Elvira woke up with a start as she looked around the room, about to panic she calms down once she registered the smell around the room it was chocolate and pine along with salt water and candy Ajax and Kent's room, looking around she saw no Ajax or Kent so using her hearing she realized she was the only one in here
Looking down she saw a note on the pillow next to her with the nickname Ajax gave her on it picking it up she read it
'Angel you fell asleep earlier and I didn't want to wake you if you see this that means I'm probably getting you something to eat at the Cafe if I'm not back by the time you wake up come join me - Love Jax'
Smiling Elvira gets up and quickly washes her face of tears and puffiness before she looks for her stuff, but it wasn't there so venturing back to the library she hears a voice "No it was more like a day old contusion keep looking" Walking down the stairs Elvira sees Wednesday holding a paper talking to Thing
"Hey Wednesday" Elvira states "Hello Elvira" Wednesday greets back "Woah what's that" Elvira asks seeing the picture in her hand it looked familiar for some reason, "This is a watermark I found in a book I'm looking for Do you know it" Wednesday asks eagerly showing it to her
Elvira nods "Mhm I've seen it in the family library" She tells the Goth girl "If I'm correct that belongs to a secret society called um what is it" Elvira thinks, it was a flower poisonous deadly even "Oh the Nightshades my father made it or something" Elvira waves off grabbing her stuff "I don't usually find students in here looking for actually books" The voice of Ms.Thornhill states as she walks down the steps "Most sneak in to make out" She tells them
"I walked in on two vampires fanging I can't unsee that" Wednesday tells her "Is there something I can help you find" Thornhill asks Wednesday looking at the bookcase before looking back at her "Have you seen this before it is a watermark from a book I'm looking for" Wednesday asks showing her like she did Elvira
"I think it's the symbol of an old student society um the Nightshades" Thornhill tells her after looking at the picture Elvira hears her heartbeat speed up slightly and it unnerves her but she brushes it off for now just wanting to leave "Like the deadly flower color me intrigued" Wednesday states
"I was told they disbanded years ago" Thornhill states "Any idea why" Wednesday asks Elvira nods she knew why but she wasn't asked so she kept her mouth shut "Sorry" Thornhill shakes her head her heartbeat skips Elvira looks at her suspiciously, she knew why
Elvira leaves speeding to the Cafe where Ajax was sitting with their friends minus Divina "Hey Angel" He greets upon seeing her "Hey Jax" She smiles setting her stuff down "Hey guys" Elvira greets her friends "Hey" Sup" "Hi" Were the greetings she got in return "Where's Xavier" Elvira asks as he's usually with them "Went on a run" Kent tells her she nods
The group starts talking and having fun before Elvira notices Yoko looking paler than usual and holding her throat "Yoko you ok" She asks getting their friend's attention Yoko shakes her head frantically before pointing to her plate with shaky hands following her finger they see garlic bread half eaten "Holy shit" Elvira cusses as Yoko starts convulsing she gets up while her friends spring into action
"Jax, Kent lay her down Enid start rubbing her right thigh" Elvira orders quickly rifling through her bag, taking out an Epipen Elvira helps Enid rub Yoko's thigh before jabbing the pen into it, pressing down Elvira administers the Epipen into Yoko, Yoko slowly starts to calm down when a frantic Divina arrives "What the hell happened" She asks worried for her girlfriend
Elvira smelled a scent on Yoko's plate "Bianca" She growled Divina sneered yes she was friends with Bianca but hurting her girlfriend was too far for some stupid competition "Alright guys get her up let's take her to the nurse" Elvira states Kent and Enid pick Yoko up while Divina grabs their stuff and they all rush to the infirmary, smelling Bianca still in the Cafe Elvira speeds to her and slams her against the wall by her neck

"Watch yourself, Bianca, you hurting Yoko is your second strike, if you make it to three I will simply relieve you of this earth is that clear" Elvira threatened, Bianca gasped for air Elvira let go slightly so she could talk "Crystal please let me go" Bianca pleaded "Pathetic" Elvira spat before nicking her wrist and shoving it in Bianca's throat forcing her to swallow "That should heal you, tread lightly Bianca Barclay next time I won't be as merciful" Elvira states looking down at her before Ajax comes and drags her away by her waist
