"How long until she wakes up" I hear a muffled voice from beside me.
"I don't know it's all down to her now. I've given her everything she needs to help her heal now her body just need's rest" Someone else replies. I slowly manage to open my eyes feeling someone holding my hand. I turn my head slowly to see Harry sitting beside me.
"Harry" I say barely a whisper. His head snaps around to look at me.
"Rory. Thank god, you scared me" He wraps his arms around me as I wince "Sorry" He says pulling away.
"It's fine"
"Aurora. Good you're awake how are you feeling" Madam Pomfrey says coming over to us checking me over.
"Sore what happened"
"You got scratched on your neck by a werewolf. It was deep. I healed it as best as I could but it's a cursed wound, it will never fully heal you'll always have the scars I'm afraid" I take a deep breath at her words.
"Will I become one of them" I say my voice shaky.
"No you weren't bitten" She smiles at me but I can see the sadness in her eyes. "Drink this it'll help with the pain. Call me if you need anything" She walks back to her office as I turn back to Harry trying to sit up. He helps me to sit before sitting back in the chair next to my bed.
"Wheres Pads" He looks at me confused "Sirius"
"Oh he's in Dumbledores office. Pettigrews on his way to Azkaban as we speak. We've still got to go back to the Dursleys for a little while until Sirius is fully pardoned"
"At least he's free. What about Moony"
"He's in his office, he came to see you a couple of times. He feels so guilty"
"I don't blame him. Harry can you get him for me please" He nods before leaving, looking around I see Ron a few beds down fast asleep. Harry walks back in with Moony who looks up at me before running towards me and pulling me to him.
"Rory. I am so sorry little wolf" He cries into my shoulder.
"It's not your fault Moony" I try to tell him.
"It's all my fault. I'm your godfather I'm supposed to protect you but I'm the one you need protecting from. I nearly killed you Rory"
"No you didn't Moony. Your werewolf isn't you. You can't control it, it's not your fault. If it's anyones fault it's the werewolfs that bit you. I don't blame you and I'm not scared of you either"
"I'm leaving Wolf. I've quit. Someone let slip about my condition to the whole school and it's not going to take much to figure out who hurt you"
"Don't go, I still need you" I beg tears falling down my face.
"I'll never leave you. I'll always be here for you but I need to leave I can't risk this ever happening again. Next time it could be a bite it's too risky. But you can write to me all the time and I'll see you very soon I promise" He says kissing me on the head before leaving the hospital wing followed by Harry. When the doors opened again Pad's rushed to me followed by Dumbledore.
"Little Wolf, Thank godric you're okay" He pulled me into a tight hug as I wrapped my arms around him.
"Pads I'm fine I promise. I've just seen Moony, he told me he's leaving" He pulls back slightly, smiling at me sadly.
"Once I'm cleared we can be a family Rory. Me, you, Harry and Moony I promise" I nod wincing at the pain in my neck.
"I'm glad you're alright Aurora and you should be proud you saved an innocent man and found out the truth" Dumbledore said before leaving the hospital wing.
"I'm sorry I didn't get to him before you got hurt Rory"
"It's not your fault Pads no one saw any of that coming. But hey at least I'll have an awesome scar" I wink at him making him laugh. I was allowed to leave the hospital wing the next day. I stood outside the common room hoping it would be empty inside seeing as it was currently lunchtime. After giving the Fat Lady the password I walked in to find Ollie sat on one of the sofa's, he looked like he was waiting for someone. He looked up when he heard my footsteps his eyes meeting mine.
"Aurora" He pulled me to him "I was so worried. Harry said you was in the hospital wing but wouldn't let anyone go see you or tell us what happened" He looked down at my neck that was currently bandaged up before looking back up to my face.
"Come with me" I say leading him up to my dorm room and into the bathroom. "I got attacked by a werewolf. Luckily it was only a scratch so I'm safe, I won't turn into one but the scar will never heal."
"Werewolf, you mean Professor Lupin attacked you" He shouts slightly.
"It was an accident Ollie he wasn't in control"
"Rory he attacked you and you're defending him. I know he's your godfather but you'll be scarred for life because of what he did. He never should have taken the job. He knew he was dangerous and could hurt someone" He shouts getting angrier.
"Ollie please"
"What Rory. He could have killed you"
"But he didn't, I'm fine"
"Fine. Is that what you're calling it. You will never look the same again don't you get that"
"Does that bother you, that I'll be permanently scarred"
"I can't do this Rory. I think we should break up, this isn't what I signed up for when I asked you to be my girlfriend" He turned walking out of the room as I slid down the wall. I don't know who long I sat there before Angelina walked in.
"Rory. Harry told me what's happened, he thought you'd need a friend. How are you" She sits next to me.
"He ended it Ang, because I'm going to have scars forever he ended it. Said he never signed up for this" I say between sobs as she pulls me to her.
"I'm going to kill him. You are an amazing person Aurora Potter even with scars"
"I haven't even been able to bring myself to look at them Ang. I keep making others feel better about it by saying I'm fine and I'll have some cool scars but I'm too scared to even look at them"
"Oh sweetie. Let's do it together okay. I won't go anywhere, I promise" She stands holding her hand out for me helping me up. "I'm going to look first" She gently reaches for the bandages and starts to remove them as I hold my breath. She gasps once they're fully uncovered. "It's okay Rory. Just take a breath then turn to look in the mirror. I'll be here beside you the whole time" I take a couple of deep breaths as she takes one of my hands in hers before I slowly turn to see myself in the mirror. As soon as I see my neck my hands shoot up to cover the sob that leaves my mouth. There are 3 deep scratches that start on my jaw all the way down to my collar bone. Angie pulls me to her wrapping her arms around me and pulling me away from the mirror leading me into the bedroom to sit on my bed. "I'm going to get Fred and George, you need them right now. I'm here as well don't worry but they're your best friends"
"Thank you Angie" I manage to smile at her before she leaves the room to find the twins. whilst she's gone I start searching my trunk for a way to cover my neck, I find an oversized red hoody. I put it on and pull my hair around to one side before looking in a mirror again. It managed to hide most of it. Ang walks back in with Fred and George.
