Cassi and Lysander sat on the couch in silence aside from the occasional sniffle from the both of them. Cassi swirled the wine in her glass, trying to distract herself from her thoughts. She let out a small sigh as she finished the glass. Lysander grabbed the bottle from the table in front of them and refilled her glass for her. She smiled at him before taking a sip.
"I should have listened to you. I should have prepared for the worst but instead i let myself get too excited over something that was too good to be true." Cassi said, finally breaking the silence between the two. Lysander sighed as he turned toward her. He took her hand into his and gave her a small smile.
"I've never seen you be so optimistic about something. I got excited too, baby. I wanted nothing more than for this to work out. It just wasn't meant to be right now." Lysander told her. Cassi sighed and nodded before taking another sip of her wine.
"I just feel like i ruin everything i touch. I killed my mum. I almost ruined us. My dad and uncle's won't talk to me. I can't even carry a baby the right way." Cassi explained to him as she began crying once again. Lysander sighed as he took her wine glass and sat it on the table before pulling her into a hug, trying to hold back his own tears.
"You didn't kill your mum. That wasn't your fault. Im still right here beside you. Your dad and uncles are just being stubborn. Lastly, miscarriages happen, baby. This isn't your fault. You did absolutely nothing wrong. I promise you, one day you're going to be one hell of a mother and im going to love you more than i ever thought possible for giving me the greatest gift. It's just not meant to be right now." Lysander assured her. She began crying harder as the last sentence flowed out of his mouth.
"What if I can't have kids? You want a family, Ly. That's not fair to you. If I can't give you that, you should be with someone that can." She told him. Lysander sighed as he pulled away from the hug.
"I want a family with you. If kids are not in our future, we can get a couple dogs. All i want is to build a life with you. Just because you had one miscarriage doesn't mean that you can't have kids. But no matter the outcome, we're going to be just fine. I know this sucks. I hate it too but i promise everything is going to be okay." He told her as he wiped away a few of her tears that had fallen. She smiled at him and nodded in reply as he leaned in a placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
"Even if i can have kids, can we still get a couple dogs?" She asked him as she wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his chest.
"Kids or no kids, we can have whatever your heart desires, baby." He told her with a smile as he brushed his fingers through her hair.
"Why wouldn't you be able to have kids?" Lysander and Cassi both jumped at the sound of Draco's voice. Cassi sat up and watched as her father and his friends sat down around the room.
"Merlins beard, you can be so stupid sometimes. I'll go put Tori to bed." Pansy said as she took the sleeping baby from Draco. "Im so sorry for your loss. If either of you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." Pansy added before heading towards the stairs. Cassi sighed as she grabbed her glass of unfinished wine and finished it.
"I've been acting strange because i was pregnant. And now im not." Cassi simply explained as she poured the rest of the wine in her glass.
"That honestly didn't even cross my mind, im so sorry, Cas." Theo quickly apologized. Cassi simply shrugged.
"We've been acting like immature assholes. We were only giving you the silent treatment to annoy you. If i made you feel like you couldn't come to me about this, that wasn't my intention. Im so sorry, Cassi." Blaise told her. Cassi nodded as she took a sip.
"I can't imagine what that must be like, im sorry guys." Veronica told the two of them. Cassi turned towards her father who had stayed quiet.
"I really wish you would have told me, i would have stayed home with you. Im sorry, darling." Draco told her. Cassi gave him a small smile and shrugged.
"Its fine, i had Ly." She replied with a small smile as she laid back against him. "And wine." She added with a giggle as Lysander wrapped his arm around her.
"Wanna take a walk with me?" Lysander asked her. She smiled up at him.
"To our spot?" She asked. He smiled at her and nodded. "Lets go." She told him as she got up and held out her hand.
"Don't stay out too late!" Draco called after the two as they rushed out of the house hand in hand. Cassi smiled at Lysander and he smiled back at her.
"As long as we have each other, everything is going to be alright." Lysander told her. She smiled and nodded.
"I know." She replied back as she allowed him to lead the way. In that moment, everything was alright, but it was only a matter of time until her own thoughts convince her otherwise.
A/N: i love Ly and Cassi so much, i lowkey wanna do a story of their whole relationship from the very beginning but idk lol anyway, i hope you guys enjoyed! I love you all❤️❤️❤️
