Song of the chapter: Hey, Soul Sister by Train

The Fletcher's turned out to be really nice people. I found out that the twins go to the same school that I'll be going to and they were only a few months older. Today they invited me to take a biker ride around town with them, since we only had two more days until school went back in session. Looking out my window I saw that the sky was it's normal color here, gray. I've learned from my research that England only gets a few blue days a week. I was learning to live with it though.

Straightening the last bit of my hair I put my flat iron down with pride. I hated my hair. If I didn't straighten' it my hair would look like it had ringlets. Don't get me wrong I love ringlets but not all the time.

"Nora, your father took your bike out for you for later." I heard mom yell from the bottom of the stairs.

"Thank you!" I yelled back. After I yelled back I heard her walk away from the bottom of the stairs.

Grabbing my camera bag and a tie for my hair I raced down the stairs. My hope was that I would gracefully race down but by the second set of stairs I missed a step and landed straight on my ass. Within seconds both of my parents came to my rescue offering me an ice pack.

Gasping I automatically checked my camera. It was all in one piece with no scratch thankfully. This camera was my sweet sixteen birthday present. If I broke it I would have been furious.

"How did you do that?" Dad asked me I was groaning in pain.

"I ran down the stairs." I said sheepishly.

Dad sighed and started shaking this head.

"How many time's must we tell you not to run down the stairs?" Mom questioned me.

As if someone was looking out for me the door bell rang right before I could answer them.

"You got lucky." Mom stated as I walked over to the door.

When I opened the door Meyers and Olivia stood in front of me on their bikes.

"Hi Mr and Mrs. A!" Olivia said enthusiastically before I closed the door behind us.

Walking over to my bike in the middle of the driveway I placed my helmet on and carefully got on, with my camera strapped around my neck. I could still feel a slight sting as I sat down but I ignored it.

Olivia automatically started talking my ear off where as Meyers listened. Sometimes I had to slow down so that I could make out everything that she was saying with her British accent. They were both very different but they compliment each other nicely. It was interesting to listen to the things that they would talk about. There were some similarities between American teens and British teens, we both wore the same clothes but we talked about very different subjects. In America the teens tried to text while on their bikes where as here they converse with each other. Maybe not all teens here were like this but it felt nice to just talk and not text.

As we were pedaling down I forgot how much I missed riding it, it felt nice. In America I would have had to find a bike trail but here I could ride in the road and no one honked horns at us.

"How come we can ride in the road?" I asked them as we pedaled

down the path.

Checking behind me before I made a turn there were no cars in sight. It was peaceful and calming.

"Because we don't have as many cars come into the village here," Explained Meyers. "It's a small town."

"Let's pedal a little faster I know I spot where we can have a snack and rest." Olivia told us. By the time she had told us that she was already much farther ahead of us.

Meyers gave me a she's crazy look but pedaled faster anyway. Pedaling faster I felt the cool breeze against my neck, the sky was still slightly gray but it didn't bother us at all.

We pedaled a good ten miles as fast as we could, until Olivia told us we were here. The three of us ended up in a small park sitting under an old willow tree. It wasn't too far from the main part of the village.

If I wasn't oxygen deprived I would have already started taking pictures. Wiping the sweat off my brow I was suddenly thankful for no sun.

"Told you it would take us no time." Olivia said between breathes.

"Sure it wasn't." I gasped out before sitting on the grass next to Meyers.

"Next time let's take the car." Meyers suggested while handing the us water bottles he had packed in his backpack.

Greedily I took the water bottle and started gulping. The coolness of the liquid felt so good to my body as I continued drinking it until there was no more. It wasn't my ass that was no longer hurting it was my legs. If I could get up it would be a God given miracle.

"It's good exercise!" Olivia told him before drinking her own water bottle.

Leaning my back against the willow I took my camera out and started snapping some pictures.

"If you go down the pathway a little there's a garden that's open to the public. Let's go and stretch our legs." Meyers told us as he carefully got up.

After he successfully got up he gave both Olivia and I a hand. Standing up my legs felt like jello.

"Here give me your hand and we can hold us both up." Olivia exclaimed while grabbing onto my hand.

"Wimps." Meyers muttered as we started walking down the pathway.

In return Olivia and I stuck our tongues out at him as we followed him down the pathway. Every few steps I would stop and take a picture of something I thought was pretty before continuing.

"The next time you stop while we're holding hands I might fall over on you." Olivia warned me.

"Yes dear." I smirked.

Finally after minutes of walking Meyers stopped and turned towards us with a smile.

"We're here." He stated to us.

Looking around there was a huge garden filled with many different flowers and vegetables. It was beautiful. Tall trees surrounded the garden as if they were a barrier, just like a forest.

"You can plant a garden here. A lot of the houses here aren't big enough for a garden so this is sorta the community garden." Explained Meyers as we walked through the gardens.

Taking a picture of the trees as I zoomed in with my lens you could see the top of the castle. Now was my chance to ask them.

"Hey, what's that castle over there?" I asked them innocently.

As Olivia opened her mouth to explain Meyers glared at her. They both stared at each other as if they were communicating telepathically.

"It's owned by the Berkes." Meyers said causally breaking the silence.

"Yeah they're a powerful family." Olivia added.

Meyers glared at his sister again.

"Why don't we go and take a closer look?" I suggested hoping they would go for it.

"We're not allowed," Meyers stated. "Come on let's head back before it's dark."

As if on cue Olivia took my hand and started dragging me back towards the willow tree.

"But just one look." I protested at them while looking back at the castle.

"You don't want to be a trouble maker." Meyers told me.

Well maybe I do I thought to myself stubbornly.

Meyers and Olivia tried to take my mind off of the castle by talking about school and all the town shops. Occasionally I would see Olivia glance at Meyers but he would shake her off.

What the hell is up with this castle?

I Know it was an uneventful chapter but I really wanted to write some more.

What do you think is the big deal about the castle? Are Olivia and Meyers hiding something?

I'm really loving this book so far! I'll update ASAP!

Lots of love,

Kait xo
