After a while Johnny came back in the Church looking for something
"What are you lookin' for Johnnycake?" You asked Johnny as he looked around more
You could see the tips of his ears getting red
"A um.. uh" he mumbled walking and looking around
"An 'um uh?' " you asked teasing him
He looked at you with a slight smile
"No not THAT, a mirror, for Pony" he said looking away to look around again
"Look in the bathrooms... i'd bet theres luck in there.." you said jerking your head towards the way of the bathroom
"Oh.. duh..." Johnny mumbled
Walking over to the bathroom area
"Here it is" you faintly hear
him
He walked out with a squarish piece of mirror taking it out to where Pony stood outside
"You're welcome.." you said quietly getting up to follow him outside
"Hey pony, this will do it" Johnny said walking towards Pony with you in tow
"Here" Johnny stopped in front of Pony showing him the mirror
"Gee, this really makes me look tuff..." Pony said smoking a cigarette
"I think it Looks nice Pony" i said to him
He looks at me with a smile
"Yeah yeah (m/n)" Ponyboy said
"Alright" Johnny said putting down the mirror and getting our attention with the sound of him flipping out the switch blade
"Go ahead" Johnny continued
"Get your jollies"
"My Pleasure" Ponyboy said grabbing the knife out of Johnnys hand
"Yeah i know it is" Johnny said getting into a more comfortable position on the wooden fence poll he was sitting on
"Be nice" Johnny said as Pony huffed on the blade and smirked and proceeded to cut Johnnys hair off as Johnny hissed in pain
"It hurts ,don't it" Pony asked, mockingly
"Yeah, yeah.." Johnny said sucking up the pain, yet he couldn't help to let out more hisses of pain
"C'mon man, i didn't cut that much off you.." Johnny said
You looked at the bunny near the mirror
Staring at it as it stared you down, you narrowed your eyes at it, as if it felt threatened by that gesture it got on its hind legs with its teeth out
"It was your bright idea, smarty" Ponyboy fires back at Johnny
"Ow!" Johnny let out another whine
The Bunny ran off once Johnny got up from his position
"Alright man! I get it!" Johnny said rubbing his scalp as Pony and I giggled at Johnny
Johnny looked at you offended
"You think we have to do (m/n) too?" Ponyboy asks
"No... because i had nothing to do with it" i said standing up
"Yeah but whatever you've already got your face in the papers?" Johnny asked getting along with what Ponyboy was doing
You stood your ground
"What if the story it's self isn't even out yet? And how would my face get in the paper, the socs wouldn't even know me!" You said defensive
You knew what that pain was, cutting off your hair with a knife
"He's got a point Johnny" Ponyboy said walking over to the pond behind them
"Alright alright.." Johnny said following Ponyboy with you in tow
The two looked at their reflections in the pond
Johnny messes his hair up while Ponyboy stands in a cowboy stance
"Well, i guess we're disguised" Johnny said pulling off the same stance as Pony as he looks over at Ponyboy
Whats up with that stance, its boring..
"I guess so.." Pony mumbled
"I like 'em.." you said looking at the two
Pony sighed touching his hair
"Oh shoot man...its just hair" Johnny says also going to touch his hair
"Shoot nothing!" Pony snaps as Johnny puts his hand down fast looking at Pony and over to you really quick
"This ain't nothing. Its just like being in a Halloween costume you can't get out of an' i hate it!" Pony said in complete rage
"Well.. you gotta get used to it, Ponyboy..." you said getting in between them both, putting one of your hands on Johnnys shoulder and the other on Ponyboys
"You boys are in big trouble and its your looks or yourselves" you said as pony bends down grabbing a stick and throwing it in the pond in rage
We would all walk into the church after that and would start up a thing that would become a everyday routine for a week
You sitting up next to Ponyboy as the two slept
You couldn't sleep at all
Especially with that Owl up on the beams supporting that ceiling as it hoots every single second it got
You heard a noise outside that you looked towards said noise as Pony stirs awake from what you assumed, the noise
You both would look at the sound source
"(M/n)..." Ponyboy whispered
You hummed telling him you were listening
"Theres a monster outside..."
...
"What..." you looked at him dumbfounded
Ponyboy scoots towards you and lies his head on your thigh
"Its gonna be okay Ponyboy... i got you.." you said reassuring words as he hugged your thigh
"It'll be alright.." you said
You said affirming words till you thought he was asleep
You felt yourself slowly fall asleep as well
You'd finally sleep throughout the entire night

It would be noon be the time you had awoken to hear Ponyboy reading out of Gone With The Wind still lying his head on your thigh while Johnny was sitting next to you eating a sandwich with his head on your shoulder
"Lying in the pit of the sun, shoulder to shoulder, head to feet, with hundreds of wounded men, lying in the tracks, a sidewalk stretched out in endless rows, under the car shed." Pony read out loud
As Johnny took a drink out of the bottle of Coke
And continually eating his sandwich
"Some lay stiff and still, but many withered in the hot sun. Everywhere swarms of flies hovered over the men, crawling and buzzing in their faces" Pony said with a disgusted face on
"Man, thats gross" Johnny said looking over to Pony you faked sleeping before he looked over at you
Ponyboy continued to read out loud as you buzzed off into your mind
After a while Pony stopped reading getting up and started talking about capturing the bunny thats been hanging around the church
Johnny gets up from your shoulder and agrees both of the grabbing what they need to do it
You waited till you heard no sign of them
You opened your eyes stretching and getting up after doing so
"Youch... my thigh.." you said hissing in pain and rubbing you thigh
"How long did he stay on it..?" You asked yourself walking to the island and making yourself a sandwich
You took a couple of bites and decided to go see what the boys are doing
Abandoning the sandwich you walk out of the Church to see the boys chasing around the Bunny
You smiled
After a while of chasing the Bunny they noticed you and you just walked back into the church they both followed you in
"C'mon Pony lets play some cards" Johnny said holding up the box of cards he got pass up time
"Alright" Ponyboy said sitting in front of Johnny who started dealing
You grabbed Gone With The Wind and started off reading from where Pony stopped
They played for a while and you read nearly half of the book by the time they were done
You boys decided to chill out
Pony read off where you stopped as Johnny laid on the bench that you and Pony were sitting in front
Johnny fell asleep with a cig in his mouth dropping it
"Watch your smoke Johnny.." Pony warned Johnny and continued to read
This would be a routine of everyday
You and Johnny waking up before Pony, eating as Pony would later awaken, playing cards, reading, eating, chasing bunnys, getting no sleep.. you get the idea
But one day Pony would wake up early than usual
Ponyboy walked out of the Church to find Johnny and (m/n) outside watching the Sunrise
"Golly! That was sure pretty, huh?" Johnny broke the silence
"Yeah.." you said looking off at the sun rising
"Its like the mist its, whats pretty, you know? All gold 'n silver" Johnny said
"Mh-hm" you nodded
" 'ts too bad it can't stay like that all the time..." you said
Their was a brief silence
"Nothing Gold Can Stay" Pony broke it
"Huh?" Johnny looked back at Pony
You just kept looking at the Sun rise
"Natures First Green Is Gold, Her Hardest Hue To Hold, Her Early Leaf's A Flower, But Only So An Hour, Then Leaf Subsides To Leaf, So Eden Sank To Grief, So Dawn Goes Down To Day, Nothing Gold Can Stay"
