Brody's POV
Those four words that just came out of Ryder's mouth are the most amazing words I have ever heard. Its like music to my ears. She loves me to. Ever since 6th grade I wanted her to like me, but loving me is even better. To make it better she said that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me to. I just want to scream to the whole world that Ryder is mine.
I realize I'm staring and look down. I can feel a blush creep into my cheeks and rub the back of my neck. I hear Ryder laugh and take her hand back to start the car.
"What?" I ask.
"Oh nothing. Your just really cute when your embarrassed." She giggles.
"I am not cute! I'm a man and men are not cute." I argue.
"No, your cute so get over it." She sticks out her tongue and pulls out. I just laugh and find it weird how she was just crying and is now making me laugh. She must be traumatized after what she just did, but she always seems to make me feel better.
"Your staring again." She laughs. My face must turn bright red because she laughs again, "What are you thinking about?"
"I'm thinking about how much I love you and that I wish I could be more like you." I blurt out. She blushes and opens her mouth to say something, but stops and thinks. She finally takes a deep breath and closes her eyes for a second. When she opens her eyes there's tears in her eyes.
"Like me?" She finally manages to say.
"Yeah, you know you just shot your best friend and you only cried once. You are doing all this for me and barely ever thought about yourself. If I was you we would still be in there and I would be crying because I just killed someone and they were my best friend." I ramble on. I take a breath and look at Ryder waiting for an answer. She looks at me real quick and pulls the car over. She whips around and looks at me.
"I'm not thinking about myself right now because your needs are bigger than mine. So what if I just killed someone that can wait until later, but you have a knife sticking out of your leg. That's more important than me. I'm sure later I'm going to break down even worse than I did before, but right now I'm going to only think about you." She says with tears threatening to pour down her face. I just sit there staring at her.
"What?" She asks sitting back.
"Wow! I always thought I could never get more in love with you, but you always seem to surprise me and make me live you more. You are putting everything to the back of your mind to care about someone who pretty much made you shoot your best friend," I grab her hands and look her in the eyes, "You are probably the best person I have ever met. Your not selfish and you put everyone's needs before your own and you know what? After this is all over I'm going to take you out where ever you would like and it will be all about you."
"You really mean all that?" She asks with tears running down her face. I reach up and wipe the tears from her eyes and she puts her hand over my own.
"Of course I do. I mean all of it because its true." She just starts crying all over again and leans over to give me a hug. We stay hugging for a long time and finally she breaks the silence with a sob.
"What's wrong?" Maybe I said something wrong.
"Feelings!" She laughs.
