Professor Turo and AI Sada have initiated a battle.
Professor Turo sends out Iron Treads.
AI Sada sends out Great Tusk.
Gripping my Pokeballs tightly, I took a deep breath. "One more fight. Tinkaton, Goodra, you've got this!"
Both Pokemon bust into battle, ready for this.
"Tinakton, use Giganton Hammer on Iron Tusk; Goodra, use Dragon Pulse."
Both Pokemon attacked, doing respectful damage but clearly not enough.
"Your Pokemon, it won't be enough against the power of the future. So give in and accept reality." Turo barked, readying his command. "Iron Treads, use earthquake."
Flinching, I called out just in time with any counter I could think of. "Tinkaton, quickly use protect. Then, Goodra, defend best you can with shelter!"
While Tinkaton managed to repel the attack with no issue, Goodra took a critical hit only saved by his raised defences.
Super effective.
"Tinakton, use sword dance; we need to even the odds," I shout, taking out my Pokeball. "Goodra return."
"Go, Iron Valiant!"
AI Sada held her arm out, talking down to me. "D₀ you imɑgine you cɑn best thə wealth ₀f dɑta at my dısposɑl with your huⅿan braın?"
AI Sada recalled Great Tusk sending in her next Paradox Pokemon. The same one that she used to defeat the one attacking the school. Flutter Mane.
Flutter Mane used Shadow Ball on Iron Valiant.
It had no effect.
AI Sada recalled malfunction. "Whɑt?! Some sort of ərror has occurred here... Recɑ|culatıng for an unknown cause."
Professor Turo took charge as Tinkaton used another sword dance. "Ignore that Paradox Pokemon; Iron Treads defeat Tinkaton now!"
"Not so fast! Quickly Iron Valiant, let's show them how we do it in Hisui, strong stance Bitter Maliace!"
Iron Valiant charged up, unleashing a rippling ghost attack freezing Great Tusk in its track.
"Impossible! What is this Paradox Pokemon?"
"Tinkaton, don't hold anything back; use Gigaton hammer on Flutter Mane!"
Tinkaton unleashed a brutal attack knocking out Flutter Mane in one strike.
Super effective.
Both professors were left completely baffled by this sudden turn of events. "N0w, thıs is ıntere5ting... Chi|d, d₀ you aɔtually understɑnd ancıent Pokéⅿon's weaknəsses?"
Turo glanced down at me, recalling Iron Treads, while AI Sada recalled her Pokemon. "I see. Clever trick, child."
Professor Turo sent in Iron Jugulis. AI Sada sent back in Great Tusk.
"Iron Jugulis, use dark pulse on Iron Valiant."
Iron Valiant was repelled back; the curtain tossed away at it morphed into Zorua.
Super Effective.
"Mimi! Are you alright, girl!?"
Zorua looked at me with a reinsuring bark. Smiling, I nodded, keeping my cool. "You're right; we can't back down yet."
"Your Hisuian Pokemon are remarkable, but they don't hold a candle to our own Paradox Pokemon." Turo taunted.
"We'll see about that; Tinkaton use Giga impact on Mimi!"
Tinkaton spun around, smashing Zorua with her hammer.
It had no effect. But it still launched Zorua high into the air. "Now, use protect one more time."
Tinkaton could tank an earthquake and dark pulse with Zorua high into the air. However, Zorua came flying back down as I commanded her. "Hold nothing back. Use Night Daze on Great Tusk!"
Hit with a not-very-effective move, it was enough, however, to take down Great Tusk, already low on health.
AI Sada stumbled back, defeated with no Pokemon remaining.
Professor Turo, furious, snapped his fingers. "Iron Jugulis use flamethrower on Tinkaton."
With too many protects used, Tinkaton was forced to withstand the attack, finally falling.
Super Effective.
Holding her Pokeball up, I whispered. "You did amazing, Tinkaton; return." Unfortunately, Goodra was already too weak to battle, and Zoura was at a disadvantage, so I had no choice but to send in the real one. "Iron Valiant, let's do this!"
Smashing down, the giant Pokemon roared, ready for battle. "Don't waste any time use play rough!"
Super effective. Iron Jugulis fainted.
Recalling his Pokemon, Professor Turo seemly had one more up his sleeve. "Everything is proceeding wıthin my expectations. I'm afraid the probabılity of you winning is zero."
