~Walking down the darkened streets was man dress in a white coat and black pants with vibrant orange hair that swooped over one eye and had on his signature hat. Behind him followed by four of his henchmen head down an alley from the shadows. They stopped for a moment for the leader to puff out smoke his cigar it while still keeping it in his mouth and grins before walking down the road. Frightening nearby citizens, they quickly moved out of the way of this strange group not wanting to cause them trouble. The group made their way towards the shop....From Dust Till Dawn.
~A couple blocks way walked a silent girl dressed in pink and pastels with wave like skirt that flowed behind her followed by her hair moving in the soft wind. She looked like she was walking out of the ocean with every step she took. Every once in awhile glancing down at the scrap paper with an address of a music store that quickly scribbled down. She turned her attention to the Walkman attached to her hip and turned it up and adjusted her headphones and carried on walking.
?: So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength.

The man and his henchmen soon enter the shop, unnoticed by a boy wearing a hooded red cloak in the corner of the shop, reading a weapons magazine.
?: But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul.
The henchmen look around and at the Dust crystals in the display when the man with the cigar approaches the elderly shopkeeper.
Roman: (lowering the cigar out of his mouth and letting out smoke) Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?
One of the henchman points his gun at the shopkeeper.
Shopkeeper: (raising his hands) P-please! Just take my Lien and leave!
Roman: Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, calm down, we're not here for your money. (Turned towards his henchmen) Grab the Dust.
One henchman opens a case and removes one of several cylinders, which the group uses to take Dust from the tube containers on the walls.
Henchman 1: (placing another open case on the display to the shopkeeper) Crystals. Burn. Uncut.
The shopkeeper proceeds to fill the case. As another henchman goes for another tube, he hears the muffled sounds of music. We went down the isles to see where it was coming from only to see a boy dressed in red with his back towards him. He walked towards him while pulling out his sword and pointed it at him.
Henchman 2: Alright kid, put your hands where I can see 'em...........
Henchmen 2:Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?
He speed walks to him and turns him around, the hood dropping to reveal a surprised "my scene"looking boy wearing headphones. He motions for him to lower them which the boy did.
Ruby: Huh Yes?
Henchman 2: I said, put your hands in the air, now!
Ruby: (looking side to side then back up at the guy)....Are....Are you...robbing me?
Henchman 2:Wha- Yes!
Ruby: Ooohhh...

Roman was leaning over the counter of the front desk waiting for his men to finish the heist when a "Hey!" and "Hyah!" are heard, followed by one of henchman flying past him. Roman calmly motions for another to handle Ruby.
Henchman 1: (raising his gun at him) Hey! Freeze!
Ruby:......

Cut to outside the shop, the henchman was kicked through the window completely shattering it into the streets. Ruby quickly followed him out there by jumping out of the window. He adjusted his stance on the side walk he brought out Crescent Rose, he looked over his shoulder thinking he would see the over men from the show, which he did. He was quickly caught off guard. Standing in front of the now broken window stood a very confused but beautiful looking girl who looked at him with shock. He froze up and blushes, Roman scowls looking between the two behind the shattered window. Ruby brushed off his nerves and decided to show off a little....not like he was trying to impress her or anything. He smiles back at them before twirling the weapon around, striking it into the ground and tuned off his music he was listening to. The girl in pink followed suit and took off her headphones and paused her cassette tape liking the idea of where this was going.
Roman: Okayyy... (to his remaining henchmen) Get him!
The henchmen head out of the shop and run at Ruby, who spins around on top of his scythe and kicks the first approaching criminal in the face. He gets Crescent Rose out of the ground and fires it off to hit another one with the butt of his weapon, sending him flying. He fires again and brings the side down on one attacker and dodges the next's gunfire with his rifle's speed, getting close enough to knock him into the air and kick his body to Roman's feet.
Unknown to him one of the henchmen got up and raised a gun to the back of his head. Ruby head click of the gun behind him before he could even turn around fully he caught a glance of a hook attaching its self to the henchmen's shirt. The henchmen gasped looking at his shoulder confused only to have the wind taken out him by a harsh pull back. Being pulled threw the air he land behind the same girl in pink. He looked up at her dumbfounded as she softly smiles back him.
Then raising her harpoon she brought back some of the rope which made him get dragged closer to her. Once he was closer to her she swung the harpoon with him swing in the air. Then like a fishing pole she casted out the line sending him forward and released the hook from his shirt and reeled back the line until it was back in its place. The henchmen flew right into a stop sign knocking him out cold. Ruby was fan girling at the sight of this with blush painted on his face and stars in his eyes, he couldn't help but let out a squeal. The squeal from Ruby made Roman pull his eyes off the girl to his disappointment.
