"I really don't wanna do that" I tried explaining
"Y/n it'll be fun" Tommy said
"I hate the woods, I hate being outside for too long, and it's starting to get colder. So camping really doesn't sound like fun"
"Pleaseee for me" Dutch pleaded
"Y/n come on, he never wants to plan anything" Bobby explained
"Ughh I just want to sleep, let me sleep" I groaned
After Johnny and I's date, I planned on spending the night at his place. Unfortunately for us we opened the door to the guys chatting up Laura. It seems like it's their new routine to be waiting for us at whoever's house after our dates. They've been explaining this last minute plan that they came up with for Dutch's birthday. He wants all of us to go to this campground and spend the rest of the weekend up there.
"Would you guys quit pestering her?" Johnny said as he followed behind me up the stairs
"But—"
"Nice bear y/n/n. Your building a little collection" Jimmy pointed out
"Yeah I am but this one's for Johnny"
"Purple with pink polka dot bows, yup looks like one he'd like" Tommy joked
"I won it for him!" I smiled
"And you did a great job picking out one that captures his personality" Dutch added
"They don't have that many options for guys when it comes to teddy bears"
"So you couldn't even get a red one or a brown one?" Bobby asked
"There weren't any"
"Hey stop dissing the bear, at least I won him something"
"Exactly, I don't see any of your girlfriends getting you guys stuff"
"What game did you play to win that?"
"The one where you shoot water into the clowns mouth"
"Oh.."
"So not a real game then"
"You see this is why I'm going to bed" I huffed
"No no we'll stop"
"It's too late. I'm too tired for you guy's craziness tonight" I made my way to johnny's room, he came in, shutting the door behind us
"So are you really not coming with us tomorrow?"
"We'll see. And Aniyah? She's going too right?"
"I don't know. I know as much as you do"
"You need to help them plan"
"We can't plan for shit you know that"
"Trust me I know that. Can I borrow a sweatshirt?"
"Oh your actually asking me this time"
"Yes, I figured I'd ask this since you've been such a gentleman tonight"
"Aren't I a gentleman every night?"
"Not by a long shot blondie." I told him. "In fact you were trying to do some very un-gentlemen like things on the Ferris wheel earlier"
"Yeah and you said maybe next time, so you're no saint"
"Oh I never claimed to be innocent" I said, taking off the top I was wearing and tossing it at him. I walked to his closet and grabbed a hoodie
"What are you doing?"
"Changing, why?"
"We have post date activities to do, if you catch my drift"
"With our friends downstairs? Not a chance"
"Why do they always show up after our dates" he questioned
"I don't know, it's like their super power. I'm starting to think they love you more than I do"
"That's impossible...right?" He asked, staring at me, I gave him a look and finished putting on my pajamas. "Right?"
I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, which he caught. "Why'd you catch it" I pouted
"You didn't answer my question"
"That's because you already know the answer"
"It's you right? You love me more"
"Obviously unless you're cheating on me with one of them"
"Yeah, that would never happen. Hell would have to freeze over"
"Oh don't be so dramatic. If you had to pick, which one would it be?"
"None" he said quickly
"It's Bobby isn't it?"
"No"
"So Tommy or Dutch then?"
"No neither of them"
"So Jimmy?! I hate to break it to you baby but Jimmy is kinda out of your league"
"What??"
"I'm surprised"
"I wouldn't pick any of them but what do you mean Jimmy is out of my league. If I wanted a Jimmy, I would have one"
"It sounds to me like you want a Jimmy" I shrugged as I sat on the bed "Look all I meant was that Jimmy is such a nice boy and he'd be like the perfect boyfriend for you and you don't need that"
"What if I want that"
"Do you want that?" I asked trying to hold in my laugh
"No"
"Are you sure?"
"I'm very sure, you just confused me, and this conversation is just weird. You don't see me asking you which one of the girls you'd date"
"Probably Susan or Aniyah"
"Wow, answer a little faster next time" he said sarcastically
"You asked!"
"No I didn't"
"Oh"
"Doesnt Aniyah date girls though"
"Yeah and?"
