Rory ran back to the table Dean sat at with Sam's laptop. She grabbed her hot chocolate and took a sip of it, setting it back down on the table.

"Are you watching? Dee, you're not watching!" She said to Dean, nearly bouncing up and down.

"I'm watching!" Dean told her.

"Keep watching! I'll get it, I promise!" Rory told him, running back over to her skateboard.

"Okay!" Dean nodded, he looked up as Sam started walking back to the table. "Hey, your half-caff venti vanilla latte is getting cold over here, Francis."

"Bite me." Sam sat down in his chair.

"So, anything?" Dean asked, glancing back at Rory who was trying to do an Ollie.

"I had them check the FBI's missing-persons databank." Sam started. "No John Does fitting Dad's description. I even ran his plates for traffic violations." He said.

"I'm telling you, I don't think dad wants to be found." Dean stated.

Rory came running back over, picking up her hot chocolate again, taking another sip of it.

"I'll get it, Dean, I will! Keep watching!" She told her brother, rushing back to her skateboard.

"I'm watching!" Dean called back. "Check this out." He said to Sam, turning the laptop to him. "News item out of Plains Courier, Ankeny, Iowa. It's about 100 miles from here."

Sam looked at the screen of the laptop, beginning to read.

"Mutilated body was found near the victims car parked on 9 mile road." He read aloud.

"Keep reading." Dean told him, lifting his cup.

"Authorities are unable to provide a realistic description of the killer. The sole eyewitness, whose name has been withheld, is quoted as saying the attacker was invisible." Sam read.

"Could be something interesting." Dean stated.

"It could be nothing at all." Sam stated back. "One witness who didn't see anything. Doesn't mean it's the invisible man." He said.

"But what if it is? Dad would check it out." Dean said.

Sam let out a sigh.

"I did it!"

The two men looked up as Rory came running back over to the table with her skateboard in her arms, the biggest grin on her face.

"I did it! Did you see it?" She asked excitedly.

"I saw! That was pretty good, kid!" Dean told her, holding up a high five.

Rory slapped her hand against Deans, her smile still as wide as can be, unbeknownst to her, Dean hadn't been paying any attention at all.

Sam knew it too, but he didn't say anything. He didn't want to ruin Rory's happy little moment.

~~~
Dean pulled the impala to a stop, turning off the engine.
Rory didn't look up from her comic book, already knowing she was about to be told to stay in the car.
And as if on cue, Dean turned around in his seat to face the girl.
"Stay in the car, we'll be back shortly." He told her.
"Yeah, yeah." Rory said, her eyes never leaving her book.
Dean let his eyes linger on her only for a second before he turned back into his seat, opening his door.
The two brothers got out of the impala, closing their doors behind them.
The two met up in front of the car.
"One more time, why are we here?" Sam questioned his brother.
"Victim lived here." Dean replied.
They started walking towards a couple of college boys working on their cars.
"Nice wheels." Dean commented as they approached them.
The two working under the hood, turned their heads, looking at them.
"We're your fraternity brothers from Ohio. We're new in town— transfers." Dean told them. "Looking for a place to stay."
~~~

Sam and Dean walked into a room with a sign on the door that read "Purple Man."

Dean knocked on the door, though it was already open. They walked in to see a boy in yellow shorts, painting his body purple with a paintbrush.

The boy stopped and looked up at them.

"Who are you?" He questioned.

"We're your new roommates." Dean told him, walking further into the room.

"Do me a favor? Get my back." The boy said, holding the paintbrush out to Dean. "Big game today." He stated.

Dean stopped, jerking his thumb back towards Sam.

"He's the artist." He told him, Sam looked at his brother. "Things he can do with a brush..." he went and sat down in a chair.

Sam reluctantly took the paintbrush from the boy.

"So..." Dean started, grabbing a magazine. "Murph, is it true?" He asked.

"What?" The boy questioned.

"We heard one of the guys here got killed last week." Dean said.

The boy turned slightly to look at Dean.

"Yeah." He said.

"What happened?" Sam asked, speaking up.

"They're saying some psycho with a knife, maybe a drifter passing through. Rich was a good guy."

"Rich was with somebody?" Sam asked.