"I'll see you in a bit Ror" I nod at her as she leaves me alone with the twins.
"Angelina told us everything Rory. Ollie's a dick and he's lucky he's graduating" Fred said taking a seat one side of me as George sits the other.
"You're gonna have to show us the damage, might as well get it over with. Harry and Ron told us what happened that night" George says wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
"It's not pretty" I tell them both.
"We don't care Rory you're still our best friend even if you get heavily disfigured we'd still love you" I laugh slightly at Fred as I carefully move my hair and take my hoody off.
"Oh Rory. You're still beautiful even with that mark on your neck. If anyone tries to say something to you they will be dealing with us and that's a promise" George says pulling me to him whilst Fred nods in agreement.
"I love you guys"
"We love you too. But we have some things to sort" Fred winks at me.
"Ollie?" I glance at him.
"Who else. Don't worry we won't kill him" He winks at me again before leaving with George. I have no intentions of stopping them either.
The exam results came out on the last day of term. I'd passed everything as well as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Harry was amazed that he had got through Potions though. Snape's behaviour toward us over the past week has been quite alarming. Didn't think it was possible that Snape's dislike for us could increase, but it certainly had. A muscle twitched unpleasantly at the corner of Snape's thin mouth every time he looked at Harry or me. Percy had got his top-grade N.E.W.T.s and was bragging about them to everyone. Fred and George had scraped a handful of O.W.L.s each even though they were smart they just didn't care about school. Gryffindor House, meanwhile, largely thanks to their spectacular performance in the Quidditch Cup, had won the House championship for the third year running. This meant that the end of term feast took place amid decorations of scarlet and gold, and that the Gryffindor table was the noisiest of the lot, as everybody celebrated.
As the Hogwarts Express pulled out of the station the next morning I sat with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and George. Harry was watching Hogwarts disappear from view behind a mountain.
"Oh, cheer up, Harry!" Hermione said sadly.
"I'm okay," said Harry quickly. "Just thinking about the holidays."
"Last one with them Harry just think about that" I smiled at him.
"Yeah, I've been thinking about them too" said Ron. "Harry, you've got to come and stay with us. I'll fix it up with Mum and Dad, then I'll call you. I know how to use a fellytone now"
"A telephone, Ron," said Hermione. "Honestly, you should take Muggle Studies next year" Ron ignored her.
"It's the Quidditch World Cup this summer! How about it, Harry? Come and stay, and we'll go and see it! Dad can usually get tickets from work." This proposal had the effect of cheering Harry up a great deal. "Yeah I bet the Dursleys will be pleased to let me come especially after what I did to Aunt Marge"
"You'll be coming as well Rory whether you like it or not even if I have to drag you over my shoulder" Fred said as I roll my eyes at him before smiling. We all played several games of Exploding Snap even Hermione joined in.
"Harry," Hermione said suddenly, peering over his shoulder. "What's that thing outside your window?" We all turned to look outside. Something very small and grey was bobbing in and out of sight beyond the glass. Harry stood up for a better look and saw that it was a tiny owl, carrying a letter that was much too big for it. The owl was so small, in fact, that it kept tumbling over in the air, buffeted this way and that in the train's slipstream. Harry quickly pulled down the window, stretched out his arm, and caught it. He brought it carefully inside. The owl dropped its letter onto Harry's seat and began zooming around their compartment, apparently very pleased with itself for accomplishing its task. Hedwig clicked her beak with a sort of dignified disapproval. Phoenix looked just as unhappy as Hedwig as she shook her wings slightly. Crookshanks sat up in his seat, following the owl with his great yelloweyes. Ron, noticing this, snatched the owl safely out of harm's way. Harry picked up the letter. It was addressed to him. He ripped open the letter, and shouted.
"It's from Sirius!"
"What?" said Ron and Hermione excitedly. "Read it aloud!"
Dear Harry, I hope this finds you before you reach your aunt and uncle. I don't know whether they're used to owl post. Next summer we will all be together again I promise. I hope you and my little wolf are okay.
"Who's his little wolf" George asked confused.
"I am" I told him before Harry carried on reading.
I forgot to tell you. It was me who sent you the Firebolt for Christmas
"Ha!" Hermione said triumphantly. "See! I told you it was from him!"
"Yes, but he hadn't jinxed it, had he?" Ron replied. "Ouch!" The tiny owl, now hooting happily in his hand, had nibbled one of his fingers in what it seemed to think was an affectionate way.
Crookshanks took the order to the Owl Office for me. I used your name but told them to take the gold from my own Gringotts vault. Please consider it as thirteen birthdays' worth of presents from your godfather. I would also like to apologize for the fright I think I gave you that night last year when you left your uncle's house. I had only hoped to get a glimpse of you before starting my journey north, but I think the sight of me alarmed you. I am enclosing something else for you, which I think will make your next year at Hogwarts more enjoyable. I'll write again soon. Sirius
Harry looked eagerly inside the envelope. There was another piece of parchment in there. It was permission to go to Hogsmeade.
I, Sirius Black, Harry Potter's godfather, hereby give him permission to visit Hogsmeade on weekends.