" I thought a few month ago when I asked if you liked her you said no"
"That's because I don't but if I had to date one of my friends it'd be between her and Susan. But I'll just say Susan, I guess. Better?"
"Much"
"But why it's the same thing"
"No it's not, Aniyah said before that she thought you were cute and she'd probably date you, Susan is dating Bobby"
"And Aniyah is dating Dutch, what's the big deal"
"There's no big deal at all, except that you wanna date all your friends" he shouted the last part jokingly
"Ohh cut me some slack, you're in love with Jimmy" I said, matching his volume. "Now are you gonna lay with me or not?"
He climbed onto the bed but didn't put any covers on, just sat beside me against the headboard. "You're actually going to bed?"
"I was going to, I'm tired"
"It's barely 11"
I turned to my side to face him. "Does that mean you're staying up?"
"For a little bit"
"Guys?" Someone said knocking on the door
"Come in" Johnny said
"Sorry to interrupt up but Y/n were you guys calling me?" Jimmy asked stepping into the room
"Yes" "No" me and Johnny stated simultaneously. "No, jimmy we didn't"
"Yes we did Jimmy don't let him lie to you, he has a confession to make"
"Oh, what is it Johnny?"
"Nothing"
"Ok, well you're mom is cleaning the living room so we're gonna be in the backyard" Jimmy said closing the door as he left.
"Alright I'll be down in a minute" he said
"Don't stay up too late, I wanna lay with you"
"I'll be back up in a few maybe like fifteen minutes"
"Ok" I said.
"Night" He kissed me briefly.
"Good Night"
In the morning I woke up with Johnny hogging all the covers from me and basically hanging off the edge of the bed. I slowly and quietly got out of the bed and started getting dressed for the day. I put on my brown pants, my graphic tee crop top, my red and black sneakers, and my cobra Kai bomber jacket.
"Sunshine where you going"
"I have errands to run"
"Like what?"
"Don't worry about it, I'll be back in a few hours"
"I'll come with you" he said groggily but ended up just pulling the comforter over his head
"It's ok, go back to sleep. I'll call you later" I grabbed my bag and my keys
"Wait"
"What's wrong?"
"You have to kiss me before you go"
I felt a smile forming on my face. I hurried over to him and took the covers off his face. I placed a quick kiss on his lips and lightly pushed his hair back. "See you in a bit"
"See you" he said, but it was muffled by him turning into his pillow
I grabbed my stuff and swiftly went down the steps carefully, so I wouldn't wake up any of the boys.
"What time is it?" One of them asked. As I got closer I saw that it was Dutch rubbing his eyes and starting to sit up
"It's 5am now go back to sleep"
"Ok mommy"
I looked at him confused and noticed that he had already just closed his eyes and went back to bed. "Weirdo" I said under my breath.
In reality it was way past 5 am, it was almost 10. Last night while the guys were down here doing whatever it is they were doing, I was on the phone with girls coming up with an actual plan for this weekend. I didn't want any of them helping, well attempting to help, because they would just get in the way. No offense to them.
I got in my car and drove to Aniyah's house and waited for her to come out. After a couple minutes of waiting she finally came out. "Hey sorry it took me a little bit"
"No worries"
"So to the store first?"
"Yeah, we'll probably get most things from there"
We drove to the nearest supermarket. We walked through the aisles getting food that we'd be able to make outdoors, bug spray, matches, snacks, and a bunch of other things
"You mean to tell me they didn't think of getting any of this"
"They probably thought to get one thing"
"Booze" she said
"Exactly. When I tell you they're unprepared I mean it. I'm sure they have their own camping stuff, but I guarantee they'll forget something"
"So me and you are staying the whole weekend, and the girls are only staying for tonight right?"
"Yeah, unless they change their mind"
"Where's sleeping bags and tents?"
"Uhh I have no clue." We pushed the cart all around the store until we made sure we got all the things on our list. "Ok so last night me and Johnny were fooling around and—"
"—are you about to tell me some weird sex thing in the middle of the store"
"No no no. Sorry, bad choice of words. We were joking around and I asked him which one the guys he'd date"
"He said Tommy didn't he"
"No actually"
"Really?! You can't convince me that those two aren't crushing on each other"
"Umm.."