"Not just somebody— Lori Sorenson." The boy turned to look at Sam.

Sam pulled a face.

"Who's Lori Sorenson?" Dean asked the boy, then pointed towards the boys back. "You missed a spot down on the back." He told Sam.

Sam stared at Dean, silently telling him to shut up.

Dean held back a smirk.

"Lori's a freshman. She's a local." The boy told them. "Super hot. And get this— she's a Reverend's daughter."

Dean closed the magazine in his hands, leaning forwards.

"You wouldn't happen to know which church, would you?" He asked.

~~~
The two brothers walked out of the building, going towards the impala.
As they approached the car, they noticed it was empty.
The brothers looked at each other, then quickly looked around the lot for their sister.
Sam spotted the girl, sitting on her skateboard under the shade of a tree, her comic book in her hands, and her eyes scanning the pages.
"Found her." He spoke up, starting towards the girl.
Dean was quick to follow.
"Rowan." Dean spoke up as they approached the girl.
Rory looked up at them, then back down at her book.
"You were supposed to stay in the car." Dean stated.
"It got too hot, and you took keys." Rory said, closing her comic book and standing up off her skateboard.
She turned, popping up the board and grabbing the front of it.
"Its not like I went anywhere." She stated with a slight shrug.
Sam let out a sigh, looking to Dean.
"Alright, you get a pass this time." Dean told her.
"Next time..." Sam started. "Try to stay by the car, okay?"
"Okay." Rory nodded.
"Come on." Dean said, holding his hand out for the girls board.
She gave him her skateboard, letting him carry it as they started back towards the impala.
"Where are we going now?" Rory asked.
"Church." Dean answered.
Rory pulled back for a split second.
"Come on, guys, I wasn't lying! It really did get hot in the car!" She stated to them.
"Not for you, Rory." Sam couldn't help but chuckle.
"Oh." Rory said.
~~~

"Our hearts go out to the family of the young man who perished, and my personal prayers of thanks go out, as well," The Reverend spoke in front of the church. "Because I believe he died trying to protect my daughter. And now, as time heals all our wounds, we should reflect on what this tragedy means to us as a church..."

Suddenly the doors opened, and in stepped the three Winchesters. Rory accidentally let the door slam behind her.

The entire church turned to look at them.

Dean looked back at Sam.

"...As a community, and as a family." The Reverend continued.

The three siblings then began making their way to a seat.

"The loss of a young person is particularly tragic. A life unlived is the saddest of passings."

Rory sat down beside Sam, Dean sat on the other side of Sam.

"So, please, let us pray for peace, for guidance, and for the power to protect our children." The Reverend spoke.

Everyone bowed their heads, including Sam. He noticed Dean nor Rory bowed their heads, Sam nudged Dean who looked at him.

Dean then bowed his head.

Sam lightly nudged his sister.

"What?" She whispered.

Sam gave her a look.

Rory gave a slight huff, bowing her head.

~~~
Rory followed behind Dean who followed behind Sam. Rory's eyes wondered over a few kids who ran around them, playing Tag.
She smiled a little, wanting to go play with them, but she didn't ask.
"Are you Lori?" Sam asked, speaking up as they approached a young woman.
She turned to look at them.
"Yeah." She nodded.
"My name is Sam. This is my brother, Dean. This is our sister, Rory." Sam introduced the three of them, Rory wasn't paying any attention, she was too busy watching the kids play.
"We just transferred here to the university." Sam told Lori.
"I saw you inside." Lori told them.
"We don't want to bother you. We heard about what happened." Sam told her.
"We wanted to say how sorry we were." Dean spoke up.
"I kind of know what you're going through." Sam said. "I—I saw someone get hurt once."
Dean looked at his brother.
"It's something you don't forget." Sam stated.
The Reverend then came up to his daughter, Lori turned to him.
"Dad, this is Sam, Dean, and Rory. Sam and Dean are new students." Lori introduced them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." Dean held his hand out to the Reverend. "I must say that was an inspiring sermon." He told him.
"Thank you very much." The man nodded with a smile. "It's so nice to find young people who are open to the lord's message."
Dean gave a light chuckle.
"Listen, we're new in town, actually," he started, leading the Reverend with him away from Sam and Lori. "and we're looking for a...a church group."
Sam's eyes shifted to Rory, he noticed she was still focused on all the other kids.
"Hey, why don't you go play with the others?" He nudged her, she looked at him.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah, go ahead." He told her.
Rory grinned and rushed off towards the group of kids.
"Tell me, Lori, what are the police saying?" Sam turned to the woman, walking with her.
"Well, they don't have a lot to go on." Lori stated. "I think they blame me for that."
"What do you mean?" Sam asked.
"My story. I was so scared, I guess I was seeing things." Lori told him.
"That doesn't mean it wasn't real." Sam told her.
Lori gave a small smile.
~~~

