°•°• jaelys sat in her father tent with her brother , father and daemon all chatting new plans and strategies to end this battle at once . one of the guards rushed in the room with a small scroll in his hand as he looked to jaelys "lady jaelys!" the woman turned her eyes to him in question°•°•
°•°• he handed her the scroll before bowing and leaving them alone at once "what is that?" asked laenor curiously , jaelys shrugged lightly opening the scroll and her brows rose lightly in surprise when she took notice of rhaenyra's flowly and elegant handwriting , it's been long since the two exchanged letters. she began reading°•°•

°•°• various emotions swirled through the taller woman's mind as her body went numb and her mind blanked "sister..?" laenor called out with his along with corlys and daemon's eyes on her in concern , laenor took the letter from her hand as his eyes scanned it . slowly shock filled his body°•°•
°•°• as those emotions swirled , her mind settled on one and it made jaelys stood from her chair taking her sword , bows and arrows as she stormed out the tent not even putting on her armor . rage was all that filled her body as her legs took her to her dragon°•°•
°•°• corlys turned to his son "what was written laenor?" asked the man , laenor sighed deeply as sympathy showed in his eyes . he handed the letter to his father as he and daemon read the passage°•°•
°•°• daemon's eyes widened as he quickly grabbed his sword turning to them "we have to go after her , ready the men" said daemon as he tightened his armor°•°•
°•°• "why?" laenor asked in confusion "because your sister has only rage in her thoughts and tonight she will end this all to return to rhaenyra" was all daemon said as he rushed out the tent°•°•
°•°• the men all looked up when they heard a loud powerful roar in the sky as their eyes caught sight of midnight's dark frame flying to were those krab fighters were°•°•
°•°• jaelys eyes filled with rage , not at the fact that she has a son . it was because she has spent three years on this damned battlefield fighting for her father when she left her love all alone giving birth to their son , her blood boiled at the fact that she missed his birth , his first ever nameday , his first words and steps and him claiming his first dragon°•°•
°•°• she was angry at her father for prolonging this battle and preventing her from ending these men on her own , she was angry at the krab king for causing this problem where she had to leave her love to end his treacherous ways . and mostly she was angry at herself because she had left rhaenyra whilst she carried their son , gave birth to him and raised him without her by their side°•°•
°•°• darkness consumed her body as her silver eyes caught sight of those krab fighters torturing some of her men who unfortunately got caught in the crossfire , she narrowed her eyes tightening her grip on her reigns "cut off their light" she told her dragon°•°•
°•°• midnight obeyed as she lowered her body before zooming past the field , her wings sending strong gush of wind as the fire that lit up the field where the krab fighters use to see was put out and the darkness engulfed them—just as jaelys liked it°•°•
°•°• jaelys took her one patch of arrows as she began shooting them at any krab fighter who was present , it migh'tve been dark yet jaelys could see perfectly fine —and she never missed. midnight twirled her frame up before zooming down "dracarys " and as her rider said those words , midnight roared unleashing her flames°•°•
°•°• reasons why people dubbed her dragon the black dread after balerion was not just because of her pure strength, agility, speed , stamina and her now large size that has grown past caraxes maybe even the size of vhagar over the years . no they named midnight the black dread because of her fire as her flames were not bright as other dragons°•°•
°•°• it was pure black with hints of electric blue in them as her fire could melt even a dragon itself from their bones , it was said that midnight was the a stone dragon egg in the depths of old valyria and was found when balerion and his rider at the time , princess aerea and midnight had gotten the mystic magic of old valyria before its doom°•°•
°•°• yet when the egg was presented to jaelys , the shells cracked off and out came a pure black with hints of blue baby dragon as the two immediately bonded with jaelys being the youngest dragon rider to ride her dragon at only age five°•°•
°•°• midnight's blacken fire rained upon those krab fighters as the light returned , their screamed and burned upin feeling only pain and agony as the fire poured on them "lower girl" midnight screeched still letting her fire rain as jaelys untied her reigns°•°•
°•°• with her weapons in hold and pure adrenaline filling her body , jaelys stood from the saddles as she jumped from her dragon . mid air she shot three arrows at the men as it killed six of them , jaelys landed on the ground rolling in the process as she quickly jumped up killing every krab fighter in sight°•°•
°•°• she heard the war cries of the velaryon armor near and the whistled screech of caraxes yet she paid no man , her main focus is finding the krab king and killing him . she put away her bow as she unsheated her blade , moonlight and slashed her way to the man's cave°•°•
°•°• caraxes let daemon dismount him as he joined midnight on burning the archors on the hills and half of their men , corlys and laenor fought on ground with daemon joining them as their eyes searched for jaelys°•°•
°•°• the taller woman grunted in pain as she felt an arrow lunged in her right shoulder , she clenched her jaw ripping it from her as she looked to the man who did it . she ran to him stabbing the arrow in his neck , killing him as she took the bow from him shooting another in the head with the same arrow°•°•
°•°• her body burned as she fought , swords slashed her yet she still had adrenaline rushing through her as she neared the kings cave . her sword cut off three men's head clean as she entered the dark cave , her senses knowing where the man hid°•°•
°•°• no words were exchanged as she heard his heavy and wheezing breathes as he tried hiding in the myths of the darkness , yet jaelys was known to indulge it as darkness feared her . the krab king didn't even have time to blink before two arrows were plunged in both his shoulders°•°•
°•°• jaelys slashed her sword against the rock wall as a small spark of fire lit ... that very whistle leaving her lips as the krab king searched in every direction to hide yet no avail , the light sparked just enough to see the man's face and her lips curled down in disgust and anger as she didn't even hesitate before swinging her blade cutting the man in half—avoiding his greyscale°•°•
°•°• she breathed out as she stabbed her sword through his skull dragging him from the cave as her eyes took sight of the velaryon army winning , her dragon burning almost the whole field with caraxes and the sun raising . a perfect sight if she must admit°•°•
°•°• as they slayed the last of the men , corlys raised his axe in victory as the men yelled and chanted in happiness as they finally won . daemon caught sight of jaelys dragging the krab kings half body as pride filled his eyes "all hail jaelys velaryon! queen of the narrow sea!" daemon announced °•°•
°•°• "queen of the narrow sea!" the men chanted banging their swords against their shields, yet jaelys kept her blank face as she noticed her a large slash on her chest and the wound on her shoulder . she breathed out tiredly as the adrenaline weared off walking to her dragon°•°•
°•°• daemon and laenor watched in concern as they saw the woman take off on her dragon not even joining their celebration°•°•
