"Vee, Dais! We have to go shopping together!" Enid squealed when she found out they all three would be going to the Rave'n. "I want a really pretty dress!"
"Doesn't everybody want a pretty dress?"
"I don't," Wednesday spoke up from besides them. "That's why I'm not going to the dance."
"Nobody asked you?"
"As if anybody would dare ask her," Veronica scoffed slightly, "What? Don't look at me like that everybody is bloody scared of her, she scares away anyone who would ever ask her on a date!"
"With pleasure."
Daisy laughed awkwardly at their conversation and instead let her eyes wander over to Xavier who was talking with Ajax.
"Alright, so we're going shopping for a dress, would you like to come along Nes?"
"No."
"Right," the blonde nodded again, "Of course."
While Veronica, Daisy and Enid went shopping none of them had any idea what Wednesday was doing. She had gone to the sheriff's office and showed them a picture of the monster that Xavier had drawn. She thought he was the monster. She was going to get him arrested.
The day ended pretty soon after their shopping trip, Veronica decided she'd stay a little longer with Tyler while Enid and Daisy went back towards the school.
"So what? He just didn't turn up?"
"Nope," Enid sighed. She had been so excited for her date with Ajax, and Daisy knew he was too, but he hadn't shown. "Ghosted me or something."
"I'm sure he didn-"
"He did Daisy," Enid cut her off, "I know you're trying to be nice and you are! But don't sweet talk him, don't sugarcoat his actions. He ghosted me end of story, end of conversation."
The taller girl nodded her head silently and didn't speak again in their trip. It wasn't an awkward silence, it wasn't comfortable either, but it was just quiet. Nothing more.
Daisy walked off to find Xavier once they were back on the grounds, she searched every cornor and every curve of the castle, even going as far as entering the secret library, but she couldn't find him anywhere.
"Daisy-"
She spun around only to be met with the boy himself, "Xav-!"
"Did you help her?"
"What?"
"Wednesday, did you help her?" Xavier was obviously not in the mood for jokes and giggles, he was completely serious and held a stone cold expression.
"With what?"
"Going into my shed?" he asked, raising his voice slightly, "You thought I was the monster?"
"What?- No!" Daisy denied, she wrapped her hand around his wrist and pulled him away from the crowded hallway into a much quieter one, "She told me she needed my help with something so I said I'd help. When we walked towards your studio I tried to talk her out of it because it wasn't right. Then she told me her theories and I said she wass crazy, after that we walked in on you and we talked-"
"You said you believed me," Xavier interupted, "Do you still?"
"Of course!"
"Okay," he sighed, his shoulders dropped and his eyes sparkled again losing the hard facade and crushing the girl before him in a hug, "I don't know what I'd do if you didn't."
"We won't have to find out."
Daisy had left to get her dress on after that. Veronica and her had decided to get ready together in Daisy's room seeing as it was the biggest and just overall the better choice.
"I am so excited!"
Daisy laughed at her friend, "I know you are."
"I am going with Tyler, Tyler!"
"I know," Daisy said to her friend, mocking her by dragging all her words out as if she was talking to a toddler.
"But it isn't a date-"
"Girl-?"
"He didn't specifically say it was a date, I don't want to overthink it and like over do it and stuff you know?"
"No?" Daisy said questionably, "Dude, you're going to a dance with him. It is a date, if he hasn't outright stated it was as friends; it's a date!"
"But wha-"
"No! No what ifs, you like him he likes you. Get a move on!"
"It's not that smiple."
Daisy just laughed at her friend whilst looking at both of them in the mirror. "It is actually, but you're scared - understandable but unnecessary - and it holds you back."
"I am sccared shitless," Veronica said to her in a whisper now also looking at them in the mirror, "There is something about him I can't read, like I can read you, you're excited, happy but you're still a little bit scared. I know that, I can feel it. But with Tyler I don't. I can't read or feel his emotions like anyone else, it's nice from time to time. I can finally feel my own feelings, but I can't tell what he feels, if he likes me or finds me irritating. I just don't know."
Daisy sighed as she wrapped her arms around Veronica, they were still looking at theirselves in the mirror, "Well you look- we look stunning, if he doesn't make a move I will."
"You have a boyfriend Dais."
"And if I didn't?"
They bpth looked at eachother before bursting into laughter. They almost fell to the ground while tears spilled from their eyes but they collected themselves just in time to not ruin the make-up on their face.
"But honest, you look beautiful."
"So do you."
Daisy had the time of her life. She had been dancing with Xavier the hole night long, she had also danced a few times with Enid as well as Veronica. Even with Wednesday once she showed up, but she wasn't quite sure who her date was.
Ajax and his date, who obviously wasn't really loved by the group - they were still nice though-, had also joined at one point but when it get awkward between him and Enid they left to get a drink.
"I love it here!" Daisy shouted up at her boyfriend, trying to get him to hear her above the loud music.
"WHAT?"
"I LOVE IT HERE!!"
He smiled down at her before kissing her softly, making their friends whistle at them; Once they pulled away a large grin broke onto Daisy's face as she wrapped her arms again around his neck.
But the moment was ruined when red specks appeared on all their clothes. It turned out it was paint that someone had mixed with water and sprinkled from the firepipes. Even worse, it happened to be Enid's date who helped with it.
"My dress is ruined," Daisy mumbled to herself, Xavier was holding her right hand and tried dragging her off towards a ssafe place. Once they were almost there somebody knocked Daisy down making her lose her grip on Xavier.
"Flower!" he didn't waste a second to grab her and help her up, "You okay?"
"Yeah I'm-"
But her words were cut short as her head fell back and her eyes seemed to dissapear, they turned into two white holes almost.
"Daisy? Flower!-"
But she couldn't hear him shout as she wasn't there. She was standing in a forest, her body felt smaller and she was looking throught glaces. She tried seeing more than the forest but once the person began speaking she knew who it was.
Eugene.
out of nowhere somehting jumped before him, she recognized it. Xavier's drawings.
Eugene was in trouble, or was going to be.
"Eugene Ottinger. 2242 hours. Potential suspect has arrived at location."
She still had a few minutes. She needed to safe him.
When her eyes rolled back and her head snapped up she was met with a releaved Xavier asking her too many questions.
"I need to help Eugene. He's in trouble."
