For lunch, Denji, Power, Aki, and Himeno were eating at the ramen shop (Y/N) worked at.
Himeno: Yum! I love your ramen, (Y/N)!
Power: Tis very good.
(Y/N): <laughing> Thank you.
Off in the distance, some weird noises were heard. Almost like gunshots.
Denji: Wuzzat noise?
Power: You don't know? What a fool... Tis the sound of taiko drums.
Aki: A festival?
He looked at Denji and Himeno.
Aki: Did you two truly not copulate yesterday?
Himeno: Denji's actually quite the genetleman!
An older man with black hair was sitting at the table next to them. He stared at his bowl of ramen.
???: I can't believe you can eat the ramen here... Doesn't it taste terrible?
Himeno: Who's he?
Denji: Tastes great to me!
Power: Don't speak to me so familiarly!
???: I see you can't judge the quality of flavors. You can't help it though. If you only eat the same flavors in your childhood, apparently your palate will be unrefined as an adult. Having an unrefined palate lowers happiness.
Power: Hey, I'm happy!!
Himeno: I don't know what you're blabbering about, but my friend made that ramen! There's no way it's bad!
(Y/N): Is there something wrong with the ramen, sir?
???: My granddad was the kindest man in the world. He fed me good at expensive restaurants. He was Yakuza, but he was a Yakuza with principles... People like my granddad, maybe you'd call them...a necessary evil. I'm told he only killed a handful of women and children. He'd buy me anything I wanted with the drug money... He was a true Tokyo-ite and a good man who eeeverybody loved... You loved him too, didn't you, Denji?
He took out a picture with the man as a child. An old man was holding his shoulders.
(Y/N): What are you talking about?
Denji: I don't know what you're getting at...
He furrowed his eyebrows.
Aki slowly stood up, moving in front of (Y/N).
Aki: You know him?
The man reached into his coat, glaring at Denji.
???: The Gun Devil says it wants your heart.
Before anyone could react, he pulled out a gun and shot Denji in the head. He moved to shoot (Y/N), but Aki pushed him out of the way just as he was shot in the arm. Himeno didn't move fast enough and was shot in the chest.
Power, however, moved in front of the man with incredible speed and socked him in the jaw, causing him the drop the gun.
Power: Topknot!!
Aki made a hand sign and shot (Y/N) an apologetic look.
Aki: Kon!
A gigantic fox head appeared and swallowed the man, pretty much destroying the restaurant in the process.
(Y/N) stared at his surroundings, too shocked to move. He looked at Denji, who wasn't moving. He had to be dead. He turned to Himeno, who was gasping for air. Blood was leaking from her mouth.
(Y/N): Himeno...
He stood up and rushed over to her, not caring that the restaurant he worked at for years was just destroyed.
He started hyperventilating as he looked at Himeno, trying to decide what to do.
The Fox Devil turned its eyes to Aki, who was staring at the two, frozen.
Fox Devil: Aki Hayakawa... You've put something monstrous in my mouth... It is not human or devil...
Suddenly, a giant katana emerged from the fox's mouth, cutting it open. The man slowly rose out of it, but he looked totally different. A giant katana was sticking out of his head and two other katanas were protruding from his hands. His face was monstrous.
(Y/N) looked at the man and fell to the ground.
(Y/N): W-What the hell... <thinking> He's kind of like Denji...
Aki turned to face the man and started drawing his sword.
Aki: Power, stop Himeno's bleeding.
He pulled the hilt out of the sheath, revealing a long spike.
Aki: <thinking> Sorry, (Y/N). This is the only way I can fight him.
Power moved over to Himeno and placed her hand on the wound. (Y/N), meanwhile, felt like he couldn't move. He just kept his eyes on the devilish man.
Said man charged towards Aki and slashed at him horizontally with one of his katanas. However, Aki slid under it and jumped to his feet, pointing his sword at the man's back.
Aki: Fire!!
