peace of mind is an album released by canadian-south korean singer, dancer and songwriter 𝗬𝗨𝗥𝗜 through bighit music. the album marks the singer's first full length solo album.
the album consists of 8 songs, including the lead single, nonsense. the 'clear' version of the album includes an additional photocards as well as a copy of her journal which includes notes, doodles and original lyrics that might have been changed. much like with all of her solo work, yuri is credited as a writer on all of the songs.

drive is about yuri wanting to just stop worrying about what other's might think of her and the image they have constructed of her. she wants to feel free in her art and how she expresses herself, all of her beliefs and true feelings that she has been made to feel like aren't valid. drive is the start of the album and it's carries the whole message of the album to the listener.

this song was written when yuri's anxiety and depression was at its worst. she was getting more hate than she'd ever received (which is really saying something) and she was convinced her career was over.
the media had created this persona for her and everyone believed what was being said instead of just asking yuri. it's been sitting in her drafts for years but she had played a snip bit of this song in a live once and it was highly loved by fans so she decided to include it on the album.

this song is about her and jungkook's relationship. she started writing it before they started dating but abandoned it, too frustrated with her feelings to finish it. later, she finished it during the early stages of their relationship, when they were still a secret from the public and they (mostly yuri) were worried about how news of them dating would effect their careers.

yuri herself explains this song as "everything i've been wanting to say for years..." it shows her discomfort and anger in being seen as nothing but a pretty face for years, especially during the early days. the misogyny and discrimination she faced for merely being a girl had led her to almost quitting several times throughout the years.
her singing, writing and dancing were all discredited while the boys were getting praised for doing the same thing. yuri has been over-sexualised, both by the media and the general public, every since she was a minor and she finally felt brave and strong enough to speak up about it through this song. she hopes that her talking out about it will save younger girls in the industry from facing similar problems.
soyeon from g-idle co-wrote and produced this song. later, a remix with her was released for the song.

while yuri wrote most of the song, jungkook wrote his own verse and then the two made a few changes right before recording the final version. yuri has described this song as a shared inner conflict over pursuing a relationship, from both sides.
jungkook's verses are clearly more confused and questioning of her intentions. it seems as though he knows that she shares his feelings, but also knows that she's holding back. he's more clear and open with sharing his feelings.
while yuri's verse focuses more on keeping him at a distance for his own sake. she tries to keep him safe from herself and, as it's worded in the song, "a dark illusion called love" since she has had bad experiences with love in the past.
the chorus shows their shared interest in each other. it's a mix of both their perspective as they come to the same conclusion.
( bonus fact: this is the song yuri was working on when her and jungkook had their first kiss. )

nonsense marks the switch into the second half of the album. this song is a lot more carefree and playful than the rest of the album. it's almost a complete opposite of 'bad for business' or 'who are you', which both talk about yuri's concerns and insecurities with the relationship. in this song, it's almost as if she's let go of any thoughts hence the title. the song has a lot of sexual innuendos and a much less serious tone which marks the shift in the album.

clearly, the sexual implications are definitely there. she talks of a crazy kind of love. on the surface this song may seem to be a similar to lucid. lyrically, it could also be interpreted as yuri's media created persona. how the internet and media has made her out to be someone who goes through boyfriends quickly, a serial dater.
halsey co-wrote this song after yuri was having trouble with the lyrics. they spent two weeks trying to perfect the lyrics.

this song is dedicated to army and their endless support to yuri. yuri explained it as "a love letter to everyone who's supported and loved her unconditionally". in the song she mentions how she always looks for them whenever she's in the darkness and they never fail to light her up. she also mentions how only one smile of theirs can make her forget all of her bad thoughts.
suga was immediately onboard when she asked him to feature of the song. he only thought she wanted him to produce it but when she asked him if he could do a verse, he wrote it two hours before recording the song. however, he wanted it to be her own song so she ended up rapping his verse as well. it was only later that she realised he had tricked her into rapping.
