I look out of my window, the sun slowly setting down on the streets of Tokyo
Some classical music in the background to keep me focused on my assignment

I sigh, tipping my pen on the page of my psychology manual, and pinching the bridge of my nose

It's only the beginning of my second year in psychology and I already regret following my dad's wishes

Dr. Mitsuki Daisuke, the first of his promo, seen as the greatest psychologist in Tokyo. Rewarded many times for his great help to the people blablabla... Just type his name in google, and you'll see how of an honorable man he is, I don't have time for this

And of course, everyone now expects his only child to be as perfect as he is. For her to follow her dad's steps, make him proud, and make her name known as well

To show the world how much of a hardworking and intelligent family we are. It would be such a dream to see the father and his daughter working together

I can already see it as the headline in articles " Dr. Mitsuki Daisuke and his daughter Dr. Mitsuki Ameya. The prodigious family"

It might be dream looking for some, but to me, it seems more like a nightmare

I try to stay focused and read again my assignment, in vain. The pounding headache making it impossible. So I just close my manual and pushed it to the side

When I look out again, the falling sun is now replaced by a rising shining moon. I pause for a moment, admiring it

Feeling recomforted by its presence, as if only she could understand me

Both of us, alone in the middle of so many others. It makes me feel safe

The light of the moon reflecting on my skin, somehow making me warmer than the sun ever could

My mom used to tell me that if one day I misses her, I'd only have to sit by the moon, and she'd be with me. It was before cancer took her 'Tu me manque maman, ma Luna' (I miss you mom, my Luna)

Shibuya's lights now took my attention

Even if it's now night, the city is still really crowded. People going out to eat at fancy restaurants, go shopping, or to go meet some friends

This city never sleeps, and neither does my insomniac ass

I just want to escape my priorities right now, and forget all about school and family

So I get up from my really uncomfortable chair, grab my argentic camera, put on an oversized dark blue hoodie, my docks and head out

I close the door of my building and immediately get hit by the noisy streets full of boring people

I take a few steps in direction of some of my favorite shooting spots

After a few walks around the city I discovered some really beautiful places that have lightning all over their facade, making them sumptuous at night

I love seeing the city at night, it is so different from what you can perceive during the day

It feels more intimate somehow like you can see its true colors

I wander around the city a bit, taking some candid pictures of the moments but don't forget to take my usual picture of the moon, which is particularly bright tonight

I walk more and cross the street, I look everywhere around me to catch the perfect shot, and when I turn around I see it. I am now in the middle of the crosswalk but I have to take this picture

We may be in the middle of summer, rain still fell on the city this morning, and there are still puddles on the ground reflecting the shop lights

Right at the front of this flower shop, two elderly people stand, the old lady looking over some flowers to inhale their delicious scent

Right next to her, what I presume is her husband, holds behind his back a bouquet of flowers

I click a few times on my camera while the scene in front of me takes place. I see in the corner of my eye people passing next to me and remember where I stand. My heart starts to beat faster, I have to be quick, the light will soon be red and cars will run over me

And there it happens, the lady looks back at her husband as he holds in front of him the bouquet. I get down on my knees to catch it with the water reflection, as the old lady smiles deeply at him, she takes the bouquet and leans in to kiss him. 'CLICK'

'I got it!' and take my eye out the camera 'yes!'

HONK! HONK

I jumped up and looked to the side, an angry man shouts at me from his car. I start to walk again as I look at the light and see that it had turned red again. 'shit' I mumble, more honks, 'sorry, sorry I didn't see, sorry'. I rush to the other side and the car finally passes by

I look back at my camera and smile, I'm sure the result will be worth it. I try to turn the mechanisms to make space on the photo sheet but it doesn't move

'shit it's full, and my dumbass didn't think to take more with me' guess it's time out

I sight and began to walk back toward my apartment

The door of the building is in front of me, I take the handle and push it open. Just as it closes back all the noises are now canceled

Maybe too much from what I used to remember, and at the same time the lights go out

'What the fuck', I grab my phone to put the flash on but it won't work. Confusion takes place in my body

I turn around and go back into the street to see if it's a global blackout in the city

But I'm left with an empty Shibuya

And now I start to panic, my heart's pounding in my chest and my breath is irregular. Suddenly, a big screen on the building in front of mine lights up. With a big inscription in the middle

"GAME"

'What do you mean by "game"?' I take a few steps, what the hell is going on, no one in sight, no single lost soul. 'Hey!!! is anybody here?!!!' No answers

An arrow now appears on the screen. I look in the direction and notice light coming from further. For a moment I stand still, my mind running wild, so many thoughts at the same time, where is everybody? am I the only one here? what happened? am I dead?