The spike pierced the devil man, who stumbled forward. He looked back at Aki and slashed at him again.
Aki ducked and moved behind the devil man again.
Aki: Fire!
Once again, the spike pierced the devil man, who thrashed and spun around to face Aki.
The black haired male lunged at the devil man, weapon pointed.
Aki: Fire!
He stabbed the man in the stomach. The man suddenly kicked Aki into a pile of rubble.
???: I've had enough of that creepy thing.
Aki: Curse!! Finish it!!
(Y/N) watched in shock as the man started floating in the air. In a split second, he was on the ground, limp with blood pooling around his broken body.
(Y/N): What was that...?
Aki hurried over to (Y/N).
Aki: Are you okay? Sorry I had to destroy your job.
(Y/N): I-It's fine... I think... What happened?
The black haired male knew there was no point in trying to hide anything.
Aki: I had to use the sword. I'm sorry, (Y/N). It was the only way.
The (S/C) skinned male shook his head and closed his eyes.
(Y/N): <shaking> Fuck...
He looked up at the sky before turning back to Himeno.
(Y/N): What about Himeno?!
The two boys looked at Himeno whose head was lying on Power's legs. The fiend had her hand over her wound.
Power: She needs a doctor, fast.
Aki stared at Himeno, sweating. His voice was shaky.
Aki: That guy had a gun. Even though they're impossible to obtain in Japan, unless you're a police officer or a Devil Hunter...
(Y/N): That guy did mention the Gun Devil if I recall...
Aki: First, we'll get Himeno medical treatment, and then take (Y/N) home.
A woman appeared behind the two boys.
???: Your Curse Devil... Run someone through with that spike enough times and they'll die. Is that the gist of it? Nice moves on your part.
(Y/N) and Aki turned to look at her.
Aki: Where did you come from? Are you with him?
The woman knelt down and pulled the man's lifeless body to his feet.
Aki/(Y/N): <shocked> Wha...?
The girl looked at the man.
???: Why'd you lose?
The man looked down, ashamedly.
???: I had my guard down. I really had my guard down.
The girl stared at Aki.
???: Well, get on with it. Kill him.
The katana man lunged forward at Aki, passing him. Before Aki could turn, blood shot out of his chest. He had been slashed.
Aki fell onto his knees, in too much pain to even scream.
(Y/N): Aki!!!
The woman looked at the wounded hunter.
???: He's still alive. The Devil Hunters' suits are sturdy. Finish him off. And that random civilian too.
(Y/N) flinched and watched as the katana man slowly turned and stared down at him.
(Y/N): <thinking> I don't know what to do. Himeno and Aki are both seriously injured. Denji's dead. If I run, I get killed. If I stay still, I get killed. Am I really going to die...?
Himeno grunted as she sat up.
Himeno: <to Power> Forget about me... Save Aki and (Y/N)...
Power: <sweating> There's no way! I didn't even see that guy move!
Himeno felt her devil's presence next to her.
Himeno: Ghost!
Ghost Devil: I don't want to. That girl... She's scary...
Himeno covered her mouth and coughed up blood. She felt dizzy.
She stared at Aki and (Y/N). The katana man loomed over the latter.
Himeno: <shaky> Ghost, I'll give you all of me...so let me use all of you...
The Ghost Devil appeared in front of the katana man, blocking him from (Y/N).
(Y/N): Huh?
Himeno slowly stood up. She held out her right arm and the Ghost Devil's many arms shot at the katana man.
(Y/N) turned around and watched Himeno. His eyes widened when her right arm disappeared.
She held up her other arm and the devil continued to attack the man, who started screaming in pain.
That's when her other arm disappeared.
(Y/N) stood up and ran over to her, catching her body.
(Y/N): <shaking> Himeno!!
She trembled in his arms. She saw Aki stare at her, horror written all over his face. She couldn't bear to look at (Y/N)'s face.
Himeno: D...Don't you die, Aki... Cuz... when I die... I want you to cry...with (Y/N)... You have to tell him soon... You know that, right?