"He loves you though! But you know that already" she said quickly, backtracking on what she said
"Anyways I told him that if I had to choose between my friends I'd pick you or Susan"
"Aww you said me?! That's sweet"
"Of course" I smiled
"For me it'd probably be you or Ali"
"You see how we can just discuss and nothing's weird. When I was talking with a Johnny he kinda freaked, he partially joking but I think he thought that meant I wanted to date you two like for real"
"That's because he's a guy. They have a hard enough time telling a girl they actually like them let alone saying it or saying they care to one of their friends"
"Guys are so weird"
"True that"
"Ok next on our list of things to do"
"Gather the girls"
Johnny's POV
"Why isn't she back yet?"
"She's busy" I told them
"Busy with what?" Bobby asked
"I don't know, she said she had a few errands"
"Yeah but she's been go for a while" Tommy pointed out
"Ok so then she had more than a few" I shrugged
"Do we have enough food for the weekend?" Jimmy asked
"We'll just grab something on the way" Dutch told him "Is y/n coming with us?"
"I'm pretty sure"
"She said she didn't want to last night" Bobby said
"Even if she's not coming, I need y/n to hurry up and get back here so she can help me"
"Help you with what?" I asked
"I forgot to tell her last night to invite the girls"
"So just invite them yourself"
"Invite them yourself" he mocked. "I'll be right back"
"How long do you think it takes to get to the campground" Jimmy questioned
"I don't know probably like 20 minutes, it's not that far" Bobby told him
"Bet I could get there in 15" Jimmy challenged
"It's not a race" I told him "And even if it was I'd get there in 12"
"Yeah right, you can't just shave 8 minutes of your time, you got to take distance into account" Bobby explained. "You need a shortcut"
"The location is on Nordhoff street isn't that near that construction site" Tommy asked him
"Yeah why?"
"I know a shortcut"
"No you don't"
"Fine, keep doubting me, but you'll see when I get there first." He said "And did you take my stash?"
"No, I didn't take yours. Did you put it in your bag already"
"No"
"Check your shit again"
"We're all gonna take our bikes right?" I asked just to make sure
"Obviously"
"Keep up Johnny"
"Oh shut the hell up" I shoved him over. "Is Dutch still on the phone?"
Dutch came rushing back into the living room. "They didn't answer"
"All of them?"
"All. Of. Them"
"Maybe they knew it was you and didn't answer on purpose"
"Don't be stupid Johnny, it's not like my name pops up" he rolled his eyes. "Did y/n say she was gonna be with the girls?"
"I already told you what she told me"
"Maybe you guys should try calling them" he suggested
"If they didn't answer, that means they're not there. At least I know that's true for Lily. Lily answers after the second ring unless she's not home." Jimmy said
"Yeah and when y/n says she'll call later she does, so let's just wait for her"
"Yeah let's just finish packing" Bobby added
"What about Debbie or Susan" Dutch asked ignoring us
"Debbie normally calls me first. In fact she calls a lot."
"About what?"
"Anything. It's like random things will pop up into her head and she'll just call"
"What happens if you don't answer"
"Then she leaves a long long voicemail"
"That's...nice"
"Yeah it's annoying as hell but it's sweet and it's fun to listen to when I'm bored"
"Johnny, what are you looking for?"
"Where the fuck did my sleeping bag go?"
"Isn't already in your bag" Bobby said, pointing to my backpack in the corner
"Oh" I grabbed the bag and huffed. Maybe we do need y/n's help
Just then I heard honking coming from outside. I hurried to the front door and opened to Y/n and the other girls outside.
Back to Y/N's POV
"Who's ready to go camping?!" I yelled with a smile, stepping out of my car with Aniyah.
"You didn't call" Johnny said as he walked up to me
"I didn't get to because Lily was trying to call Jimmy but I guess the line was busy" I said as Debbie's car pulled into the driveway. "I had to get everything together for you guy's plan. What, you didn't think I'd let y'all plan this on your own did you?"
"We would've managed"
"Really" I asked and I could tell by his face that he really thought they would take care of everything. "Where's everyone's gonna sleep?"
