The Truth

As Izuku continued to use the Auris, the trio found themselves in a new place, in an underground rally. Banners hung from the walls, and the speakers were wearing suits. Despite their pristine appearance, the decorations showed their true colors. A raised fist, black to contrast the orange and red fabric they're on. A man with a long, pointed nose, and a receding hairline stood up to speak. Nezu was surprised, "That's Rikiya Yotsubashi... CEO of the Detnerat company. They're responsible for most of the items you see in daily life..."

"I know. They are the top company to refuse quirkless individuals on principle. For both sale and hiring." Izuku's glare found itself on Slide 'n Go. He had no sympathy for the man, especially now that he had direct connections to a company he hates. Despite this, they focused back on the man in question when the memory started to speak. "Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for coming... As you know, we, all of us, are born with a gift. Something unique to us. A quirk. A Meta Ability. Whether that be something as grand as cryokinesis, pyrokinesis... or something as minute as weaker quirks... we should be able to express them however we wish, shouldn't we? After all, quirks are what makes us human."

Izuku became even more furious. That was an utter lie, especially to the two indivuals sharing this lucid dream with Slide N' Go. After all, Nezu was an animal with a quirk, while Izuku was a human without one. It was incredibly insulting.

The beaked nosed man continued, "That's all the Meta Liberation movement is, to give us the freedom that is necessary in this new day and age. To unshackle us from the chains that the fearful quirkless placed on us a century ago. But those quirkless... are gone. Nothing but dust in the ground. And their population is now fewer than us. Is it not our human right to change as our world does? They are a dying breed, and they know this. They even strike against us, attacking us directly through violence and tragedy, such as the man... the one who butchered so many of our brothers and sisters in Kyoto..." He paused for dramatic effect, and to check the audience reception. The memory's audience was enraptured by his words. "So I implore you all to join me in my quest to pursue the freedom of all humanity from the shackles of the past. I cannot do this alone. I wish to pursue the same goal as my ancestor... I am sure you have all heard of Destro, the so-called villain? He was dedicated to the same goal I am now, to liberate the people so that all can use their gifts freely. In that capacity, and in respect to my elder, I am Re-Destro. Will you help me liberate the world? Or are you satisfied by the shackles we are still under?"

The crowd started to chant the man's alias. And it was clear that he would have more recruits to his army. This would have been one of the largest threats in Japan if the Entity didn't exist. The sheer power of numbers and hate would have been too much for heroes to cope with, especially with traitors in their midst. The scene shifted yet again. This time it was just Slide 'n Go and Re Destro, and they were both much older. The "Grand Commander" asked the 'hero'. "Do you know why I have called you here?"

He shook his head, showing deference based on rank. "No sir."

"Please, we are all equals here. Call me Re Destro."

"Ok, Re-Destro." The three there could almost feel the respect in the man's voice for this... corporate rat.

"Well, to answer that question, there is a new force at play. I have heard from our brothers and sisters in the government. There is a new faction being investigated, called the Black Veil. Unlike the League of Villains, they do not have their beliefs known. You will be going undercover at UA high as their heroics teacher. All of the information on this new group came from UA... so you'll find the source. Learn everything about them. And inform us all whether we should take them down, or not to." It was clear the HSPC was being played, if not directly influenced by the Meta Liberation Army. If nothing else, it was despicable.

"That's enough, I think." Izuku said as they receded back into the fog, and then back to the office. Izuku turned to him. "You... I can understand why you turned to such a vile ideology. I can't give you back your parents, however, I can't change how I was born. It's not like I chose to not have a quirk... but you want to know of the Veil? Then I can certainly tell you." Izuku smiled as he prepared to tell the nightmares of the Fog.

Jonathan Byers was glad to be out of the Fog. Even though he was in an unfamiliar place where everyone had these weird quirks... he was safe. And so he was a lot calmer than he used to be. As he didn't have a quirk, he just went into UA's General Course. He still wanted to be a photographer.

To be honest, the whole situation around his acceptance was dubious at best. The family he was taken in by was nice enough, but then he received an acceptance letter to UA... without having applied to it. He accepted, of course. It was the best school in the region, and the foster family was proud of him. So, his first day was just before the sports festival. So, he took the easy path laid before him... but... he was definitely nervous when he saw who was with the hero students. Sadako Yamamura. As one of the most lethal and effective killers, he made a point of avoiding those students at all costs. They didn't seem to notice him, by any method he could determine, but then, he was surprised that she started to visit the infirmary. Why would a ghost need to go there?

Keeping an eye on her, he found it surprising that she was visiting... Izuku Midoriya. A survivor from the Fog, just like him. She seemed to genuinely care for him, far more than a friend. He couldn't ponder on that long due to the sports festival... and the subsequent tragedy. He was mostly unhurt, due to his experience in survival situations, but... many of his classmates didn't. Jonathan helped Recovery Girl patch up the survivors, since he had the expertise.

But, after all of that excitement, he was called to Nezu's office. The principal of UA. He'd heard a lot about him, but didn't know how much was true. The boy approached the doors and was about to knock when he heard an argument in the room. Or, more accurately, a rant. Waiting, he found that it ended soon, and a man with a very prominent chin exited the room. He put on a smile when he saw the boy, and left. Byers approached the door and knocked.

A single voice spoke clearly "Enter!"