"So you believe her?" Dean questioned Sam as they walked through the library.

"I do." Sam said.

"Yeah, I think she's hot, too." Dean said.

"No, man, there's something in her eyes." Sam stated.

Rory walked along behind them. She was bored.

"And listen to this." Sam continued. "She heard scratching on the roof and found the bloody body suspended upside down over the car." He said as they walked into an isle of books.

"Bloody body suspended?" Dean asked, stopping Sam. "That sounds like—"

"The hook man legend." Sam finished.

Rory looked up at them.

"Wait, you mean like The Hookman Hookman?" Rory asked.

"That's one of the most famous urban legends. You don't actually think that we're dealing with the hookman." Dean stated, glancing at Rory.

"Every urban legend has a source, a place where it all began." Sam said.

"What about the scratches and the fire punctures and the invisible killer?" Dean asked.

"Maybe the hookman isn't a man at all." Sam stated. "What is it's some kind of spirit?"

Dean raised his brows, slightly tilting his head.

~~~
"Here you go." The woman said as she slid a box onto the table in front of the three siblings. "Arrest records going back to 1851." She turned and grabbed another box, sliding it onto the table as well.
Dean blew on the top of the dusty box, and he coughed.
"Thanks." He said to her.
Sam wiped his hand over the top of one of the boxes, coating his hand in a layer of dust.
Rory scrunched her nose up.
"This is how you spent four good years of your life, huh?" Dean questioned Sam.
"Welcome to higher education." Sam smirked as they opened the boxes.
Rory raised her arm a little as she pulled a face, inhaling deeply. Sam and Dean looked at her.
She inhaled sharply, then sneezed into her elbow.
"Ew!" Dean pulled back.
Rory glared at him, but then she felt another one coming on.
She inhaled again, and waited, but she lost it.
Sam couldn't help but chuckle, Dean on the other hand was disgusted. Either that, or he was just pretending to get on Rory's nerves.
Regardless, it was working.
~~~

The three Winchesters spent quite a while looking over files, and eventually Sam spoke up.

"Hey, check this out." He said.

Rory and Dean looked over at him.

"1862– a preacher named Jacob Karns was arrested for murder." Sam started as Dean got up, coming over beside him. "Apparently, he was so angry over the red-light district in town that one night he killed 13 prostitutes." He said.

Rory made a face.

"Yikes." She muttered, turning back around in her chair.

"Some of the deceased were found in their beds, sheets soaked with blood, others suspended upside down from the limbs of trees as a warning against sins of the flesh." Sam said, reading off of a paper from the file.

"Get this— the murder weapon?" Dean spoke up, reading from another paper. "Looks like the preacher lost his hand in an accident, had it replaced with a silver hook."

"Look where all this happened." Sam said.

Dean looked at Sam's paper.

"9 mile road." He said.

"Same place where the frat boy was killed." Sam stated.

Dean smirked.

"Nice job, Dr. Venkman." He said. "Let's check it out." He stepped back, walking towards Rory who was flipping through the box of files.

"Dude, were you listening to anything?" Dean questioned her.

"Huh?" Rory looked up at him.