"In a sleeping bag, which is in my backpack"
"And what about me?"
"You would've been in mine"
"You do realize that you're a giant, right? There's barely enough room in my bed for both of us" I told him. I saw the guys making their way outside too
"Mama are you coming camping?"
"Like I would miss doing something for your birthday"
"And you bought the girls?! You're best!" He ran towards, picked me up and spun me around
"Alright you're welcome, now put me down" I laughed, when my feet touched the ground I fixed my hair. "Tommy come here"
"What?" He asked. I opened the trunk to my car. "Are you planning on killing me?"
"What? No never then I'd have to replace my man of honor"
"Are you still calling me that??"
"Duh, I have to, that's your title. Anyway you got beer right?"
"Of course I did, I got other stuff too"
"Good because I got a cooler, because I don't about everyone else but I don't anymore warm beer"
"What and you're too good for warm beer?"
"Yes Tommy, yes I am, so just put them in the cooler." I told him.
"Me and Y/n are staying the whole weekend" Aniyah said to Dutch
"Yeah and Lily, Debbie, and I are just staying for tonight and leaving in the morning" Susan explained
"Yeah what they said. So are we set?"
"Yeah we gotta get our bags"
"Ok, everyone can put their stuff in either me or Lily's car"
"Speaking of cars, ours are staying here, we're taking our bikes instead"
"Why I am even surprised"
"We'll meet you guys there, just follow behind us" he said before leaning in to kiss me. I took in his appearance, taking every detail
"You look good today." I said before his lips reached mine
"Yeah?" He asked as his forehead touched mine
"Yeah, like really, really good today. I mean not that you're not always this handsome but today you just have a little extra...I don't know what word I'm looking but" I was cut off by him pressing his lips firmly against mine
"So is really, really, really good, enough to stay behind a few minutes and go to the room or no"
"You're a mess" I giggled and kissed him again. "And you added an extra really. You guys be careful"
"We'll be fine. We're practically pros"
"Well pro or not, I need you getting there in one piece"
"You be careful too, it's pretty much a straight drive but stay close"
"Will do"
"Are you guys done yet?" Dutch asked
"Yeah make googly eyes at each other once we get to the place" Susan laughed
"Oh hush, get on your death machines and drive. Who's driving with me?"
"I will" Debbie said eagerly
"Debbie you have to drive your car"
"Oh right, sorry nevermind"
"I'll go with you" Susan said, getting in the passenger seat. I would take more people if they wanted if my backseat wasn't filled with all of our stuff. We followed behind the guys. For the most part the ride was fine, but then the guys thought it'd be a good idea to start speeding. I even think we lost one of them some way back.
"What are they doing?" Susan asked, taking off her sunglasses
"Being idiots"
"Didn't they tell us to follow them? Why would they speed off?"
"I don't know" I said. I was listening to her but I was just trying to keep my eye on at least one of them so I could figure out where we were going. I had caught up to them. One of them, which I think was Johnny, finally started going slower so we could follow.
But then they slammed on their brakes, which caused me to slam on mine. Luckily, Debbie was a far enough distance from me that she didn't have to slam on hers.
"Holy shit"
"Are you alright" I asked her
"Yeah I'm fine are you"
"I'm gonna kill them"
"I'll help you dig the graves"
We pulled into the parking lot of the campground. I immediately put the car in park and took my keys out. I got out of the car and rushed over to the guys, who were all standing around their bikes laughing. "What the hell is wrong with you guys"
"It was just a joke" Johnny laughed
"Yeah well it wasn't funny, what if I would've hit you or something and you went flying"
"But you didn't so it's alright, see no one's hurt" he said doing a little spin to show me he was fine. "I'm still really, really, good, right?"
"No"
"Why not? I'm not hurt"
"Not yet" I pushed him in his stomach but it didn't do much.
"You're not mad are you?" He asked but I didn't answer, I just stared at him. "You really are mad at me?" he frowned
"I'm not mad at you, you just scared me" I told him honestly.
He pulled me into a hug. "I scared you that bad?"
"Clearly. I care about you asshole". We broke away from the hug and started unloading things with the others.
