Kione thinks to himself for a while, before mutter aloud.
"It is so boring without Luca around.. maybe I should go on a road trip. I would be able to find so much more content doing that too. Maybe it will help me get my mind off of my mother and her weird imagination. Pfft... wanting me to date Luca. What a weirdo. I'm not gay.. maybe.."
He lays on his bed and passes out quickly. The pendant begins to glow again and the apparition sits on the edge of the bed, staring at Kione. He messes with Kione's laptop, leaving a tab open about a ghost town that is in a swampy area of Louisiana. However, before the apparition can go back into hiding it feels something go through it's shoulder.
"Who are you?" Kione questions, his hand still going through the figure.
"I am Junjie. You took my pendant, so here I am. It is a two for one deal if you take the pendant you get me." Junjie explains and begins to become a more human like being, Kione's hand resting on his back once he has an actual form. He turns around and looks back at him curiously.
Kione blushes and quickly averts his gaze, unaware that he was speaking aloud.
"Ah, so you are a guy... damn." Junjie quirks up an eyebrow and smiles mischievously, as he leans closer.
"Yeah, I am a guy. What of it?" Before they can continue any back and forth banter, there is loud knocking on the front door. Kione scrambles out of bed and a voice beyond the door yells out.
"Kíoné! Me and your sister are here, let us in. We knew that you were probably just moping around as per usual! Let us in~!" It was his mother, of course at a time like this. Junjie was about to make himself disappear, but Kione stops him.
"Hey, can you do me a favor and pretend you are a girl? Please for my sake. I will repay you somehow." He begs and gestures to the closet.
"My ex left some clothes. I'm sure something would look fine on you, please! I will owe you anything." Junjie smiles and says.
"Okay, Deal!"
Kione rushes off to answer the door and Junjie dresses up as a girl, putting on a bit of makeup along with stuffing a bra... way too much. He finishes styling his hair and everything, staring in the mirror for a bit. He thinks that he did a pretty good job, so he decides to head out to the living room to meet Kione's family.
Kione almost falls out of his seat, looking over at Junjie shocked. Kione's mother gasps and asks
"Where did you find her at?! She is so beautiful. Don't tell me that you just picked her up to pretend you have a girlfriend." Kione can't even think of a protest or objection. Junjie walks over and sits on his lap, playing with his hair.
"I would never pretend to be his girlfriend, because I absolutely love my little Kione~!" Junjie says in a sickly sweet tone, snuggling up to Kione. Junjie continues.
"My name is Jennifer and I met Kione by chance ay the mall. He is so absolutely handsome and he caught my eye. So, I walked over and to my surprise he asked me out. This is our fourth date and we just finished supper before you two showed up!" Junjie lies through his teeth and only hopes that his lovey dovey display is enough to convince and scare away Kione's sister and mother. Surprisingly enough, the plan works and soon after the introduction they leave. Once they leave and the door is locked. Junjie groans and snaps his fingers, laying back on the couch as himself. He looks over at Kione and says.
"So, that is what it is like to have an overbearing family? Personally, the families that I have had throughout my lives were very lackluster." Kione raises an eyebrow and sits in his chair, looking over at the blonde man. He asks.
"Lives? What do you mean by that?" Junjie let's out a long sigh and looks up at Kione, as if nonverbally asking if he is sure he wants to know. Kione just tilts his head to the side and Junjie takes that as a yes, beginning to explain his life story up to this point.
"I am/was a man blessed by the gods or some could say I was cursed by fate. In my first incarnation, I was a mighty dragon spirit that could somewhat morph into human form, but my horns and tail would still be visible. In my second incarnation, I was a lowly demon that lived off of the scraps of people much stronger than I was. In my third incarnation, I was a highly ranked Buddhist priest that had to protect a scripture. However, I ended up dying while in the process. That brings me to my fourth incarnation, here, whatever I am. I am still unsure. A ghost, maybe? A shapeshifter, perhaps? Anyways, yeah. That is all about me." He states, finishing his life-story only for Kione to look at him in disbelief. He just replies,
"Oh." Junjie doesn't press anything further and he begins to fade, telling Kione.
"Anyways, you have been through a lot today. Get some rest and then we can go to the ghost town in Louisiana. That is if you are up for it." He teases and retreats back into the jade pendant.
Luca finds the time to escape the residents, after hearing the nonsense of why everyone was there. It wasn't an emergency at all; it was for his sister's wedding. He finds himself walking down the dimly lit streets with a cigarette loosely hanging between his lips. His walk is interrupted by a pair of two drunkards that are falling over each other, Luca tries to move out of the way to avoid conflict. However, one of the men bump right into his chest.
"Oi, what are you doin out late kiddie? Shouldn't your mum be warmin you a mug of milk? Pfft, pansy." The drunk man mocks and only gets more enraged when he realizes that Luca is ignoring him. The drunk man and his friend decide to gang up on Luca, easily overpowering the man that is only used to reading books and arguing in court. After knocking him down they make off with his valuables and leave him in the gutter.
Luca hears the sound of heavy footfalls in the distance, they are approaching. He doesn't dare sit up only closing his eyes tightly and waiting for the person to pass, but the footsteps stop right in front of him and he hears the sound of stuff falling on the ground in front of his face. A deep voice commands him,
"Get up, do you plan on sleeping out in the cold? After I went through all of that trouble to beat up those men to get your stuff back?" Luca obediently sits up and feels around for his glasses, slipping them back on. He looks up at the tall man through his smudged up and smashed glasses. Luca quickly shoves his belongings back into his pockets and stands up. The man looks at him curiously and introduces himself, extending a hand out to him.
"I am Floyd Richards, I am a therapist. However, I also indulge as a part time bartender." Luca firmly grasps his hand and shakes it, introducing himself.
"I am Luca Grayson, I am a lawyer. I don't usually like coming to London, after all my family summoned me here on false pretenses. They said it was a family emergency, but it turns out my sister is just getting married." He mutters and looks up to see Floyd smiling at him warmly.
Kione wakes up and packs some essentials, before heading off to find the ghost town in Louisiana.
