Belling's Coffee House was pretty active for 4:12 p.m. on a Monday. Ray and Charlotte got there at 4:10 p.m., and went to the counter to order something to drink, so they could blend in.
"You got my message." A voice from behind them spoke in a hushed tone. The two of them turned around to be faced with Dylan. "No, turn back around, it can't look like I'm talking to you." They followed Dylan's orders and quickly went back to their original stance. "Where's Henry?" Dylan asked, noticing him missing from the pair.
"He's in the ManVan." Ray told Dylan, not looking back to him. "He said that Michael might know what he looks like."
"He does." Dylan told them. "Just wanted to make sure he was close. You are here to get Michael, right?" Dylan wanted to make sure that they were all on the same page.
"Yes, we are." Charlotte answered. "Henry can hear everything I'm saying, so when the time comes he'll come in as 'You Know Who'." Charlotte paused for a moment, listening to something before talking again. "Yes, Dylan is here."
"Is that Henry?" Dylan asked.
"Yes, he can hear me speaking to you." Their conversation had to come to and end due to Ray and Charlotte being called up next to order. Dylan stepped out of line, not really wanting anything for himself and sat down at one of the empty tables. Not long after, Charlotte sat down at a table next to him, Ray waiting for their drinks to be made at the counter.
"Can I ask you something?" Charlotte didn't look at Dylan when she spoke, keeping up the appearance that they couldn't be talking.
"Yeah, sure." Dylan replied, not looking at Charlotte either.
"Why did you call me to leave the message?"
"Because Michael doesn't know who you are." In that moment Ray sat down across from Charlotte, handing her what she ordered. However, Dylan didn't stop his explanation. "I was being watched. If I picked up the phone and said 'Hi, Henry' they would have known exactly who I was talking to. You, not so much."
"Well we better hope he doesn't know Charlotte." Ray spoke up. "Or else everything will not go down the way we want it to."
The door to the café could be heard being opened with the sound of a bell jingling. In walked Michael, alone. He was wearing a backpack, most likely carrying the plans inside. His eyes fixated on Dylan, who was staring right back at him. Michael made his way over to Dylan and sat in the seat across from him. Ray and Charlotte were quiet next to them, wanting to listen in on the conversation that was about to occur. From Charlotte's point of view she could see Dylan's face, and Ray was able to see Michael's. Ray watched from his peripheral vision as Michael reached into his bag and took out a stack of papers, setting them on the table.
"Can I ask why you wanted to do this here?" Dylan questioned Michael, glancing at the papers in front of him.
"Less suspicious." Michael answered. "Who expects this at a café?" Michael started separating the papers in front of them, creating different piles for different things. Neither Ray or Charlotte could do anything at this point, as they didn't have evidence yet that Michael actually brought the plans they were looking for. He had to say it in order for them to jump in.
"What is all this?" Dylan scanned the documents more thoroughly.
"Different plans. I don't just have one, you know." Dylan didn't know. He thought Michael had only one plan. Not that Dylan was complaining; the more time Michael spent ruminating on this, the more evidence there was against him. Dylan knew that he would have to get Michael to say, out loud, what the plans were actually for in order to start something.
"And these plans are, what exactly?" Dylan leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.
"What do you mean?" Michael looked at him confused.
"I just, don't understand why there are so many. What are each of them for?"
"They're just different variations of the main plan."
"The main plan being?"
"What are you talking about? You know what the main plan is."
"It's just, how far are you willing to go?"
"I want to kill my father." Bingo. Dylan heard Michael say it. Ray heard him say it. Charlotte heard him say it, and she was talking, not to Ray, but to Henry.
"Alright then." Dylan stood up from his seat and leaned over his and Michael's table. "Have fun with that."
"What?" Before Dylan could answer Michael, Kid Danger busted through the café doors, everyone's eyes now on him. Ray found a way to quietly get out of the establishment, so he could come in again, but this time as Captain Man.
"Michael!" Kid Danger shouted, walking over to him and forcefully lifting him out of his chair.
"You are working with them!" Michael's attention was on Dylan. "You lied to me!"
"Wouldn't be the first time." Dylan replied, earning a gasp from Michael.
"You're coming with me." Kid Danger told Michael.
"Oh I don't think so." Michael trashed around in Kid Danger's grasp and was able to get out of it. He immediately entered a fight with Kid Danger, trying to land a punch anywhere he could. Once Michael's arm was extended, Kid Danger grabbed hold if it and flipped Michael onto the ground. Michael didn't give up, as he swept his leg on the ground, knocking into Kid Danger's feet, landing him on the ground as well. Some time during the fight, Dylan left the café, running into Ray who was now in uniform. The two of them entered the coffee house at the same time, seeing both Michael and Kid Danger on the ground. They exchanged a glance and a head nod before going over to the others.
Captain Man helped Kid Danger off the ground at the same time that Michael got up. He was going to lunge himself forward and try to take out both superheroes before someone else stepped forward. Dylan, who wasn't in his usual Midnight outfit, pulled a large metal chain from behind him. He snapped the chain forward, it wrapping itself around Michael, pinning his arms to his side, immobilizing the upper half of his body. Dylan held onto one end of the chain, using it like a leash. He pulled on the chain, causing Michael to spin forwards and land his back into Dylan's chest.
"I'll tell everyone who you are." Michael knew that the mystery man was Dylan, as not many people can just produce weapons out of nowhere.
"Do it." Dylan whispered into Michael's ear. "Do it. See what happens." A threat.
"Is that so?" Michael didn't think much of the threat, thinking that Dylan wouldn't really do anything with it.
"It would be so poetic, wouldn't it be?" Dylan whispered.
"What do you mean?" Michaels confidence in Dylan wavered.
"I've never killed anyone before. So my first victim being my ex-boyfriend? Poetic."
"You wouldn't."
"Wouldn't I? You know damn well I'm capable." Dylan pulled on the chain, causing it to construct tighter around Michael. "You know I'd do anything to make sure no one knows. And I mean anything." That was true, and Michael knew it. The chain around him got tighter to the point where Michael could swear some of his ribs broke. He kept his mouth shut.
The police entered the café, taking in the sight. Captain Man and Kid Danger were standing next to some guy who had another guy wrapped up in a chain. Dylan pushed Michael forward, towards the police, and off of his chest, spinning him around again, the chain unraveling from his body. Michael ended up in the arms of one of the police officers, as the other handcuffed him. Captain Man walked over to the officers, engaging in a conversation with them.
"This is the boy I was telling you about." Captain Man said to one of the officers.
"The one who wants to kill his dad?" The officer asked back.
"Yes." With Captain Man's reply, Kid Danger came up with papers in his hands.
"Here are all the documents relating to his plans." Kid Danger handed the papers to the police officer, who thanked him in return.
Dylan watched from where he stood back, not wanting to get close. The entire time Michael's eyes were on him, nothing behind them. Dylan couldn't tell if Michael would tell anyone or not, and the thought scared him.
He would have to wait and see. But for now, Belling's Coffee House needed to be cleaned up. The place was a mess.