"So where are we setting up camp?" Aniyah asked
"Way up there" Bobby pointed
"We have to walk all the way up there?"
"Yeah"
"Ok, so where's the carts to put all our stuff in and push it up the hill"
"There aren't any"
"This is why you don't bring that much stuff with you. You put everything you need in the backpack and just go up"
"There's ten of us I'm sure we'll survive bringing the stuff up the hill"
"Exactly, everyone just grab armfuls of things"
"Oh and by the way everyone, I would just like to point out that I got here first" tommy said as we started up the hill
"Yeah by like 10 seconds, your shortcut didn't do anything"
"Did I or did I not get here first though, and under 12 minutes"
"Whatever man"
Once we made it up the hill the guys were setting up the tents and the rest of the camp gear while me and the girls were listening to music on my radio and deciding what snacks we should open first.
"You girls can help you know"
"We know" we all said
"They're so clueless" Lily laughed quietly. They were all working together to put up the last tent but what they didn't notice was the missing rod they were looking for was over here with the food.
"Pass it to me" I asked, holding my hand out. Susan tossed it to me and I stuffed it into the sleeve of my jacket. "Be right back"
"What are you about to do?"
"Make them look stupid, because I could get it set up and they couldn't" I told the girls.
"Ooo me too" Susan said standing from the benches.
"Here let us try" I said as we walked over to them. "Now what do I have to do again? Put one of these things into this"
"Pretty much"
"Ok" I stared at it for a moment, picking up parts that wouldn't be helpful, when they were distracted, I took the rod out of my jacket and put it into the slip of the tent. Susan started giggling quietly once it easily connected with another piece and the tent was now standing perfectly. "Did we do it?"
"How did you-" Bobby started
"-fix it? Easy, We're just better at camping then you guys are" Susan smirked
"Now can we do something fun"
"Ok so everyone knows the rules right?"
We had decided to play kickball. Well, Dutch actually wanted to play dodgeball and Bobby suggested soccer, so now we ended up on kickball. Dutch was one of the team captains since it was his birthday. Johnny was picked to be the other team captain.
"Y/n you know how to play right?" Johnny asked me
"And are you any good?" Dutch questioned
"How bout boys vs. girls" I suggested
"Yess, you guys are so going down" Tommy laughed
"I call captain of the boys team" Dutch called out
"You can't just call captain" Bobby scoffed
"Yes I can, my team let's do batting first"
"Which one of you wants to be captain for our team?" I asked and Lily slowly raised her hand. "Ok so who's our catcher and pitcher"
"What does the pitcher do again?" Lily asked
"They just roll it, team captain" I informed her
"I'll do it" Susan volunteered
"Ok and catcher?"
"I can't catch"
"And what if it hits me" Aniyah cringed
"I'll just be the catcher then" I said
"That means me, Aniyah, and Debbie are out?"
"If by out you mean outfield then yes" Debbie clarified
"Just get the ball and get it back to me, or if you feel like you got it then you can throw it at them when they're close to a base. Does that make sense" I explained
"Yup" Aniyah nodded
"Ok! Go team on 3" Susan said
"Are we counting down from 3 like 3, 2, 1 or 1,2,3" Debbie asked
"Go team!" Lily said excitedly
We were off to a bad start. Like a really bad start they already had 2 runs, but team morale and energy was still up. Johnny was up to kick next. Susan did her normal routine of asking them if they were ready before she rolled the ball to them.
"Just one sec" Johnny said, and before I knew it he was shirtless. And man was he stunning. The sun just seemed to hit in all the right places. I could see how defined his muscles are. I could his v-line that trailed all the way down but was cut off by his jeans.
"Y/n!!" Susan shook me
"Huh?"
"Stay focus, alright"
"Yeah Don't let him distract you" Debbie told me
"We know you can't resist him, but you have to fight the temptation" Aniyah yelled from her spot
"It's just abs, just ignore it" Lily encouraged
"I got this, I'm good" I am most certainly not good. I wanna forget about this game and go have a game of our own in our tent. But I really hate losing and I wanna turn this around for the girls team.