"That was so hot" He states breathlessly in a whisper, Elvira hearing him loud and clear blushes before shaking it off and the two venture to the infirmary to check on Yoko, The nurse informed the group that Yoko would be out the rest of the night and not healed until after the Poe Cup meaning she couldn't participate which Enid was devastated about but Elvira could care less seeing as her friend was laying on a hospital bed
"I could give her some of my blood but I don't know how her body would react" Elvira mutters to Divina, she shakes her head "No too risky anything else" Divina asks looking at her before looking at her unconscious girlfriend and kissing her hand "I can look through my grimoire it might have something" Elvira states taking the book out and opening it
"No, no, no, no, no maybe actually no" Elvira mutters flipping through the pages "Here" She exclaims "This will allow me to take some of her pain away and heal her a little bit effectively making the healing process faster" Elvira states showing them "Please" Divina asked, Elvira nods putting her hand on Yokos, Ajax, Kent, and Divina watched as black veins traveled from Yoko to Elvira as she muttered in Latin
Pulling away Elvira breathes heavily and takes the water Ajax offered her "Thanks" She states between drinks "That should be less painful for her as well as healing her slightly" Elvira informs them Divina hugged Elvira as thanks "What were those black veins" Kent asks curiously "That was Yoko's pain I was taking away" Elvira tells him he nods looking amazed, Elvira shakes her head at him every time she did or explained magic the boys were always amazed
Ajax wraps his arm around her to stabilize her after seeing her sway a little "Hey guys we're gonna go" Ajax states "Me too" Kent states "Alright thank you Ria" Divina states hugging her "It's fine and please text me when she wakes up" Elvira tells her, Divina gives her a nod before the trio leave
Ajax walks Elvira to her room after making them invisible to Thornhill who was patrolling the dorms even though it wasn't ten yet, "Woah" Ajax states "Mhm" She hums looking at him after she puts her bag down "Your guy's room is so cool" He muttered "Thanks" She smiles "Wanna watch a movie" She asks after changing into her pjs him doing the same as he had gone to get some earlier, he nodded eagerly and Elvira put Harry Potter on her computer and that's how they fell asleep
It was now the next morning and Enid was bugging Elvira about joining the black cats "Enough Enid, Yokos in the infirmary and I could care less about some stupid competition, you're my friend Enid and I'm yours but I can't" Elvira snaps "But you promised" She pouts Elvira sighs forgetting she promised "Fine but only because I promised" Elvira tells her
Enid nods eagerly before dragging her to the tent where Wednesday was getting ready "I figured you would join and wouldn't like to costume so this one's yours" Enid says shoving close into her hand "Now get dressed" She demanded before walking out Elvira looks at Wednesday "How'd you get roped in" She asks getting dressed "I want to make Bianca drown in her defeat" Wednesday spoke making Elvira nod in agreement while putting on her cat ears,
Elvira looked at her clothes, Enid definitely stole them from her closet how she didn't know but she would talk to Enid about that later
Walking outside with Wednesday they were greeted with a beaming Enid "Omg you look purfect" Enid said showing her hands like claws "One thing where are your whiskers" She asks putting her hands down and looking at their faces "Ask again and you'll be down to eight lives" Wednesday threatened "Don't push it" Elvira said at the same time
The trio walk to their canoe taking their seats with some girl Elvira didn't know the name of then Wednesday then Enid, Elvira looks to her side and sees Ajax with his joker makeup 'Nice' She mouths 'You too' He mouths back "Focus" Wednesday's dull voice states "What do we have here the runt of the litter" Bianca taunts
"For the record, I don't believe I'm better than everyone else just better than you" Wednesday jabs, Elvira can hear Bianca's heartbeat speed up as a look of shock passes her face "A soon-to-be dead fish if it doesn't shut up" Elvira glares making Bianca quickly look forward
