"Turn away... If you could, get me a drink, of water, 'cause my lips are chapped and faded..."

↠━━━━ღ◆ღ━━━━↞

"Alright class listen up. I told you what was going to happen, and you better take this seriously if you want to actually graduate." A man with inky black hair announced to his class, who some looked annoyed, some nervous, and some overall happy. "If I hear one of you is causing any trouble or hurting any of these kids' feelings, I will personally make sure you have to do your entire high school career over again. But I'm sure I won't hear any of that, right?" The tired man announced, glaring at each and every single one of his students, making sure they understood full well what he meant.

How could they not though? This is UA's Class 3-A, the best of the best, top of the school. If being respectful to a few kids in a hospital is a major task, that would be shameful to hero society as a whole.

A chorus of "Yes sir", "Yes Mr. Aizawa", and at least one "Sir!" had been heard circling throughout the vehicle.

One by one, they all filed off the bus. Except one lingered a bit: Katsuki Bakugo. If you had to sum his personality up in a nutshell, it was certainly NOT talking to people, let alone kids.

"..kugo."

"Bakugo. For the last time, get over here so I can tell you your room number."

'Old bastard, tryna make us talk to kids so we can get our fucking diplomas. I don't see any other of these shitty classes doing that!' The blonde rolled his eyes and swiped the card from his teacher that he was holding out to him.

"Just a warning 'cause I'm not stupid when it comes to you; Don't you dare mess this up for yourself. I gave you a special room, don't fail me."

One thing Katsuki Bakugo never did was fail.

"Yeah sure, whatever." He muttered, following after the line of his classmates who dispersed across the building after grabbing a sticker to verify they were a visitor.

'715... 715... There. 715. Let's see what the hell that damn pencil-head set up for me.' The hero-in-training thought, knocking on the door. He heard someone from the inside clear their throat, then say a raspy "come in". It sounded as if they hadn't talked in a while.

Upon walking in Katsuki discovered this 'they' was a boy who looked to be about his age, very pale and gaunt with deep green eyes and a messy head of green locks. The boy smiled, and put down whatever book he was reading.

"All Might, huh?" the blonde said, noticing the cover.

"O-oh, uh, yeah... You're one of the kids from UA, right?" The green-haired boy asked, dodging the acknowledgment to the book as he felt it was embarrassing.

"Yeah. Katsuki Bakugo, and don't forget it."

The boy raised an eyebrow at this statement, a little unamused, which greatly differed from how timid he seemed earlier.

"Izuku Midoriya. Really isn't much else to say, I'm just here to give you a grade right?" Izuku smirked, taking the blonde way off guard.

"How the hell do you even know about that?" He asked, and Izuku's smirk grew wider. "The nurses told us that we had to behave, 'because your UA students and need to get your diplomas and all that.'" Izuku said in finger quotes. "Personally, I think it's best you never came at all, I mean, wouldn't you find it embarrassing if some hero from one of most elite hero courses in the country was forced to see you for a grade, while you lay in bed and just help them out? I think it's a bit too much of a reality check."

'So this little cocky brat put up a facade before he saw me... Can't say I hate it though, he's kinda cute doing it.' Katsuki thought, a smirk replacing the faded one Izuku had a few moments ago.

"I didn't ask to be here either, so don't think that for a second." He answered, finally closing the door and sitting down in a chair near Izuku's bed, leaning his arms on his legs.

"But you still want to be a hero, so you came here." Izuku stated, and Katsuki rolled his eyes, feeling as if Izuku was guilt-tripping him for no reason. "Can you blame me?" Katsuki argued, and Izuku smiled, shaking his head slightly from side to side.

"I really can't. I've admired heroes since I was a kid," he paused recollecting memories and smiling as he further proved himself correct with the All Might book on his bedside table. "How's UA anyways? You guys get to work with pros and stuff, right? And what about-"

"Oi, calm down nerdy fanboy, and gimme a minute to answer all your questions. Jeez... UA's okay I guess. A ton of extras, annoying teachers, and those pros are another level of asshole sometimes, but you just get used to it." Katsuki replied. Izuku was a bit disappointed by the blonde's answer. "What about the actual hero work?"

"The real stuff? Hm... It's fun for the most part, as long as you get to beat someone up." Katsuki answered casually, and Izuku looked at him with curiosity.

"Guess you heroes in training don't really take your work seriously, huh? Honestly, I thought you would say something motivational or the same crap every other hero does... Your very blunt aren't you, Kacchan?" Izuku said, his voice a mix of disappointment and slight expectation.

"Figured you didn't want to hear that, that's kind of the boring part. Besides, if you heard it so much, why would you want to hear it again? Secondly, where the hell did you get a nickname like that from?" Katsuki asked, slightly amused by Izuku's way of talking. He found it fascinating in a way, despite only being able to see everything from a screen like everyone else. This green-haired mystery of a person was more interesting by the second to him.

"O-oh, I actually thought that was your name, sorry... A-anyways, I guess I just had an expectation. Your answer is interesting to me though... But let me tell you this; Don't be a hero just to save people, be a hero for people," Izuku tried to explain, a bit red in embarrassment from getting Katsuki's name wrong, "I didn't want to get dark but... I'm on my deathbed practically. The nurses won't even bother racing here on time anymore if I call, it takes them five minutes, and there's plenty of them here in every corner of the building. Watch." Izuku pressed a small button beside his bed, and waited. The blonde was a bit shocked by everything this boy had to say, but listened intently, something you really wouldn't catch Katsuki Bakugo doing. He could really be doing it for the grade, or maybe it was this Izuku Midoriya who put him in a trance.

A few minutes later, much later than expected, a nurse came through the door.

"What can I get for you Midoriya-san?" She asked.

"A glass of water. My throat is dry." He answered coldly.

"Couldn't you have asked your guest?" She said, impatient with Izuku's interruption of whatever she was doing.

"I could've, but that wouldn't be very kind of me to ask would it?" He retorted, trying to hide a smirk. The nurse rolled her eyes and handed him a cup of water.

"Thanks."

She zipped out of the room hurriedly. Obviously, she had more important places to be.

"Heh... Funny right? I find it quite hilarious that they don't try to hide the fact I could die any given day, they don't care enough either. Can't say I really mind though, what's the point?" Izuku said jokingly, but it was so dark it concerned Katsuki a bit.

"Honestly, fuck her, that's gotta be annoying." Katsuki said after thinking of what to say for a minute. What would anyone say after a "joke" that dark?

A sudden 'bzzt' came from Katsuki's pocket. He checked his phone.

"Well, I gotta go. See ya later nerd... And hey, I'm total shit at talking and explaining stuff, but... Don't give up, promise?"

"*sigh* promise."

Both males had their own perception of each other, but Katsuki was struggling to piece together the greenette's personality. It was like he couldn't decide whether he wanted to have a facade, but when it faded he was blunt and cold to people.

'He really is something, but he's a hell of a guy to talk to..." Katsuki thought, and entered the bus once again with everyone else.