"She's bluffing" Dutch yelled out
"Am not, let's do this" I said flipping him off
"Susan, I'm ready" he said, eyeing me the whole time. Susan smoothly rolled the ball to Johnny, he kicked it high but not too far out so I didn't need to worry about running, just making sure to catch it. I caught the ball and chucked it at Tommy who was leaving third base and it hit his arm. We all started cheering
"Why are you girls cheering"
"Because we got a point, or a run, whatever it's called"
"Uh no you didn't"
"Yes we did, Tommy got out" Debbie said loudly
"Not Uh"
"Yes you did, I hit your arm" I said
"If you hit my arm then how was I able to run home"
"You cheated"
"No I didn't"
"Yes you did, you know you guys are a bunch of cheaters, and use cheap tricks"
"Do you guys give up" Johnny asked us
"not a chance"
"Let's switch" Bobby suggested
"Team captain, call a huddle" I said to Lily
"Girls let's huddle up"
"Ok so since we're batting, I have a plan of how we can catch up. We're only down by 3 so we can do this. When it's our time to kick, kick it lightly. Enough that it's not a foul by being too close but lightly enough that it stops before it gets to jimmy"
"Is he the catcher"
"Yeah"
"So all of us kick lightly, that'll make him run from his spot and give us a chance to run to a base. All of us do that except Debbie. You're a good kicker so you kick it normally, make them work to get the ball and keep on on their toes."
"Got it"
"Aniyah, you're extremely fast so once you do your kick if you feel like you can, go straight to third. Don't worry about stopping."
"Ok"
"Everyone good?l
"Yes ma'am"
"Lily and Susan we're just making the guys do a bunch of work essential"
"Sounds accurate for us"
"It really does"
"I'll kick first to demonstrate" I volunteered. Bobby rolled the ball and I kicked it as lightly as I could towards the left of Jimmy. It stopped a few inches away from him so I started running as fast as I could and got to second.
The plan was working pretty well. It was Debbie's turn to kick and I was on third, Susan was on second, and Aniyah was on first. Johnny was guarding my base pretty carefully.
"You guys ready to lose?"
"Shhh i'm trying to concentrate"
"Oh am I distracting you"
"Put your shirt on, for your modesty"
Debbie quickly kicked the ball far, Jimmy and Johnny ran out to go catch it but that was enough time for both me and Susan to get to home. Aniyah ran as fast as she could and made it to third.
Debbie just jogged to first base. Johnny got to the ball first and threw, Dutch and Tommy both ran to catch it. Tommy caught it but since Dutch wasn't paying attention he bumped into Tommy and ended up dropping it. That Aniyah and Debbie more time to keep running
"Run Aniyah! Run!" Susan cheered. With us over at home we ended up tying the score.
It was getting darker out so we started making food and passing drinks around. It wasn't much just snacks, beer, and cold cuts, but it was better than the one can of beans Bobby brought with him.
"You guys are such sore losers" Lily laughed
"Jimmy you should join the baseball team"
"Yeah man you really should, you can really throw"
"Any sport is better than doing karate"
"WOAH" all the guys shouted
"you take that back right now" tommy demanded
"Karate is one of the best, it's a real man's sport unlike those fake sports like tennis"
"Hello? A man's sport?" I said
"You know what I mean, you're the exception, but be honest how many girls do you know that do karate"
"I guess that's true"
"Why don't you guys teach us" Aniyah asked
"You want to learn?" Bobby asked her
"Yeah why not it could be fun"
"I wanna see what all the fuss is about" Debbie said
"Ok fine let's start with something easy"
More drinks and a blunt made from Tommy's stash were being passed around. All the guys were teaching their girlfriends some moves.
"Johnny come do the flags" Dutch yelled
"I guess they're ready" I said. We made our way back to the group. I could tell everyone was probably a little more than tipsy and high by now except Lily who was completely sober. "Ok so the matches are Lily vs. Aniyah and Susan vs. Debbie"
"We're doing quick matches so first one to score 1 point wins"
"Now I want a nice clean fight. No cheap shots, hair pulling, titty chopping, or anything like that. Got it" Dutch said, explaining the rules
"Hey ref? What's titty chopping?" I asked holding in my laughter
"You know, like jabs to the chest"
"Got it"
"Ok girls ready"
The two started circling each other for a bit before Lily went for a kick, which Aniyah blocked correctly.