"Elvira" Ajax's stern voice spoke making her look at him "What did I tell you last night" He said speaking in a normal volume knowing she could hear him "Not to threaten the stinky fish" She muttered "What was that Angel speak up" Ajax commands Elvira looks away blushing at his commanding tone making Divina wiggle her eyebrows she was actively ignoring Bianca for now "Not to threaten the stinky fish" Elvira repeats louder "Good girl" He states making her almost fall out the canoe
"I want to welcome you all to the Edgar Allan Poe Cup this is one of Nevermore's proudest annual traditions dating back 125 years" Weems states into a microphone as she stands on a stage "Each team must row across to Raven Island, pull a flag from Crackstone's Crypt, and hustle back without sinking or being sunk" She lists
"First team to cross the finish line with their flag wins the cup and bragging rights for a year, as well as some special privileges, let the Poe Cup begin" Weems shouts into the microphone and then Weems raises a pistol in the air and shoots it in the air from where she got it Elvira didn't know and didn't want to know
All four canoes get pushed from the dock rowing across the lack "Oh excuse us" Xavier mocks rowing in front and passing them "Ass" Elvira states as they row, Elvira using all of her enhancements hears a splash and looks to her right, she didn't see anything but water splashing in an area narrowing her eyes she disregards it for now
"Stroke, stroke, stroke" Another boat filled with executioners comes next to them, and one of them bends down pulling something, Elvira hearing a wiring noise speaks "Duck" All four girls duck as an axe flys forward then back, once it's gone the girls sit up again and continue rowing
Hearing something in the water she looks down and sees something "Kent" She whispers realizing how Bianca wins, just then the executioner's boat moves to the side and towards a buoy they freak out before it crashes into said buoy sending them into the water
Looking up ahead she can see Kent's tail splash out and in the water, Wednesday takes a telescope and looks through it "Thing" She demands, looking behind her Elvira sees Thing flipping a leaver. Listening she can hear something fly through the water before it hits something and then there's a low shrieking noise, Elvira guessed it hit Kent effectively slowing him down
The girls soon push up on shore and Elvira can see Ajax and Xavier already gone from their boat "Stay here and make sure Bianca can sabotage our boat" Wednesday commands getting out and running into the forest "Thing I need you to distract a couple of jokers" Enid states looking at Thing
Thing then scurries out of the boat and onto a log where a picks up a pebble and flings it at the jokers catching their attention He then flips them off and runs away from the jokers chasing him, Enid stands and unleashes her claws and slashes their boat with a grunt before going back to their boat "Good job E" Elvira says high fiving her
Soon Bianca's team lands onshore and She and Divina run into the forest it's a couple of minutes before all four jokers come back a row away with Ajax sending a mocking wave to Elvira, a couple of moments after that Divina and Bianca arrive rowing away also Wednesday shortly returns after that
"Come on" Elvira states "Hurry up we have to go" Enid demands, Wednesday sticks the flag to their canoe before hopping in and rowing away, in last place, Elvira gets an idea "Let's hope this works" She mutters "Morabor" Elvira states waving her hand in front of her making the two other teams go in slow motion
Catching up to the jokers Elvira's spell breaks as they pass them, looking down she could see water flooding their boat "Hey what's going on" Xavier asks looking around as his team tries to scoop the water out
Enid laughed as they pass them "See ya suckers" Elvira jeers "Cheaters" "Elvira" Xavier and Ajax yell behind them "I just asked myself WWWD what would Wednesday do" Enid states proudly as the row catching up with Bianca's team "The final two teams are the Goldbugs and The black cats" Elvira can hear Weems announce
Elvira can see Wednesday lean down and pull a leaver down hearing the spears unleash from the side of the boat, they speed up making the other team look behind them and once they see the spears they looked worried coming up right next to them
