Chapter 6: Around the School

"The Storybook of Legends?" I asked in confusion. Didn't they just get rid of it? Or was that some other kind of book? I'm so lost here. This is why I'm new to all of this. I had no idea what was going on.

"Yes, and we need to get it back," Lizzie stated.

"But wasn't that taken by Cheshire Cat?" I questioned.

"Yeah," Kitty muttered not entirely happy that her mom took the most important book in history. She looked down at her half-eaten muffin in shame. Or at least I thought it was shame. I couldn't entirely tell. I'm not a people reader like Alistair is.

"Doesn't matter, she probably doesn't even have it anymore." Bunny said. "It's possible that she could've given it to the Evil Queen."

"You don't know that for sure," Kitty said, trying to defend for her mother. I didn't blame her.

"Yeah, she probably still has it and is just looking through the book or something like that for guns and giggles." I added.

"Well, let's not get to conclusions." Alistair pitched in. "The book could be anywhere."

"Giles Grimm!" Maddie blurted.

"Huh?" I said. I'm even more confused. I wish people would tell me these things, but I didn't bother. If it's important they'll tell me and if not, well, oh well. I guess.

"Giles knows everything! Well, almost everything. But, he clearly does have the answer for just about every problem. He can solve it!" Maddie stated with a grin.

"Oh okay," I replied. "So I guess we just ask him for answers of the Storybook of Legends." Maddie nodded her head vigorously with a grin on her face.

"So let's go." Alistair said as he stood up from his chair abruptly.

"Not until tea time is over," Maddie said as she slurped onto her cup of tea. A few minutes later she finished her cup of tea and we all walked out of the shoppe. We headed back to the school and we went to the Headmasters office. Lizzie knocked on the door and we all walked inside.

"What is it?" Headmaster Milton Grimm asked looking between all of us questionably with a single brow raised.

"Giles, we need your help." Lizzie said as she walked forward closer towards the bother of Milton. He was slim and tall, a beard growing wildly from his chin with an unruly mustache. He seemed like a wonderful character.

"Yes?" Giles said.

"Do you know anything of where to find the Storybook of Legends?" Lizzie asked. Headmaster Milton Grimm gasped at the request.

"That book is none of your concern. Keep out of it as isn't any of your business. We're taking care of that anyways." Headmaster Milton said while giving us all a stern glare.

"We're sorry, sir." Bunny said with a frown. We all walked slowly out of the room and just followed Maddie. Kitty had POOFED away right after we were kicked out the room.

"So, now what do we do?" Alistair asked.

"We should just leave it up to them. After all, this isn't something we should butt in about. Even though we should be concerned, I don't think we should take action. After all, they did say that they were up to it." I answered.

"Hexellent point," Maddie said as she gave a short nod with a grin. We walked with Maddie and Lizzie. "Who's up for a tea party?" She asked.

"Actually, Izzy and I have some shopping to do since we came here unhexpectedly. Don't we, Izzy?" Bunny said as she elbowed my hip as if she was giving me a hint.

"Huh? Um, okay?" I said in confusion. "I guess I'll see you guys later."

"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" Lizzie shouted. I just smiled. I missed it when she talked like that. I missed her.

"Bye!" Bunny said while trying to pull me along with her.

"Wait, what about Alistair?" I asked as I turned my head to barely get a glimpse of my best friend who gave me a goodbye wave. I waved back. Bunny kept tugging me.

"It's me and you time," Bunny said. She kept dragging me along with her and it starting to hurt my arm from the way she was gripping so tightly. We were already half way out of the school when I stopped us from going any further ahead.

"Bunny, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing's wrong, I just want to hang out." Bunny said as she shrugged her shoulders. She and I never really hung out alone before. Alistair was always in the midst. This was a little unusual for her, but perhaps it was because we are in Ever After. Maybe that had something to do with it.

"Come on, you can tell me. We're best friends." I said. I walked her over to a park bench as we sat down as I scooted in beside her.

"It's just that, you don't want to spend much time with me." Bunny frowned.

"What? Bunny, we just got here! Our friends are here and we haven't seen them in years! Of course I want to spend time with them, but that doesn't mean I want to spend any less with you. Besides, we're roommates. We're living together now!" I said as I tried comforting her.

"Yeah, I guess you have a point." Bunny was still frowning. No, there's more to this. There's something she wasn't telling me.

"Bunny, there's more to this. Please tell me what's going on." I begged as I stared at her with pleading eyes. She always caved when I used my blue eyes against her.

Bunny let out a sigh as she looked away; she bit her lip nervously as she twiddled her thumbs around. She seemed hesitant as if she was trying to find her words. "I'm sorry, Isabella. . ."

I was in shock. She hardly ever used my name like that before. She never did this to me. Sure she would be distant from me plenty of times, but that was it. This had to be serious. What was going on with Bunny? The one who I knew everything about?

"It's okay," I muttered. "I won't force you to tell me. But just to let you know, I'll be here for you no matter what. I promise."

And with that, I walked away from one of my best friends. I felt really bad. I didn't know what to do. And actually, I felt worried for what was to become of one of my best friends.

I walked back into the school and decided to just look around, mostly because Sparrow didn't do a very good job today and I needed to find out where my classes were.

As I walked around, I did find some classes, but they weren't the ones that I was taking. Some sounded interesting, but never worth taking. Especially since there was several for the evil people. I continued looking around as I saw where a few of my classes were. I couldn't find them all but I didn't think it was so terribly bad.

But it was so strange. Every time I would walk somewhere a few boys would stare at me as I would go by. It made me feel uncomfortable as I would pass by them.

One of them even walked up to me and offered me to go on a date to this party that was happening tonight. Of course I said no. I didn't even know the boy. But, he kept pestering me on about it as he had seemed to be not giving up. And well, I wasn't giving in.

I didn't like all these stares from everyone so I just walked back to my dorm. I unlocked the room and went inside, only to find out that Bunny wasn't in here. Where could she have gone at this time?

I walked over to the balcony, and just decided to watch the beautiful outdoors of Ever After. It wasn't as wonderful as our home in Wonderland, but it still amazes me. It was quite remarkable how everything was so different from ours.

I had the perfect view of everything below. There was a wide opening of a field and trees that surrounded the area. You could see all the animals and the colorful plants that lived out in the forest. Everything was in peace.

I jumped out of fear when someone grabbed me from behind. I turned around to see Alistair and Bunny laughing. I frowned at the two in front of me who were messing around.

"You think that's real funny, don't you?" I said as I crossed my arms over my chest. They both stopped laughing, but they still had a big smile plastered on their face.

"Sorry, we just had to." Alistair said.

"We figured you would be here," Bunny stepped in. "We came to ask if you wanted to go to a party tonight."

"A party? I don't think I should go." I mumbled as I walked away from the balcony and into my room. I sat on the bed as I faced them.

"Why not?" Bunny asked.

"Just don't think I should," I shrugged my shoulders carelessly.

"Oh, come on. It'll be fun!" Bunny exclaimed with a toothy grin. I thought about it for a moment. Why should I go? I wasn't interested in the slightest. Sure, it would be good opportunity to make some friends, but I felt shy and nervous all of a sudden.

"Nah, I think I'll just stay here." I waved them off. They both frowned at me.

"Please?" Alistair begged. I shook my head at him as I turned away from him. "Please?" They kept repeating that word over and over and it was making me lose my temper.

"Okay!" I protested in annoyance. "I'll go to the stupid party!"

"Great, see you then." Alistair said with a smile as he walked out of the room. I gritted my teeth angrily. They got to me. . .