'Yeah I think I'm dead, but it's yet to decide whether I went to hell or heaven. Right now, a world without any social and familial pressure, with the city just for myself

Sounds like heaven for sure. But if I went to hell because I didn't share that viral post to save those pandas in 2016, it's really unfair... Anyway, time to find out'

I walk in direction of the light, and on my way there I notice that all cars are abandoned, when I looked inside one I saw a moldy vegetable box

No building seems to have electricity either, other than the 'game' one. What once was the overcrowded Shibuya is like a ghost town all of a sudden

I arrive in front of a really tall building, with probably around 20 floors

As I approach it I see four other people are there. My eyes widen, I get closer and as I step on the pavement I notice a green laser turning red afterward

'Weird ,' I look at the people, they don't seem fazed by the ghost town. 'Hey, do you know what happened? where is everybody?', 'Oh no, a newcomer, we're fucked', a woman says

I furrow my eyebrows confused, a man with a beanie looks at me. 'We're in the borderland, no one knows how we got here You have to play games to get visas and live, if you don't you die, if your visa expires you die, if you try to leave the arena you die, if you lose the game you die'

I look at him like he told me the most surreal thing ever

He approaches me and me and hands me a phone. 'You'll need this'

I take it and it does face recognition

The woman then speaks again. 'Now that you know, get your shit together and don't fuck everything up'

The man with glasses next to her chuckle, and the other man with a white jacket just stay in the shadow and observes us

A robotic voice announces

𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱, 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁

I look to the side and see five cleaning lifts, we all enter one each. I enter the middle one. The man with glasses is on the far left, he looks like an old man that waits at school gates to offer candy to children

Then the man with a beanie who told me this nonsense bullshit

And to my right are the woman with a red dress and at the far right the mysterious white jacket man, who I didn't even get to see a glimpse of his face.

I notice a screen with two buttons 'A' and 'B'

𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀

as the sentence is said, the woman starts to cry 'what! no, no this can't be possible she turns around to come down but the cleaning lift closed and would not open

It then starts to rise

The man with glasses doesn't seem calm either. Once we've reached what seems to be the middle of the building the robotic voice announce

𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲: 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆

What the fuck did I got myself involved in. 'Looks more like a diamond game to me' the woman says

'Not if you trick someone out.' The mystery man says, I look at him, he seems super chill about the situation

Not like the other woman who was balling her eyes out just a minute ago or the pedo that look like he was going to shit himself

'Diamonds?' I ask, and beanie tells me. 'Oh yeah, forgot to mention, there is four categories of games. Clubs, spades, diamonds and hearts. Clubs are team games, spades are strength games, diamonds are intellectual ones and hearts, well...'

Mystery men finish 'You play with people's hearts, manipulate them and betray them'. I look back at him and see that he is smirking, he really enjoys the situation, doesn't he?

There is little music that indicates that the game begins

I look at the screen and see the first question

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭)
𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗮𝗸𝘂𝘀𝗮, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗻?
-𝟯 𝗼𝗿 𝟰

The woman yells in happiness. 'Oh my god this is going to be so easy aaaah'.
I look at her, no emotions on my face, I don't like her. I focus on my own answer, okay, well like she said easy. I press the 'A' button

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗔-𝟯 - 83% 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

We all get up to one floor, making us the elevens floor

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮)
𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗸𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗷𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗽?
-𝟮𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀

Glasses man says 'oh I know that one, it's 2600 points'

'But how can I be sure you are telling the truth? Although, I already know the answer' I tell him

'You for sure can't know, heart game baby.' He looks at me through his weird glasses, I frown disgusted at the nickname and choose my answer, it's 2600, so button 'A'

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗔- 𝟮𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 - 79% 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

And to the twelves floor, we go. 'I wonder when this will get tenser and one of you will die' the mystery white jacket man says.

