But then I won't have to watch you fail. I'm sorry, Dean. I don't have the same faith in you that Sam does." Cas says. Cas pulls a box cutter out of his pocket.

"What the hell are you gonna do with that?" Sam asks.

~ ~ ~

The three go into the warehouse and Dean goes into the beautiful room. Adam is lying on the floor on the other side of the room and Dean rushes to his side.

"Adam, hey. Hey." Dean says.

"You came for me." Adam says.

"Yeah, well, you're family." Dean says.

"Dean, it's a trap." Adam says as Dean helps him up.

"I figured." Dean says.

"Dean, please." Zachariah appears. "Did you really think it would be that easy?"

"Did you?" Dean asks.

Sam comes up behind the angel with an angel blade, but before he can hit him, Zachariah turns to him and knocks his arm down. Zachariah sends Sam flying across the room and he crashes the wall, falling to the floor.

"Sam!" Dean calls.

Larissa sneaks up behind Zachariah and tries to stab him, but Zachariah holds his hand out, and she goes flying into the side of the room.

"You know what I've learned from this experience, Dean? Patience." Zachariah waves his hand and Adam falls to the floor, coughing blood up.

"Adam?" Dean calls. "Let him go, you son of a bitch." He growls at Zachariah.

"I mean, I thought I was downsized for sure. And for us, a firing... pretty damn literal. But I should have trusted the boss man. It's all playing out like he said. You, me, your hemorrhaging brothers. Well, with the exception of your sister not being here. But there is the small addition of your hemorrhaging not so future sister-in-law, which kind of makes up for it."

Sam and Larissa start to cough blood up, groaning in pain.

"You're finally ready, right?" Zachariah asks. "You know there's no other choice. There's never been a choice."

"Stop it. Stop it right now!" Dean orders.

"In exchange for what?" Zachariah asks.

"Damn it, Zachariah. Stop it, please. I'll do it." Dean says.

"I'm sorry. What was that?" Zachariah asks.

"Okay, yes. The answer is yes." Dean states.

"Dean!" Sam quietly calls.

"Do you hear me? Call Michael down, you bastard!"

"How do I know you're not lying?" Zachariah asks.

"Do I look like I'm lying?" Dean asks.

Zachariah turns away from him and says something in Enochian. Sam looks at Dean questioningly, and Dean winks at him, which only makes Sam more confused.

"He's coming." Zachariah states.

"Of course, I have a few conditions." Dean says as the room starts to shake.

"What?" Zachariah asks, turning to him.

Larissa weakly army crawls across the room until she reaches Sam.

"The few people whose safety you have to guarantee before I say yes." Dean says.

"Sure, fine. Make a list."

"But most of all... Michael can't have my until he disintegrates you."

"What did you say?"

"I said... before Michael gets one piece of this sweet ass... he has to turn you into a piece of charcoal."

Larissa finally gets to Sam and lays down next to him, quietly groaning in pain.

"You really think Michael's gonna go for that?" Zachariah asks.

"Who's more important to him now? You... or me?" Dean asks.

"You listen to me. You are nothing but a maggot inside a worm's ass. Do you know who I am? After I deliver you to Michael?"

"Expendable."

"Michael's not gonna kill me."

"Maybe not. But I am."

Dean stabs an angel blade in Zachariah's head through his chin. A white light shines as he dies and Dean falls to the floor. A bright light and loud ringing noise start as the room shakes more.

"Can you walk?" Dean asks, helping Adam up.

"Yeah." He answers.

"Okay, come on." Dean rushes to the other two. Dean helps Larissa up before getting Sam up, supporting his brother. "Go, go, go." Dean puts his hand on Larissa's back, urging her to the door.

Larissa walks as quickly as she can, opening the door and rushing out.

"Come on, move it!" Dean calls to Adam as he leads Sam out. After the two of them get out, the door slams shut, locking Adam inside.

"No! Dean! Help! It won't open!" Adam calls.

Getting a safe distance away, Larissa falls onto the ground, breathing heavily. Dean lowers Sam next to her before racing back to the door. He touches the doorknob, retracting his hand immediately as it burns.

"Dean, help! Dean!" Adam shouts.

"Hold on! We'll get you out. Just hold on! Adam! Can you hear me?" Dean calls out. The light fades and Dean touches the doorknob, it not burning. He opens the door, but only finds an abandoned office. "Adam?"

+++

Larissa is lying down in the backseat of the Impala and her eyes are shut as she tries to fall asleep, the pain from earlier making her tired.

"You think Adam's okay?" Sam asks.

"Doubt it. Cas either. But we'll get 'em." Dean says.

"So." Sam says.

""So" what?" Dean asks.

"I saw your eyes. You were totally rockin' the "yes" back there. So, what changed your mind?" Sam asks.

"Honestly? The damnedest thing. I mean, the world's ending, the walls are coming down on us, and I look over to you and all I can think about is, "this stupid son of a bitch brought me here." I just didn't want to let you down."

"You didn't. You almost did. But you didn't."

"I owe you an apology."

"No, man. No, you don't."

"Just... let me say this. I don't know if it's being a big brother or what, but to me, you've always been this snot-nosed kid that I've had to keep on the straight and narrow. You and Natty. I think we both know that that's not you anymore. Neither is Nat. I mean, hell, if you're grown up enough to find faith in me... the least I can do is return the favor. So screw destiny, right in the face. I say we take the fight to them, and do it our way."

"Sounds good."

After a few minutes, Sam looks back and sees Larissa asleep. He smiles a little, just happy she looks so peaceful and not worried or hurt. Sam notices her shiver a little and he frowns.

Sam sheds his jacket and reaches back, carefully draping it over Larissa, making sure it won't fall off of her.

"Aww... you're adorable." Dean grins.

"Shut up, Dean." Sam grumbles.

"It's cute." Dean chuckles.

"Dude." Sam rolls his eyes.

"Hey, you don't wanna be teased, don't do anything that's worth teasing." Dean says. "Seriously, though, just get together. I mean, you've already made out, what? Twice?"

"It's complicated." Sam says.

"No, it isn't. You say "I like you". She says "I like you, too." Bada bing bada boom. You're a couple." Dean says.

"Dean." Sam rolls his eyes.

"Hey, if Nat and Jacob can get engaged and have kids, I think you two can man up and take another step in this relationship."

"Just-- just shut up." Sam says.

"Well, hey, you don't like me lying. I ain't lying."

"Dean..."

"All right, all right, I'm done."

"Thank you."

"For now."
