Beomgyu meant it when he said he'll order a burger, keeping it simple with that and some seasoned fries. Yeonjun opted to be a little boujee and orders Kobe beef (he doesn't see the opportunity to do so ever arising again, so he might as well take it while he can).

"You can have some of my beef if you want. Then maybe you'll find your new go-to order," Yeonjun offers with a proud smile, like Beomgyu wasn't the one paying for the whole thing. How generous.

Beomgyu chuckles, shaking his head and taking a sip of his drink that is now lemonade. "I'm okay."

Yeonjun snorts no distaste behind it. "Fine, I'll make it out to be so good you'll regret that," he says, grinning cheekily as he makes eye contact with Beomgyu and brings his clear glass to his lips.

"Sure you will." Beomgyu doesn't believe him. He's a firm believer that burgers are best, especially when they're juicy and have cheese on them. Simple but enjoyable.

The classical music takes over their ears as they fall into silence, weirdly unable to find something to say.

Beomgyu comes up with something first, curiosity striking him. "How do you know Soobin?" They're the polar opposite personality-wise and Beomgyu can't see them having much in common either.

Yeonjun's eyes flick to him, bringing the glass in his hand down to the table and gulping down the last of his champagne that he's drinking a lot slower than Beomgyu had. "I met him a few years ago at a dance competition."

"Soobin dances!" Beomgyu raises his eyebrows in surprise, mouth agape.

Soobin never appeared to be the dancing type, often too lazy to even want to walk anywhere. Beomgyu can't picture him having the energy to move more than one body part at a time.

Yeonjun sputters out a laugh like that's the funniest thing he's heard in a long time. He shakes his head, lips forming an amused, thin smile. "No. He was there to support a friend at the time."

"Then how did you two meet then?" Beomgyu pouts in thought, placing his arms on the table and leaning in to give his full attention to Yeonjun.

"It's really not interesting. He was drooling over me and so I said I'd become his friend so he doesn't  have a hard time forgetting someone as great as me." Yeonjun shrugs as if it's no big deal and casually takes a sip of his drink, mindlessly watching one of the couples a few tables down.

He's brought back by Beomgyu's loud laugh, pretending to wipe his tears. Beomgyu lets out the last of his laugh, lightly slapping Yeonjun's arm that's resting on the table. "No, but seriously... how?"

Yeonjun huffs, pretending to be offended that Beomgyu doesn't believe his story but then he looks off and smiles. "It's quite embarrassing actually." Yeonjun chuckles, picturing the memory in his head. "I was backstage, practising, and I tripped over a wire. Wrecked the performance that was on at the time and because the judges thought I'd done it as a sabotage attempt, I was disqualified."

Beomgyu's mouth forms a circle in shock, eyes widening but he can't help but find the story mildly amusing.

"It happened to be Soobin's friend that I'd sabotaged and he'd come off stage to reprimand me. Soobin stuck up for me saying he saw the whole thing and that it really was an accident." Yeonjun pauses to catch his breath and allow Beomgyu some time to process what he's told him already.

"I asked Soobin why he stuck up for me because no one was around when I was dancing. He said it was because I seemed like I was being sincere and I'd be a psycho to bruise my wrist as badly as I did for a sabotage attempt."

Beomgyu's nose flares and his lips curve into a smile, sounds like the kind Soobin he knows.

"Actually... I ended up going to the hospital when my wrist was swelling with no sign of going down. Soobin took me. Turned out I'd sprained it. I had to get it bandaged up and I probably wouldn't have taken care of it if I was alone; I would've brushed it off."

"Soobin has always been the sensible type, he looked after me before when I went on one too many roller coasters." Beomgyu laughs to himself, offering some information about him and their mutual friend.

"Oh, really? Does Soobin like rides now?"

"Nope." Beomgyu grins. "I think he was happy he had an excuse not to go on them to be honest."

Yeonjun hums in acknowledgement, tapping an index finger on his forehead. "Smart. He looks like a caring friend and he doesn't have to go on the rides because of how 'selfless' he is." Yeonjun makes air-quotes with his pointer and middle finger.

"See, I told you he was smart!"

"Not as smart as you," Yeonjun teases, sitting back against his chair as a waiter arrives with their food. It smells delicious, leaving both their mouths watering and longing to delve into it. Yeonjun waits for the waiter to leave before continuing, "who else would've thought to get a fake boyfriend so they don't have to get engaged? Though the smart part is definitely your choice of boyfriend."

Beomgyu rolls his eyes, taking a hold of his fork and knife. "Ha. Ha."