'You seem really confident, what makes you think you won't be the one who dies first' I ask him, he does something that looks like a chuckle. 'I am too smart to die'. I shake my head whatever you say

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟯)
𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗲𝗻𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱?
-𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻

'Seems like we're all getting out of here alive after all, what a stupid heart game'. The woman says, I see she's trying to be as confident as mister I am too smart to die but I can clearly see through her shaking hands that not even herself believes it. We all answer before the minutes runs out. I click on the answer 'A'

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗕- 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻 - 34% 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

'Shit' , Wrong answer but fortunately I clicked on what the majority of people in the survey also answered so I only get down one floor, and it looks like we all got it wrong. Except for the smarty one

So the four of us get back down to the elevens floor and all get an electric shock on the bonus because we clicked 'majority'. A big one that makes me fall to my knees, and as I get back up I notice some of the others did too

White jacket man goes up to two floors since he got it right like a minority and that takes him to the fourteenth floor

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟰)
𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗲𝗻𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 "𝗠𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗮" 𝗮𝗻𝗱 "𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹-𝗼'-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗽"?
-𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘇 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘇𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘅 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗵𝗻

We all answer without saying too much, trying not to choose the wrong answer.

I know that one, it's Franz Liszt, I remember working on his work 'Mazepa' in high school, it was boring but fortunately it was useful at this moment. Really thought everything you learned in school was useless, guess I was wrong

But as the minute goes on I see the woman on my right, moving a lot, I notice the sweat on her forehead, I look and I see she hasn't answered yet

Smarty pants who looks bored right now, seems to notice too. He bends over. 'Hey there, don't you know what the answer is?'

She looks up at him and shakes her head, he then tells her not too loud. 'Answer 'B' Felix Mendelssohn'.

I shot my head in his direction. why is he lying to her?

He looks me in the eye and winks at me, he knows that if he makes someone chose the wrong answer, he will go up to five floors plus one, which would take him directly to the 20th floor.

'How do I know you are not lying?'

'That's the thing right? Hearts game'

She looks at her screen 10 seconds remaining, she quickly answers

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗔- 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘇 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘇𝘁 - 55% 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

She looks at the white jacket man horrified 'What? But you told me it was answered B!' To which he answers by quoting her. 'Seems like you're not getting out of here alive after all'. He smirks. 'Now the game finally begins'.

We all look at the woman she got the answer wrong, and it was a 'minority" answer, which means

'𝗔𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿.'

The cables of her cleaning lift break and she falls to the ground screaming. I gasp and turn back immediately, putting my hand over my mouth, my eyes wide open from what I just witnessed. White jacket, slowly getting up the floors says 'now you know what to expect'

He answered correctly and tricked someone to choose wrong so he get to five more floors plus one because he answered correctly. That takes him directly to floor 20 making him free of the game

While the three of us remaining gets to the twelves floor once again

Question 5)
Asked of 100 hostesses in Ginza, who is the president of Tunisia?
-𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗶𝘇 𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗳

I concentrate once more, now that I know what I've been told is not bullshit, I take the game way more seriously

Today luck must be on my side, I know who is the president of Tunisia but the rules don't imply that you have to answer with your own knowledge but if you think people in the survey got it with a majority or a minority

The answer might be correct but it might have been with a minority of correct. Like question three. I click on answer 'B' I know it

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗕-𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗳 - 𝟯𝟳% 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

'Yes!'

'What, how do you know that?' The glasses guy asks me clearly annoyed I got it right.

I look at him and smirk. 'School taught me more than one thing, you should try too' I tell him, 'Not that I don't think you haven't tried before'. I mumble to myself

They were wrong, like the majority of the survey, so they get down to the eleventh and get shocked. Since I got it right, like the minority I go up to two floors and arrive on the fourteenth floor

Question 6)
𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗼, 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝗶 [𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲] 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀?