Ruby: That was AMAZING!!!
Roman: You both were worth every cent. Truly, you guys were. (dropping his cigar and crushing it with his cane as approaching police sirens are heard) Well, Red and doll face I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around... (raises his cane and opens the bottom to reveal a rifle with a cross grid) ...I'm afraid this is where we part ways.
Roman unleashes a red blast at Ruby, who fires at the ground and leaps over it. When he lands and looks up, Roman isn't there, and is climbing up a ladder on a nearby building. The girl runs up to him and puts a hand on his shoulder seeing if he was ok. He looked up at her and reassured her.
Ruby: (to the onlooking shopkeeper) You okay if I go after him?
The shopkeeper gives a short "Uh huh", and Ruby tilted his head at the girl.
Ruby: You coming?
The girl quickly nodded her head and both ran to catch up with him. Both see him go up the side of a building. The girl grabbed Ruby and shot up her harpoon hooking it on the top building. And quickly reeled them upwards.
Roman makes it to the roof, with Ruby and the girl being shot threw the air and landing right behind him.
Ruby: Hey!
Roman: (stopping at the edge) Persistent...
Ruby got into a battle stance ready to fight him, but some kind of aircraft rises up behind him and opens the hatch to allow Roman inside.
Roman: (turning around and holding up a red Dust gem) End of the line, Red...isn't that unfortunate doll face? I'm afraid our time between us comes to an end...for now. (Smirking down at the girl waiting for some kind of response)
The girls face reddens at his comments and let's put an annoyed scoff. There's not much for her to saw.
Roman:Hmm nothing to say huh?
He throws a red tube of dust to their feet and fires at them resulting in a large explosion.
Roman: Whoa-ho-ho-ho! (stops laughing when he sees something on the roof) Huh?
A man in a purple cape is now in front of Ruby, casting a circle of protection over them with her wand. As Ruby looks on, he waves his weapon and summons several streaks of purple at the craft. Roman is thrown around in the back until he goes to the cockpit, where a man in red, is struggling with the controls.
Roman: We got a Huntsman!
The man gets up from the controls and heads toward the back as Roman takes over the controls.
The man below glows purple for a moment and aims another blast above the craft, resulting in a dark storm-cloud right over the jet.
Roman: The hell...?
With a flick of her wand, large jagged hail starts falling that pummels the jet and even breaks through the window, narrowly missing Roman's head.
The man reaches the back and his arms and chest light up like fire, aiming a burst of energy at the other man below. The Hunter blocks it, but the flame splatters behind him and glows hot with the enemy's raised hand. He back-flips out of the explosion, which destroys part of the roof, and magically gathers the shards to create a large arrow, which he throws at the craft. The fiery man shatters the arrow with several blasts, but it reforms just in time to hit the side of the jet due to Roman's quick aerial lean. The wreckage separates and reshapes into more arrows that encircle the jet, but the other man summons several glowing rings around himself that expand and destroy the shards.
Ruby, finally acting, reverts his scythe into its rifle form to fire at the man, which caused the girl to do the same changing her harpoon into gun and starts taking fire. The fiery man just blocks each shot and creates several blazing explosions around his two opponents. The other man telekinetically pushes Ruby and the girl and rolls himself out of the explosion's radius. All looked up to see the mysterious man above them. The man turned his attention to the girl on the ground both meeting eye contact. He took notice of her unique eyes. Although the man was casted in shadows the girl can clearly see the bottom half of his face the smirked down at her. Before he turned away he sent a wink at her and stepped back and let the hatch close and the craft flew away. They all watched as the ship blasted away. Ruby turned his attention to the older man before him.
Ruby: (looking at Glyn) You're a Huntsman! Can I have your autograph?!

Ruby and the girl was placed into a dark room with a singular light above them waiting for Glyn to come back. After a few awkward minutes Ruby decided to try to talk to her.
Ruby: H-heyyyy um...I- hehe, you know I never got your name....
The girl turns her full attention to him and softly smiled at him and gestured with her hands to him to go first
Ruby:(nervously smiles and rubs the back of his neck) Oh! hehe I never gave you my name as well! Im Ruby! Ruby Rose! And you are????