Dean sighed, slightly shaking his head at his little sister.

~~~
Rory shuttered as she looked out her window into the dark woods.
Dean pulled the impala to a stop, cutting the engine.
The three siblings got out of the impala.
"It's, uh..." Rory gave a light, nervous chuckle. "It's real dark out there." She stated.
"Chicken." Dean made fun of her.
Rory elbowed him in the stomach, resulting in Dean smacking the back of her head, which resulted in the two of them fighting each other.
"Knock it off, you two." Sam scolded them.
The two siblings reluctantly let go of each other.
They headed around to the trunk, then Dean decided to shove Rory onto the ground, lightly smirking to himself.
Sam gave him a look.
Deans smirk fell, just before Rory got back up, coming over and stomping on Deans foot.
Dean cried out, bringing his foot up, grabbing it and glaring at Rory.
"You little friggin'—" Dean lightly hopped on one foot.
"Dean, and Rowan." Sam said, the two stopped and looked at him.
Sam gave them a stern look.
Both of them looked away from Sam.
Dean finally unlocked the trunk, and leaned in, grabbing a shotgun, giving it to Sam.
"Here you go." He said.
"If it is a spirit, buckshot won't do much good." Sam stated.
"Yeah. Rock salt." Dean stated, giving bullets filled with rock salt to Sam.
"Hmm. Salt being a spirit deterrent."
"Yeah. It won't kill 'em, but it'll slow 'em down." Dean said, closing the trunk, now having a rope in his hand that he swung over his shoulder.
Dean closed the trunk, and they started walking.
"That's pretty good. You and dad think of this?" Sam asked, Rory following behind them.
"I told you, you don't have to be a college graduate to be a genius." Dean said with a smirk on his face.
The three siblings stopped mid-step as they heard branches snapping coming from the woods in front of them.
Rory stepped forwards, lightly grasping onto the back of Sam's jacket. Sam glanced back at her, then lifted his shotgun, pointing it at the trees.
"Over there, over there." Dean whispered, Sam pointed in the direction his brother told him.
They heard footsteps approaching and Sam was just about ready to shoot. But all of a sudden, a cop came out of the woods with a gun in his own hands, pointing it at the Winchesters.
"Put the gun down now! Now!" The cop yelled.
The siblings faces fell quickly.
"Hands behind your head!" The cop yelled.
"Okay, okay, wait, wait, wait." Dean said as the brothers set their stuff down, Rory threw her hands up before her brothers did the same.
"On your knees! Come on, do it!" The officer demanded.
The three got on their knees.
"Get down on your bellies. Come on, do it."
They then got down on their stomachs, laying on the ground.
"He had the gun." Dean complained.
~~~

"Saved your ass." Dean said as they walked out of the sheriffs department. "Talked the sheriff down to a fine, dude. I'm MatLock."

"But how?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, how?" Rory asked, trying to fix her shoe and walk at the same time.

"Told him you were a dumb-ass pledge and that we were hazing you." Dean chuckled.

"What about the shotgun?" Sam asked.

"I said that you were hunting ghosts and that spirits are repelled by rock salt. You know, typical hell week prank." Dean stated as they started across the road to the impala.

"And he believed you?" Sam questioned.

"Well, you look like a dumb-ass pledge." Dean looked over at Sam.

Sam lightly furrowed his brows.

They got to the impala, and Dean noticed about four or five cops running out of the sheriffs department.

"Sam." He said as the cops got into their cars.

They started up the sirens and sped down the road.