-𝗞𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗹

I don't know the answer, it's not that complicated but I have a doubt about the right one to choose, so I look down and see the two others discussing

I listen carefully and realize that the glasses guy is telling the beanie guy the answer 'Yeah, I have a niece, and she once told me that it is Kyawapil'

I smile, but it slowly fades. I was in the psychology field, I recognize it when someone is lying

He is telling the wrong answer to the beanie man. I don't have time to tell him, there are only ten seconds remaining to vote, I press answer 'A'

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗔- 𝗞𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 - 𝟱𝟯% 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

'What?' I look down and see the man with a beanie panicking. 'No , no,no'
His cables breaks and he falls straight to the ground, dead. I look straight in front of me, a single tear rolling down my cheek. I get up to the fifteens floor, and the glasses man gets up to the seventeenth floor

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟳)
𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 "𝗖œ𝘂𝗿" 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻?
-𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹

I sigh in relief, my mom was French, so I obviously knew that coeur meant heart. I'm on the fifteenth floor right now, only five more and I'm out of here alive

I know that this question might be easy for me but I need to remember that they're getting harder and harder, and can't always count on luck to survive

After all, it's a heart game, right?

I turn around and look at the moon, I have to do it. 'Hey!' I look over the lift. 'Do you know the answer?'

He looks down at me and shakes his head

'Listen, my mom was French, I know what it means.'
He looks back at me with wide eyes 'What is it?'

'In French, heart means ' I pause.

He knows I could be lying, in fact, that's exactly what I am counting on. So let's put the act.

'It means heart!' I tell him furrowing my eyebrows and putting on a pity look. I put a hand on my heart. 'You can trust me'. I say smiling with a naive voice.

He looks at me debating with himself. 'How can I trust you, you're far behind me, I don't need your help!'

'What ?!' I fake an exaggerated shock. 'Why would I do that? I just want to help you, Enough people already died. You can trust me, it's heart'.

He looks at me disgusted and angry, 'I saw right through you! You are lying !!' he turns his head back to answer.

I murmured to myself. 'No, I saw right through you'. I smirk.

𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗔- 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 - 𝟳𝟵% -𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

'You bitch! I thought you were manipulating me'

'Oh I was. Reverse psychology'. I smile at him proud of myself. 'Heart games baby'.

He falls down, I see his body falling in the corner of my eye. I block out the noise, I don't even hear him screaming at me, nor his body crashing on the ground.
Only the shock of the metal cleaning lift once it reaches the floor, indicates to me that it's over for him

Mine starts to move up, I got the answer correct sure, but I tricked him so I get five floors up. Since I was on the fifteenth one, it takes me all the way up to the 20th floor

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱. 𝐓𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮

I get out of my cleaning lift, numbing all the feelings storming inside of me

'Didn't though you would be the kind to play with hearts' I look up and see the man with the white jacket standing before me, hands in his pocket. 'Even less on your first game'

I look back at him. 'Too bad I didn't get to play with yours'. He laughs

Really after what just happened? I'm really not in the mood for this

'You don't look too shocked by the fact that you just killed someone' he says

He looks at me deep in the eyes, like he's trying to figure out my entire soul

'We might not be so much different after all'. Seeing someone dies doesn't particularly shock me that much

But even if I am numbing it out, I just killed someone, voluntarily, and that's different. I know I should feel awful about it but I don't. I don't know if it's because the guy seemed off to me, or if I am really as heartless as him

He seems to see right through my barricades. 'Don't feel bad about the man you killed, he was known to be a recidivist for sexual assault on minors'

I feel my tensed shoulder relax. 'I knew it'

He nods and then turns around to leave the building. I follow not too long after. Once I'm out, I am welcomed by the dead bodies of the three other players, or what is left of them

I look around but the mystery man is nowhere to be found. Only a card on the table remains, a four of hearts, I take it

Leaving the crime scene behind me as I get back into the empty streets, to go back to my apartment

Once I arrive, contrary as usual I immediately pass out on my bed, hoping to wake up and realize that it was only another nightmare...
