"You wanted to speak with me?" She asked as the two of us sat on each side of the table.
I noticed how calm she seemed. Just a few weeks ago, she was glaring at me and had plenty of smart remarks.
"Yes, I did... I wanted to make amends if possible. I wasn't that nice to you when we were kids and I understand why you dislike me" I told her. She raised an eyebrow in questioning, something Cole did as well.
Before she could say anything the waitress came to the table. I ordered a salmon dish with a lemonade while she just got a cappuccino.
After the waitress walked away she then spoke, "Make amends? That seems suspicious... you sure this isn't about my brother avoiding you?" She asked. I couldn't tell if she was joking or not.
"Well... yes and no. I wanted to talk to you about that but I also wanted to see where we stood when it came to being friends" I admitted. I could tell that from the look on her face she didn't quite believe me.
"Friends... not sure how that's gonna go but alright. I don't mind trying it out. Let's start with my brother, what do you want to know?" Reyna asked.
"I doubt he's mentioned me recently but could you at least tell me what happened to make him the way he is now?" I asked her. She tilted her head slightly, seeming to be deep in thought.
"As far as the conversations we've had, you were not mentioned. He's been either focusing on the company or our younger siblings these past few weeks" She told me.
The last time I remember seeing Cole would be At Kayleigh's Christmas party. I don't really remember anything from that night... except for me embarrassing myself when he brought me home.
That next morning I had ran into the bathroom and felt as if I were going to die. My eyes were dry and my stomach felt like it was on fire.
I love you Cole.
Did I seriously say that? Or was that a dream?
"My brother is more like our father. He's not as hot tempered but he tends to shut himself down when it comes to feelings and emotions... it's not really my business to tell but he once had a relationship with Faith.
Long story short, she was just using him for future references like money and shit. Although you weren't using him for money, you still used him to try and kill our father.
He has trust issues. Hell, I do too. Our own uncle and grandfather wanted our mom dead, we were kidnapped! They probably wanted us dead too. Who wouldn't be fucked up after all of that?
But my brother is a big softy at heart, which is why I want to protect him. He may not look like it but he gets shy. He just cares too much for people, he always has." She spoke out with a small smile on her face as she played with the bracelet on her wrist.
I couldn't help but feel guilty. My heart felt as if it was being tugged at, I was no better than Faith.
"But even though it's been a while since he found out, he just needs time. You hurt him Orabella. Gaining his trust back won't be so easy" She spoke out.
The waitress then came back with our order, placing everything on the table before leaving.
"We were kids when that all went down. I was only upset because of what your father did... but now I know that I shouldn't blame you for his choices, thanks to my brother" Reyna spoke out before smiling at me.
"I thought you were going to be pissed" I laughed out before taking a sip at my drink.
"Oh I was. I wanted to beat the shit out of you like I did to Faith years ago. But you're not as bad as her, you at least own up to what you did" She admitted.
"Even though you wanted to kill my dad" She muttered out, eyeing me.
"Yeah... sorry about that"
She then laughed at how awkward I seemed, "It's alright. You're not the first who's wanted him dead. Sorry about biting you when we were kids" I couldn't help but laugh as I remembered that day.
"I didn't miss that school at all! They would merge our classes for no reason, we weren't even in the same grade" I spoke out, Reyna agreeing.
The two of us then talked with one another about a few things. Reyna told me about her modeling career, how fun it may seem but it's quite stressful.
She told me about what her and Cole were doing while they were in Italy. The two had been catching up with their family all while doing a few training sessions.
I guess that explains why Cole looks more muscular.
Just as I finished eating my food, Reyna's phone began to ring. "I have to go, Rome needs me to take him to practice. Plus I have to attend this event soon" She spoke out after she got off the phone.
We then both stood, leaving the money on the table before we were outside and departed. That went better than expected.

Tonight was Monica's turn with cooking so the two of us stopped by the grocery store. I only wanted something simple tonight.
Like spaghetti or lasagna.
"I think this is everything we need" I spoke out as the two of us continued walking down the aisle.
It wasn't too long before Monica scurried off to the other section, picking up random things to buy.
"I use to eat these all the time when I was a kid!" She exclaimed before throwing them in the basket.
"Monica do you really need those?" I asked. This is why I did majority of the shopping. If I leave it to Monica, she'll come back with a whole bunch of stuff that would never be used.
A small laugh from behind me had me turning around to see that it was Axarii, Cole's mother.
"Mrs. Knight, it's so nice to see you again!" Monica spoke out.
"Bella!" The familiar voice brought a small smile to my face as I saw Anna sitting in the cart. I looked at Axarii and saw that she had a warm smile on her face.
Wasn't she mad at me?
"How have you been Bella?" She asked me as I stood next to her, hugging Anna May.
"I've been alright... look I'm s-" I began but she shook her head.
"There's no need to apologize dear. You've been through a lot so it's understandable. Even though my son has been seeming a little down at times, I'm not here to take my anger out on you." She explained, patting my back.
"I missed you!" Anna spoke out as her eyes became teary. I found myself getting emotional as well.
This family...
"I missed you too Anna"
Axarii then grabbed what Anna was pointing at from the shelf, placing it into the cart, "You know, we're having a Christmas dinner soon. I think you should come"
"Oh... I appreciate the invite but I wouldn't want to bother your family, besides I'm sure Cole-" I began.
"Nonsense, you wouldn't be bothering us. Cole would want you to be there, and Monica is more than welcome to join us as well." She spoke out.
Before I could say anything Monica agreed, saying that we would be there. After the two exchanged numbers we walked towards the front to check out the items.
I couldn't help but sigh out, "Why did you have to say we'd come?" I asked her while she took everything out of the cart, grabbing her wallet.
"Whats wrong with us going? You've been dying to see Cole again, plus my parents went out of town again so I'd be all alone" Monica pouted.
"And there's gonna be free food" She added. I couldn't help but shake my head at her words.
"You've been eating a lot recently. Are you trying to gain some weight?" I asked.
A small laugh came from Monica before she handed her card to the woman.
I wasn't going to say anything but it looked like Monica had been gaining a little bit of weight. Just the other day I noticed that her stomach wasn't as flat when she tried on a new dress she bought.
Could she be pregnant?
I then shook my head at the thought. No, this is Monica we're talking about. She would've told me if she was.
It wasn't too long before the two of us made it to the car and started putting all of the bags in the back seat.
This is going to be a long week.