Rory looked between her brothers.

~~~
The impala came to a stop, and Dean turned off the car. The three siblings then got out and headed over towards a stone wall.
They climbed up on the shorter half and went through a row of small bushes. They came out at the house where the crime scene was.
Another death around Lori Sorenson.
Sam, Dean, and Rory then rushed across the driveway, trying to stay out of sight from the cops.
"Why would the Hookman have come here?" Sam asked. "This is a long way from 9 mile road."
"Maybe he's not haunting the scene of his crime. Maybe it's about something else." Dean stated.
They stopped when two girls came out of the house, they leaned back against the wall.
"Dude, sorority girls." Dean smirked and chuckled. "Think we'll see a naked pillow fight?"
"Ew!" Rory hit her brother's arm.
Dean glanced back at her, then looked to Sam who was climbing up the side of the house.
Dean put his hand under Sam's foot, pushing him up. Once Sam was up, Dean turned to his sister.
"Your turn." He told her, leaning back against the wall and lightly crouching, interlocking his hands so Rory could step up into them.
Rory grabbed onto Deans shoulder, then stepped into his hand. Dean boosted her up, and Sam grabbed her hand, pulling her all the way up.
Rory followed Sam around the roof, to a window. Dean climbed up and followed after them.
Sam tried pulling the window up, and surprisingly it was unlocked. Sam glanced back at Dean before he climbed through the small window.
Sam grunted as he hit the floor.
Dean then climbed through, landing on top of Sam.
"Oh! Sorry." Dean apologized.
"Try and be quiet, will you?" Sam told him.
"Me be quiet? You be quiet." Dean told him.
Rory leaned into the window, looking at them. She quietly laughed at them.
She made her way through the window, landing on the floor just as her brothers had.
She got up, and Dean quietly closed the window behind her.
They then started towards the cracked closet door, Sam peeked through the small gap and saw a cop walking around the crime scene of the bedroom.
The cop left the room, and Sam pushed the door open. It creaked, the siblings stopped. They waited to hear the cop running back in but he never did, so they just headed into the room.
Rory cringed a little as they looked over the blood-soaked bed, blocked off with caution tape.
The siblings then looked to the wall that had bloody engraved words on it.
It read 'Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?' Then it had a symbol underneath it.
"Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?" Sam read. "That's right out of the legend." He stated.
"Yeah, that's classic Hookman, alright." Dean stated.
Rory looked between her brothers.
"It's definitely a spirit." Dean said, tapping his nose.
"Yeah, I've never smelled ozone this strong before." Sam stated.
Dean walked over to the window, peeking through the shades at the ambulance.
"Hey, come here." Sam said, Dean looked back at him before coming back over. "Does that look familiar to you?" He pointed towards the symbol below the words.
Dean furrowed his brows at it.
Rory tilted her head at the symbol, lightly humming.
~~~

"It's the same symbol." Sam stated as they looked at a picture of the hookman's hook. "Seems like it is the spirit of Jacob Karns."

"Alright, let's fine the dude's grave, salt and burn the bones, and put him down." Dean said.

Rory hummed the tune to 'Heart-shaped box' by Nirvana, as she fumbled with her shoelace. She wasn't paying much attention...again.

"After execution, Jacob Karns was laid to rest in Old North cemetery in an unmarked grave." Sam read.

"Super." Dean said sarcastically, leaning off of the Impala.

Rory looked up, and hopped off the hood of the car.

"Okay, so," Sam started. "We know it's Jacob Karns, but we still down know where he'll manifest next, or why.

Dean grabbed a piece of paper lodged behind the windshield wipers, looking at it.

"I'll take a wild guess about why." Dean said. "I think your friend Lori has something to do with this." He opened his door.

Rory looked at Sam who looked at her with furrowed brows.

~~~
Rory stood beside Sam as her eyes scanned the room.
College students were dancing everywhere, some half naked. Loud music was playing, Dean was slowly making his way through the crowd, looking at all the women.
"Man, you've been holding out on me. This college thing is awesome!" Dean stated to Sam.
"This wasn't really my experience." Sam said.
"Yeah, let me guess— library, studying, straight A's." Dean listed off.
Sam made a face and nodded.
"What a geek." Dean said, looking to Rory who was staring at a couple that was making out, with a slightly disturbed and disgusted look on her face.
He reached over, putting his hand on her head and turning her head towards him and Sam.
"Did you do your homework?" Dean questioned their brother.
"Yeah, it was bugging me. How is the Hookman tied with Lori? I think I came up with something." Sam said as they started walking through the crowd, Rory quickly followed after them.
Sam handed Dean a paper, having it read it.
"1932 — Clergyman arrested for murder." Dean read and pulled a face. He flipped the paper over. "1967— Seminarian held in hippie rampage." He read.
"There's a pattern here." Sam stated. "In both cases, the suspect was a man of religion who openly preached against immortality and then found himself wanted for killings he claimed were the work of an invisible force, killings carried out— get this — with a sharp instrument."
"What's the connection to Lori, though?" Rory finally spoke up.
"A man of religion who openly preaches against immortality." Sam stated. "Except this time instead of saving the whole town, he's just trying to save his only daughter." He said.
"Reverend Sorenson." Dean said. "Do you think he's summoning the spirit?"
"Maybe." Sam said. "Or you know how a Poltergeist can haunt a person instead of a place?"
"Yeah. The spirit latched onto the Reverends repressed emotions, feeds off them, yeah. Okay." Dean nodded his head.
"Without the Reverend ever even knowing it." Sam said.
"Either way, you should keep an eye on Lori tonight." Dean told Sam.
"What about you and Row?" Sam asked.
Rory looked up at Dean who looked over at a girl who was smiling at him by the pool table.
"We're gonna go see if we can find that unmarked grave." Dean said, a bummed out look on his face.
He then turned and walked away.
Rory giggled and followed after her oldest brother.
~~~