"I'm serious!" Yeonjun folds his arms across his chest. "Don't you see how handsome your boyfriend is?! You have good taste!" Yeonjun exclaims loudly and it's a wonder how he hasn't drawn attention to himself. He follows Beomgyu's suit and takes his own cutlery.

"I do," Beomgyu agrees, cutting into his burger.

Yeonjun doesn't make a comment at that, silently processing the information and fighting the smile on his lips as he snatches a bit of his beef off his fork.

"Let me feed it to you!" Yeonjun laughs as Beomgyu protests, pushing away Yeonjun's hand that has his fork with Kobe Beef on it..

During their meal, Yeonjun spotted a couple behind them acting all lovey-dovey and feeding each other, now trying to convince Beomgyu to recreate the scene. Beomgyu declines, laughing at Yeonjun's attempted antics.

"Beomgyu, what's more romantic than feeding your partner expensive meats?"

"Letting him eat peacefully." Beomgyu eats a forkful of his fries, not looking up at Yeonjun as he does.

Yeonjun frowns in disagreement, stabbing into the last of his beef and bringing it close to Beomgyu's lips. "Eat."

"I am!" Beomgyu laughs, gesturing at his food with a wave of his hand towards it. He's a slower eater than Yeonjun and whereas Yeonjun has that one piece of beef, Beomgyu has quite a bit of his burger and some fries left.

Yeonjun shakes his head, eyes flicking to his fork. "Say ahhhhh."

Beomgyu rolls his eyes, huffing as he gives in and attempts to eat the food in his mouth faster. After he swallows it, he opens his mouth and goes: "Ahhhh."

Yeonjun places the beef in Beomgyu's mouth. It's juicy and tender and maybe Yeonjun was right when he said it'd be his new go-to order because now he wishes he had ventured out from his norm.  Beomgyu exhales sharply through his nose in amusement. "You're so stupid, Yeonjun."

"Why? Because I'm such a cute fake boyfriend?"

"You wish!"

It doesn't take long for them to move onto dessert, both choosing to go for a warmed up brownie with ice cream and golden flakes that are apparently real gold.

Yeonjun plays with his dessert, wearing a pout on his lips. "I know I've said something similar before but..."

Beomgyu glances up at Yeonjun, waiting for him to speak, and slowly chews his food.

"I'd rather have you than this brownie." Yeonjun's lips slowly turn into a smirk and Beomgyu is half-tempted to smack it from his lips because he thought Yeonjun was going to be serious for once. Too bad he doesn't have a pillow. He resorts to an eye-roll instead.

"Apart from the fact that she's a stranger, how come you don't want to get married? By the way your family made it sound, you'd do anything for your work." Yeonjun spoons some of the desert into his mouth, it waters more as the food hits his pallet.

Yeonjun almost regrets telling Beomgyu he'd rather have him because his brownie is fucking delicious.

Beomgyu huffs, placing his spoon down. He takes a sip of his drink, lip twitching sheepishly. "I- -I don't know. I'm too young. I want to live my life like most people my age. Have an adventurous life, party and do dumb shit. It kind of hit me how much I was missing out because of work too." Beomgyu's lips curl down and he sighs.

"I didn't want to give up my early years for marriage and once I married Alisha, my parents would quickly expect a baby and I don't even know if I want kids."

"Well, if you're looking for adventure, you came to the right person, prince." Yeonjun grins, taking Beomgy's hand that rests on the table. "I promise that while I'm your fake boyfriend, I will help you fulfil your dreams of having an adventurous youth."

Beomgyu looks at him and couldn't help but smile softly. Yeonjun's offering him the most genuine smile he's seen since mowing him and he chooses to put his trust into it, nodding and grabbing his spoon again.

"I was about to call you the best fake boyfriend there is but I just remembered that before this, you said about having me for dessert so I take it back."

Yeonjun exhales out of his nose with one side of his mouth tugging into a proud smirk.

.•° ✿ °•.

Yeonjun and Beomgyu wait outside for their taxi — both too close to a food coma to want to drive themselves home.

With it being late at night, it's a lot colder than before and nearly silent apart from the sound of the classical music inside the restaurant.

Yeonjun side-eyes Beomgyu with a mysterious smirk playing on his lips. The younger furrows his eyebrows curiously, a small suspicious smile
crossing his own.

"What?" he asks through an amused laugh, hands digging into his blazer pockets to combat the cold air.

"I think our first fake date went well." Yeonjun's reaction of a smug smile and a gloat at the idea of it being a date differs greatly from Beomgyu's.

Beomgyu's eyes widen, a deer in headlights, and his body stilled. "Date? This isn't a date!" he rushes out, which only makes Yeonjun laugh at how nervous he's become.

