After days of working to move and unpack everything I owned, the house was still mainly filled by the furniture and other decorations Mirai had left behind. The need to change it never crossed my mind though, especially since I'd only ever really spend the time between terms here. However, I was now left with nothing to do and even with the break being long over due, I couldn't help but feel bored.
I flopped back onto the couch, beginning to eat my cereal but as soon as I had the spoonful in my mouth a knock sounded on the front door. Plonking my spoon in the filled bowl and pushing that to the table as I got up, not even caring for the lounge clothes I wore. Opening the door made me regret not changing out of the large top and baggy shorts.
Shota chuckled "Eri wanted to see you and it looks like if we had come any sooner you wouldn't have come to the door." I rolled my eyes "Punctuality and holiday, two words that don't really go together. Now, come on in Eri, I don't know if I want to invite Mr No Fun in." Eri laughed and rushed inside, I then waved as I closed the door but it wouldn't budge, I looked up at him and he leaned down, his hand on the door he had opened further "Now is that anyway to treat your co-worker?" I just raised an eyebrow "I could ask you the same Mr Space Invader!" A smile cracked through the emotionless mask, as he then leaned the whole way and kissed my forehead "It's good to see you... How have you been?" I smiled and quickly hugged him, his arms wrapping around me in response "I think the more important question is how's the new father doing?" He let out a breath "You're more important, but I am good... Eri is no trouble compared to some people I have taught." I rolled my eyes and stepped away from him to see the smug expression he wore.
I decided to ask "How does our relationship stand with Eri?" His smugness quickly changed to confusion and I could see anger flash through his eyes, I smiled "Oh, don't get me wrong Shota, I love Eri more than you, but adoption is a big thing. What I meant was, are we letting her know about us?" He let out a breath before shaking his head "When the court legalised me as her father her progress took a step back. When I eventually got her to open up she told me how she didn't wish to repeat what she had done to her father, to me... I don't want to add our relationship and make her see you as a mother, someone that previously placed her in the hands of-" I quickly put my hand up "Sho, you don't have to explain your decision to me, she is your daughter now and I have no right to disapprove of your choices when it comes to her." He shook his head, then placing a hand on my cheek "If anything you should be able to, because you are definitely more fit to be a parent than me. You love helping anyone no matter their age, after all, you did help in the upbringing of several children." I smiled.
"Hanako did most of it, and anyway, don't put yourself down. You're a great teacher and you're even better when it comes to Eri." He let out a breath, rubbing his thumb up and down upon my cheek "Why must you make me blurt all of my feelings... I didn't want to hurt you by just saying no. I know how much you love Eri and how much you wish to be with your mum, so much so you'd wish for people to have family at your own expense." I quickly wrapped my arms around him "Thank you Sho!" He hummed before stepping back "We best go find her, who knows what she's up to." I nodded and lead the way, we ended up the lounge where Eri was sat watching a blank TV whilst eating my cereal. I shrugged it off and asked "As your drop in was unexpected, is there anything you'd like to do today?" Eri quickly cheered "Can we go to the beach? Aizawa was saying how we might be able to go because you live by one!" I nodded before pointing to her "That's not a bad idea, I've been meaning to explore but got cooped up in here. Do you have any beach wear?" Eri quickly nodded, then swallowing the large mouthful she had "Yep, Aizawa said that if I wanted to go then I would need a swimming costume!" I hummed.
"Why don't we all go get changed then so we're beach ready?" She jumped off the couch and quickly went over to Shota, grabbing his hand and pulling.

Upon getting changed myself, I found Eri and Shota stood in my lounge in different clothes, Eri was wearing a red one piece swimming costume that had thrills around the waist in a darker red, with a pair of pink flip flops on her feet. Shota then wearing a black tank top with white shorts, pink flip flops also adorning his feet. "Awe, I feel left out now, both of you have pink flip flops and I've got a pair of sandals... Somewhere." Eri then grinned whilst glancing between me and Shota. Shota then saying "Oh, not to worry, Eri was very insistent on us buying you a pair, so we all match!"