Rory and Dean walked through the cemetery, looking for the unmarked grave.

Rory shined her flashlight around, but she didn't see anything.

Dean walked in front of her, a shovel in one hand, a flashlight in the other. He made Rowan carry the duffel bag.

Rory jumped a little as they heard rustling in the bushes. She quickly grabbed onto Deans jacket. He glanced back at her, then looked around.

They began forwards again, Rory stayed close to Dean.

They stopped at the top of a hill, looking down it and Dean found the unmarked grave of Jacob Karns.

"Here we go." Dean said as they headed down the hill, he assisted Rory down.

They stepped in front of the tombstone with that symbol on it.

~~~
"Keep diggin', buster." Rory told Dean as she sat on the grass, Dean was in the ground, digging the grave.
"You get down in here and start digging." Dean told her, out of breath.
"Nah, I'm good." Rory started biting her nails.
"That's it." Dean shook his head. "Next time, I get to watch the cute girl's house." He said, then kept digging up the dirt.
Rory chuckled a little.
Finally, Dean hit the pine box at the bottom of the grave. He broke the door revealing the bones of Jacob Karns.
"Hello, Preacher." Dean said.
He held the shovel out to Rory who grabbed it, holding it for Dean while he climbed up out of the grave.
He grabbed the duffel bag and unzipped it, getting out the salt and the gasoline.
Rory moved back further from the grave as Dean poured the salt over the bones, then he poured the gasoline over it.
He then grabbed the matches, striking one on the matchbox.
"Goodbye, Preacher." Dean said, then tossed the match into the grave.
It immediately caught fire.
Rory watched the fire, feeling the warmth coming from it.
She looked to her brother who looked to her.
~~~

Rory walked beside Dean as they approached the cops blocking the way to the hospital room where the Reverend was.

Sam was talking to the sheriff in the doorway of the room.

"You're not allowed back here." One of the cops stopped Dean.

"Oh, no, it's okay. That's our brother." Dean pointed towards Sam who looked at them.

Dean smiled and raised his hand, waving.

"Hey, brother." Dean called.

Rory raised her hand a little, smiling at Sam.

"Let them through." The sheriff with Sam told the cops.

"Thanks." Dean told the cops. "Come on." He held his arm out to Rory.

She stepped forwards to him, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, bringing her with him as he walked.

"Go ahead." The sheriff told Sam.

Sam then hurried towards his siblings.

Rory hugged Sam tightly when they approached him. Sam hugged her back, lightly ruffling her hair.

"You okay?" Dean asked Sam.

"Yeah." Sam nodded.

"What the hell happened?" Dean asked as Rory pulled away from Sam and they started walking the other way.

"Hookman." Sam stated.

"You saw him?" Rory looked up at Sam. "What does he look like?"

"Damn right." Sam said, ignoring the last question. "Why didn't you guys torch the bones?" He stepped in front of his siblings.

"What are you talking about?" Dean questioned, glancing at Rory. "We did. Are you sure it's the spirit of Jacob Karns?" He questioned Sam.

"Sure as hell looked like him. And that's not all." Sam said. "I don't think the spirit is latching onto the Reverend."

"Well, yeah, the guy wouldn't send the Hookman after himself." Dean stated.

"Or would he?" Rory raised a brow, stroking her chin.

Dean nudged her, telling her to knock it off.

"I think it's latching onto Lori." Sam said. "Last night she found out that her father is having an affair with a married woman." He told them.