Professor Turo sent in Iron Valiant, void of colour and completely chrome.
"Mimi, use sludge bomb. End this!"
"Don't allow this pathetic past Pokemon ruin us. Use protect and then Aerial ace."
My attack did nothing as a critical hit aerial ace hit Zorua. She fell back, unable to battle. Scrambling over, I picked her up, comforting her. "Mimi... You did awesomely; get some rest... Iron Valiant, it's all up to you!"
It roared to life, holding its spear behind ready. "Iron Valiant, use Spirit Break!" We both shouted as both Paradox Pokemon clashed.
Super Effective. I stood in shock as both Paradox Pokemon were unable to battle. It was over.
The Time Machine erupted, coming to a stop as Turo fell back, horrified. "No! No! This can't be possible."
AI Sada rose from her shutdown, smiling at me, still malfunctioning. "Th-thɑnk you...f₀r...everythıng... The tıme mɑchinə...hɑs fınal|y..."
Turo looked at the machine, devasted. "What have you done!? What have you done!?"
"It is over, Turo." AI Sada instructed.
The elevator opened as the others soon arrived. "Y/N! What is that!?" Nemona shouted.
Arven walked in, seeing his Dad and AI Sada. "Dad! You need to stop this."
Turo quickly looked away, horrified. "Don't look at me... I wanted to... Needed to bring her back before facing you; I can't..."
"Oh... ⎣ook...h₀w bıg you'və gr₀wn... 5o...p-pr₀ud ₀f you...ⅿy..." AI Sada croaked, still losing control.
"Shut up!" Turo barked, standing up. "You're not her; I refuse to let this end like this. Don't you see what I'm doing for you, Arven? Your mother... Sada is gone, but we can bring her back. We can bring back all the lost time; it doesn't matter anymore. I can travel back and save her and spend our lost time."
"...s₀rry...you wəre ɑlone s-s₀...|ong...Arvən."
"You never cared about me," Arven complained, refusing to hear out his father. "You married off that idea when you slaved away with work. The only thing you cared about was your research. I accepted that long ago; why can't you? Stop damning her even further."
Professor Turo looked to AI Sada, clenching his fist. Then, falling to the ground, he slammed the ground. "You're... You're right. I'm sorry."
"Did you shut down the machine?" Penny shouted, concerned.
"The machine stopped upon our defeat... I was wrong to think- I-." Turo lowered his head in shame, his Master ball falling from his Pocket. AI Sada picked it up, all the lights coming alive again. "Wh- What!? This isn't right; I command you to stand down this instant."
"Y₀u ɑre no7 gettıng ın my wɑy!" AI Sada shouted, holding the Master Ball up. "Locking down all Pokeballs not under Professor Turo or Professor Sada's command. ou wıll fal│ herə, withın this gɑrden paradisə—and aɔhiəve n■thıng in the ənd. o∪ wıll not be ɑllowed to dəstroy ⅿy parɑdise. Obstacləs t■ my goɑls WILL be elıminatəd."
Turo was forced back, reaching out for us devasted. "No! You must run, children; there's nothing you can do."
The Paradise Protection Protocol has begun a battle.
We were all knocked back as no one could call their Pokemon into battle.
Paradise Protection Protocol sent out Miraidon and Koraidon.
All my Pokemon were too weak to battle. Even if they weren't... I stood helpless, a sudden memory taking hold. Reaching for the last Pokeball, I clenched it tightly. "Everything is going to be alright... You're our last hope, Koraidon. Go!!!"
My Koraidon burst from its ball into battle. A sense of hope took us all as Koraidon began to change. Change into its battle form like before. "Alright, go, Koraidon!" Penny shouted.
Nemona was more concerned. "But can it really beat two Pokemon at once?"
"It has to; you can do it, Koraidon!" Arven shouted.
"I believe in you, Koraidon. So hold nothing back; use Collison Course on the other Koraidon."
The two Paradox legendaries clashed, shaking the whole foundation. ""Yo∪ wıll not be ɑllowed to dəstroy ⅿy parɑdise. Obstacləs t■ my goɑls WILL be elıminatəd." Finally, the Protocol exhausted ordering her two Pokemon.
Koraidon returned its own Collison Course while Miraidon used Electro Drift. We were both knocked back by the overwhelming power. Koraidon was still standing, but... It couldn't.