The girl smiles liking the sound of his name, she turns to the satchel next to her Walkman attached at her hip. Ruby stared at her with a confused smile not knowing what's she's doing. The girl pulled out a notebook and pencil and flipped through the pages. Landing on a blank page she began to write. Ruby not making any connections on the situation just started at her confused like I just asked for your name what are you doing....the girl turned the notebook around to face him and gestured him to look at it. Ruby looked down at it and saw what was written down
Ruby Rose is a beautiful name, mine is Y/n Elafonisi
Ruby:Y/n that's a beautiful name to....(widens eyes) wait.....so uh you....can't-
Ruby was caught off guard by Y/n looking down feeling ashamed and embarrassed, she shook her head no knowing what he was asking. Which sent Ruby into a panic.
Ruby: Ah! I'm sorry! Please don't feel back! It's ok! I just never met someone who couldn't speak before! Ah! No! I didn't mean to word it like that, what am I saying!-
Y/n placed her hand on him arm to calm him down.
Ruby:I'm sorry.....
Y/n gave him a reassuring smile telling him it's ok.
Ruby: Sooooo do you know sign language??
Y/n looked up at him with hopeful eyes and excitedly nodded her head, then pointed to him. So many thoughts was running through her head, omfg does he know it, I'm finally going to have someone to "talk to" now.
Ruby: I'm sorry I don't....Well hehe I only know the one that's not appropriate...my uncle taught me that one....
Y/n looked down feeling alone again. This is how it always will go....it's always the same...
Ruby: But you're my friend now so I'm going to learn it the best a can! I'll do my best! (sending her a closed eye smile)
Y/n pov
I looked at him with wide eyes...F-friend.....is he serious, it's been so long ever since-.....he's willing to do that for me...no...no he'll get bored and tired of it. They always do....I'm just a burden......
I tried to smile at him to show a appreciation for what he said....knowing it wouldn't last long...

Both teens were pulled out of their thoughts was Glyn opened the door and slammed it shut.
Glyn: I hope that you realize that both of your actions tonight will not be taken lightly. You put yourselves and others in great danger.
Ruby: They started it!
Glyn: If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... With a pat on the back... (Ruby smiles) ...And a slap on the wrist. (Glyn smacked his riding crop down infront of them, which Ruby barely avoids as he gives out an "Eeek!) But... there is someone here who would like to meet you.
He moves out of the way so a surprised Ruby and Y/n can see a man dressed in green come through the doorway, holding a mug and a plate of cookies.
Ozpin: Ruby Rose... (leans in to look at his face) You... have silver eyes.
Ruby: Uh, um...
Ozpin: (turned to the girl next to Ruby and gasped at the sight of her eyes. And whispers "by the gods") and Y/n Elafonisi...you have E/c with gold and purple rings around your pupils....
Y/n started up at him confused and turned to Ruby if he was understanding....he wasn't
Ozpin: So! Where did you learn to do this? (gesturing with his head at the tablet showing Ruby's fighting)
Ruby: S-Signal Academy.
Ozpin: They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?
Ruby: Well, one teacher in particular.
Ozpin: I see...Now...how about you?
Y/n quickly wrote down her answer. Once she was down she turned it to him to read.
I'm homeschooled, my dad is my teacher. He taught me out to fight and how to build my own weapon.
Ozpin:(shocked) homeschooling taught you that? Hmm...
He puts the cookies on the table in front of Ruby and Y/n. Ruby slowly picks one up, eats it in a single bite, and then, not seeing any rebuttal, shovels the rest into her mouth. Y/n quickly grabbed one before he finishes the plate.
Ozpin: You know, I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow...
Ruby: (mumbles through his full mouth) Oh! That's my uncle! (He then swallows and wipes his mouth, embarrassed) Sorry. That's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now, I'm all like— Hooowaaah! Witchaaaa! (proceeds to make some karate-style poses and noises)
Ozpin: So I've noticed. (placing his cup on the table as he leans in, then sits down opposite of the two) And what is a little girl yourself doing with a weapon like that?
This is what I was born for, why I am here. I'm going to be a huntress.
Ruby look at what she was written, she was straight to the point and made her answer simple.
Ozpin look over to Ruby
Ruby: Well... I want to be a Huntsmen too.
Ozpin: You both want to slay monsters?
Ruby: Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! (talking faster and faster with her enthusiasm growing) You see, my brother's starting there this year, and he's trying to become a Hunter, and I'm trying to become a Hunter 'cause I wanna help people. My mom always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it! (giggles) I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know! (flips out at the last part, staring at the two with a wide, crazy smile)
Y/n couldn't help but giggle at his enthusiasm.
Glyn and Ozpin study them both.
Ozpin: Do you know who I am?
Y/n nodded her head.
Ruby: You're Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon.
Ozpin: (smiling) Hello.
Ruby: Nice to meet you.
Y/n smiled and nodded her head to him which Ozpin did the same.