"So what?" Dean asked.

"So, she's upset about it." Sam stated. "She's upset about the immortality of it. She was raised to believe that if you do something wrong, you get punished."

"Okay, so she's conflicted, and the spirit of Preacher Karns is latching onto her repressed emotions and doing the punishing for her." Dean said.

"Right." Sam nodded. "Rich comes on too strong. Taylor tries to make her into a party girl. Dad has an affair." He listed off.

"Remind me not to piss this girl off." Dean said. "But I burned those bones. I buried them in salt. Why didn't that stop him?" He asked.

Rory looked from Dean to Sam.

"You must've missed something." Sam shook his head.

"The whole grave was in flames, there was nothing to miss." Rory stated.

"Yeah, I burned everything in that coffin." Dean said.

"Did you get the hook?" Sam asked, looking between his brother and sister.

"The hook?" Rory asked as Dean stared blankly at Sam.

"It was the murder weapon, and in a way it was part of him." Sam said.

"So, like the bones, the hook is a source of his power." Dean stated.

"So, if we find the hook..."

"We stop the Hookman." The three siblings said in unison.

"Case solved." Rory smirked making her brothers look at her.

~~~
Rory sat at the table in the library with Sam and Dean. The brothers were looking over books, Rory was spinning in a spinning chair.
"Here's something, I think." Dean spoke up, Sam looking to him. "Logbook, Iowa state penitentiary. Karns, Jacob— personal affects, disposition thereof." He read.
"Does it mention the hook?" Sam asked.
"Upon execution, all earthly items shall be remanded to the prisoners house of worship, St. Barnabas Church." Dean said.
"Isn't that where Lori's father preaches?" Sam questioned.
"Yeah." Dean said.
"Where Lori lives?" Sam questioned.
"Maybe that's why the Hookman's been haunting Reverends and Reverends' daughters for the past 200 years." Dean stated.
"But if the hook were at the church or Lori's house, don't you think someone might've seen it?" Sam said. "I mean, a blood-stained, silver-handled hook?" He stated.
Dean pulled the lid of his pen out of his mouth, putting it back on the pen.
"Check the church records." He said, getting up.
Rory's spin came to a stop, and her vision was spinning. She now had a headache.
She got up to follow after Dean, but she went a little too fast, leaning to the side before falling into a few chairs.
Sam laughed at her.
Rory groaned a little.
"St. Barnabas donations, 1862. Received— silver-handled hook from state penitentiary. Reforged." Sam read from the church records book in front of him. "They melted it down, made it into something else."
Dean sat a few feet away from Sam in a chair against a pillar. Rory sat on the floor, playing with her shoelaces.
Dean closed his book, letting out a small sigh before getting up. He came towards Rowan.
"Come on, kid." He held his hands out to Rory.
Rory smacked her hands against Deans, letting him pull her up off the floor.
"Can I get on your back?" She asked her brother.
Dean huffed, but got down a little so the girl could jump on his back. She grinned and giggled, wrapping her arms around Deans neck and her legs around his waist.
Dean hooked his arms under her knees, Sam chuckled at them.
"Onwards, peasant!" Rory pointed forwards.
Dean turned his head towards her, his brows furrowed.
"Excuse me?" He asked.
"You said I could get on your back! I'm taking advantage, I have the power now!" She stated.
"What? No you—"
Rory harshly nudged him in the side, cutting him off.
"Ow! Okay!" He whined.
Rory chuckled.
"Onwards!" She repeated, pointing forwards again.
Dean grumbled, stomping towards the exit.
Sam shook his head at them, a smile on his face.
~~~

The three siblings got out of the impala.

"Alright. We can't take any chances." Dean said. "Anything silver goes in the fire." He told his two younger siblings as they walked up towards the front of the impala.

"I agree." Sam said. "Lori's still at the hospital. We'll have to break in." He said.

"Alright, take your pick." Dean said.

"I'll take the house." Sam said.

"Okay." Dean nodded. "You're with me." He nudged their sister.

Sam walked past them, going towards Lori's house.

"Hey." Dean called out to him.

Sam turned back.

"Stay out of her underwear drawer." Dean told him.

At first Rory giggled.