"I'm sorry did that hurt"
"No girly you're totally fine"
"There's no apologies in a fight you guys" Tommy told them
"I'm just being polite" Lily defended
Aniyah sent a light jab to the side of Lily's arm. "Point. Winner"
"Yay I did it!!" Aniyah cheered hugging Dutch
"My turn!" Debbie said excitedly
"Let's do this!!" Susan clapped her hands together
"Ok Debbie remember what I told you"
"Yeah go for her legs" Debbie said aloud
"alright next time don't say your plan in front of opponent"
Debbie kicked towards Susan's left leg but she moved out the way and was able to block. Susan quickly turned around and kicked the back of Debbie's leg. It wasn't enough to make her fall just to get the point.
"Good job!" Bobby said high five-ing Susan "This was actually fun"
"Yeah I like it"
"Who wants to go again?"
"I'll go" I said standing from my seat and going towards the girls
"Nevermind" Debbie said
"Yeah that's ok" Susan added
"What? Hey come on it'll be fun"
"Y/n you do this for real" Lily said to me
"Yeah you'd break one of our limbs in two seconds" Aniyah joked
"No I won't, I know how to play fight"
"It's ok, let's do something else." Johnny suggested, wrapping an arm around me
"But—"
"How about s'mores?" Bobby asked, rushing to the bag of snacks
We gathered around the campfire and we were making s'mores, while Tommy was trying to pop a bag of popcorn over the heat, without burning the bag. I was sitting in my lawn chair talking with Debbie. "Y/n you want another hit"
"Yeah lemme see it".
"Hey y/n?" Debbie asked from beside
"Yes?"
"What does it feel like?"
"What does what feel like?"
"The weed" she whispered. "I mean like afterwards, how do you feel"
"Ohh, it makes you feel relaxed and mellow, makes you giggly like everything is funny or sometimes it'll make you extra touchy" I explained to her. "Look at those two for example" I said, pointing at Dutch and Aniyah who were all over each other
"Get a tent"
"Oh that's rich coming you two" Aniyah laughed
"Yeah do we remind you two of all the times you guys are borderline doing it in front of everyone"
"No you don't have to remind us, because we don't do that" I denied
"Yes you guys do, like all the time"
"Name one time" Johnny said
"We could probably name ten"
"At the tournament" Jimmy said
"The New Years party" Dutch listed
"The tree in the beginning of the school year" Tommy added
"Oh my gosh the tree!! I almost forgot about that" Susan gasped
"Oh yeahh I heard about that one" Lily nodded
"What happened with a tree?"
"It was nothing" I responded quickly
"It was far from nothing" Dutch insisted
"Alright alright we get it" Johnny said
"It's ok, we all expect it now" Jimmy tried to say as nicely as possible
"It's endearing actually" Aniyah smiled
"Yeah it what makes you guys you guys" Susan explained
"That and y/n saying she's always right"
"Hey" I scoffed "I haven't said that in a long time"
"But you do say it all the time" Johnny joined in
"Like you say babe and badass 24/7"
"I do not"
"I'm afraid she got you there buddy"
"My girl is the hottest babe, most badass chick in the history of chicks" Dutch mocked
"I never said that"
"Johnny you said that last week when you guys were still on your break" Bobby told him
"Oh"
"I think it's sweets...we just need to work on different descriptions" I said
"So adjectives?" Tommy questioned
"See and only tommy can go from being a idiot to an academic scholar in five seconds"
"Excuse me for actually being good at English" Tommy defended
This started everyone taking turns to imitate someone in the group. It wasn't anything mean, everyone was playing around and pointing out things that were obvious. No one's feelings hurt because everything was just stupid and light hearted, and it was hilarious
...until it started to get a little too personal. Like Dutch mentioning something about Aniyah's panties.