Ozpin: So you want to come to my school?
Ruby: More than anything.
Y/n grasped her hands together eagerly nodding her head faster.
Ozpin: (exchanging glances with Glyn, who just shows his disapproval with a "Hmmph" before he turns back to Ruby and Y/n) Well, okay.
Ruby smiles, wide-eyed and open-mouthed. And quickly wrapped his arms around Y/n pulling her to his chest making both of them blush.
~~~Few weeks later~~~
Yang Xiao Long tackles his brother in a hug aboard the large Vale Airship to Beacon, crushing the air out of him with Yang's muscular arms.
Yang: Oh, I can't believe my baby brother is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!
Ruby: (gasping) Please stop.(looking around for someone)
Yang: (releasing Ruby) But I'm so proud of you!
Ruby: Really bro, it was nothing. (Turning away from him looking into the crowd of people)
Yang: (noticing his brother is distracted) What do you mean?! It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees.
Ruby: I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal boy with normal knees.
Yang: (rolled his eyes) What's with you? Aren't you excited?
Ruby: Of course I'm excited... I just... (sighing) I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything.
Yang: (going over and giving his brother a one-armed hug) But you are spec- Wow she's hot
Ruby looked to where is brother was looking to the girl he was looking for.
Ruby: Y/n....(walked out of his brothers arms)
Yang raised a brow at his brother's actions...was he seriously about to approach a girl, did he know her, how come he never got to meet her! Yang later followed his brother.
Ruby got behind the girl and tapped her shoulder. Y/n gasped that it was Ruby not think he would seek her out. But what happened neck surprised her and the guy in yellow behind Ruby.
*Sign language*
/Hello, good morning. It's nice to see you again/ *Ruby signed stumbling through it*
Y/n stood still in shock and widened eyes. Y/n smiled big and signed back eagerly
/ Good morning to you too Ruby, it's good to see you again, I didn't think you would actually would try sign/
Ruby:( smiles at her) Not going to lie I don't know the last bit you said...hehe but I'm practicing! My main goal was when I saw you again was to say Hello and it was good seeing you again...And I did it! I think. (he turned his face and rubbed his back of his neck and look back down at her.
Y/n felt like she was about to cry, but for once in years it was going to be happy tears. Y/n made a heart shape over her chest and then placed her hands on top of each other and put them over her heart and patted on it. As to say it means a lot to her that he did that.
Ruby: (Smiles) I-Im glad you liked it
Yang walks up behind Ruby and hugs him and spins him around.
Yang:Ah! That was sooooooo cute bro, so that's what you've been up to this past week!!! Does my baby brother have a girlfriend.
Ruby completely embarrassed pushed Yang off of him and yelled "shut up!" which resulted in Yang letting out a hard laugh and ruffled Ruby's edgey hair.
Ruby:S-She's not my girlfriend Yang! Get off me!
Yang:( turning away from his little brother he turned his attention Y/n, he smirked and crossed his arms and leaned against the window) Not your girlfriend huh? I'll remember that. So what's this little sunshine's name?
Y/n looked a way blushing at the older boy's comment. Ruby puffed out his cheeks in frustration at his brother's flirty behavior. Not because he was jealous or anything like that!
Ruby: 👁️👄👁️.....Her name is Y/n.....
Yang:( hummed) Y/n I like it, well sunshine I'm Yang. (Giving her finger guns doing the little pew pews) and you're smok-
Yang was was caught off (much to Ruby's pleasure) by the newscast on Vale News Network playing nearby, talking about the robbery and showing Roman's mug shot.
Cyril: The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa.
The mugshot changes to Lisa Lavender, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!" followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks.
Lisa: Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted...
The news feed is cut off as a hologram of Glynda replaces it.
Glyn: Hello, and welcome to Beacon!
Yang: Who's that?
Glynda: My name is Glyn Goodwitch.
Yang: Oh....I knew that
Glyn: You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world. (disappears)
Ruby: (among several other gasps of surprise) Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here! (Ruby and other students look through the glass walls at the town below) I guess home isn't too far after all!
Yang: Beacon's our home, now. (Glancing over to see how Ruby was close to Y/n.
The three suddenly hears someone groaning and hunched over nearby, running to the back of the ship.
Yang: Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone. (rolls his eyes)
Ruby: It was a nice moment while it lasted.
The ship is seen approaching Beacon across a large body of water.
Ruby (voice over): I wonder who we're gonna meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy. Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!
Y/n gave Yang an "ewww" face. She slowly backed away from the boys not wanting to take in part on what's going to happen.
Yang: Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!
Ruby: Get-Get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me!
