her eyes went back to her phone, "it's just a harmless prank! besides, don't you think he'd look cute with (y/n)?" she exclaimed, showing the two others a picture of a guy with hair color that resembled that of red wine. "even if they don't start talking like i planned, the whole prank thing could be kinda funny."
cyno's eyebrows were knit together. "who's this again?"
"some guy who goes viral for doing loyalty tests," dehya responded as she started typing something on her phone. a few seconds later, she grinned and looked at her two friends, "there! i sent him a message." she exclaimed as she showed them her phone.

with a sigh, you slammed your forehead against your desk, not caring if it broke your skull. a few seconds later, you straightened your back, staring at the half-finished, half-assed assignment you were doing. with irritated eyes and a headache, you felt like dying.
you were too tired, but you only had yourself to blame for ignoring your assignments and starting them just a few hours before their due date.
but you had enough, so you decided to take a quick break. maybe make yourself a mug of hot chocolate or something. you didn't want to drink coffee because you'd rather not stay up until sunrise.
the second you got up, you heard your phone vibrate, so you sat back down to check the notification. you assumed it was one of your friends or something, but you were surprised that it was someone you don't know.

after you sent another message to heizou asking if he followed you on twitter, you decided to stop messaging him after you got no response for the sake of your dying dignity.
but your dignity didn't stop you from scrolling through his instagram, looking at his photos. he didn't have a lot of posts, but most of them were photos of himself. well, he's cute, you thought as you scrolled with furrowed eyebrows, completely forgetting that you were supposed to be "taking a short break" to do your assignments.
that break was supposed to be like 10 minutes, but somehow, it became 30 minutes.
you looked at the time- 9:57pm. you still had two hours and three minutes until the due date, which seemed like enough to you. you were almost done anyway, but it was still a bit half-assed and unrevised.
surely your professor won't mind.
after taking a few screenshots of heizou's profile and some of his photos, you contemplated telling your friends about him. it wasn't about your friends, more about the fact that you don't want to tell them about someone you just met, because you had a feeling you might jinx yourself and end up getting blocked minutes later.
so after a few seconds, you decided not to tell them for now.
with a sigh, you locked your phone and placed it on your desk, then your burning eyes stared into the screen in front of you, full of many words that they were starting to blur each other.
and so you continued typing, looking as bored as ever.
"(y/n)!" you heard your roommate and best friend, dehya, yell your name from outside your room. you didn't realize she was already home, as she was hanging out with your two other friends cyno and alhaitham. you were supposed to join them, until you remembered the three different assignments you had to do before 12am.
you groaned, rubbing your eyes. dehya opened the door, and she stared at you with a huge grin, "heeeyyy."
you gave her a puzzled look, then you returned back to typing on your laptop. "hi."
"sooo how has your day been?" you could feel her still grinning.
"it was okay, i guess. so fun, finished two assignments and almost done with the third."
"cool!" she exclaimed as she leaned against the door frame. "anything else?"
you felt something off about the question, so you looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "uh... no...? what else would i do when i'm home alone?"
she awkwardly chuckled, nodding her head, "yeah, you're right! haha." something was weird about her, but you didn't want to waste more time until you're done with your assignment. so you just nodded your head and a moment later your eyes were glued back to your laptop.
you knew dehya still stood there, but you tried to pretend she wasn't in your room. it was kinda awkward.
"so, do you want something to eat?"
you shrugged, not feeling hungry. "uh, no, thanks... can you make me hot chocolate though? thank you."
"sure!" she exclaimed, but she didn't move.
you were starting to feel anxious.
looking at dehya, she looked you back in the eye and her grin widened even more. and even though dehya has the prettiest smile you've ever seen, it kinda weirded you out right now.
"...why are you looking at me like that?"
with a giggle, dehya shook her head and turned around, "oh, nothing! sorry, kinda zoned out, haha."
"yeah..."
"i'll go make you that hot chocolate you want, babe!"
you were glad to see her leave your room, because- as much as you love dehya- you really wanted to get everything done and her behavior was creeping you out.
so you went back to typing on your laptop, ignoring the fact that minutes passed and dehya still didn't come with your hot chocolate. well, it's whatever- it's not, but you were coping- you told yourself it's fine. just a few minutes and you'll be done.
you almost slammed your head against your keyboard, but you stopped yourself when you heard your phone vibrate.
the screen lit up, and you saw a notification from heizou. but your dignity told you to wait a minute before you respond.
and that's what you did, until you felt impatient and quickly unlocked your phone to check his message.