"Guess who I am, oo all I wanna do is spend time with my friends less time with my amazing girlfriend Susan" she laughed but when she realized that no one else was really laughing. "What..come on it's funny"
"Then who am I, ohh Bobby I don't wanna hangout at your place, let's just hangout at my house again and again and again" Bobby said, mimicking Susan's voice
"Your house makes me feel weird"
"See, we only hangout at your house. You never wanna come over mine, or if my parents invite you to come with us somewhere you never want to go. Having a good bond with my family is important to me." Bobby explained
"Your family makes me uncomfortable. Your sisters hate me for no reason and your parents are constantly judging because they're holier than thou. So excuse me if I think being at my house is better only ever talking on the phone every couple of days for five minutes" Susan informed him
"Not every conversation has to be an hour long or have a deep meaning"
"But if we rarely talk then can never go into something deep or learning more about each other, it can be something stupid I just wanna talk, look at y/n and Johnny for example, she told me they once had an hour long discussion about orange juice" she exclaimed. Everyone's eyes shifted from her and Bobby to me and Johnny
"Orange juice with pulp is good and it gets too much hate. It means it's freshly squeezed, it's delicious" I explained
"No one wants chunks in their juice" Johnny argued
"It's little tiny pieces not chunks, just swallow it"
"See what I mean" Susan exclaimed, gesturing at Johnny and I
"You wanna talk about juice?"
"I wanna talk about anything! Just talk to me! We don't talk, we don't do anything"
"That's not true"
"Yes it is! It's like you don't even like me anymore."
"Maybe you two should talk in private?" Lily politely suggested
A little while had passed since Bobby and Susan went on a walk to talk amongst themselves. Everyone else was slowly sobering up, well at least enough to not talk crazily. Me and Johnny were in our tent setting up the sleeping bags.
"So did you have a change of heart about camping?"
"Uh I guess, I still don't like being outside for hours but I am having a lot more fun than I thought I would."
"Good, so the next time we go, you'll come with us?"
"Not a chance, I'm all camped out for a while" I said, then I heard something from outside the tent. "Did you hear that?"
"Yeah, it was probably just leaves"
"That didn't sound like leaves Johnny"
"Then go see what it was"
"Why don't you go check?"
"What if it's a bear?" Johnny asked
"So if there was a bear you'd want me to go look?" I huffed
"Y/n"
"The bear knows your name, that means you should go out there" he joked
"You're unbelievable" I opened the gap of the tent to get out and look. Luckily it was just Susan with Bobby trailing far behind her. "Oh hey" I smiled at her
"Hey, can we go talk, please?" She said quietly
"Of course" I said fully getting out of the tent
"Where you going?"
"I'll be right back blondie"
Me and Susan walked off a little bit and she explained what happened on her walk with Bobby.
"This is so frustrating"
"I get it"
"It was a mutual decision to take a break though, so at least that's something,but still it's just sad."
"Everything will work itself out and it'll be ok"
"Thanks y/n"
"You're welcome" I said as she pulled me in for a hug. I heard her sniffling a little bit before she let go of me.
"I know I shouldn't be so upset over this, I just can't help it"
"It's ok, you're allowed to be upset, but just keep your chin up and give it time. You guys can work through this, I know it. Plus Bobby is probably just as upset having the same conversation with Johnny."
"Do you think he's crying on the inside and just trying to look strong in front of everyone"
"Absolutely"
Johnny's POV
After Y/n walked off and left the opening unzipped, Bobby stood awkwardly by the tent. "Do you wanna come in and talk about?" I asked him
"Yeah" he said, crouching down and walking into the tent. He sat quietly on the opposite side of the tent.
"So that went well, huh?" I joked
"Yeah" he a laughed a little but then went back to being quiet
"Was she crying?"
"Yeah"
"Are you ok though?"
"Yeah" he nodded
"You're lying aren't you"
"Yeahh" he groaned and hid his face in his hands
A/N: Umm Heyy. I love how the last time I updated I said it was good to be back and then I didn't post again for five months. Oops. Anywayssss because of my long break I wrote an even longer chapter for you guys, which I hope you liked. I'm very excited for the upcoming chapters, the chapters are gonna be sorta kinda drama filled so just be prepared for that. I guess that's it for now.
