Adrianna's mom bites her lip, and looks up at her daughter. "When is the vacation planned for?"
"Two weeks from now."
"Ok, and how long is it for?"
"Three weeks."
Adrianna's mom winces. "Yikes. Sorry, sweetheart. I have an important business meeting in the middle of those weeks. Plus, I can't miss that much work."
Adrianna sighs. "Oh. Ok, well, I guess that's alright. I'll find someone else."
Once her mom leaves her room, she decides to text the group chat with Olivia and Maddie.
Groupchat:
Adrianna: Guys! I need your help!! Can any of you go on a three-week vacation to Hawaii? We have to leave in 2 weeks.
Olivia: There's no way my mom would let me do that😞
Adrianna: Well, can you ask anyway??
Olivia: I guess...
Adrianna: Ok. Maddie, are you on here?
Maddie: Hi, sorry, I just got back from a dentist appointment.
Adrianna: It's ok. Just read my text above.
Maddie: I mean, it sounds fun, but I can't go.
Adrianna: What, why not?
Maddie: Cause I have an important photo shoot that first day.
Adrianna: You can't skip it?
Maddie: No, sorry, Adri. I've been planning that for months!

Olivia: Yeah, my mom said, "No way!"

Adrianna slams her phone down, frustrated that no one is able to go with her. She doesn't want the vacation to go to waste.

She hesitantly picks up her phone and calls him.
"Michael? Hello?" Adrianna asks.

She rolls her eyes. "Uh, not the best."
Huh, what's wrong?
"Well..." Adrianna starts. "Is there any way you would be down to go on a vacation to Hawaii with me? It lasts less than a month."
NO WAY YOU ASKED ME!
Adrianna rolls her eyes again, this time with much more emphasis. "Well, uh- " she mutters. "I definitely asked a lot of people before you, but-"
YESSSS! YES, of course I'll go with you!!
She winces. "Uhm, great," she says sarcastically. "Sooo excited!"
ME TOOOOO! WOOOO! We're gonna have the best. time. ever!!
"Yeah, ahah. Woo!" she says with little excitement.
Wait. Isn't Hawaii, like- the island of love or something?
Adrianna makes a face. "Um, no?"
Yeah, I feel like it's something. Like, the city of love?
"No, that's Paris. And Hawaii is a state, not a city."
Oh, hehe, I knew that.
"Sure you did," she mutters. "Anyway, we leave in two weeks, so be ready. Our flight is pretty early."

She hangs up the phone and puts her head in her hands.