"Yeah, stay out of her—" she stopped, frowning as it finally registered what Dean had said. "Ew!" She hit Deans arm.

Dean laughed, turning and walking towards the Church. Rory quickly followed.

Sam shook his head at Dean.

~~~
Dean tossed a plate along with other things into the fire. He had a big bag full of silver things from the church.
Rory tossed a cup into the fire.
She and Dean both looked up as the heard the door creak open.
Sam came down the stairs with a bag.
"I got everything that even looks silver." He told them.
"Better safe than sorry." Dean said as Sam dropped the bag in front of them.
Dean opened the bag, throwing an item into the fire. The three looked up as they heard footsteps creaking above them.
There was someone in the church.
"Move, move." Dean told the two as he turned, grabbing his gun and hurrying up the stairs.
Sam and Rowan quickly followed.
They peeked out into the sanctuary, seeing Lori sitting in one of the isles.
Dean lowered his gun as Sam stepped ahead of him. Rory peeked out from behind Dean.
Sam and Dean looked to each other, Dean nodded for Sam to go talk to Lori.
Sam nodded, walking towards the woman. Dean laid his hand on Rory's head, gently turning her back towards the stairs.
He let her go in front of him, before he followed her down the stairs, quietly closing the door behind them.
Not even five minutes later, Rory and Dean heard ruckus upstairs along with Lori screaming.
They both rushed up, following the sound of glass breaking. They quickly rounded the corner, Dean had his gun in hand. Rory slipped, letting out a small squeal as she almost fell.
Dean saw Hookman standing in between Sam and Lori.
"Sam, drop!" He yelled.
Sam dropped to the floor and Dean shot Hookman, who disappeared.
Rory ran up behind Dean.
"I thought we got all the silver." Sam breathed out. "Why is he still here?"
"Maybe we missed something." Dean stated.
Sam looked around. When his eyes shifted to Lori, he noticed her wearing a Cross necklace.
"Lori, where did you get that chain?" He questioned her.
"My father gave it to me." Lori said.
"Where'd your dad get it?" Dean questioned.
"It was a Church Heirloom. He gave it to me."
"Is it silver?" Sam asked.
"Yes." Lori answered.
Sam grabbed it, pulling it off.
They all looked up as a big scratch began forming on the wall, coming towards them.
"Sam." Dean said, holding his hand out.
Sam tossed Dean the necklace, and Dean turned to Rory.
"Take it. Throw it in the fire." He told her, shoving it into her hands.
"Okay!" Rory nodded, then turned, running off to rid of the silver necklace.
Rory got down to the basement, rushing down the stairs as Dean stayed with Sam and Lori, shooting at Hookman.
Rory stepped off the last step, but she tripped.
She hit the ground and the necklace flew out of her hand.
"Crap!" She muttered, hurrying to grab it.
She ran to the fireplace, throwing it into the fire.
"Come on! Hurry!" She yelled.
Finally, it melted.
She turned, running back up the stairs. She rounded the corner to see The Hookman gone, and everyone okay.
She let out a breath, smiling and giving her brothers a thumbs up.
~~~

"And you saw him, too, the man with the hook?" The sheriff questioned Dean.

"Yes, I told you. We all saw him." Dean stated. "We fought him off, and then he ran."

"And that's all?" The sheriff asked.

"Yeah, that's all." Dean nodded.

"Listen, you, your brother, and your sister—"

"Oh, don't worry. We're leaving town." Dean said, turning and walking towards the impala where Rory was waiting in the backseat.

Dean got into the impala, seeing Lori and Sam talking by the Ambulance.

Rory leaned up towards the front, watching Sam and Lori in the side mirror, as Dean was doing the same.

"They're kinda cute together." She said with a small hum.

Dean chuckled.

He watched the two, then slightly bit the inside of his cheek as Sam started towards the car.

He got into the passenger seat, and both Dean and Rory looked to him.

"We could stay." Dean told him.

Sam barely glanced at him, then shook his head a little.

Rory looked to Dean who looked to her. She then pulled back into her seat.

Dean started up the engine with a small sigh, then switched gears and pulled out onto the road, leaving Lori and the town behind them.