"Really!?" Shota blinked, as if he was expecting another reaction "Yep." He then brought out a pair of pink flip flops from behind his back, I jumped forward and quickly took them, then putting them on "Thank you Eri! I think I have a new favourite pair of shoes!" Her grin somehow got wider before she jumped up "Come on, can we go now?" I nodded before offering out my hand, she jumped towards me and took my hand "What do you want to do at the beach?"
She rubbed her chin with her free hand as we began to walk "I don't know, what can we do?" I hummed "Well, we can build sandcastles, swim in the sea... Sunbathe." She nodded along to everything I said "Can we build sandcastles?" I looked down to her and smiled "We sure can! Did you and Aizawa buy any beach stuff whilst getting your swim costume?" She nodded quickly "Yep, we got two spades and one sandcastle mold, three beach towels, and sunscreen!" I nodded "Then we have everything we need!"
Shota then huffed from behind us "The we could help me carry all of this." I looked over my shoulder to see him juggling all the stuff he held, particularly with the towels being under his arms, I laughed a bit before looking forward "I think you're doing just fine on your own!"
After a while of making sandcastles and running to and away from the tide, Eri went with Shota to get a drink. A woman then came up to me "Is he hurting you?" I looked away from watching Eri and Shota to face the woman, I shook my head "No." She didn't look convinced so I quickly said "I'm just her babysitter, we got caught in a villain fight one day, hence the confusion." She nodded slowly, before giving a very faint smile "Ah, alright, as long as you say you're both okay." I hummed, beginning to become uncomfortable with her pressing for an answer that would confirm her theory. "Sorry for the confusion, I'm just going to go back to them now." She nodded and I quickly turned, speed walking to reach the duo that had begun to walk away from the beach hut.
Once I reached them Shota offered out a donut but Eri quickly said "I want to give it to her!" Shota moved his arm around so she could take the donut and she then offered it out to me, I smiled and took it "Thank you!" I then wiped my fingers over her lips to remove the discarded sugar from the donut she must have eaten on her travels, she grinned before asking "Can we make sandcastles again?" I nodded, then making my way over to the beach towels we had laid out.
Eri had asked Shota to join in but as he didn't have a spade he was using his hands to scoop sand into the mold, but eventually he laid back on his beach towel and was now asleep. I whispered to Eri "I think we should punish him for backing out of making sandcastles with us." She looked away from the many sandcastles to me, she tilted her head and whispered "How would we do that?" I smiled and began putting sand on top of him. I then whispered "Let's bury him!" I smiled and she returned it before beginning to shovel sand on top of him. As we piled sand on top of him me and Eri spoke about what we had been up to during our time away from UA.
"Aizawa is happier with you around Y/n!" I looked over to Eri and tilted my head "Why do you say that?" She looked away from watching the sand she was shoveling to look at me "He's more talkative..." She then glanced between me and Shota for a bit before screaming and standing up, I looked to Shota to see he was awake, I quickly shot up and grabbed Eri, then running. "Oh, I'll get you two for this!" I looked over my shoulder to see him chasing us.
Eventually he caught up and got hold of me, then lifting me off the ground, I squealed in shock as Eri laughed. He was then walking us towards the sea, before we were all in the water and he let me go and I fell into the water completely. I quickly stood up and made sure to hold Eri so she was out of the water. We all laughed, Shota being the first to get over the laughter "I think it's time we head back now!" Eri quickly wrapped her arms around me "No, I don't want to leave Y/n!" I smiled and looked down towards her "If you want, and Aizawa will allow, you can stay with me!" Her eyes lit back up before asking "Can Aizawa stay with us as well?" I hummed and rocked my head from side to side "I don't know, weren't you just saying moments ago that he was a party pooper?" She laughed and loudly said "No! I didn't say that!" I hummed before shrugging "I suppose he can stay as well then!" She cheered and I looked towards Shota, he was looking off to the side and smiling. He obviously felt me looking as he turned his head and nodded "I think I'd like that!" I smiled as Eri did before she raised her arm into the air "Let's go!" I smiled and repositioned her so she was under my arm "Up, up, and away!" She kept the superman pose as we moved out of the water and over to our beach towels which we then used to dry off, Shota stealing mine as we had covered his in sand.
