"Kai! No!"
"Wait Taehyun-" Soobin tried stopping the boy but his sluggish moves made him slower than he had estimated.
Taehyun ran as fast as he could towards the familiar figure, not realizing he's diving head first into a dangerous situation.
"No! Leave him alone!" Taehyun screamed, cries threatened to come out the back of his throat. Not caring for the armed men surrounding him.
The man yanked Taehyun by his arm, stopping him from reaching Kai, he placed the gun under Taehyun's chin.
"Where did that parasite come from?"
Soobin felt the adrenaline flowing through his veins, him and Yeonjun got to the scene a few seconds after, Beomgyu right behind them.
Yeonjun looked around, his eyes fixing on the familiar man holding Taehyun at gun point.
"Drop your weapon" Soobin loaded his gun, he had approximately 4 bullets, he calculated. One for each person, a forth one to spare, not too bad, not so good either.
"Dad...?" Yeonjun said, his voice showcasing an emotion the boy's have never heard before. Hatred.
The statement caused everyone to freeze in their place.
"Hyung... what-"
"Never thought I would have to see you again. My faggot of a son..." the man spat in disgust.
Soobin connected the dots in his head, getting an answer to why the man's face was so familiar to him.
"What are you doing dad?" Yeonjun asked, his voice almost too sad as the discovery of his dad working for the people who took Kai.
"Making money, business is business kid" his father loaded the gun, ready to shoot Taehyun. "But you always had problems mixing business and personal right?" He smiled.
Soobin was having non of that, knowing how much of an impact Yeonjun's dad had on him when he and Yeonjun first met.
Soobin dared looking at Yeonjun for a second, noticing the tears brimming in his eyes.
"Drop the gun and step away from my friend" Soobin said again.
"And you... aren't you a piece of disgrace. Making your whole family go down, just for your own benefit..."
"Shut up" Soobin's hand shook against the gun.
"Am I hitting a sensitive spot?" He gripped Taehyun harder, making the younger whimper in his hands. Taehyun looked at Kai, who was in the middle of the scene. His heart strings pulled at the sight.
Kai laid on the ground, panting and gasping for air, his hands and legs in chains.
Taehyun recalled how the younger looked under the man's legs, like a wounded prey.
Taehyun wanted to call him, ask him if he was okay. Taehyun wanted to hold his body close to him, wipe his tears away. Make him feel safe, and loved, and cared for. He wanted to do all of that. All it took to make Kai happy. But could he really do it? When kai has been hurt so much..
Can Taehyun heal his scars? Make him forget the bad things... delete his painful memories away...
Taehyun wanted to see what Kai's smile looked like. even better, what his laugh sounded like.
The gun pressed deeper into his jaw pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Let him go dad.." Yeonjun voice indicated that he had little to no energy to handle his father. After leaving 6 years ago, he never thought he'd see that man again.
"Why should I?" His father spat emotionless, signaling his men to load Kai into the van, where the built in cage was at.
"Don't touch him!" Taehyun yelled protectively despite being in the armed man's hold.
The guards paid no attention to him, picking Kai up by his chains, his body looking awfully limp.
"No!" Taehyun squirmed in the man's hold, trying to stop the guards. "Let him go!" He screamed.
"Taehyun. Stop." Soobin's stern voice was enough to make Taehyun take his eyes of Kai. Finally fully aware of the situation he's in, he let out a fear filled sob.
"Hyung.... he's going to kill me.." Taehyun Sobbed.
Soobin took his eyes away from Taehyun, his grip on the gun no longer shaking. Taehyun's teary voice echoing in his mind. No one is going to threaten his baby brother and get away with it. He looked at Taehyun's face, fat tears ran down his cheeks and Soobin couldn't be angrier.
But he had to keep his cool. No fight can be won if you're not clear in the head.
Soobin tapped Yeonjun's leg, earning a nod from the older. Beomgyu took notice to the slight nod, going into position along with the two.
Soobin waited for an opening, getting it when the man looked down at Taehyun, readjusting him.
Soobin took his chance, firing his first bullet at one of the car tires.
"Go!" He yelled to Beomgyu and Yeonjun who both lunged at the two guards who finished settling Kai in his cage.
"What-" the man yelled at the commotion, a smoky gas leaked out of the van making the scene foggy.
"Hyung....." Taehyun cried, his shoulders bruising at the strength the man holds him.
"You didn't notice your gun was empty didn't you?" Soobin took a few steps closer to the man, radiating power over him.
Pretend soobin, make him think you're in control. Do it for them. Do it for Taehyun. Don't be weak.
"What.." the man double checked his gun, big mistake on his part. Soobin hurriedly fired his next bullet at the man's shoulder, causing him to drop Taehyun to the ground and clutch at his shirt, deep crimson seeped through the fabric.
Taehyun waisted no time, sprinting to the van like his life dependent on it.
"Kai-ah!" He opened the door, his vision blurred with tears but he didn't care, he needed to see Kai, to get him out.
Kai was in his cage, his head hung low and his wrists chained above his head onto the cage's ceiling.
"Are you okay..?" Taehyun asked, his voice came out strained as he held down another sob. "Kai... please.." he banged on the metal bars, slamming his fists at the lock. He's so close yet Taehyun cannot reach him.
A loud bang came from their left side, Soobin's third bullet.
"I'm sorry..." Taehyun cried as he clutched onto the bar. "I'm sorry I can't break the locks, I'm sorry I left you alone, I'm sorry the world is so cruel, I'm sorry you're hurt. I'm sorry..... I'm sorry" he wailed, a pitiful sob followed.
He slamming his fist on the lock in frustration, tears filled his vision when kai wouldn't answer him, not that he could even if he wanted to.
"W-will you f-forgive me? P-please forgive me... " Taehyun voice broke, along with a piece of his heart when he saw the younger wasn't responsive.
"Does it hurt a l-lot? Are you in pain?"
Groans and loud thuds came from outside the van but Taehyun couldn't give less fucks about anything but Kai.
One more shot was fired, then silence. Soobin's forth and last bullet.
Followed by three more. Consecutive and loud.
Kai's head suddenly lifted up as he started squirming violemtly against his chains. The metal strings brushing together creating an uncomfortable sound.
Not too many seconds passed before he started panting, and letting out suffocated sounds.
"Kai!" Taehyun banged again, horror painting his face as he looked at the boy in distress, unable to help him
Kai pulled on his chains, hard enough to make one of the metal cuffs cut into his skin.
"You're hurting yourself!" Taehyun cried out, not noticing his own hand bleed at the many times he tried breaking the lock open.
"Kai please..." ........
"I got the keys! Move!"