Yeonjun pouts whilst looking up, contemplating. He hums, brings his hand out in front of him and counts on his fingers. "Let me see... you said it was a surprise, took me to play games, and then we ate a meal at an expensive restaurant." Yeonjun has three fingers out that add up his points. "Sounds like a date to me." Yeonjun smiles, turning back to face the road instead of Beomgyu.

Beomgyu looks around himself, awkwardly trying to think of something to kill Yeonjun's assumption, although now that he thinks about it, it's reasonable of him to assume that."Oh! I forgot our bag!" Beomgyu realises, scratching the side of his head. "I'll be back in a minute."

Yeonjun nods, hands in his pocket as he watches for the taxi.

Beomgyu walks towards the restaurant, stopping at the entrance to the room when he hears a low conversation, one that's whispered like a secret of the night.

"Yeah, it really does look like he's in a relationship with the guy, Mr. Choi." Beomgyu's brows screw and an angry pout sits on his lips as he catches one of the servers on the phone. He's already internally cursing away at the person his dad secretly had watch over them. He ducks down so there's no chance of being seen and continues to listen in. "Well, the other one was feeding him and they couldn't stop laughing at what each other was saying. They're actually quite compatible."

Beomgyu doesn't know why he's so angry his dad had people to check on them, he knew he'd do that from the start. The only reason he can see it bothering him is because it was only days ago his friends had done the same to him and hurt Yeonjun's feelings when they did.

Beomgyu storms into the room, looks at the man with the phone and speaks loudly, voice threatening to lose control and show his anger. "I came for my bag. Tell my dad that as much as it kills him to know, Yeonjun and I are together and that he could do the very least and trust me."

Beomgyu balls his fists at his sides, he's controlling the urge to swear during the confrontation but if he continues to speak he knows his patience will run out quickly. It won't be good creating a scene here either, not with the value of his name and the amount of people that will record it.

Beomgyu storms behind the desk to collect the bag himself. The guy on the phone runs after him, both to apologise and do his job because only employees are allowed back there. Beomgyu doesn't care, throwing the bag over his shoulder and walking out without even acknowledging the guy again.

"Woah, woah, woah!" Yeonjun rushes over to Beomgyu as he stormes away, making Beomgyu face him and gripping his shoulders.

"What's the matter? What happened?" Yeonjun takes the bag from Beomgyu and places it on the floor so it won't take the bane of Beomgyu's anger.

"My fucking dad! He has to go and get involved and ruin my mood all because he can't accept the fact that we're in a relationship." Beomgyu noises his frustration loudly, turning away and folding his arms as he waits on the pathway.

Clearly they acted well enough for the relationship to be believable, so why doesn't his dad believe him too? Beomgyu wonders if it's really because he doesn't want to accept it because Yeonjun's a man but he also thinks his dad wouldn't hide it if that was the reason.

"Why does it have to be such a big deal?! Why can't I be happy?! I've worked hard all my life and that's still not enough to have what I want and live the life I want with who I want!" Beomgyu's voice grows louder by the second, he doesn't want to cause a scene but it's hard to bottle up emotions, he's never been good at it.

"I don't want to marry Alisha, Yeonjun." Beomgyu's voice suddenly drops, the balls of his hands coming to rub at his eyes to fight away the tears of both anger and sadness.

It isn't fair that he has to fake a relationship to avoid getting married to someone he doesn't want to marry. His parents don't know what's best for him and the only reason they think Aisha is good for him is because she has money. That's what Beomgyu believes this is all about, more and more and more money. It's exhausting.

"Beomgyu, it's okay." Yeonjun whispers calmly, hands running along Beomgyu's arms, pulling them over his head. He places his hands on the younger's waist, placing his forehead against the younger's.

Beomgyu rarely has his hair brushed up to expose his forehead and Yeonjun sees it as the perfect opportunity to place a kiss there while it is. He goes back to resting his forehead against Beomgyu's straight after.

"Doesn't the music sound pretty?" Yeonjun doesn't yet comment on Beomgyu's problem, focusing on calming him down first.

The rhythm of Beomgyu's chest slows down and his breathing less forced as the classical music dances along his ears. Yeonjun sways Beomgyu's hips gently to the music, using his hands that are placed on them.

Beomgyu lifts his head up from Yeonjun's, looking at him for a mere second before placing his head in the crook of Yeonjun's neck while they dance.

"I'll stay by your side long enough for your marriage to Alisha to be off the list of choices. Her parents won't wait forever. If they find someone else suitable and single, why would they wait for you to break up with your boyfriend?" Beomgyu barely listens to what Yeonjun is saying, too busy listening to the beat of the elder's heart. What he says sounds agreeable, he knows that much.