(Y/N): <tearing up> Himeno!!
Himeno: (Y/N)... Pull the cord on Denji's chest...
(Y/N): Huh?
Himeno: Please... (Y/N)...
The male looked at Denji's body. He noticed the cord sticking out of his shirt.
Himeno: <smirking> Take care of Aki...for me...
The unknown female held up her hand.
???: Snake. Swallow it whole.
A humongous snake appeared out of nowhere and devoured the Ghost Devil, saving the katana man.
As the woman ordered the snake to return, Himeno completely disappeared in (Y/N)'s arms, leaving only her clothes and eyepatch behind.
Aki couldn't say anything as he stared at the clothes and (Y/N), who started crying.
(Y/N): <crying> No... No, please...
The katana man regained his balance and looked at the scene in front of him.
???: The fiend ran for it...
The female walked up next to him.
???: Our target is Chainsaw's heart. We don't need to pursue.
(Y/N) remembered what Himeno told him and shot up.
He rubbed his eyes and ran over to Denji's body. He quickly pulled on the cord. The revving of a chainsaw was heard.
When (Y/N) looked up, the katana man was above him, ready for the kill.
(Y/N) jumped back, landing on his ass. The katana man simply charged forward, slashing at the (H/C) haired male with his katana hand.
That's when a chainsaw parried it. Denji was back up in his chainsaw form.
Denji: I don't really get what your deal is, but I think I can safely say you jerks are bad guys. I love me some bad guys. Cuz nobody's gonna complain when I murderize 'em!
???: I'll put you down a second time.
The two started a fight, distracting the mystery female.
(Y/N) sat on the ground, shocked that he had been forgotten. Then again, they weren't after him.
He slowly stood up. His mind was all over the place. He saw Aki slowly crawl over to Himeno's clothes.
(Y/N) hurried over to him. He grabbed his shoulders.
(Y/N): Aki, we need to get you to a hospital now!!
Aki reached out for Himeno's clothes.
Aki: Himeno...
(Y/N) closed his eyes and shook his head. He couldn't cry right now. Aki needed help.
Still, the tears came. He choked back a sob and helped Aki up.
Aki: (Y/N)...
He was in shock. He couldn't process what had just happened. It all happened so quickly too.
(Y/N): We need to get you out of here.
The male slung one of Aki's arms around his shoulder. He took one step and glanced at Himeno's clothes.
He picked up Himeno's eyepatch and started slowly bringing Aki down the staircase that wasn't damaged, thank god.
Aki hissed in pain every time they descended a step. (Y/N) kept muttering apologies while wiping his wet eyes.
When they reached the first floor, no one was in there. (Y/N) hoped that his boss and the other staff members had made it out. He was the only worker on the second floor at the time.
(Y/N) decided to use the back door that led into an alleyway, because he didn't know if there were some other people in league with the katana man. He just didn't want to take that chance.
Aki: <in pain> (Y-Y/N)...
(Y/N) sniffled and continued walking through the alleyway. It would eventually lead to a busy street. Hopefully someone would be able to call an ambulance when they saw the pair.
When the two emerged from the alleyway, there was a crowd of people. They probably heard the commotion from the ramen shop.
Gasps and shrieks were heard when the people spotted (Y/N) and Aki.
(Y/N): P-Please! He needs help!! If he doesn't get it soon, he'll d-die!!
He was full blown sobbing now, and he probably looked like a complete fool, but he didn't care at this point.
The full weight of what just happened hit him, and he could no longer control himself.
A few people ran over to the pair and started helping them. A couple of people grabbed Aki, slinging his arms over their shoulders, while some others went over to (Y/N).
The (H/C) haired male couldn't hear the questions they asked him or their comments. He just stared at the ground.
Then he passed out, exhausted.
(A/N): Like I said, (Y/N)'s going to be pretty helpless in this story. Also, RIP Himeno. 😔
