Writer: TheRealUrban
There are sooooo many Black books and so little getting real notice. I'm trying to bring attention to some lesser seen writers on this app. One of my first followers was TheRealUrban.
Her books are Blackity-Black and tell real good stories. Whenever Black writers do have some success here, it's never stories like this that deserve more reads. My opinion is a good story is a good story no matter where it is set.
I like urban stories because I grew up surrounded by it, made it out and reflect on stories where people are just trying to make it.
Here are some of her books to try:
Go find some new Black books from the Contemporary Lit category. I know at some point it was called "Urban Lit" and some liked the change and others did not. I joined Wattpad right as it changed so Contemporary Lit for Black stories is all I know.
To me, that category does not describe all books that have Black culture, storylines and us represented. Basically, they need to change it again, but that's just my thoughts.