"I think your dad wants what's best with you, but... his idea of what that is, is nothing like yours. I agree with yours. And not because I have to because you're my boss," Yeonjun says the last part hushed and quickly, laughing afterwards and gently squeezing Beomgyu's waist. He hears a small laugh from Beomgyu too.

"You said yourself he'll check up on us so don't let him get to you, as hard as it is. Focus on proving that this fake relationship is real until he gives up and stops. That's the best we can do."

Yeonjun smiles at him as Beomgyu pulls away to look at him, arms still wrapped across his neck.

"Yeah, you're right." Beomgyu smiles thin-lipped, embarrassed by the scene he'd caused. He hopes nobody took notice since he can't see anybody lurking.

"That's because I'm always right." Yeonjun grins. "You might call me old but that means I'm full of life lessons and wisdom."

Beomgyu smiles and shakes his head. Yeonjun pretends to be offended at Beomgyu's action, expressing disagreement and pouting.

"You have no new wisdom which means your advice is probably outdated."

"No new wisdom?" Yeonjun scoffs.

"Hmm, you don't even know how to play video games."

"You're going to regret saying that. It's the one thing keeping me determined to get better than you."

Beomgyu's laugh suggests he thinks that will never happen. "Yeah? Good luck with that."

Yeonjun rolls his lips and smiles, shaking his head and looking away from Beomgyu, the light creating stars in his eyes.

Beomgyu's gaze follows Yeonjun's, meeting the guy that is the reason for him being upset. He's sheepish and timidly walking their way, maybe he's thinking about apologising. Beomgyu's smile drops and he huffs.

"That him?" Yeonjun asks without looking back at Beomgyu, squeezing his waist again.

Beomgyu nods. Yeonjun catches it in the corner of his eyes.

He turns to Beomgyu. A pout is situated on his lips and it's written in his face that his brain's forming an idea. He looks Beomgyu in the eyes. "We could always prove to him just how much we love each other..."

Beomgyu furrows his eyebrows and pouts. "How?"

Yeonjun smirks, forehead touching Beomgyu's again. His hand takes the side of his face and his thumb brushes against the underside of Beomgyu's jaw. He uses it to tip his jaw as he leans forward. Beomgyu's eyes flutter shut, moving to close the distance between him and Yeonjun as he notices the taller getting closer.

Their plump lips slot together as one and Beomgyu feels all the air being stolen from his lungs. Yeonjun's lips are plush and soft like the kiss, which surprises Beomgyu, because his attitude made him think it'd be heated and rushed. Yeonjun sighs against his lips and Beomgyu thought they couldn't get any closer until the elder steps and presses his hand against Beomgyu's back. Then he removes his hand from his back and cups the other side of Beomgyu's face.

They both appear to forget the whole reason they're kissing, given that it feels as though it's only the two of them.

Beomgyu's arms wrap further around Yeonjun's neck to bring him closer, humming into the kiss as his fingers run through his hair. The warmth of Yeonjun's face radiates onto his, increasing the excitement in his chest and he uses one of his hands to clutch onto Yeonjun's shirt gently, needing to feel him close.

Yeonjun smiles and his tongue pushes against Beomgyu's lips who parts them with ease. A small noise slips past his lips, which Yeonjun smirks at, and Beomgyu would tell him to shut up if it didn't mean pulling away.

Instead, his own tongue slips into Yeonjun's mouth, feeling Yeonjun's teeth run along his tongue. He pulls apart to regain a quick shuddering breath before kissing Yeonjun again, tempted to take his bottom lip between his teeth.

The sound of a car pulling up and a beep scares the two into pulling away.

Beomgyu rolls his lips awkwardly, facing away from Yeonjun and towards the car. He walks over and gives his name, his voice breaking from the lack of air he'd forgotten to make up for. He wonders if Yeonjun's voice will sound as croaky as his or will it sound normal due to him being a player, used to kissing random people.

"Is this ours?"

Beomgyu looks over his shoulders at Yeonjun, surprised to hear Yeonjun sound slightly out of breath too. His face looks slightly warm, with lips glossy from the kiss and his hair messed up where Beomgyu's hands had ran through it.

Shit, he's pretty.

Beomgyu buffers for a moment as he stares at Yeonjun's rising chest before he nods, pulling open one of the doors and moving to the side so Yeonjun can enter. Yeonjun shoots him a look, confused about why Beomgyu held open the car door for him but he doesn't question it.

He grabs their bag and heads towards the car, getting in.

Beomgyu shuts it behind him, walking to the other side and getting in wordlessly. The cold of the air felt horrible against his warm ears but the hot air in the taxi does nothing to help it either.