Coughing, my head was burning up as I tried getting back up. Reaching out, my hand rolled against something. Looking back, a large smile crawled across my face.
It was a Pokeball. A Pokeball from Hisui. Clenching it tightly, I stood up, filled with energy. Then, kissing the ball for good luck, I threw it, the lockdown not working on this one, as my Pokemon burst out.
The dust settled as it flew around, letting out a mighty battle cry. "Whoa! What is that Pokemon? It looks incredibly strong!" Nemona shouted, jumping for joy.
"Talk about evening the odds! You've got this, Y/N."
"Hello again, we meet again the long way round. I'll put my faith in you to back up Koraidon Roaring Moon!"
Roaring Moon joined the battle.
The Paradise Protection Protocol began glitching, shocked. "That isn't possible! The dɑta say I am the suÞerior. How is this!?"
"I guess your little Protocol didn't take into consideration a manmade Pokeball from 300 years ago, now did ya! You stole me from my home, tampered with time and now look to destroy Paldea with your masterplan. I say no more! Let's finish this, guys!"
Flipping my tera orb high into the air, I caught it, focusing in on Koraidon, terastallizing it. Crystals formed all around erupted as Koraidon turned into a pure dragon type.
"Fɑl|, and beɔome a foundɑtıon upon vvhıch my dreɑm may be bµilt."
"Not today. Koraidon use Tera Blast! Roaring Moon Draco Meteor!"
The combined force was unlike anything I had ever seen, blowing away the competition like it was nothing.
Both Pokemon fainted as AI Sada collapsed, shutting down one last time. Even I was exhausted, taking a step back and coming to grips with my victory.
Turo slowly stood up in awe, clapping. "A completely unforeseen outcome, even for an AI possessing the most sophisticated technology ever conceived. Even on the brink of despair, you children did not give in and instead proved your worthiness: showing the wisdom to think for yourselves, the courage to hold faith in your friends, and the fortitude to do what had to be done. Well done, well done!"
"No matter how difficult your pasts may have been or the yet-to-come future. ...I believe you can walk whatever paths you choose for yourselves now with pride. I thank you, Y/N. I thank you of you children for showing me my mistakes."
AI Sada looked to Turo, nodding. "I am sorry."
Turo took her hand, shutting down the apology. "No, my love, it is I who should apologise. I spent so much time looking to the past, wanting things how they used to be, but never once did I look to what they could be. I am afraid that the time machine cannot be put to a complete stop so long as I am here. It appears I myself am part of the system that ensures the machine reboots when stopped."
"But that means!" Arven shouted. "Mum, Dad, wait!"
"I am sorry. When I watched you all on your adventures from down here, I felt a sense of...jealousy. And guilt for snatching that from you." Turo whispered.
Professor Sada took his hand, smiling. "The way that you came together, working in league with your fellows and caring for them... The way that you sought strength and to better yourself, throwing all you are into your battles..."
Turo continued knowing what to do. "The way that you would face down even the greatest enemies to save that which you loved..."
"The way that you never ceased to seek—nor to fight for—a treasure all your own..."
"Ah, and the way that you soared free through the very skies on those wings of yours. I wish I, too, might be as free as you all—free to seek out that I might treasure above all else. Not...bound. As long as I remain here, the time machine will not stop—for I am inextricably connected to it."
"But please know this, Arven, we truly will always love you... Y/N, oh dear, Y/N words cannot describe my dismay. I'm sorry we cannot return you home."
"Wha- What!? But, but this is my way back. It has to be!"
"We have no way of controlling where it takes us. You could be lost further elsewhere in time. I am sorry." Turo regrets as the time machine begins to take the two Professors. "May we meet again at another time, fellow free adventurers. I bid you adieu!"
The time machine fell silent. The room fell dark as my heart sank. I couldn't process what happened; I couldn't process what was next. I should be relieved it's over, comforting Arven over the loss of his parents.
But at that moment, I was selfish; I had lost my hope of home. Falling to my knees, I stared up, feeling tears forming. "Home... Gone."
"Y/N... I'm so, so sorry." Nemona whispered, standing next to me. "I couldn't imagine how it feels to be so close."
"Wh- What do I do now? Where do I go from here? What should I do?"
Nemona held her hand out, trying to remain optimistic for all of us. "Let's go home, the long way round."
